“And talking of age, you should rather talk about mental and chronological age. If you have a chronological age of 30, which makes you a youth, and mental age is not at par, what do we gain? Nothing.
“And you may have a chronological age of 68, which is the age of the oldest of the nominees; if that nominee now has a mental age of 15 or 20, what do we gain? We must rather talk of the mental age rather than the chronological age. It is not the chronological age that matters as long as that person has what he is bringing to the table.”
“God himself is ageless, so you can’t be talking of whether someone is old or not.” Dear Mr. Adesina sir, I put it to you that you are talking gibberish.. yes, gibberish! |

Ngozi Bianze wrote My Dad graduated from the University in 1976; finished NYSC in 1977; and worked Under the Delta State Ministry of Education for 35 years, then retired in November 2012.
During his service years, I saw him put his very best into the Job, those who knew/know him will testify to this. At a time, his life was almost on the line during the course of his service. He saw the good, bad and the ugly, but he still gave his best. And then in November 2012, he retired. That's almost 3 years ago.
Since November 2012 till this very day, my Dad has not received a penny. He is owed millions in Gratuity and millions in pension arrears. Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan was then the Governor of Delta State; and Dr. Okowa since May 29th 2015. Non of these has deemed it necessary to pay these retired civil servants what they worked for for decades, non of them care about the welfare of these retirees who put in years of their lives into serving the State.
What if my Mum wasn't working? What if my Dad didn't make adequate plans for a business to fall back on? What if he was the sole bread winner who only depended on his monthly salary?... My brother would have had to drop out of school (as I and my sisters had graduated then but I wouldn't have been able to go for further studies), my Dad might have been dead from lack of enough money for medical care, my Mum would have been depressed and hungry, etc.... Less than a year after my Dad retired, a colleague of his died because he didn't have 200k advance deposit for medical bills, this was a man who was being owed millions. Maybe he would have been alive if he got his money at the right time. His children dropped out of school even before he died, there was no money for tuition of course.
Gratuity and pensions are not some kind of privilege; it's a fundamental right for all retirees.
Now what's the news reaching me? That Okowa is sending his people to US for 6 whole weeks at the expense of the State which includes MY FATHER'S MONEY. This breaks my heart so badly that I want to cry. How do these people sleep at night? Do they have blood running in their veins? What is wrong with humanity? What da freaking hell is wrong with Nigerians and their leaders?
And if tomorrow, either Uduaghan or Okowa drops dead, someone actually expects me and others to sing their praises huh? These so-called leaders who have done nothing but inflict pains on the masses will now become saints as soon as they drop dead right?
How do Nigerians manage to make a saint of every blood sucking demon that drops dead? What is good about Alamieseigha? I was trying so hard to keep mute but I related what this demon might have put Bayelsans through to what my Dad and his mates are going through in the hands of the ones who are supposed to act in their interest.
At least half the accidents/deaths on the Nigerian roads are as a result of bad leadership. Half the deaths in Nigerian hospitals are as a result of bad leadership if traced to the roots. Bad leadership is also the reason why many Nigerian graduates are not marketable. Bad leadership is responsible for millions of deaths in Nigeria. Bad leadership is behind the increased crime rate. Bad leadership is the reason I'm fed up of that country.
Nigerians are suffering, we're natural experts in suffering and smiling that's why the sufferings can easily be underestimated. Who cares if all of Alamieseigha's organs failed? Who cares about how much pains he was in during his last days? Who cares if he died as a result of a heart failure or Ebola? These kleptos have caused much more pains for the masses. He deserves to be fed to the vultures, or left to rot in the evil forest where ants and rodents can have a marathon party on his remains.
You pray against bad leadership in Nigeria, God now begins to answer your prayers, but not only do you start a bizarre mourning jagajaga, you still want to force sane people like me to join you in the mourning. # Youmustbemad! Rest in peace Kor; rest in pieces ni. Arrant nonsense!!!. #Sipspineapplejuice and # Rollsmyeyes |

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN! Memo to the Citizens of Delta State. By Pius Adesanmi.
Una well done o. Una don dey carry last for Waffi side o.
Your Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, and the State House of Assembly members have, once again, turned you mugu. There is a training jamboree coming up in the United States of America. Hear Sahara Reporters: "Despite his public outcry of bankruptcy in the State treasury and dwindling funds from oil revenue, Delta State Governor, Mr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has given the exorbitant sum of N750 million to members of the State House of Assembly for a leadership training jamboree in the United States Of America (USA)."
Shey una hear? The entire State House of Assembly is going to spend nearly a billion naira on a leadership training programme in America. Allah be praised. If you are from Delta state and your tear ducts are hungry for mourning, you could spend your time productively mourning this latest heist by your Governor and your House of Assembly folks. You could then organize protests to force a rethink. It works. Trust me, it works.
A few years ago, Harvard University was going to cash in on the stupidity and heartlessness of Nigerian state Governors by organizing a quack training program for them via the Nigerian Governors Forum. Harvard was going to make a quick buck or two on the back of the Nigerian people because we are such great lovers of our oppressors!
Sahara Reporters, Nigerians in America, Nigerians in Canada, Nigerians in Europe - we all rose up against it. We caused such an internet uproar that Harvard University, fearing for her reputation, quickly backed off and cancelled the so-called training program for Nigerian Governors.
If you are from Delta state and you are not currently spending your life shedding tears for looters, start by finding out where these idiots are going in the United States. Which organization in the US is preparing to facilitate this horrendous looting of Nigerian money by the leaders of Delta state and let us start a massive online campaign. Once an American establishment senses bad and costly publicity, they will back off. |

Phones › Strive Masiyiwa: Made The First GSM Phone Call In Nigeria by Kelklein(op): 7:48pm On Oct 10, 2015 |
‘I made the first GSM phone call in Nigeria... then corruption chased me out’ - Mr. Strive Masiyiwa Chairman of telecoms giant, Econet Wireless, Mr. Strive Masiyiwa, in this post on his blog — http://www.econetwireless.com/strive_masiyiwa_blog/index.php/its-time-to-play-by-a-different-ethical-set-of-rules-part-7-nigeria-1-of-5/, tells the story of his first hand nasty experience in the hands of corruption in Nigeria while challenging all to “be the generation that fights corruption.” I had the privilege of making Nigeria’s first GSM phone call back in 2001 when I called the regulator to say, “We’re live!” Who would’ve believed then that Nigeria today would have more than 167 million mobile phones?! It all started out as a very exciting new chapter for enterprise in Africa.
Shortly after President Olusegun Obasanjo was elected, the new government announced an incredibly transparent international auction process for three national mobile phone licenses. To participate in the bid, you not only had to raise money, but there had to be a member of the bidding consortium who was an experienced GSM operator. Econet Wireless met the requirements because of its experience in Zimbabwe and Botswana.
Our Nigerian partners, which included state governments, local banks and high net worth individuals, were financial investors. The largest shareholder had only 10%. That was the written agreement. I managed to assemble a consortium of 22 investors to put up the money needed to bid. Our shareholders were all Nigerian, mostly institutional investors including leading banks and two state governments, Lagos State and Delta State. The license cost us $285m and was the most expensive license ever issued in Africa at the time. This was 2001.
We considered the investment not only about putting together a network, but also about building a nation. We knew it had the potential to transform Nigeria’s entire business and social architecture. Most of our investors had between 1-10% shareholding. Econet Wireless Nigeria had only 5% of the shares, but that was fine because it was 5% ownership of a very big pie. As the “technical partner and operator,” Econet was the company with the expertise to build and operate such a business.
Our financial investors recognised this, and also allowed us to receive 3% of the turnover as our fees. This was standard practice in the industry. We were one of the winning bidders and they gave us just six months to set up business and get our network operating. We were under a lot of pressure but our network was live two days before the others! Customers were pouring in. We were number one in the market with an estimated 57% market share.
Then came the fateful day when I was told that our company must pay a total of $9m in bribes to senior politicians (in state government) who had facilitated the raising of the money to pay for the license. I refused to authorise the illegal payments. Meeting after meeting was held to try to get me to agree, but I would not. The money would not be paid as long as Econet was the operator and I had signing authority. James Ibori, the Governor of Delta State, was demanding $4,5m be paid to him in his personal capacity. He was one of the most powerful men in the country and had a reputation for violence. When he heard that I was refusing to approve payment he issued an ultimatum: “Pay or I will chase you and your people out of the country.” I refused.
The shareholders met and voted Econet Wireless Nigeria out of management. They cancelled our management contract. James Ibori and his colleagues personally attended the meeting to remove us. After the meeting, one of them (a prominent local businessman even today) came up to me and said: “Unfortunately for you, God does not have a vote.” I had to withdraw all my staff and their families: 200 people in all. We left Nigeria. Most of our people had to be retrenched. The loss of the contract almost drove us to bankruptcy as a group.
They invited a big international operator to replace us as technical partner and operator. They changed the name of the company from Econet to V-Mobile. Within days of their arrival, the managers of the new operator signed off the payments demanded.
Then what happened? A few noble Nigerians had both the integrity and courage to carefully collect all the documentation on the movement of the money, and pass it all on to me. There’s a saying worth remembering in uncovering the trail of destruction that is corruption: “Follow the money”… I bided my time… then I wrote a letter to the United States Department of Justice! It was 2003. Spiritual Reflection I could easily have agreed to pay the bribes and I would have remained in the company earning millions every year.
My shares could have increased and I would have earned billions. It was all there for me. All I needed to do was to accept that the payments be made. After all, the money was not coming from my own pocket I also knew the price I and my company would have to pay: •Lucrative contracts would be lost. •Our reputation and prestige would be affected as these people would tell lies about the reasons we had to leave. They had powerful friends everywhere including some of the press; •Many people would lose their jobs. •My company could collapse. •I faced personal danger.
Knowing all that, I still said NO! In Matthew chapter 4, Satan says to Jesus, “If you bow down to me, I will give you all the kingdoms on earth and their wealth.” Those who engage in corruption ( or ignore it) have bowed down to Satan. Whenever I see someone who is corrupt, or chooses to be quiet about it, all I see is someone grovelling at the feet of Satan. Let’s be the generation that fights corruption… and ends it! Will you join me? |

A guy got so high and was searching for his missing phone with the torchlight from the same phone he was looking for.
Since he was so worried with the search and almost in tears, his close friend who was also high joined him in this serious search.
After 2 hours of searching, his phone rang, he picked the call and quickly told the caller: "I'll call you back, am trying to look for my phone" and he angrily cut the call and continued to search for the phone he just answered a call from.
He decided to use the same phone to try calling his line and when he got a busy signal, he turned to his friend and said: " Guy forget, that phone don go, the person wey thief am dey cut am as I call am just now."

A lovely little girl was holding two apples with both hands.
Her mum came in and softly asked her little daughter with a smile; my sweetie, could you give your mum one of your two apples?
The girl looked up at her mum for some seconds, then she suddenly took a quick bite on one apple, and then quickly on the other.
The mum felt the smile on her face freeze. She tried hard not to reveal her disappointment.
Then the little girl handed one of her bitten apples to her mum,and said: mummy, here you are. This is the sweeter one.
No matter who you are, how experienced you are, and how knowledgeable you think you are, always delay judgement.
Give others the privilege to explain themselves.
What you see may not be the reality. Never conclude for others. Which is why we should never only focus on the surface and judge others without understanding them first. |

I saw someone claimed he received an sms invitation for an Interview today (sept28th) ..but how did the institution get his mobile number given that they is no provision for that on the 'BIODATA' page online (check your own).
my guess is there is more to this recruitment than meets the eye (the usual Naija way)
my advice is whoever has a Godfather Professor somewhere that knows any top staff in UDUS, should meet him and get a referral or recommendation as soon as possible. Then take it to the institution himself.
Because waiting in vain for them to update their dashboard won't yield any result
that's how they will keep you waiting till the dude above start collecting his salary
