On Friday my hubby got a mail our passports were ready.he got dere today and only the passport was given and stamped no visa inside... In which he went to pick it @ Oshodi ,Wat could be the problem. @bolded: IMO, it may be used as a supporting but not as the primary POF. At least, the applicant can access the fund after 4 months of being unemployed in Nigeria.

I think it is high time Nigerians who have relocated abroad permanently and who are contributors to the pension fund set up a lobby group to make a case for an amendment to the Pension Reform Act (as amended) that would allow people in their category to access 100% of their RSA since they are no resident in Nigeria.

The current regulation did not seem to take into consideration Nigerians in diaspora.

Sorry I didn't reply your query immediately I have been very busy @ work.In a nutshell,That is one top secret the consultants or lawyers won't tell you.RSA is listed among the requirements to show as evidence of fund therefore if you must use your pension fund then provide statement of account when you opened it with detail contributory history,have your PFA write a backup letter that it can be withdrawn at anytime.My friend's immigration lawyer used it and it worked.He is in Canada enjoying his life.Thank you

I was at the embassy at abuja on Monday for the interview. I applied through an agent but don't know I can actually apply myself untill I saw this thread.According to the agent he said am married with kids. The transcript goes thus

Hi guys, It's a long one, but apologies.
I might have the opportunity of coming to torrance in California for a factory training on aircraft maintenance in October.  I am not working, I don't have much ties in Nigeria, but I was able to bargain with a company where I worked before to back me up as they have been sending people for the training. So they have accepted on the condition I will pay for the course through them, and they will give me supporting documents that will show that they are the ones sending me for the course. This course would actually improve my chances of getting a job in Nigeria,  but that is under probability considering the condition of Nigeria. I am a licenced aircraft maintenance engineer in nigeria. But I never had the opportunity to secure a job.
My plan now is to do the course in carlifornia, convert my licence to FAA (American licence). And get a job in the US. I know it's not going to be that straightforward considering the immigration hurdles, work permit and all that. Right now, my parents are still the ones sponsoring me. They have spent all their savings to ensure I got Nigerian licence. They even have to get loan to pay for this course. Right now, I am at the stage of visa application. My questions now are:
1. What are my chances of getting a visa considering that the company is backing me. (The company are the only dealers of this aircraft in Nigeria at the moment).
2. What kind of visa am I expecting? What could be the validity? And what are my chances of getting a work permit with such visa?
3. What are my chances of getting something small to be doing (hustling) and survival without much money and with this visit visa.
4. Do you think it's worth risking? I have roughly 1.5million  naira ($4000 USD) now for the whole thing. Course fee, Visa, flight ticket might take up to $2000USD

There could have been a number of reasons... Impossible to say without knowing a specific case. That being said, it isn't illegal to get a cash discount, but it does raise suspicions when you have applied with the intent of going to one location and then suddenly change it at the last minute. CBP will sometimes turn people around and give them 5 year bans just for showing up in the wrong city...
