AkpaMgbor: I thought I was alone in this quagmire. IF there’s no afterlife eventfully, then life itself is one big fvcking sick joke! You come into the world only to die in less than 80 years for most people. And then stay gone for millennia after millennia after millennia……never to return again. Only to be forgotten, even those children you’re struggling to give a good life will face that same eventuality. They will die and be forgotten eventually. Who even remembers the name of their predecessors five generations ago? That is why the essence of an afterlife is the ONLY thing that gives living on this earth any meaning…but what if there isn’t really an afterlife? Then it’s all truly vanity! I lost hope of any afterlife. The Preacher of afterlife told us that the the smallest mistake you made here could deny you such opportunity (that's if there was anything like that). Hmmm. |

Government has no business operating businesses. Government own is to collect tax and royalties and use that to secure the lives and properties and upliftment of its citizens. Their failure to do that is what led to militancy and general insecurity in the land. Your brother's case is not same. He is nurturing a business for profit. For the part he is using your family land without paying royalties (because u have not share land) is where you have a point. Let him pay royalties for the land he is using, he will get his cut from it as well, it's his father's land too. Rather than fighting him because he is now successful in the business, u guys should sit down and ask for his assistance. The more many of you get successful in your endeavour, the less you will put eye in his success. Approach matters. thatigboman: if this his business had crashed like your other brother's own crashed, would you have come to ask for share of the loss. He collected loan and placed family land as collateral. He collected loan or the family collected loan? Has he not been paying the loan or is it the family that has been paying the loan? Everything points out to the fact that he is the sole owner of the business. I personally have guaranteed loans for some people. If anything negative happens, the bank will hold me responsible to pay, but I'm not a co-owner of their businesses or assets. The business is his business, he takes sole responsibility for its success or failure. It's people that assist to startup a business, not meaning the people have a stake at its profit. Rather than fighting him, u guys should sit down and talk, let him see reason why he should assist others as he was assisted. Dont make it a do or die that he must share his profit with you people. Water is a universal resource. Shell even has more stake in the business than u. If they didn't sink the borehole, the business would not have started. the monster you called MILITANTS WAS created by the greediness of the government who claims they have absolutes power over what comes out of people communities. live and let live is the way forward to long life and properties. Is that he asked you to contribute and promised to make you guys share holders or that he asked you guys to dash him money for his business as a family? one of my brothers made the idea but his business crashed The other elderly one too over and all of us support him financially plus using the compound as collateral to get loan from micro banks. Your brother came up with an idea of venturing in a business in your family compound and you feel you are entitled to a percentage of his income, I doubt if yourself contribute a dime to assist him at the initial stage. Assuming your brother is lazy like you, he won't be where he is today. Go and find work to do so you can get yourself an income and stop harassing your brother. if I wanted to make a full disclosure of what happened or goes on you will change your narrative. |

Family › Good Advice Please. Do I Have A Case In This Matter? by Kennitrust(op): 9:29am On Nov 14, 2023 |
Straight to the point:
We're family of 8 living closely together in the family compound. What happened here is that in 2009, shell company came to our community and and offered us and anyone interested a cheap and affordable borehole. We took the advantage to have borehole in our family compound.
Fast-forward to 2017, one of my brothers conceived the ideas of making pure water from the family water. The idea was a welcome development as we all donated towards the success of the business.
To cut long story short...
When the business became successful due to the environmental position (our compound is closed to border). My brother refused any member of the family an access to the benefits accrued the sale. My brother fought anyone who demand for a share from the sale. Literally most times in a week my brother could make a sale up 1m. In a week.
Currently, he is building another water factory unopposed by the family. Family compound is decaying and he said, he had no concern whatever happens in the compound and that his only concentration is in his business.
Being the last born in the family with negligence of help from the only brother who could recus me using that our local oil well. I decided to pick up a battle of GIVE ME MY SHARE OF THE PROFIT YOU MAKE FROM MY FATHER PROPERTY. The fight no be here. He is now asking us to come together so we can share properties so he can exonerates himself from the rest of us.
Please I need advice on how to crab my shares from this LIFETIME business. |

Bluezy13: Fasting is a weapon of starvation.
God created food as a necessity to maintain your body, you are depriving your body...a perfect creation of God, that necessary requirement that God created for it in order to please the same God. How does that make sense
Also, If God created man and the same God created food. And everything created by God is good. Tell me: why should man deprive himself of God's goodness (food) in order to please God ?
It then follows that if deprivation of food is necessary to be closer to God, then either: Food is not good. Man is not good. Or God is not good.
If any of the above is the case, then God did NOT create a good thing. God is imperfect. nairaland should ban you 🙄🙄🙄 |

richmond500: The essence of these policies is to kill importation business and make Nigeria a production country. Your business is not the only business that is dying, many business that depends on dollar has closed down and more will close too.
Time is coming when Naira will hit 5000 to a dollar. When this happens, foreign products will be difficult to purchase and we will have no choice but to buy made in Nigeria goods cos even a pair of foreign pants will be so expensive that only politicians can afford it while the rest of us will wear plantain leaves.
It's so annoying that the average secondary school student knows the dollar to naira exchange rate, that shows how we depend so much on the dollar and killing our own naira. Until we patronize our own companies, we can't grow the economy, this painful stage is called the transition stage from foreign to local, the govt is not the problem but the time it takes Nigerians to accept the Nigerian goods will determine how long the pain will last.
In the next five years, we will fully accept our own economy and in the next ten years, we will have an economy that will beat France and Germany cos we have the market already. do we have make in Nigeria... Fan Computer Television Android phone Microphone Vehicle engine Plane War arsenal... To name but a few things What do we really produce in this country apart from food. The food that's locally processing is not affordable to many household. Nigeria government have had the opportunity to make things work in this country but corrupt blinded their mentality and now they want the common man to pay the price by dying of hunger. Your comments showed that you are eating 🌽 |

Elisha and the Two Bears (2 Kings 2:23-25)
23 Then he (Elisha) went up from there to Bethel; and as he was going up by the way, young lads came out from the city and mocked him and said to him, “Go up, you baldhead; go up, you baldhead!” 24 When he looked behind him and saw them, he cursed them in the name of the LORD. Then two female bears came out of the woods and tore up forty-two lads of their number. 25 And he went from there to Mount Carmel, and from there he returned to Samaria.

Even Uber itself, like Twitter, is a perpetual loss making company until last quarter.
You can't build anything on lies, hate , crime and bigotry and think it will stand. Ex-President Buhari completed his tenure and now enjoying his retirement yet all his cyberbullies , criminal defamers, bigots and those who enabled them lost. This one too shall pass.
Mr Bayo Onanuga is now the Special Assistant to the President on Strategy and Information. Remember this his tweet.
