Please house, I am applying for a US Visa from UK to attend a conference in United States.

Am I going to select Business/Conference (B1) or Business & Tourism (Temporary Visitor) (B1/B2).

Secondly, I am a student in the UK and my study will end by May, graduation is by July but this conference will take place in June.

Buy you said the parents are too poor if I'm not mistaken. I believe you already know the situation of things in her house. Even if she asks for money while at her parents it shouldn't be a problem too. My thoughts though
