You will never see Nigeria in such list, these are countries that value their citizens.

They care about the welfare and wellbeing of their people, unlike my country Nigeria.

But why is there no country from Africa on the list?

I expect countries like Botswana, Namibia, Rwanda, Mauritania, Seychelles to be on the list
They dont see Africa as a place to live, they consider it a jungle. By the way, why using "God" as your moniker?

Car TalkRe: What Are The Functions Of Cruise And Over Drive On A Gear Stick? by kernniejay(m): 8:23pm On Jul 18, 2022
Emeka71:
OK when in gear 5; how do you engage the cruise control?
When driving a manual car, normally you dont need your clutch when the road is free and you are already on gear 3 upward. So when you are on highway with gear 4 or 5, you are not pressing your clutch, you can just engage the cruise control once you reach the desired speed, then remove your foot from the throttle pedal and the car will continue at the speed you set the cruise.
Car TalkRe: What Are The Functions Of Cruise And Over Drive On A Gear Stick? by kernniejay(m): 8:14pm On Jul 18, 2022
Rhisky:
For me, I use cruise when I'm on the highway. It's efficient for fuel consumption and it keeps you at a steady pace on the highways.

O/D on the other hand makes the engine work harder, I use it when I'm ascending hills and when in trying not to get stuck in mud. Once you put on the O/D notice that the car feels a bit heavy and the speed reduces. Both functions are cool
I think that is a wrong use of the OD. When you apply OD and your engine works harder or your car feels heavier, that means you are stressing the engine when it is supposed to be free on OD. You may damage your transmission with that. You are supposed to ascend hills or wade through muddy terrain with a Low Gear (L) like 1 or 2 (either manual or automatic) depending on how thick the mud is. The best mode of driving in slippery mud or slippery road is to apply the Traction control. It will give your tires better grip on the ground. The Over drive is for speeding and you cannot speed when you are stuck in mud.

How about on manual vehicles ¿
I don't think manual vehicles have Over drive function. As for Cruise control, I think the manual transmission has to be in top gear like gear 4 or 5.

Did you say two bedroom at Oworo, Bariga or Gbagada? You really despise those areas and underrate Gbagada!
In Oworo or Bariga alone, two bedroom is like N800k p/a on the aeverage. In Gbagada, a roomself is around 350-400k while a two bedroom is 1m upward per annum. Do your research well.

My brother, you call people to perdition of setting partner with Allah and when it comes to time to defend yourself assertion, you proclaimed " END OF DISCUSSION ".

Friend, do you know what the truth is?
The time of truth is our seconds of death, when the vail will be opened and man will be in state of praise of his Lord or ignominy.

Then, there will be no return for a second chance as the opened veil would've be closed.

If you are truthful, give me a single word of Jesus (puh) " from the Bible", where he said; " I AM YOUR GOD, WORSHIP ME".

If you can't, be sure there will come the day when Christ will ask for which name they worship and perform miracles and give them a sound denial.

May God open our heart to the truth of his message.
Thanks for the maturity and mutual respect. Cheers bro!

You are the ignorant one here. The greatest of Jesus (puh) miracles are not found in the Bible, they are recorded in the quran.

Which of your alfa are you talking about? Allah has revealed quranic messages with no crockednes or wanting to cause desease in our hearts.

If you say the truth, when the angel of death visit when you might have reached good old age, ask the angel of death to give you a minute more in Jesus name if you are the truthful.

Poverty in Africa make the hopeless still hold on to this deceit of unfounded false miracles from your deceitful alfas and pastors.

No one can wrestle the dominions of heaven and earth with Allah, the ever living, who creates death and will never taste of it, death.

There are problems anyway, because there will come a day, in assurance, where men will file before their Lord in ranks, helpless, hopeless and in regret, on the plane of Judgement awaiting their faith.

The losers on this day are those who put before Allah, another deity, be it man or whatever.

May Allah open our heart to his truth.
When you finally know the Truth, you will look for me to apologize. End of discussion.

Yes, it's wrong. Jesus Christ (peace upon him) was in this world and lived among men, he eats and drink what they drink of Allah's provisions which is halal. He is a honored and high ranking servant of God.

His name can't do anything for anyone and himself inclusive, all his miracles are by the permission of Allah.

Don't let your love and awe for someone put them in rank with the Lord of the Worlds.
You still need to study your Quran more to know more about Jesus Christ. Even your Imams know Who Jesus is what His name does, but wont tell you these secrets for reasons best known to them. No problem anyway.
Car TalkRe: Forward Or Backward? by kernniejay(m): 4:17pm On Jul 17, 2022
First before moving, turn the wheel completely to the right in the opposite direction, then move forward a bit, stop and turn wheel again to left and move backward a bit, repeat the two moves above till the car position is straight, then drive forward to leave gully completely before conviniently stirring to desired direction and go. Quite easy for expert drivers. grin
Car TalkRe: What Are The Functions Of Cruise And Over Drive On A Gear Stick? by kernniejay(m): 3:55pm On Jul 17, 2022
1. The Cruise Control helps you to maintain your speed steadily at where you set the cruise control without using the throttle when you are on the highway. All you have to do is to control the direction of the car by the steering wheel. The vehicle will maintain its speed without you pressing the accelerator. Once you press the brake, the cruise control is deactivated.

2. The Over Drive (OD) helps your car to run at a higher speed without laboring your engine. The OD will reduce your RPM even when your car is at a high speed, thereby reducing your engine labour and fuel consumption. This will make your engine last longer.

The difference between Cruise Control and Over Drive is that, when you set the cruise control, you dont use your throttle/accelerator again while your vehicle keeps speeding at the steady kilometer per hour rate you want. BUT with the OD while you keep using your accelerator to determine your speed, your engine will not suffer any pressure or labour. The OD is best used when you are at top speed on highway, as the speed will not strain your engine. OD will not let your engine overwork by the speed.
Caveat - OD is not to be used for towing or climbing uphill road.

I have noticed that people do disrespect the Nigerian Police and it hurts their ego and affects their morale.
These actions have triggered the police to become more aggressive to prove that they are not weaklings as they are being portrayed.
Most Nigerians with cars look down on the police.
The people that appear to respect police a bit are mini bus drivers[ transporters]
Most Nigerians doesn't like to stop when flagged by the police.
We should learn to respect and cooperate with police at Check points.
If the police decide to stop accepting bribe, most Nigerians will be indicted.
Police only accept bribes from guilty people.
Having said that, I condemn the killing in strong terms, except the boy was armed and the police was under threat.
You are indeed a smart thinker. All what you said are exactly my thought when I saw the post. A lot of people driving despise the police, forgetting that Nigeria police is like a legal criminal, yet people still dont realize it when being flagged down by the rogues in uniform. How much will the police collect from these boys that is worth their lives?
It is well sha.

Guy which electricity and gas is subsidised in US? Who is feeding you trash? I'm in houston as I'm typing this and petrol is $4.50 per gallon (that's N497 per litre using official rate of N420/$). My last electricity bill was over $200 for June cos its bloody hot at the moment. Hotter than normal. So Hvac is overworking.
My car insurance is $115per month and property tax is about $4500 annually and mortgage is $1850 monthly? Are bills in Nigeria this high?

Professors in Nigeria should earn more no doubt, but please do not compare blindly to America.
I will like you to determine how much you earn per hour and eventually per day, then proceed to how much it amount to in a week and the total realisable in a month, then convert to naira and check if you can make that in a year doing the same job in Nigeria.
No offence intended, I'm sure nobody tied you down in the US not to come back to Nigeria? Don't you think you are better off saving all those money you incur on all the expenses mentioned above, why not send them down to Nigeria here for investment so that by the time you come back (if you ever wish to) you have something doing to fall back on? Just wondering...

God bless you for pointing my attention to it. To balance things up, if the Nigerian Professor earns N24m a year, we need know the income of a US Proffessor in a year also and convert to naira to determine how much he also earns annually in naira, we can now compare total cost of surviving in both Nigeria and America by the Professors for us to do a fair judgement.

So there is no cost to the production of crude? And the oil companies that are producing it are good samaritans that produce every barrel and hand it over to Nigeria? Don't comment on what you don't know for likes. Nigeria cannot afford to triple the salary of ASUU members which is what is being recommended.
If you know how much Abacha looted within 1993 to 1998, you will know that Nigeria can afford triple of that amount. Only Hope Uzodinma was seen wearing a wrist watch of $800,000 shown here on Nairaland just yesterday. Wife of Femi Gbajabiamila was said to have worn an outfit that cost over a $50k. Not quite long ago, Gov. Matawalle was said to have distributed exotic SUVs (including Cardilac SUVs) to all traditional rulers in his state.
If those are far fetched, at least you are aware that each APC presidential aspirant (including a Pastor) bought the form for N100m except a woman whose form cost N50m and most of them did not contest before stepping down. PDP's form cost N40m and we all took it for granted because it's not up to N100m that APC sold it's for.
Forget, there is bastard money in Nigeria. Just that it is only circulated within the political class.

socialmediaman:
The average salary of a college professor in America is about N4 million naira monthly plus or minus (using N500 to $1)

The average cost of a 2 bedroom apartment in America is about N7 million annually, while the average cost in Nigeria (Lagos mainland) is about N700,000 annually

So based on this very simple comparison, why does a college professor in Nigeria want to earn half the salary of an American college professor when his expenses and standard of living are over 10x less?
Going by your analysis and logic, if a Professor in Nigeria spends N700k per annum on rent, and he will have 1.3m left for the whole year, have you considered the cost of fuelling his car and generator on daily basis, cost of school fees of two children in the university (and probably another two in a private secondary school), cost of cooking gas and cost of electricity (which are provided by govt in the US at a subsidized rate), cost of foodstuff which is racing at alarming speed every week and other factors like other dependants (e.g. Aged relatives or parents etc) which is usually not the practice in the US, if you convert all these costs to dollar and compare, you will see that Nigeria is a hostile place to survive.
