Finally, the Stamped passport is here and is so beautiful to behold. See ketima see Canada. if I was ever told I would be in Maple land next year, would never have imagined that, but here I'm about to head to my dreamland.


summary of my journey. .

I started this journey in January 2020. Then I never knew of this beautiful home, Nairaland. I started searching for a school and researching for the Fall 2021 intake. Writing to potential supervisors sotey i got tired of writing. But in the end, one supervisor accepted ( but no funding was attached). I applied to the following school:

My School application details.

University of Manitoba: Got rejected
University of Northern British Columbia: Got Rejected
Simon Fraser University: Rejected
Cape Breton University: Admitted but not what I wanted as I wanted Masters
University of Saskatchewan: last-minute admission ( when I thought all hope was lost). It was a relief as it was my first choice, but I had to increase the number of schools applied to increase my chances.

So my newbies, please I know is money, but please do not limit your chances to just 1 school, even if you have a sweet CGPA. Even my 4.34 CGPA couldn't compete with the best CGPA's that applied.

With the late admission letter, I headed to submit my application. Mind you, I was already about to submit an application with Cape Breton University baccalaureate with all done until the last-minute master's admission. Fiam everything changed. have to start writing a new SOP, and all other documents again.

Had to use just 2weeks to do all, by then I have known niaraland and the family came to my rescue.

I ended submitting my application in late May (May 29). Then the wait began. After exactly 4months and 13 days, the dream letter landed and it was a wonderful day.

Now the journey has come to fruition and is time to return to my work in peace as I wait for the Jappa movement.

Want to use this medium to thank us all and to encourage newbies to keep pushing. All you need for your application is here, with gurus who can guide you accordingly.

You don't need to fear. I applied with a friend, his eligibility started just a month after while mine started almost after 4months. Now immediately my eligibility started, I got BVL the next day but he didn't get anything yet. 15 days later, I got PPR and he got refusal there after. So when eligibility starts isn't an issue, just pray for favorable assessment.

My BSc background is Geography and planning science, after my graduation have been into business (buying and selling) in a shop, no salary.. Please which course can I go for? Concerning funds, But I dont have that financial buoyant to sponsor myself..

Is your business registered?
If your fund isn't enough, then you need a sponsor preferably a blood sibling or parent
But If you must use a 3rd party sponsor, do well to prove the relationship Wella.

But at this stage, first thing first, get admission. What's is your study gap? Though gap in study isn't an issue. So you can go for Msc in Geography if you have 2:1 or business related courses to show either career or academic progression. Gurus in the house will guide you accordingly.

Yes, you're free to include all financial investments. All increase your POF. But still, it doesn't still stop you from including your bank statement especially if the funds in treasury bills and other financial investments emanated from the said bank accounts. So you can included the account statement and explain convincingly to the VO all investments in the SOP.

To me oo, better be aware the VO's most times psychologically try to envisage the availability of all these investment tied funds and third party funds. That's why the come up with this comment's "PA shows enough fund but I'm not convinced the funds will be available". So please try to close the loose ends and loop holes ok.

Let me start with what is the cost of the program?

Now the VO has looked at your academic History, your professional history, relating it with your financial situation (capacity). So it comes to the question, what's the cost of the program? and what level of income earner are you? Dis you provide enough POF? Now comparing it with the course you're going for, you didn't convince him why tis course is important to your career or academic progression in the section of sop (why this course) and job prospect in home country after studies (future plans). Now the VO is kind of concerned that you may not really be a genuine bonafide student and won't leave after studies.

In summary, your SOP didn't explain well and in details the benefits this course would bring to you after completing it knowing fill well of your financial situation ( as pointed by VO)

So, I think you may need to work on your finance(POF), then, explain well in LOE why going for the course is the best and a progression and the benefits it will give you upon return.

My little layman's opinions. Gurus will guide you well. Sorry for your delay

If you mean looking for PGD or PGC in education, you may find it hard to see. You need to be specific in your field. Curriculum, educational administration, elementary or early childhood education etc. So use that to search for your specific area of study.

Yes. Me too have seen it. But, their applications goes through alot of scrutiny.

Don't you have your DHL tracking number? Mine has been picked up by DHL and is on the way to my destination. DHL said it will reach me on Monday. So please use yours return tracking number to know the update on your envelope.

As for the ban, applying to NZL,UK,USA,etc which share info (during Info sharing) my result to real scrutiny of your documents as they will surely get feedback from Canada why the 5years ban. if it has to do with fraudulent documents submitted, then your application will undergo thorough scrutiny. But then, your chance of this other countries may not be dependent on your ban in Canada but mehn I believe with truthfully attested documents, it may not affect it wholely.

Is obvious the agent used a fraudulent forged or doctored documents, IRCC sent a PFA to explain within 15days why so and so. Him knowing what he did, didn't bother to let you know and ignored the IRCC PFL. After all you have paid him in full and is not his own, so they should go ahead and ban. Now you have been banned from Canada for 5years. You requesting for your GCKey, he intentionally got it revoked and sent the details to you.

Is so painful but truth have to beb told, he has ruined your Canada study dream for now. Using an agent means you gave him right to and all submitted by him is from you. So sorry it got to this point.

to answer ur question. u need the letter of introduction yo show the border officer wen u arrive.i think ur study permit number is also written there.

wen ur study permit expires u can renew it easily in Canada. u deferred to when by the way?

No I didn't get a mail. I just checked my GCKey as saw Application/profile update, opening it, I saw that.

the moment DHL or UPS sends your passport to VAC office and they receive it, they will send you a mail with the tracking number.

You need your study permit to even apply fr her and other relevant documents which you will be given only when you get to canada.

yes, Jay316. I was told is too early too to apply for her. so for now I'm arranging documents and all for her own application after I have entered Canada. So relax ok. she will surely come to meet you sooner than you think.

Well if you mean counterfoil is TRV, yes is 2 years I saw in my GCKey, though my passport hasn't arrived yet. yes, I sent an updated LOA. could it be the reason for 2 years of TRV?

It's just the date by which you must have entered Canada.

Your Study permit will be issued at Point of Entry.

The TRV allows you to travel out and back into Canada as long as it has not expired.

It is advisable that your first entry coincides with period of your start of study since the main purpose is to study unlike a visit visa application which isn't tied to a particular event.

You may be advised by others here to send update your file by sending webform with an updated admission letter or deferral approval. Not too sure about that part.

I saw my TRV is 2years as what I read about people saying is 1year and that one must travel before it expires

Hello My seniors,

I just got an application/profile update in my GCKey. logging it was a counterfoil update. Please I need clarification on the following;

1). I keep hearing about LOI and co. Please what does that mean how will I get it?

2). Due to the decision coming late, I was given a deadline of a certain day in September to defer, if not I won't receive a full refund. so had to defer which is only 1 intake in a year. new LOA sent via webform. Now my counterfoil update is saying it will expire in Nov 2023, by then I will just be concluding the first year. So will it be easy to extend from inside canada?

Just need your input so that we all can learn. Thanks in advance

Hello guys...i must appreciate the good efforts of everyone guiding, helping, advising interested applicants ....

I recently got admission for a post graduate diploma in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at CIMT Ontario college for fall term 2022, and this is what landed me into this thread and i have been reading and reading contributions in here..and i have concerns about going forward with the admission.

To start with, i have a Bsc in Geology 2:1, graduated 5 years with no work experience in that particular field after searching for jobs to no avail, but been working in the Business development/ Sales field. I have also been doing some self learning on some online courses on programming cos i love it. I did a one year diploma in information technology at some computer college like that after i finished secondary school.....

My reason for choosing pgd in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is that i plan on switching career into IT. I have a IT background with regards to the one year Diploma in IT and two years work experience in IT before beginning undergraduate studies in Geology.

Do you guys think this is enough to get Study visa ... Asides other requirements...or do i need to go for a course that have to do with geology or my work experience in business development field....
Any advice is welcomed.....thanks guys.

To start with, I don't think that school qualifies for PGWP after graduation oooo as it is a private degree mill college. Kindly be careful and read through before any financial commitment to the school ooo. the school doesn't look at degrees, all they want is your money. that's why they gave you admission without experience nor a previous degree in IT

Then, with 2.1 in Geology even though no experience in that, why not go for MSc in Geology or a related field to prove academic progression. Even the IT course you went for, you don't have experience nor degree in it ( forget about the post-secondary diploma you did after secondary school)

got the same message from VFS and chatted DHL.they asked for my way bill number and I gave them but they said they have not received my envelope.

Hahahaha, is not only you that isn't relaxed too. Every stage has its own tense moments LOl. I Spoke with the DHL rep over the phone, he said they haven't received any parcel from VAC yet, but they always go there every day to collect parcels dropped with a 2-way waybill. that if mine is there, they will surely pick it up and it will reflect in our tracking.

So later I had a chat with VFS, they asked me to send mail to VAC Abuja that they will give me AWB tracking ID. I now wrote to them and they requested my VFS tracking number which I have given them and waiting for their feedback.

So jay316, just relax ok. it will surely come. at most Tuesday next week, it will come.

Please guys, does the attached below mean that DHL has taken the passport from VAC.

I'm not currently at the location( I'm far far away from there) indicated where the DHL will return the parcel. so I want to know abeg
