Please my people i need advice on this, please don't be tired of my questions, i graduated with Economics Education and have been working in a financial institution for 5 years as a credit analyst, the question, is can i apply for 1yr Business certificate program? initially I wanted to do PGD or MBA but am also looking at my pocket, i found that Business Certificate program cheaper?

Secondly all my funds are in microfinance bank, i want to ask if i can use microfianance bank statement of N9m and also commercial bank fixed deposit certificate together?
Hello gifted child,

What I think VO's look at for I either career progression and/or academic progression. Do not choose a course based on cost, but should be based on progression(academically or professionally). Any course you're choosing and when writing your SOP,at first, try to be the VO of your application and ask yourself, how can I prove to a VO who is not seeing me that I'm genuinely going for his course for a particular progression pathway. Also, after writing the sop, ask yourself if what you have written is eye catching and have you explained to the vo critically why you have chosen that course. Try to create and answer all what if and what if not that VO's might think when looking at your application.

Now as regards your course PGD, you already have a degree, with 5 years of experience. Now, what level of grade did you come out with ( I mean 1st class, 2.1 or 2.2)? If 2.2, then PGD is your best bet, otherwise consider masters with funding if money will b an issue. But it doesn't mean a 1st class or 2.1 or even a master degree holder can't for for PGD. Many have and were successful. But in all, you must prove to the VO They that the choice of program and course is your best bet.

As for microfinance banks SOA. I have read if not here or somewhere that they really feel not too convinced with microfinance SOA or what have you from any microfinance( I can't verify that, so I stand to be corrected). So I would advise, if you're to use it as I have seen many use it here though and succeeded, try to back it up with concrete duly sighed and stamped letters from the body to show genuine existence of such funds. Again fixed deposite can serve but proper documents must accompany it.

My thoughts though. All the best

Yes, I read it here when you shared your timeline. Hopefully, the notes would explain in detail what the reason for the refusal is.
Hello Onaya.

Sorry for your refusal. I don't know how closely have established rapour with your sponsor? I would advise you inform him or her of the outcome, beg him or her to write a heart compelling letter to IRCC informing them of importance of your your study and the need to approve your study, citing that you have fully funded scholarship from the department and TA as well. Attach it to your new application. But then, get your note and see what is the VO main comment.

Hello fam my gcms note just arrived. I applied since the 22nd of September, on it is the reason for my delay. I would appreciate any suggestions given on how to tackle this issue. Thanks. Gurus in the house I am loyal.
I think you proved to the VO that the money would be available for the study. But the vo is concerned on the sufficiency of the fund.

My thoughts though

Now when you look at the total cost of your stay and study in Canada in ratio to the money shown, maybe what will be left of the balance won't be much again. This i think may have made the vo to ask him or herself what's the essence of spending most if not almost all the funds in your account just for study.

So are you self sponsored or you're using a sposnor?

Greetings people..,
Kindly point to me schools with low tuition like 8k and below per year and low tuition deposit of below 1,500.
Thanks.
I think University of Saskatchewan and Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador my fall into your tuition range and they don't need any tuition deposit to secure your seat (verify though).

Please, am filling my visa forms now, what is UCI?
If you're a fist time applicant, you do not have a UCI number. So leave it blank. You will only get it once you apply. But if is a reapplication, log into your GCKey, you will see it there. UCI is UNIQUE CLIENT IDENTIFICATION number

Good Morning house. Have been a silent reader and i really appreciate everyone effort. May this Canada journey favor everyone of us.
I just got a medical request from IRCC but am not around now. Can i do the medical anytime or is there any time frame for the medical request to be done...
Hello, you have to be fast about it as nearer slots are almost if not all taken up. And if you read your letter, you will see tht there is a time frame that your medicals must get to IRCC.

So the ball is in your court. All the best

Hello guys.. After making payments for my application, do I wait for IRCC to request for my BIOMETRICS?

Or I should just Book for my BIOMETRICS even before they request for it?
After application, BIL comes 24hours later. But we have seen cases where people's BIL took longer and that document is important and required for your biometrics. So either you wait and book when you get your BIL or you take the chances and book while you wait for your BIL

The Diploma course are targeted towards high school graduates i.e secondary school, so that is a good choice.
Yes. That correct. I was only tasking him to search and see if he/can get an Advanced Diploma in his course area. Where it is not possible, Diploma is best bet.

Hi guys,

I want to run a Canadian Msc program. I just wanted to know if when submitting my documents to the Canadian embassy, if they will confirm all the jobs I worked, both the relevant and irrelevant ones.
For study permit VO has time to write to your employer to confirm the authenticity of the job you stated as they do in PNP or EE application. But it will not be wise to quite jobs that can't be proved with legit employment letter and SOA. Sometimes VO might ask you to submit SOA to be ascertain if you're really in a paid job or you made it up(thinking out loud though).

So please for your own good, be truthful. Everything we quote in our applications must be backed up with documented proof.

Documents advised to be notarized are, sponsor's letter of sponsorship, sponsorship declaration, gift deeds. Etc ( That's if you're using sponsor or someone gifted you something. Outside that, you don't need to notarize anything. But if you choose to notarize them, is still good.

Note that I used advised and bolded it cos is not mandatory to even use a notary lawyer for your documents as it can still be done at state high court's (affidavits). Notarizing documents is costlier than affidavits at courts but carries more weight( as we were made to understand) than affidavit.

Good evening all.
Please i'm new here and just joined nairaland this week.
Please i want to know when applying for a Canadian students visa online, can one uplaod certified/notarised copies of documents or just original documents only?
For some documents, you just need a scanned copy of the originals for upload. While some documents that needs to be legalized, will be notarized.

Note that you don't need to notarize your credentials(certificates) as done for Germany study Visa (if I'm not mistaken)

I applied with the upfront but it was still under review so I had to send it to them via webform before it got updated it was obvious Dey hadn’t opened my file
For your eligibility to start, means it has started and a VO is on your file. I know the wait can be draining, but believe you me, the moment that PPR drops, you won't even remember you waited months for it.

This eligibility review is sha taking time how long is someone supposed to wait before eligibility review start
No one knows the time eligibility review takes. Some takes hrs, some days while some takes weeks and months. Just know that your application is under review by a VO. Just be praying for favorable outcome.

If may ask, have you passed medicals? If yes, was it upfront or requested?

Hello Jumax,

Most Nigerians applications are done in Nairobi. But we have seen some applications with different primary offices.
So I suggest u send to Nairobi, Lagos, London. Infact send to locations you have their links. It will be redirected to your primary office by them.

Thanks for the response. I appreciate.. advanced diploma doesn’t require a Bsc or its equivalent??
Hello Kessy,

Some schools even the college of north Atlantic said in their site that requirements for advanced Diploma is an university/college diploma or certificate. But I think some schools accept WAEC for direct Advanced Diploma (I stand to be corrected)( those with practical experience can help out here). That your course in CNA is just an Ordinary Diploma, so I would suggest you make thorough search to find out if all colleges require a college diploma or certificate to able to go for advanced Diploma. Reason being that, when you're sure of this, you can be able to use it to convince the VO as to why Ordinary Diploma is your best bet.

Thanks.

Good morning house,
I’m new here and please I have some questions.
I’m a 27 years old male who has never been to a higher institution. I have my interest in any degree relating to computer or IT. I have searched for schools that are affordable and it’s not been really easy. I have decided to apply for College of the North Atlantic, 2 years diploma in computer systems & networking. My question are
Please how good is the school?
What’s their admission rate like?
Can I obtain a study permit with ease using their offer letter??
Lastly can anyone recommend affordable computer degree programs ?

The benefit of a positive response towards this cannot be overemphasized. Please please please.

Thanks so much.
Hello Kessy,

I would recommend Advanced Diploma instead of just ordinary Diploma. As for PPR, is all about how beautifully convincing your application is that is backed up with grace of God.

Nothing is impossible with God. Even people with Bsc that went for ordinary diploma got PPR.

The passport office is saying it’ll take about 3 weeks to get a new one since there’s still up to 1year left on the old passport….saying it would have been way quicker if it was almost expired. Please, my question now is will sending this current passport with only 1 year validity be a red flag to the embassy? Can they deny us stamping cause we don’t have enough validity?
As you were already advised, it is never a red flag. Just that they cant stamp beyond the validity of your passport.

Hello everyone.

Please I know some of my questions have already been answered, but checking, I can’t seem to find any links or response.

My sister got her PPR yesterday, however I don’t know what the next steps are. Please I’ll appreciate if anyone can explain what next we are to do. Also, her course is a 2 years course, but her passport is only valid till December next year. Will this be a problem, what can we do so as not to be at a disadvantage.

I’ll appreciate any he’ll I can get please. Thank you.
The next step is to send her passport for stamping which should be in the next 30days.

Since she is going for 2year course and her passport has only 1year validity left, she should have initiated the renewal long before now.

Nevertheless, if she can get it renewed in days fine, she will just get it and send to IRCC by mail nd webform, before sending the new one for stamping. But if she can't, she can still send it like that for stamping. There is always room for permit extension which she can do over there when she renews her passport as they can't stamp more than the expiration of her passport.

Thank you so much for the reply. The personal bank statement submitted did not have much when I submitted it since it’s not as if the salary is much like that. Does this mean I can still go ahead and submit it even though the money is not much?
Yes. Is even better as from the onset, the account didn't show much fund. Now the question is, is the money short of what was submitted or more than at the moment. Either way, so long as you submitted it initially, please include it this time as VO requested for MBS. As VO didn't specify which account to submit MBS, so submit all.

Please, what does this connotes for my medical?
Hello Efizyhenchmen,

I think a IRCC phisican has viewed your medicals but needed another medial review to confirm something before assessing passed.

When I did mine far back at Qlife, I encountered a lady who came back cos her X-ray wasn't done properly. Even mine that day was done twice before the lady asked me to come down that is ok now.

So i don't think is will be a big deal ok.

Good evening all,

I have some questions. Although I have sent messages on this platform and no one answered twice, so please help me answer this I beg in God's name.

First question is when a specific visa office request for mybankstatement ticket what is the way forward?

Secondly is it advisable to submit same for a salary account of an applicant even if not the main sponsor and has stopped working since August. Reason be that it was part of the bank statement submitted with two of the sponsor's bank statements and they request a one year bank statement. The agent is of the opinion not to submit my bank statement for the salary account since the statement submitted initially was more than 6months.

Please kindly advise.
First question is when a specific visa office request for mybankstatement ticket what is the way forward? Answer: The way forward is to send what was requested. In this case, you have to send the MBS for all the account you used/submitted as your POF

For the second question, if they salary account was part of the SOA that was submitted, you will have to submit an MBS for it too. Leaving it out even if you're being sponsored, VO might interpret the intentional act, making him or her think you avoided submitting it maybe because they funds submitted isn't there anymore.

So please as regards what your agents told you, I'm not in support of that as the VO maybe is trying to assertain if the money you used in your POF is still intact or have you returned it back to the owner. So please if the money is intact but just that you have stopped working and earning salary, just attached an LOE, explaining you lost your job within this period. Attach the redundancy letter as well. But then, If you're idle within that period, you can try to justify that you're not idle per say but busy with trainings or voluntary unpaid jobs.

But in all honesty, try to be truthful in your reply.

Just my humble opinion though.

FYI all,

Don't know if Canada is blowing it out of proportion as most western countries do when it comes to matters affecting Africa. But if you're traveling to CA through Ethiopia, I guess you may need keep in touch with your airlines. And If you haven't booked yet but want to book Ethiopian airline, guess you have to call them first to get assurance that all is good and ok

Thanks.
