At OP, there is nothing like calculating the new wage based on basic salary. Federal salary, at least for those of us on CONPSS is consolidated. Whatever percentage increase will be calculated based on your current gross consolidated salary.

The thing tire me. I don't know what is difficult here to understand that these people keep on mentioning basic salary. It is BOLDLY written in the circular that the addition is to the consolidated salary.

It is written in plain and clear terms that the addition will be an increment to your consolidated salary. i.e CONPSS, CONMESS, CONRAISS e.t.c What is consolidated salary (in Nigeria)? It is your basic salary + other allowances (meal, transport, hazard e.t.c) compressed into one. I hope this clears the air

It looks quite easy but very hard to follow, not with hubby breathing on their neck for sex barely two weeks after giving birth, the irregularity of the menstrual cycle after giving birth and the ability to breastfeed on cue especially at night when the nursing mother needs to rest. Just one day of not breastfeeding the baby is enough to render LAM useless. LAM rules states that a woman who is separated from her baby for more than six hours regularly should not expect LAM to be effective. How many present-day women can achieve with the stress of having to return to work as early as two to three months. I won't blame the women that much. It's not that easy on the women at all.

Well, there was nowhere in any of my posts I stated LAM to be 100%. Its effectiveness reduces till the sixth month when it becomes useless. It's quite obvious why LAM will no longer be effective by the six month as the baby keeps growing and can no longer be sustained on breastmilk alone, this means less sucking and ovulation will therefore no longer be suppressed.

Breastfeeding can only prevent pregnancy in the first 6wks after childbirth due to release of the hormone oxytocin, which in turn causes contractions when baby is suckling. As far as period has returned, any rough play it'll result to another foetus.

I am talking out of experience. One of the rules of following with LAM is if your period has not returned which you have mentioned. Trust me people don't follow it bumper to bumper that's why they always fail. It's quite hard to feed a baby on cue which is one of the rules of LAM to be effective. I know many women are quick to substitute breastmilk for other alternatives right from month one, due to the stress of feeding the baby almost every hour at night. If you miss breastfeeding your child for just one day, and you say you want to do LAM then you are deceiving yourself.

On a lighter note, I have seen a woman feeding her baby Peak milk right from month one (not even Peak 1-2-3) due to ignorance. Child is about 4 years now and obese.

I am quite sure, you and your wife did not practice exclusive breastfeeding as that is a form of contraceptive for nursing mother. It's called LAM and 98% effective.

Secondly, abortion is the least of your problem as your wife is barely 4 months before taking in. She has hardly healed. IF YOU PLAN TO KEEP THE CHILD YOUR WIFE NEEDS TO BE MONITORED CLOSELY as this pregnancy is not like the first and could cause her her life. Hopefully this will never happen.
