LuvU2: 6, I like my men tall, dark and handsome Can you just stop parroting that 1800s ideal male look that you know nothing about and come up with something original? This is the only one i agree with, and i've often pondered why Africans say this. Truth is, this phrase is american/western and when white women use it they are referring to tall, dark and handsome white men, not black men, as in the attached pic. African girls generally appear to flock towards light skinned black dudes so clearly, the rule is tall, light and handsome.

Career › Re: Why Must Men Demand To Sleep With Female Marketers Before Buying AD Space? by Kgdavid(m): 3:36pm On Sep 08, 2016 |
bionicman: I have been on this forum nairaland and twitter to place job openings, for several clients and even my company. And i must confess this forum had been helpful, many people apply and some are recruited. Seun is doing a good job, this is about the only surviving forum in Nigeria , i remember when we had a few some years back.
What brings me here? I have recruited some men and ladies here and they have been very hardworking. Lately we recruited markerters for a magazine company and they go out to get customers to buy ad space.
Lately the ladies have been complaining that men ask them to meet them in the hotel to conclude , am asking what do you need to conclude in the hotel room? This men want to have sex with them before they buy advert space in the magazine that does not belong to them.
I have no problem with men wooing a lady, but do not compel her to sleep with you before you buy her product, she is a marketer, and needs to show results to the company.
If a girl is willing to do that she is on her own, i have gone out to pick some of my team members late in the night cos they got held up by a client(MALE) who wanted to take advantage of this very young ladies(22 - 27 years) .
I even have cases of lesbian prospective ad space buyers disturing my female team members. Am just venting, let me get back to my work for the day, i had vented earlier on twitter because i also get some people recruited via twitter.
@naijabloke if you can give me an honest description of the female:male ratio of the marketers you employ, i will give you the answer. |

Her parents gave it to her for a specific purpose and she should have informed them of her intentions. According to the story, it is still the same parents who seem to have paid for her to continue her education. So was it really the girl who gave?I believe what God is interested in is not the amount given but the heart behind the giving. I think the girl should sown all her pocket money instead. She just gave her school fees, knowing her parents would cover her, so where is the sacrifice on her part? |
Politics › Re: Thomas Ekpemupolo, Tompolo's Father Dies - Gbaramatu Voice Newspaper by Kgdavid(m): 5:57pm On Sep 07, 2016 |
TonyeBarcanista: Tompolo I sympathise with your family and the people of Gbaramatu kingdom over the painful loss of your beloved father.
However, if you had surrendered earlier, your father wouldn't have been arrested, brutalized or amputated. Perhaps you would be under trial with some privileges as a citizen. Perhaps you would have been a free man on bail as allegations against you bothers on corruption(not treason) which is a bailable offence.
You would have learnt from Major Isaac Adaka Boro, who had to surrender to the Military Police(During the 12 Days Revolution in February 1966) after the arrest of his father and those of his comrades. He was imprisoned, convicted to death but as God would have it, he was later conscripted into the army along with his boys and given the rank of a Major, and celebrated by the same country that put him on death row. It is not too late
The point is allow posterity be the judge. The Nigeria Army is not professional nor do they understand the rules of engagement. We should not do what will invite them to our household or our land.
However, if the news of torture is true, then Tompolo's Family should lay formal complain before the NHRC, The Army and the Presidency.
RIP to the late High Chief 1. Are you saying that Tompolo somehow had some information that the army were going to brutalize his father if he did not surrender himself? If not then why would he have surrendered himself to prevent an attack which he has no foreknowledge of? 2. Even if he had surrendered himself, what stops the army from going ahead to brutalize the old man? 3. The actions of the army indicate a level of desperation and a frightening proclivity for violence. Is Tompolo not right to feel unsafe? Given these conditions, Tompolo acted right. He is in no way responsible for the murder of his father by irresponsible elements of the Nigeria army. |

Politics › Re: Why Guns Should Be Legalized In Nigeria by Kgdavid(m): 1:58am On Sep 03, 2016 |
Fact is, gun ownership will require regulation for which a framework just doesn't exist at the moment.
1. Who will monitor who is buying guns? Who will monitor who buys guns and then resells them? Who will check that the buyers of guns are sane?
2. Who will verify the skill level of gun users? stray bullets will kill the innocent as happily as they would the guilty.
3. History has proven that violent deterrents to crime do not work. To solve the problem, you need to address the root: poverty and socio-economic deprivation.
3. The average violent criminal is often one with a do or die mentality and is ready to do the worst. So while you may frighten some petty thieves with a shot or two in the air, you better be ready for your private version of Sambisa forest if you are thinking of confronting some hardened and well armed, often drugged up, hungry street boys with very little to lose. |
Politics › Re: Why Guns Should Be Legalized In Nigeria by Kgdavid(m): 1:50am On Sep 03, 2016 |
uyi26: Many people don’t seem to realize the benefit of legalizing guns in Nigeria. They think of the disadvantages alone, not the advantages. Why are we narrow-mindedly opinionated about this issue?
1. Men go into a house to rape a defenseless girl. Would they try that if they knew she’s armed with a gun? Rapists want to rape and live, not to rape and die.
2. Many aged parents still cry days and nights, while their broken souls plead for vengeance. Their innocent children were killed in Jos and elsewhere while they were serving their fatherland.
3. In Nigeria, most criminals want to do bad things to people and go scot-free. If they knew people had guns as well, they would think twice.
4. I must be blunt, what gives most criminals the gut to attack people is because people are defenseless. If 20 assassins go to a man’s house, they’ll kill him. But the man can kill up to 3 of them before he dies. This is better than when the man is killed without being able to kill anyone in return.
5. One-Chance, terrorists, herdsmen, militants, money ritualists, armed robbers, thugs, bullies, etc., are able to go away unscathed in most cases because their victims don’t have guns. To be frank, those who attack you have power over you only because they’re armed and you’re not.
6. If most members communities have guns in their hands, do you think armed robbers would like to go to their lion’s den to molest them?
7. Militants that terrorize communities would be afraid to do so; unless they’re going on suicide missions. The same is true of mad Jihadists. No mad or rabid dog would deliberately run into a burning fire.
8. Domestic violence would cease…. A corrupt cop would cease pointing their gun to a poor and helpless okada rider because of N100.
9. Lazy thugs that collect money they don’t work for would think twice before they start cursing or threatening their victims, ordering for money they don’t work for.
10. It’s true, many people would die. But the remaining people alive would sit right. They would show respect for one another. Politeness would prevail and crimes would be reduced to almost zero. Isn’t there any sense in this?
P.S Seun please tell your mods to move this to the front page. Point 1 makes sense, however point 2 is merely literature as you have expressed no point in relation to the subject, and point 3 through 9 are merely repetitions of the same idea (which is that guns are a deterrent to violent crime). Furthermore, point 10 is not a point, but is the conclusion of your argument. |

In the first place i can assure you that even at home in the US this guy probably moves around with a sophisticated security team. fuke: Ok ‘Prof’’
Let us take this further.
The software did not fault your sentence because it treated the word ‘ways ‘ as a group. In that case, it will OK the sentence.
Now, because the software suspected deficiency in the sentence, it suggested an alternative.
Please see line three of the attachments, you will see where it suggests alternatives and the alternative given.
In the two examples I used earlier, it did not suggest alternatives. That is the difference.
Be rest assured dear 'prof', my English grammar is Ok, not perfect but not horrible. WAEC said so (A3 1971) and Ezine articles too.(Expert Author)
So long. 1971? Wow. Baba, with all due respect, you are wrong. 1. The only deficiency spotted by that software was the fact that you started the sentence with a small letter instead of capital letter. The fact is that the software itself reported back that there was no error, whereas there was a glaring and obvious error. The alternatives provided are inconsequential, once it has claimed there are no errors. If i didn't know better and i was using this software, that is how i may have used it's recommendation in a document and embarrassed myself. 2. Why on would it treat "ways" as a group? A group of what? The sentence was terribly wrong and the software claimed it was right. Period. That software therefore cannot be relied upon. 3. The software offering alternatives is not because it suspects anything is wrong. The attached is what i got when i entered a copy of the exact same text i found when i first logged on to the grammar checker page of the website ( http://www.gingersoftware.com/grammarcheck#.V8WpZ_mLTIU). Their very own example statement which is undoubtedly grammatically sound, still prompted loads of alternative statements.
