@ Sanciro; take your NYSC certificate along it is a good tool if you know how to use it. Tell the consular you deliberately waited to observe the program to prepare for your return after the US masters. You can only work in Nija if you have the cert and you know you might have exceeded the age limit on your return hence you did it now instead of later.

U can include that to the documents, u will be taking to the embassy, don't talk about if u are nt ask any question regarding abt it all, cos the consular might want to tackle u about it , if u dont av a cogent reason for doing a B.eng or Bsc in yanks since u av HND, one mait be deny, jst try and guide against those loop holes.Please be brief in ur answer cos A long word brings another question. after all the Biometricsand all that I took me seat
at the other end were immigrant visas applicant
There were 3 consular officers (with the dreaded one on glasses in the middle besides anoda guy on the Biometrics,
Then the guy just b4 wit me was called and and just afterwards, bros with glasses just asked me to come with a wave of the hand,

ME: good morning
CO: good morning (with same breathe asking for me I-20, passp etal)
then all of a sudden dropped 'em and started doing other stuffs,
meanwhile i was baffled @ why call me over when u never ready 4me? anyway afterwards
CO: why r u going to the US?
Me:Studies:
What program?
Masters of fin. math?
CO: pause to look up and says "fin. math"as if surprised then added what school?
Me: UMN
CO: why this skool?
ME: started giving reasons and lastly told him that i chose it over FSU who also admitted me cos theirs (UMN) is more math intensive than FSU's
CO: u take any standardised test scores?
Yes, and hands it over over to him.
CO: looks @ it and perhaps is surprised by the contrast btw the verbal and Quant scores, then nods his head,
CO: where is MN geographically located?
For my mind, i remembered seadog asking me this online yesterday,

ME: quickly cuts in, MN is a mid-western state bordered to the N by canada to the E by WI, to the W by ND & SD & to the S by IA,  in full though using my hand to indicate N,W,E,S,

Then started the famous typing, afterwards hands me back I-20 and sevis receipt reconfirms my departure date and says study hard,
thanked him too and by 8:38am i was outta there,

And to u guys wey dey Carry fake result up and down. Please beware! TO BEFORE WARN IS TO BEFORE HARM. There are people seeking for visa on a good ground and they are geniune visa applicant. Dont cause wahala for them in getting Visa. At this point I rest me case.

by 9:00 we were inside,i told d fine lady i met at the counter about my situation and she told me to go and refill anoda 1 outside,
dos guys outside ar makin a hell of money outsyde d consulate to fill a form i fill by myself 7k,
i went bak insyde and started chekin d consulate out and tellin GOD insyde my heart dat i want d 1 dat will not ask 2 much question.
i got d guy in cubicle 2 and bet u d guy ask me a question 3ce,

I will advice you to apply to other schools and print out the mails sent to each other,even if the time frame for applying had elapsed,because this question will surely be asked again,and this time,you need to show them that you really worked on other schools not only on words of mouth but with proof,and try as much as possible to go through this thread from the very first page, cos almost everybody that got their visa here never applied to only one school.2,3,4 etc.

AT this point he looks at my I 20 throughly, now the amount the school said i had for the funds far exceeded the tuition and the living expenses ,

however i dont have any documents proving to them that i would come back, is that ok?what do u guys suggest, my program goes on for 18months.
The money in my personal account isnt substantial enough , i do have shares but not millions of naira worth, the hospital i work in presently offered to take me back when i come back, but thatll be dec 2011, is that too far to get a promise of a job offer considering its government owned?, as i plan to come back after finishing the programme.

just be rest assure that u will get it, also i will advice you to knw more abt the school and the state. most importantly pls av good knowledge abt the course. And tell the consular evrything on your I-20, good luck broda . waiting to hear the good news.

I was not giving a refusal letter.They only gave me a letter that states that :an admistrative processing is required .No further action on your part neccesary consular section will contact you when case is ready.

But Kenzema the other guy wae certificate was return immediately and he was giving a refusal letter why was mine withheld?

@ legzy100, It seems the consular do not want you to feel depressor sumtin abt it, but normally he is suppose to retain your passport, My advise is d@ u av to reapply again and get all the necessary documents ready and been advise by odas here and ALSO PRAY AND BELIEVE IN GOD THAT HE WILL GET THE VISA FROM T CONSULAR COS THAT IS THE MIRACLE I EXPERIENCE LAST WEEK.
