PoliticsRe: #thelist Trends On Twitter As Nigerians Await Buhari's Ministers by Kiakia(m): 8:44pm On Sep 29, 2015
Is it not better to keep vigil at the National Assembly to be among the first that will behold the unveiling of the 36 wise and "incorruptible, clean as a whistle" Nigerians that will help President Buhari take the country to el dorado. There was a country!
PoliticsRe: List Of 84 Senators That Passed Vote Of Confidence On Saraki by Kiakia(m): 8:38pm On Sep 29, 2015
Partners in crime. What did you expect? Protecting one of their own. Only in Nigeria! On the first day of resumption after an undeserved two months vacation, what this bunch did was to pass a meaningles vote of confidence on a man accused of false declaration of assets which tantamounts to corruption. I scanned the newspapers to check if any serious legislative work took place today only to read of senators passing a vote of confidence on Saraki. Nigerians, where are we really headed to? What has changed in the National Assembly from the PDP days? Nothing unfortunately. When shall we get it right? And these guys earn fat salary and allowances for doing practically nothing except bicker for positions for perfection of their corrupt acts. But one day, just one day, all these will come to pass. We await the Buhari wand that will cleanse this country and make her citizens proud to answer Nigerians. Until then, we wait.
PoliticsRe: Saraki’s Trial: PDP Plots To Pick Senate President by Kiakia(m): 9:05am On Sep 24, 2015
But the PDP already have a Senate President. Or am I the only one not seeing things clearly?
PoliticsRe: Dwindling Revenue: FG, States, Lgs Share N422.6bn August Allocation by Kiakia(m): 8:55am On Sep 24, 2015
FG, States and LGA share August Allocation. But do the LG's access their allocation directly? Are the states not partakers of the LGA so-called allocation aside their own allocation? Why are State governors in this clime so greedy? Do one then wonder why there is hardly any elected LGA official in the States? Does one wonder why there is no visible and tangible development going on at this level of government? The little the avaricious state governors appropriates to them from the LGA account is used to pay salaries and nothing else. Local governments no longer tar roads or build markets, cottage hospitals, maternities, etc due to lack of funds to execute these projects. Money meant for this purpose has been stolen by the governors. Methinks Local Government Autonomy is long overdue. PMB should focus his anti-corruption crusade on the goings-on in the LGAs.
PoliticsRe: Yoruba Youth Accuses Buhari Of Witch-hunting by Kiakia(m): 3:59pm On Sep 21, 2015
Never heard about this group previously. Was it formed yesterday solely to front for Saraki? Is the group registered according to law? Can they substantiate their claim that Buhari is responsible for the Saraki debacle? The president has denied involvement in the prosecution of Saraki at the CCT. What is so difficult in accepting this fact? Nigerian's should learn to believe their President.
PoliticsRe: Saraki:CCT Does Not Have Equal Jurisdiction With the High court- Agbakoba by Kiakia(m): 4:52pm On Sep 19, 2015
With all due respect, I disagree with the legal opinion canvassed by the learned silk on the co-ordinate jurisdiction of the FHC with the CCT. FHC does not have supervisory rights over the CCT and judicial review of the Rulings and/or Judgments of the CCT does not lie to the FHC but to the Court of Appeal. In this wise, it can be argued that both courts (in this case,Tribunal) have co-ordinate jurisdiction since Appeals on decisions of the two lies with the Appeal Court. Recourse to inferior and superior courts by the learned silk, Olisa Agbakoba begs the question and is projected to confuse the unwary. Thus, CCT cannot answer to the FHC and abdicate it's responsibilities on the phantom claim by Senator Saraki that the FHC Order implied that he will no longer answer to the Summons to appear at the CCT to answer to the fraud and other charges preferred against him. In any event, the FHC Ruling did not estoppe the arraignment of Senator Saraki at the CCT last Friday. He should have answered the Summons and thereat, raise any preliminary objection he wished on the matter instead of staying in his office and concluding that his presence was no longer needed in line with the supposed FHC Ruling. The learned Silk should have addressed these issues instead of regaling the uninformed about superior and inferior courts.
PoliticsRe: CCT: Court Orders Saraki's Arrest by Kiakia(m): 3:30pm On Sep 18, 2015
Saraki ought to know that tha Abuja court did not stop his arraingnment but only for the Respondents to be put on Notice in a Motion he filed in that regard. Sending his team of lawyers to flash a document before the Tribunal is not a substitute for his arraignment. He should have showed respect to our institutions by appearing in court and therein raise whatever objections he wished through his so-called team of lawyers. This team of lawyers are inept in not advising their client on court procedure. The enticement of filthy lucre must have beclouded their sense of reasoning. What Saraki did was disrespectful and a highly provocative contempt of court. He ought to know better. The Warrant issued for his arrest was in order but can it be implemented right through? In Nigeria, implementing court order on our "big men" is done in reverse order. Only in Nigeria!
PoliticsRe: Pat Utomi. Falana, Odiemegkwe, Oyinlola Screened To Be Appointed Ministers by Kiakia(m): 7:46pm On Sep 14, 2015
Oyinlola on that List? I shudder! Where then is the change this government promised? Is this government really ready to fight corruption to a stand-still? Why the long wait then to appoint Ministers and other aides of government if politicians of yester-years will stil be re-cycled to form the government of PMB? The answer is waiting in the wind, my friends!
PoliticsRe: Okorocha’s Trip To Turkey Cripples State, As Workers Lament Govt Insincerity by Kiakia(m): 7:36pm On Sep 14, 2015
The government of President Muhamadu Buhari shoul sent a bill ASAP to the National Assembly for the repeal of Section 308 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigera,1999 as amended if truly he wants to fight corruption in all it's ramifications. This section of the constitution has outlived it's usefulness in our present day Nigeria and does not bear relevance any longer. PMB must start his fight to exterminate corruption from here!
PoliticsRe: Fayose Doesn’t Have Mud Houses, Cattle Herds As Assets – Aide by Kiakia(m): 5:19pm On Sep 09, 2015

PoliticsRe: “I Know Where Buhari’s Wealth Is Hidden” – Fayose by Kiakia(m): 5:06pm On Sep 09, 2015
Fayose does not need to tell us where the President's wealth is hidden. We all know. They are contained in his Asset Declaration Form. I though that the actions of a governor in the act of governance puts him in the limelight all the time. Why does Governor Fayose prefer to be in the limelight for the wrong reasons? Why does he court media attention all the time? Why the attachment to controversy? And to worsen matters, his constant attack on the President and his government has not provoked a single response from the Presidency thus making it appear as if his rantings are that of an unserious person which should be ignored. Fayose has, indeed, reduced governance to a child's play!
PoliticsRe: We’ll Never Hang Buhari’s Portrait In Our Offices –PDP by Kiakia(m): 8:12am On Sep 09, 2015
Pursuing shadow. Does it make any difference whether they hang the portrait of the President in their party office or not? No big deal! The Party should be alive to it's responsibility of playing credible and vibrant oppostion than dwelling on pettiness. They are bigger than. Why tell the whole world that they do not recognise the President and therefore will not hand his portrait on the wall in their secretariat if not to score cheap popularity and unnecessary bravado among their party men. This Party should get serious if they hope to remain relevant in the scheme of things in Nigeria.
PoliticsRe: Buhari’s Undisclosed Share At Panalpina W.T Revealed - Daily Post by Kiakia(m): 9:30pm On Sep 06, 2015
And what will the media aides react to? The report did not indicate if PMB is still receiving dividends from those shares, or if he still maintains them. Is Panalpina still existing as a company doing business in Nigeria? These are pertinent issues the Reporter should have included in his report to bring his readers up to speed and not rushing to the Press with a piece of document which was quoted extensively. Besides, the President is yet to make a full disclosure of his Assets to the public.
PoliticsRe: Adesina, Oteh’s Appointments Show We Had A World-class Economic Team – Jonathan by Kiakia(m): 9:15pm On Sep 06, 2015
Only two out of the whole lot and we are hearing 'world class' economic team? I recall that Akpabio used those two words to describe the hospital he commissioned but was flown abroad for treatment instead of at his world class hospital. Did the actions of these 'world class' economic team affect the life of ordinary Nigerians while they held sway? World class indeeed! Tell me another, please.
PoliticsRe: Photo Of Senator Godswill Akpabio On His Hospital Bed In London by Kiakia(m): 1:55am On Sep 06, 2015
Only gullible Nigerians will be deceived and actually believe this scam picture which shows Akpabio on a hospital bed. On a hospital bed? What a joke! The man obviously took this picture to attract unmerited sympathy and, maybe, delay the hearing of the Petition against him as demonstrated by the Application made by his lawyer in that regard so that time will elapse but the Tribunal was wiser in rejecting that dubious Application. Now that this gamble did not pay off, Akpabio should do well to enter his private jet and return back to Nigeria to face the Tribunal and the probe of his wasteful administration by the EFCC. He should stop wasting tax payers money in the pretext of receiving treatment in a foreign hospital as I am sure his State government is footing the bill. "Uncommon Tansformation" indeed!

The unofficial spokesman of PDP has spoken. Where is Olisa Metuh?
PoliticsRe: Okorocha, Tinubu Set To Clash Over Ministerial Nomination by Kiakia(m): 6:14pm On Sep 05, 2015
Clash? This clash must be in the imagination of the Reporter. But members of the splinter group of APGA that joined other parties to form APC are not known. Methinks the Governor is the sole member of this splinter group which performed wonders to ensure the victory of APC in the last Presidential election.
PhonesRe: SIM Validation: MTN Apologises To Subscribers by Kiakia(m): 6:02pm On Sep 05, 2015
The agents and retail outlets are charging subscribers for the verifcation. There are no lines or queue in these places and the process is concluded within minutes. MTN should compesate their customers with freebies for the inconveniences.
PoliticsRe: Despite Confirmation By PDP, Akwa Ibom Governor Denies SSS Invasion.. by Kiakia(m): 5:45pm On Sep 05, 2015
Really? No invasion? Then, why all the fuse by Fayose and Secondus. Crying more than the bereaved. Fayose even described the incident as he was there. Appaling.
PoliticsRe: Mixed Reactions Trail Buhari’s Assets Declaration-PUNCH by Kiakia(m): 5:36pm On Sep 05, 2015
There is no provision in our statute books which compels the President and his Vice to declare their assets publicly. I cannot remember Obasanjo and Jonathan declaring their assests publicly when they held sway as Presidents of this country. No fuse was made about that. That both Buhari and Osinbajo decided to to tow the path of rectitude by declaring their assets to the public was of their own volition. How many Ministers and other top government officials declare their assets publicly? How many of them have made public what they own at the end of their tenure as required by law? Nigerians are so much in a hurry to criticise and condemn in their holier-than-thou attitude. The two gentlemen only made a partial disclosure of their assets through a media aide. They are to fully do this. The media aide even gave an inkling that full disclosure will be done in due course, yet Nigerians want to stampede the natural course of events. I wil urge restraint in this regard. Things will gradually unfold.
SportsRe: Nigeria Vs Tanzania : AFCON Qualifier (0 - 0) ON 5th September 2015 by Kiakia(m): 5:11pm On Sep 05, 2015
Following the sterling performance of debutant, Ikpeme in goal for the Super Eagles against Tanzania in Dar es Sallam, shoul the handlers of the Eagles fret when Enyeama is not available? From my estimation, Enyeama got a challenge on his hands. It will no longer be a stroll in the park for him. We now have a capable replacement.
PoliticsRe: PHOTOS: Wike Commissions 1200 Seater Law Faculty Complex by Kiakia(m): 10:18pm On Sep 02, 2015
Superlative performance? But if I may ask,did Wike start and complete that building he commissioned within this short span of three months since he assumed office? I might think that the immediate past administration in the State awarded the contract for that structure. But if he did, kudos to him. I hope he will sustain the tempo and not fizzle out once he feels he has gotten the people's confidence. Governor Okorocha of Imo State started exactly the same way four years ago, but what have we now? Reverse seems to be the case as things are no longer the same. But we continue to keep our fingers crossed. Nigerian politicians are adept at breaking campaign promises and are mostly unpredictable as their guiding principle appears to be self preservation and rescue of their lean pockets. Insatiable lot!
SportsRe: Segun Odegbami Runs For FIFA Presidency by Kiakia(m): 9:44pm On Sep 01, 2015
This is a joke, right? Somebody should tell that this is a joke. Does Segun Odegbami have the pedigree to contest for FIFA Presidency? I cannot recall him being in administrative position in any football body previously or curently, and even if he had been, the best procedure would have been to start from headship of the local Football Federation to garner the requisite experience and international contacts to lead a larger body such as CAF and then, FIFA. That is the expected progression method. He cannot aspire to headship of World football governing body just like that. My thought, though.
PoliticsRe: See What Ayo Fayose Was Spotted Doing Today At A Market In Ikere-ekiti.. Photos by Kiakia(m): 8:31pm On Sep 01, 2015
@dammytosh. You are right on point. My thoughts exactly. What is he really doing? Is this governance? Is he running a one man government? Does he not have a designated government official who can do that "foundation level" building inspection? It appears that this governor has no serious work or matters to attend to. He is always on the streets doing one publicity stunt or another. He seems to crave media attention a lot. Well, good for him.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan, Reason We Can't Give School Kids Free Meal Or Pay N5,000 Monthly- APC by Kiakia(m): 8:05pm On Aug 30, 2015
This volte-face early in the day on campaign promises could backfire in 2019. Nigrians are now more discerning and are watching. During election time, they will use their vote to bare their minds on the performance or otherwise of the incumbent administration. APC should start getting their priorities right.

PoliticsRe: Oyegun: Henceforth APC Will Be More Involved In Buhari's Appointments by Kiakia(m): 9:16am On Aug 30, 2015
I believe Oyegun said this to assuage the angst occasioned by Buhari's latest appointments and to calm frayed nerves. He really does not mean it as the party has since lost control of their creation. Flabergasted Nigerians does not expect a reversal of Buhari's riotous mind on the issue of appointments. But let us keep our fingers crossed.

PoliticsRe: Ogbonnaya Onu's Views On The Appointment Of The SGF - Ajayi Temitope by Kiakia(m): 10:42am On Aug 29, 2015
Hearsay. Not admissible in our law courts. Op also breached the rule of disclosure because the contents were published, I believe, without the consent of his friend who allegedly spilled all this to him or the man who supposedly had a conversation with the President. Ogbonnaya Onu would not disclose his private conversation with the President to a supposed friend who will relay same to another without qualms or even to the public assuming this story is true which I doubt it's authenticity. People should not believe or swallow hook, line and sinker any political story they hear these days without verifying the source.
PoliticsRe: Let's Look At Buhari's Appointments From Another Angle by Kiakia(m): 10:21pm On Aug 28, 2015
No matter how you look at, the appointments so far made by this administration is skewed heavily in favour of a particular section of the country and this is not fair to other ethnic groups. Buhari contested election to the Presidency of this country three times and failed on all the occasions. It took the political sagacity and ingenuity of Bola Tinubu to aggregate other political parties into one united party to achieve the feat of installing Buhari the President of this country, something he was unable to do in the past and could still not had done save for the pulling together of resources by these various parties now rolled into one. But today, Buhari is acting as if he won the election on the strength of his political party alone, neglecting the efforts of others who mobilised men and material which enabled the electoral success in the first place. I perceive him as not giving a damn about the reaction of his fellow party men across all divides in announcing appointments into positions without even spread. I forsee an implosion in APC and sabotage of this administration by the aggrieved party members should this trend continue. Consultation with party officials when taking key decisions is necessary in a democracy because it was on it's pedestal that an elected official rode into power. We voted for change but the change has to be positive and all embracing, and cannot be achieved when other sections of the country are neglected when making key appointments. Buhari should tread with caution in this area and apply the principle of federal character in future appointments to douse the tension already generated by his imbalanced appointments so far. He should make every Nigerian have a sense of belonging in his administration.
SportsRe: Sunday Oliseh Nissan-Altima Official Car (Photo) by Kiakia(m): 5:20pm On Aug 25, 2015
What of the car used by Stephen Keshi? Or he did not use official car? Football Federation officials should know that a new government is in place and 'change' is their mantra. We all have to change our way of doing things. The President rejected the request to purchase new vehicles for him on assumption of office, preferring instead to use the cars left behind by former President, Jonathan. Ministries and parastals of government should follow this lead.
