PoliticsRe: Senators, Reps Want SAN Title-punch by Kiakia(m): 4:49pm On Aug 25, 2015
Sacrilege! These guys want to desecrate the title of SANship and lower it's quality in the eyes of the discerning public. Enang and his co-travellers should realise that the rank of SAN is bestowed on hardworking and erudite lawyers who practice daily in our law courts, and have so practiced in Appeal and Supreme courts of our land. It is not meant to be conferred on idle lawmakers who claim to be lawyers in the National Assembly and in that capacity, make laws which the lawyers employ in the courts to win cases and in the process attain the prestigious rank. The fact that these lawyers work in the National Assembly and pass the laws(which they rarely do,anyway)does not qualify them for automatic conferment of the title. If they so desire or crave the rank so much, they shoul resign from the Assembly and engage in active legal practice. They cannot eat their cake and have it back. By so doing, they will be meeting the criteria for the award of SAN by the Privileges Committee of NBA.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Fought Corruption In More Civilized Way Than Buhari - Falana by Kiakia(m): 4:14pm On Aug 25, 2015
I have always had regard for Femi Falana but this time, he disappoints me. Why is he speaking from both sides of the mouth now? He observed all this during the regime of Jonathan and was not man enough to voice it out then. For his Information, PMB has not started the real fight against corruption yet. I believe he is still gathering necessary data to that effect, and doing so subtly. Buhari is about three months in office. Comparing the methods employed in fighting corruption between the two governments at this time is premature, and to my mind, prejudged. Such comparison will be appropriate after the tenure of the incumbent administration.
PoliticsRe: I Want To Unite South East Leaders With Buhari – Okorocha by Kiakia(m): 4:02pm On Aug 25, 2015
Okorocha wants to unite South East leaders with Buhari? On which platform does he intend to achieve that? In any event, are the so called leaders from South East in disagreement or quarelling with the President? Okorocha should stop over-rating himself and be able to know his limits. He is not even in tandem with prominent Igbo leaders in his State, not to talk of the entire South East. He should rather concentrate on providing real dividends of democracy to his "people" in this his second spell as Governor of the "Eastern Heartland". A word is enough for the wise.
PoliticsRe: ''Wanted: Maximum Security For Mr. President As Corruption Fights Back'' by Kiakia(m): 3:28pm On Aug 25, 2015
Corruption is really fighting back. One can now understand why Nigeria is high up on the corruption Index rating by TI. But PMB must not relent. This is one battle he has to win if he hopes to retain his "Mr Clean" image in the eyes of expectant Nigerians. It is heart-warming that he has vowed to fight corruption to a stand-still despite the brutal attacks aimed at him by the rampaging looters of our resources. Nigeria must be great again.
EducationRe: University Status: Alvan Ikoku "University" Of Education Is Boiling (photo) by Kiakia(m): 9:11am On Aug 25, 2015
Some posts here made sense. I now seem to understand that a government cannot just decide to convert a College of Education to a University, thus changing it's status overnight, without it meeting basic criteria of being properly called a University. Even though AlCE has been in existence for a whie now, it cannot really metarmorphose to a University overnight without basic requirements that obtains in more established Universities such as the qualification of the lecturers(Msc. minimum) and number of Professors among the teachers, etc. However, I believe these criteria can still be met if the upgrade is allowed to stand and efforts made to meet the requirements.
PoliticsRe: Osun State Judge In Husband Snatching Drama by Kiakia(m): 8:31am On Aug 25, 2015
And where was this woman since 2011? She just woke up to realise that the learned Judge was dating her husband? And who told her that she still has a husband after her spouse deserted her since 2011? Why did she not complain to the Judicial authorities since 2011 or even the year after concerning her husband's infidelity with a member of the bench? I believe she is being used by the Osun State government to dent the impecable carrer of this Judge. She should desist because they will simply use her to achieve their purpose and thereafter dump her. She should resolve whatever issues she has with her husband and refrain from bringing it to the public domain.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Should Primary School Education Be Added To A CV? by Kiakia(m): 9:56pm On Aug 22, 2015
FSLC is an important addition in a CV as it helps determine the actual or approximate age of prospective Applicant for employment. This is apart from Birth Certificates and Affidavits of age found in the official files of employees.
PoliticsRe: Non-appointment Of Ministers Shows Buhari’s Military Hangover – Nwabueze by Kiakia(m): 5:28pm On Aug 20, 2015
Patience Nigerians, Patience! What is the big deal here? It is my thinking that all the hullabaloo about non-appointment of Ministers by President Buhari is misguided and misdirected. The man has given an indication of when he will appoint the so called Ministers, yet Nigerians are not satisfied. They continue to heat up the polity unnecessarily and over nothing. If appointing Ministers means appointing the likes of Abba Moro, Diezani Allison-Madueke, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala et all, then the President should hold on for another six months instead of hurriedly appointing another set of treasury looters that will add nothing to the economy and life of ordinary Nigerians.
PoliticsRe: Imo Assembly Workers Lock-out Lawmakers Over Unpaid Salaries by Kiakia(m): 4:34pm On Aug 20, 2015
The speaker said that the Governor was not in the State. This Governor is not always in the State! Does a man pursue rat while his house burns? The Imo State Government is owing backlog of salary arrears to various categories of workers. For instance, salary of workers in a particular Ministry was slashed by as much as 70%, while in others, it was by 50%. Can you imagine this? And this was effected without due consultation with the affected workers or the Labour Unions. This unilateral decision by the Government has disrupted the industrial harmony enjoyed in the State for the past four years. The Governor should do the needful by restoring the seamless payment of salaries to workers as previouosly obtained. He should also remember the pensioners who are being owed several months of accumulated pension arrears and gratuities.

PoliticsRe: Dele Olugbemi Rejects Fayose's Appointment, Shuns Screening by Kiakia(m): 10:12pm On Aug 19, 2015
Imagine! A mere member of a House of Assembly Commission, not even the Chairman. And you expect a former Speaker of a House of Assembly, even if factional, to accept such a ludicrous position which, I am sure, he considers infra dig for a person of his social standing. Haba Fayose!

PoliticsRe: Sultan Of Sokoto To Buhari: Corrupt Officials Should Go To Jail by Kiakia(m): 5:28pm On Aug 18, 2015
Thought I read somewhere today on Nairaland that this man shielded Alison-Madueke from corruption probe? A volte-face? Well, maybe.
PoliticsRe: Benue South Tribunal: David Mark In Court, Refuses To Enter Witness Box by Kiakia(m): 5:24pm On Aug 18, 2015
And he thinks he is now above the Nigerian laws? So, where did he testify from if indeed he testified in court today? The mentality of some Nigerians, eeh. Hard to understand.

PoliticsRe: $12billion Taken Out Of Nigeria During Jonathan's Regime – EFCC Boss, Lamorde by Kiakia(m): 5:05pm On Aug 18, 2015
And this man slept for the five years of Jonathan administration! He just woke up to realise that all those billions of dollars were spirited away to foreign countries, and he was supposed to be the gatekeeper against corruption! I thought the law establishing that anti-graft Agency made it independent. And this Lamorde guy did not deem it fit to hide under this law to perform his duties. Unbelievable!
EducationRe: Photo: A Teacher Punishing Some Students For Noise Making by Kiakia(m): 4:48pm On Aug 18, 2015
This is condemnable. Why should the students be subjected to such corporal punishment for just making noise in class? I am sure they must have carried those blocks on their while kneeling down on the hard surface for several hours, and no doubt under the scorching sun! Schools should devise other subtle means of punishing erring students than this public display of misplaced authority.
CareerRe: Did I Make A Mistake Studying Law? by Kiakia(m): 4:30pm On Aug 18, 2015
This is the first time I am reading or hearing a lawyer lament about being a lawyer, a course she (I believe it's a "she") willy nilly chose and pursued just because of the fear of collecting a paltry pay on being employed in a law firm. Ludicrous, to say the least. And to learn from her post that she is still serving her fatherland as a corper! She must have been thought in the law school that new wigs do not start out big. She must also have been taught that you do not put earning big money front burner but to learn the basics or the nitty-gritty of litigation, something called 'learning the ropes'. In later years, and as the fresher climbs the ladder of the legal profession, the money will start coming in. I will advise her not to live in regret but to glow in the pride of being admitted into the noble circle of learned men.

SportsRe: Vincent Enyeama Shares Domestic Picture by Kiakia(m): 4:09pm On Aug 18, 2015
No big deal. Enyeama cleaning his house, which I believe is make-belief for the camera, should not be displayed on front page.

CrimeRe: 16-Year-Old Girl Caught In The Bush Sleeping With 52 Men In Anambra - The Sun by Kiakia(m): 9:03am On Aug 18, 2015
What blockheads get into in the name of being initiated into a cult. What benefits are there if not destruction and regret thereafter, yet some dumbs will hasten to rush to a cult group for such harrowing initiation practices just to feel belonged. Nauseating! Oh Soyinka. Your noble intentions in the past has metamorphosed into ruinous act for our youths. What are you doing to stop this trend? FG should take a second look at this phenomenon.
