ezeagu:
Leave Jamaica, that is Igbo Obeah country. The oyinboes (a word first used by Olaudah Equiano cool) that dealt with the Yoruba were not as 'serious' as the British. The Portuguese and sometimes Spanish were not serious in their 'Empire building' and they took too many slaves to South America, most from Angola/Congo, and the other majority from Yoruba. The Igbo religion did not survive like the Yoruba religion did in South America in any British colony of the time because there were no saints to hide their religion in, the slaves were not pushed into their own quarters as freely unchecked in British colonies, and the plantation owners were very strict.
Excuses embarassed

Anyway, since you are my Igbo brotha, I will give you Jamaica. But you have Ethiopians to contend with. Remember? Erm, jah men and Haile Selassie?

But we wuz there though, we even left a town behind in Jamaica; http://books.google.com/books?id=QXtf548ntu8C&pg=PA26&lpg=PA26&dq=soyinka's+trip+to+bekuta+Jamaica&source=bl&ots=TilTXXn7Ai&sig=J8Sjwrio2XY0rxQCQRZuoSkubsE&hl=en

According to Kongi himself, we abandoned the Rum and went back to our palmwine, we left the reggea for Agidigbo. Gotta love Soyinka cheesy

It's ok though, you can have jamo. We have the rest of The Americas cool

You think there's no one in the east attending to those Arushi?

grin
I will be happy if y'all can drop that Oyinbo-Catholic thing, roll out the masquerade, revive the Okija shrines and let Amadioha and long-juju reign supreme again. Be like us bro wink

If they fall short, ask our Orisas for help, our Irunmoles don't hate! I'm rooting for Ndigbo here! You have my support  cool

Now I'm done for real. I enjoyed the banter bro.

@Ezeuche, Thank you bro. Keep working hard at it. We need to seize the cultural and religious initiative back. Whoever controls the culture controls power.

Stand with us ok? We already have a whole chunk of Nigeria dancing to our music and language via Lagos. cool

You guys are doing well colonizing parts of Africa through movie production and marketing. But you'll need Yoruba help to make the cultural hegemony stick though. Even some young Kenyans and Zambians act like they are Nigerians these days, effects of nollywood. cool  cheesy

Anyways I've colonized this thread enough. Now I rest.
The Fulani would not have survived in our forest environment. What horses could they use against people who knew the forest and its secrets?
You are Right their horses failed in the forests on our side too. grin

ezeagu:
Why didn't they fight when they saw the documents were not talking about surrendering? grin
Because we already dropped the weapons after Fulani-Arabs ran away, Oyinbos used wayo on all of us. Wayo is better than any weapon  cool

BTW oyinbos are still using wayo, so be vigilant on your side ok. Convert back to worshipping Amadioha, we worship our own Orisas here in Yorubaland cool

Don't even enter this territory, because it is the Igbo and then the Akan of Ghana who win this one.
You better not go there. Some people(igbos included) boast that African Americans are Igbos so go figure.

Even Akans are like our serfs anyways cool

Anyway let me give you a little of what the remnants of Yorubas did in The Americas;

We cunningly acted like we accepted Oyinbo religion, then we converted all their saints and gods to Yoruba Orisas cool

Ask my people in Cuba, Brazil, Jamaica and even in Lousiana and the Americas  cool

I will respect you guys back when you start worshipping Arochukwu-Long-Juju or Amadioha back in Oyinboland and in the east.

We have Oyinbos bowing to Yemoja, Esu, Obatala, Osun and Sango as we type.

Don't try the children of Oduduwa o! shocked cheesy

The next catholic pope will probably come from South America, that will be the end. He will definitely be a private worshipper of Obatala at the least. grin

Where the clans of the east took head-hunting to another level. And the skulls of our enemies were used contain palm wine. Some may call that barbaric, but in war, anything goes. cool

And like I always say, it was the Aro Confederacy that were the last to fall and even have a war named after us. The Anglo-Aro war. What other group in Nigeria has that distinction?
Hahaha

My Aro Brotha, Forget that your Aro-gundade war! Even the British had to sign yahoo-yahoo documents to stop us from fighting.  cool

We thought the document was a surrender agreement for the Fulanis who were light skinned like Oyinbos. undecided

And we did not have Tivs to fight Fulanis for us. We prosecuted our wars all by ourselves. Ask the Fulanis,  their pipe-dream about getting to the sea stopped North of Odu'a country.

Oyinbos Could only take a few yorubas into slavery, it was not an error! You Can't keep scorpions in your pocket and go to sleep.  cheesy

Even most of the ones they took were returned back to Freetown and badagry ASAP.

Ask me about the few ones that didnt come back, I'll tell you the havok they wrecked in the diaspora. cool

Ever heard of Ogbomoso and Ibadan warriors?

Ask the Fulanis about my warriors, we don't fight clans, we fight empires. wink

Fulani will never forget us. With all their fake horses and help from Saudi they still couldn't advance cool

Only if alh harem can negotiate better to save his people now. cool

Beaf:
I'm sure you're joking sha. But its a very expensive joke. Urhobo and Igbo are the biggest groups in Delta state by a very large margin, but thank God for the wisdom he has blessed the state with (Urhobo wayo), we have a state that is not only peaceful, but the only one in Nigeria governed by a small minority. It will be Igbo's next, then Isoko or Ijaw. Whereas, the Igbo and Uhrobo could keep it as a birthright as occurres in the ethnically bigoted politics that is tearing the wider country apart.
Small minds like Jasons (who doesn't even know the name of his village) cannot see this and keep looking back to periods when the Itsekiri were basically facing extermination. Thanks to our politics, Delta state is the best in the country; we have the highest standard of living, we almost always produce the top JAMB results, we own vast sections of Nollywood, banking and the Nigerian press; and despite being marshy, we are arguably the most industrialised after Lagos.

All hail wayo!!! grin grin grin

Anyways, the above is the reason why Delta state should not be mentioned when discussing the politics of bigotry, cos we are leagues beyond that.
Hahaha I respect wayo! It is more powerful than guns, I tell ya!

But ya wayo no go last forever. This time around ogolo no go jump! Delta must bow!

Just keep my Sapele water ready!  grin cheesy

Omo, we have been living together with Ijaws and Uhrobos for time until State boundaries were formed, oil, politics and all. In Delta state, the Uhobos, Ijaws and etc ganged up because of the Olu of warri stuff. The OPC Itsekiri faction fought back but they were overwhelmed and the other OPC factions of other Yoruba states could not come because it would be blown to an ethnic war/cleansing + the fact that OBJ was in Government. The yorubas in other states could not do much because of diplomatic reasons. Anyway, it is resolved now and we see eachother as brothers. My parents tell me of the days were they were no state boundaries and everyone was just living their lives and co-existing harmoniously but now, all we have is mis-trust and all.
Don't worry OBJ is like that, but if you need reinforcement ask the Ikales, Ilajes, or even send the Ijebus a note to central command. But if you think all is good and you can co-exist, we are all good.
