@Smartsoft

That you can do all your-above doesnt make you a star. The real stars like BILL-GATES are not even 'con' to even talk about 'fused'. In fact, ask them and they'll tell you they havent even started. We(you, I, and all of us) are just local-champions.

Dont be confused.

Get a piece of paper and write down what you want to / hope to be DOING when u'll be 50-years old.

Then start doing things that will enable you to achieve that goal.
Fashion / Re: Should Women Dress More Modestly? by kimba(m): 6:08pm On Nov 19, 2006
@darkmanzero
@Kimba.

So you judge a girl's morals by her dressing
Not only me but millions of people with virtue.

Dressing is only indecent when it goes against the norm, and over-dressing is EQUALLY BAD. Kimba, as far as I know, you are not muslim. I am willing to guess that you are not in support of muslim women going about in Hijab (full body covering). Example of what I'm saying.
What then is the NORM?

I am a Christian.

Let the Muslim women dress as they want to dress as long as we can see who is under the cover(especially when they go out). IF they want to do Hijab in the confines of their own house, fine, but in public, for the sake of security, we've gotta see who-is-who.

If society permits a certain form of dressing, it is too bad for you if you feel the accepted standard is indecent. Sucks to be you. Sorry.
Is it the society that permits it or because the society itself is loosing its morals?
Where is happiness in Lack-of-common sense

You should have said it sucks to be you coz you cant be me.
I am me - Kimba.

take exception to your analogy of books and covers as it is insulting to women as a whole. To liken sex to 'usage' or 'publishing history' is sickening and disgusting. Remember- the men who crave tight vaginas are those that have tiny p3ni$es.

I think they were right.

You are sick.

@KAG

U missed it, even the first question:
Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.

Nobody laid the "foundations of the Earth". In fact what the heck is the foundations of the Earth? The Earth isn't like some stationary building with a foundation (is that what you meant?).

The question is: WHERE WERE YOU?

All unbelievers of your taste wont and definitely dont have the same answers that you have given. Amongst yourselves Aethists and unbelievers, you dont agree. Trying to make things funny only revealed that you have no clue, as you just tried to 'say something. Anyway, you are wrong and yall wrong.

Think deep and answer the first question: where were you?

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Is Something Wrong With This Cv? by kimba(m): 12:05am On Nov 18, 2006
If you dont have a layout in mind, use the templates resource that come with Microsoft Word. You need to have a CV that catches attention. This one you posted here doesnt catch anything.

ACHIEVEMENT

Carried out all instructions according to organizational goals

this is not the kinda achievement employers are looking for. You need to state something unique you did, an idea you contributed towards a successful assigned project, that maybe made the company increase in revenue, make more profit etc. You studied economics, so have economics related adjectives to explain yourself, introduce your skills etc. You must also state that you have good interpersonal relationship skills, can work without supervision, honest, dedicated, personally motivated and a dedicated achiever.

im talking as if I studied B.Sc Resume writing. grin grin grin

didoflex:

Catholicism was the first Church, The rest are all break ups (Remember Henry VIII and divorce).

The Started the whole thing in the first place.

SO THEY ARE THE ORIGINAL CHRISTIANS.

OK, they are the ORIGINAL CHRISTIANS.

Nice of you to put it that way, but the ORIGINAL CHRISTIANS are dead, have decayed and are no more.

What about the Present day?

Just a little deviation from the truth is falsehood.
NOTE: the CHURCH is an assembly of called out ones. The church is not the physical building, its the congregation of people saved by Christ. Are present day catholics saved? do they believe the whole revealed word of God? have they given their lives to Jesus Christ?

Heaven doesnt know who is Catholic or this or that. All those are man-made adjectives which hold no water once you close your eyes in death.

The ultimate question will be:

WHAT DID YOU DO WITH THE DEATH OF JESUS CHRIST?

Religion / Re: Is God Really A Fair God? by kimba(m): 11:39pm On Nov 17, 2006
Dr. Tee:

I read the bible recently and my eyes fell on somewhere in Leveticus. It was chapter 18. It gave instructions as to what a man should do if he suspects his wife of infidelity. He was instructed to take her to the temple and the priest in charge was to do some rites; it entailed cursing water and giving the lady to drink. If she was guilty, her genitals would shrink and she would become a curse to her generation. If she isn't adulterous, she would be unharmed by the water.
My question is this: I don't think there is anywhere in the Holy Bible where a woman can do anything if she suspects or even catch her husband in the act of adultery. This goes to reinforce my belief that the soceity permits a man to be unfaithful but condemns or better still excoriates a woman who does so. My reading of Leveticus has confirmed this. At least, God has not changed. He is the same Yesterday, Today and Forever. I understand Leveticus contains mosaic laws but we still follow some of those laws in mordern day Christendom, or don't we? I need clarification.

There is no stopping to man's search for valid reasons from God's own book to disobey him and have his own(man) way.

The question you should ask is: what was God's original plan for man?
Definitely, He didnt plan for a Sinful man. If He didnt plan for a Sinful man, why should the Sinful man continue to find justification to continue in his sin, rather than find his two knees, kneeling down in Repentance?

We are no more living under the LAW as in Moses' time, but under Grace (the Grace of God, BRINGING SALVATION, and TEACHING US THAT DENYING UNGODLINESS(like the infidelity in your passage above) AND WORLDLY LUST, WE SHOULD LIVE SOBERLY, RIGHTEOUSLY(as man and wife) AND GODLY IN THIS PRESENT WORLD, LOOKING FOR THAT BLESSED HOPE AND GLORIOUS APPEARING(not looking for faults in one another, not suspecting one-another) OF THE GREAT GOD AND OUR SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST. -- Titus 2:11-13

Imagine a family where this GRACE IS PRESENT AND REAL, would they be talking about Infidelity?

Just as Dr.Tee said,
TV01:

If by "we" you mean those saved by "faith in The Lord Jesus Christ" the answer is "no we don't".

I hope that is clarification enough for you sir.

God bless

Those genuinely saved by faith in The Lord Jesus do not follow mosaic laws, rather they follow God's Law - His whole revealed Truth.

@seeker
seeker:

So the question is, did God's position on women change somewhere between the old and new testament? Has "age" softened his outlook?

Did God have a special positive/enlarged position for women?

Did God have a negative, slavish, derogatory outlook for Women?

The Bible tells us He made them male and female and saw that all that He created was very good. One wasnt better than the other. Adam said it right: BONE OF MY BONE AND FLESH OF MY FLESH.

Genesis 2:
22And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

23And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

The woman was created to be a help meet for the man, to be a woman-the mother of all living.

The question is: Is the woman still fulfilling her God given, society given role today? NO. She is still the mother of all-living, but many of those living have no fathers. She has thrown personal caution to the wind, she has exposed herself. She is now naked, has become the definition of adultery and all men are lusting after her. Is that Gods fault also?

- She has become a symbol of playfulness, much like a toy, the default for every advertisement to be USED and DUMPED.
- Is there any TV advert without a woman. Dont you ask why a woman should be advertizing men's underwear?
- Is there anything like hip-hop without booty? will such a tape sell? whose fault is it then? and why are the males in the rap videos usually dressed from head to toe while the women are all naked?

She gets trampled upon in the soceity, much more lays herself on the doorstep to be trampled upon. This is the modern day woman, not the one that God planned for.

This goes to reinforce my belief that the soceity permits a man to be unfaithful but condemns or better still excoriates a woman who does so. My reading of Leveticus has confirmed this

"Modern day Christendom" is not Biblica Christendom

The soceity may permit a man to be unfaithful and condemn the woman, like the example of the woman caught in Adultery in the NewTestament, and brought to Jesus, but does God permit it?

JOHN 8
1Jesus went unto the mount of Olives.

2And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.

3And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,

4They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.

5Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?

6This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.

7So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

8And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.

9And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.

10When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?

11She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

12Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

This world needs God's grace. The grace is already there, we just need to appropriate it.
Religion / Re: There Is No God by kimba(m): 11:00pm On Nov 17, 2006
@mr DeathAdder,

You say that there is no God?

A lot of people have come and blabbed their mouth on NL making such claims, so you are not the first. Welcome to your family. If you do a google search "there is no God", you might find your other relatives there.

Let me say it like it is said in Nija:
wheen people bellefull soteee, , they begin to yan nonsense.

1) I would not pray that God should prove Himself to you because if He does, you wont be able to post anymore threads in NL. He proved Himself to Pharaoh. Egypt can still tell the story today. He proved Himself to Nebuchadnezzar, and the story is still fresh in Neb's mind.

Rather, pray that God will reveal himself to you.ok.

2) The yorubas have a proverb that sayssadinterpreted in English): that a child may have more clothes than his father, but he doesnt have as many rags.

Should you say that there is no God, Yes, I know you have a reason. You havent given your concrete proof yet. But remember that when a father asks his son the question: Where were you(son) when I(father) started primary school? that is a question out of fact. The child has no answer because he,, naturally has no answer. He therefore realizes his position.

There has been many theories. There has been many postulates. A lot has been proven and a lot remain unproven. Even I myself, im grinding on an idea that 1+1 is not equal to 2. Leaving that aside, I dont know if you have read the Bible before or heard of a man called JOB. If you have, good. In his travails and trials, God talked with him(JOB). Throughout the whole Bible, this conversation is, if not the most direct and heart-searching conversation God has ever had with a man.

- The Bible has no record that Job was able to answer any of the questions below.
- History(Church history/theology, georgraphical, nations, whateva) gives us no proof of anyone yet(scientist, genuis or even a mad man) able to answer any of the questions below, and on a personal basis.

Here, I throw the challenge to you and to whoever believes that there is no God.
Please find us answers to all these questions, kindly enumerate your answers just as God has enumerated His questions.

Of all the questions below: start with this:
Job 38: 4 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.

Job had no answer for the following: Do you have an answer?

JOB 38
1Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

2Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?

3Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.

4Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.

5Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?

6Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;

7When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

8Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, as if it had issued out of the womb?

9When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it,

10And brake up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors,

11And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed?

12Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place;

13That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it?

14It is turned as clay to the seal; and they stand as a garment.

15And from the wicked their light is withholden, and the high arm shall be broken.

16Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? or hast thou walked in the search of the depth?

17Have the gates of death been opened unto thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death?

18Hast thou perceived the breadth of the earth? declare if thou knowest it all.

19Where is the way where light dwelleth? and as for darkness, where is the place thereof,

20That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, and that thou shouldest know the paths to the house thereof?

21Knowest thou it, because thou wast then born? or because the number of thy days is great?

22Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail,

23Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war?

24By what way is the light parted, which scattereth the east wind upon the earth?

25Who hath divided a watercourse for the overflowing of waters, or a way for the lightning of thunder;

26To cause it to rain on the earth, where no man is; on the wilderness, wherein there is no man;

27To satisfy the desolate and waste ground; and to cause the bud of the tender herb to spring forth?

28Hath the rain a father? or who hath begotten the drops of dew?

29Out of whose womb came the ice? and the hoary frost of heaven, who hath gendered it?

30The waters are hid as with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen.

31Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?

32Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons?

33Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?

34Canst thou lift up thy voice to the clouds, that abundance of waters may cover thee?

35Canst thou send lightnings, that they may go and say unto thee, Here we are?

36Who hath put wisdom in the inward parts? or who hath given understanding to the heart?

37Who can number the clouds in wisdom? or who can stay the bottles of heaven,

38When the dust groweth into hardness, and the clods cleave fast together?

39Wilt thou hunt the prey for the lion? or fill the appetite of the young lions,

40When they couch in their dens, and abide in the covert to lie in wait?

41Who provideth for the raven his food? when his young ones cry unto God, they wander for lack of meat.

JOB 39
1Knowest thou the time when the wild goats of the rock bring forth? or canst thou mark when the hinds do calve?

2Canst thou number the months that they fulfil? or knowest thou the time when they bring forth?

3They bow themselves, they bring forth their young ones, they cast out their sorrows.

4Their young ones are in good liking, they grow up with corn; they go forth, and return not unto them.

5Who hath sent out the wild ass free? or who hath loosed the bands of the wild ass?

6Whose house I have made the wilderness, and the barren land his dwellings.

7He scorneth the multitude of the city, neither regardeth he the crying of the driver.

8The range of the mountains is his pasture, and he searcheth after every green thing.

9Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib?

10Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee?

11Wilt thou trust him, because his strength is great? or wilt thou leave thy labour to him?

12Wilt thou believe him, that he will bring home thy seed, and gather it into thy barn?

13Gavest thou the goodly wings unto the peacocks? or wings and feathers unto the ostrich?

14Which leaveth her eggs in the earth, and warmeth them in dust,

15And forgetteth that the foot may crush them, or that the wild beast may break them.

16She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not her's: her labour is in vain without fear;

17Because God hath deprived her of wisdom, neither hath he imparted to her understanding.

18What time she lifteth up herself on high, she scorneth the horse and his rider.

19Hast thou given the horse strength? hast thou clothed his neck with thunder?

20Canst thou make him afraid as a grasshopper? the glory of his nostrils is terrible.

21He paweth in the valley, and rejoiceth in his strength: he goeth on to meet the armed men.

22He mocketh at fear, and is not affrighted; neither turneth he back from the sword.

23The quiver rattleth against him, the glittering spear and the shield.

24He swalloweth the ground with fierceness and rage: neither believeth he that it is the sound of the trumpet.

25He saith among the trumpets, Ha, ha; and he smelleth the battle afar off, the thunder of the captains, and the shouting.

26Doth the hawk fly by thy wisdom, and stretch her wings toward the south?

27Doth the eagle mount up at thy command, and make her nest on high?

28She dwelleth and abideth on the rock, upon the crag of the rock, and the strong place.

29From thence she seeketh the prey, and her eyes behold afar off.

30Her young ones also suck up blood: and where the slain are, there is she.

JOB 40
1Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said,

2Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.

3Then Job answered the LORD, and said,

4Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.

5Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.

6Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

7Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.

8Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?

9Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?

10Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.

11Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.

12Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.

13Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret.

14Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.

15Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.

16Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.

17He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.

18His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.

19He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.

20Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.

21He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.

22The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.

23Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.

24He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.

JOB 41
1Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down?

2Canst thou put an hook into his nose? or bore his jaw through with a thorn?

3Will he make many supplications unto thee? will he speak soft words unto thee?

4Will he make a covenant with thee? wilt thou take him for a servant for ever?

5Wilt thou play with him as with a bird? or wilt thou bind him for thy maidens?

6Shall the companions make a banquet of him? shall they part him among the merchants?

7Canst thou fill his skin with barbed irons? or his head with fish spears?

8Lay thine hand upon him, remember the battle, do no more.

9Behold, the hope of him is in vain: shall not one be cast down even at the sight of him?

10None is so fierce that dare stir him up: who then is able to stand before me?

11Who hath prevented me, that I should repay him? whatsoever is under the whole heaven is mine.

12I will not conceal his parts, nor his power, nor his comely proportion.

13Who can discover the face of his garment? or who can come to him with his double bridle?

14Who can open the doors of his face? his teeth are terrible round about.

15His scales are his pride, shut up together as with a close seal.

16One is so near to another, that no air can come between them.

17They are joined one to another, they stick together, that they cannot be sundered.

18By his neesings a light doth shine, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning.

19Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out.

20Out of his nostrils goeth smoke, as out of a seething pot or caldron.

21His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth out of his mouth.

22In his neck remaineth strength, and sorrow is turned into joy before him.

23The flakes of his flesh are joined together: they are firm in themselves; they cannot be moved.

24His heart is as firm as a stone; yea, as hard as a piece of the nether millstone.

25When he raiseth up himself, the mighty are afraid: by reason of breakings they purify themselves.

26The sword of him that layeth at him cannot hold: the spear, the dart, nor the habergeon.

27He esteemeth iron as straw, and brass as rotten wood.

28The arrow cannot make him flee: slingstones are turned with him into stubble.

29Darts are counted as stubble: he laugheth at the shaking of a spear.

30Sharp stones are under him: he spreadeth sharp pointed things upon the mire.

31He maketh the deep to boil like a pot: he maketh the sea like a pot of ointment.

32He maketh a path to shine after him; one would think the deep to be hoary.

33Upon earth there is not his like, who is made without fear.

34He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride.

JOB 42: 1-6
1Then Job answered the LORD, and said,

2I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee.

3Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.

4Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.

5I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee.

6Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.

@DeathAdder,
rather than waste your life and damn your eternity, do like Job did:

Women, women, what cant you do and undo.

Second child out of wedlock, see, tell your friend that she becomes a murderer if she terminates the pregnancy. Besides, she'll hurt herself more than the child, could even loose her own life.

Premature born children are even born at 7months, then she wants to terminate a six month pregnancy.

Why didnt she use her senses while in the heat of sexual passion with her man. Kill mommy ko, kill daddy ni.

these are the kind of girls they should strip and flog in the open.

An original book by Shakespeare would likely have a cover that is quite worn, given that it would be centuries old, right?  Would the literature inside still not be as good as if the book were a new pressing?
Is there an original book by Shakespeare still alive today, that has not been reprinted?

who needs "quite worn century old" women anyway?

besides
I think waffistyle said it better:
waffistyle:

, please let us be reasonable and rational, don't judge a book by its cover does not mean the cover is bad, o5r indecent, but that it might not tell you all that is in the book, look when you see a book with pictures of naked women as the cover, you are certain that it must have pornographic content, you ,might just not be sure if you will see the pornographic content you desire to see, but it is pornograhic book.
grin grin grin
if a girl dreeses halve naked, you are sure she is morally backrupt, but you might not be sure if she is a prostitute, or sleeps around for free, or just don't have a direction and purpose, or just plain stupid!!!!

In addition, are there women who are prostitutes or who sleeps around for free or who don't have a direction/purpose in life or who are just plain stupid - who are not morally bankrupt? I believe all the above are synonyms.

O boy waffistyle, you're the man of today. This one is not easy!!!

Politics / Re: Tell Me About Powerful Nigerians In Diaspora. by kimba(m): 12:19am On Nov 15, 2006
Its not everybody who looks like a Nigerian, or who has a Nigerian surnname that is a Nigerian. Nigerians have the habit and like to claim what is not theirs, even the people who dont give a shit about them.

@adconline,
how do you think someone like that John Agwunobi, after getting to that position in life would remember Nigeria. Ask him, he doesnt know what the Capital of Nigeria is.

for the Chukwu of a guy, first, from his pose in his picture, he is posing like a Nigerian. You know all these kinda pics with some awkward kinda pose, you know that such people are nigerians. Besides, even his flimsy website looks as if it was designed by a Nigerian.

Im not saying that Nigerians cannot design websites, but you know the typical colors are all there.
Peace!
Politics / Re: We Need A European Leader To Fix Nigeria? by kimba(m): 11:55pm On Nov 14, 2006
@Reverend

who told you that there are no mud huts with satellite TV and mobile phones including internet connection in Nigeria. And is it because of your believe that Africa needs Europeans that you have resorted to Biblical falsehood? Are you trying to fill in the European-Gap in the lives of those your African followers who worship you and your god with their naked bodies? You better go buy them some clothes and teach them decency.

see, you false prophet, you better keep quiet. When reasonable people are talking, you are not supposed to talk.
-------------------

on a more serious note:
and to all the advocators of Europeans to Fix Nigeria, shame on all of you.

Is it that we need Europeans to come fix our country or they need blacks and Africans to give their country a face. Do you know how many Europeans fly into Nigeria on a Monthly basis? compare that to how many Nigerians go out on Business on a monthly basis. Yes, for the fact that we like travelling, Nigerians are one of the most travelled people in the world. We have survived everywhere and are still surviving. And in every nook and corner, you'll find a Nigerian or African brain somewhere outside the African continent, putting things right.

And with the number of expatriates in Nigeria, making a monthly salary that they cant dream of in their country, ofcourse we know it will be for a while, but then, we can be proud that they are achieving what they cant achieve in Nigeria. In fact, I stumbled on a website sometime ago, about a group of Europeans, Americans, white and all colors, MIGRATING TO AFRICA. They settle in various countries, adopt African names and GET A LIFE. According to them, they are BLACK AT HEART. If we are to take their word for it, let them be. The question is: what made them to dump Europe for Africa? Answer: this is where everything is happening, from the good to the bad and ugly.

FOrget it. WE DONT NEED EUROPEANS or any other person to manage this country. Insult upon injury. This country is for Nigerians and as many as love Nigeria.

Religion / Re: Do White People Take Christianity As Seriously As We Do? by kimba(m): 11:44pm On Nov 11, 2006
as I said earlier, the reason for Africa's poverty is not because of Religion or anything. In fact, its good that we take it serious, coz at the end it would matter most. After all the suffering in this world, to go and suffer in eternity?

I believe God has given man an equal opportunity. He is not partial. What is happening now is how best we have made use of the opportunity / how best we are making use of it,
Fashion / Re: Should Women Dress More Modestly? by kimba(m): 11:14pm On Nov 11, 2006
@drionelli

And, as sammyjl noted, rape is not committed only against scantily clad, buxom, zaftig ladies.  And, please don't tell me that you feel rape is pleasurable and passionate (your adjectives) for the rapist.

I was just reverse-quoting you when you said:

Rape is not a crime of sex, but rather a crime of violence,

I believe Rape is both a crime of Sex and Violence. In fact, attempted Rape is both too.

and also: yes you are right by saying:
To judge a book by its cover is to miss out on some fine literature.

but, do you know that its true - that:
- good books have good covers, decent books have decent covers.

- When a good book is first published, it usually has a good cover.
As it passes from hand to hand, it gets dented here and there.
Soon its cover begins to wear-out - the definition of wear and tear.

have you ever seen a first-time published book with only a front cover and no back cover?

get the drift?

If i don't see a back cover on a book, its assumed that its not the first time the book is getting published.

- If the book had a cover, we might consider and give its literature a look, but what happens when its scantily covered? doesnt that smell an over-use.

when a woman is scantily dressed, she smells over-use!!!
Note: it doesnt mean that everywoman who covers herself with a blanket is an original, but the former is usually and very much true.

Politics / Re: Why Is Nigeria Alsways Receiving Bad Press From America? Read This by kimba(m): 10:30pm On Nov 11, 2006
FIRST -
On the issue of receiving bad press. Is it that we are always receiving BAD press, or that we are not doing what we should do? If we are up to the task at hand, who cares about bad press?

SECOND -
a lot of bad things happen in America too. Some crimes that happen there havent happened in Nigeria, and yet Nigeria's bad press is worse than America. Why? they have people whose job is just to make the country look good to the international world on a daily basis. Now, do we have such a focus in our government? NO.
