Computers / Re: EFCC Ban On Night Browsing In Cyber-cafes by kimba(m): 10:03pm On Sep 17, 2006 |
@Seun You cannot trace scammers via their IP address because most ISPs use dynamic IP addresses. Each time you connect, you get a different IP address. Ironically, The only ISPs that use fixed IP addresses are those that serve cyber-cafes.You might not be able to trace scammers by their IP addresses, but the ISPs concerned can be traced, and then the ISP will trace the customer who used what IP. With correctly configured Proxy/Caching servers in place, all things are possible. Mac address locks/tags can be implemented, and regardless of how many server cascades might be in place, everything done in those cafes can be seen. Its the will to do it that is the problem. @Seun The debate is over. Once a cyber-cafe is registered it can resume night browsing. It's just a way to make them register. The EFCC is not under the illusion that such a ban will eliminate cyber-crime.I will consider the idea of Cybercafe a way the EFCC has come up with to make extra cash for themselves. Cmon think of it, how many cafes in Lagos state alone. Perhaps they are hard on cash and have to put a couple of things together. Besides, with internet access getting cheaper and cheaper by the day, these 419ners will soon get their things in their own homes, and if they can't be traced from cafes, what happens in their own confines. If Nigeria can have a National gateway, where all internet traffic passes through(forget VSATs, radios or whateva), with proper content filters implemented,,,,,just like it is in China, then things can be put in place to combat internet crime. And even the EFCC, I dont think they know where they are going in the first place. Yes, there are a whole lot of yahoo boys who do their stuff at night, also there are another lot who do theirs in the day. Cybercafe owners make a major part of their profit at night, coz their ISPs traffic are majorly reduced and therefore, connectivity is much faster and better, than in the day time especially at peak hours, Will the EFCC assist these cybercafe owners financially, or will they come in as a middle man to convince ISPs to reduce their tariffs? |

Romance / Re: Women,gods Most Wonderful Creation? by kimba(m): 10:56pm On Aug 07, 2006 |
Women, God's most wonderful creation? Hell no. God created Man. God made the woman, out of the man!!! I therefore submit that the quality "Wonderful" is applicable to Man/male alone. @flyKUDE If all you appreciate in a woman are boobs and figures, boy, you have missed the point seriously. Where are the boobs and figure of a 65-year old woman? what remains is bags and sacks. On the other hand, to all the women on NL and in the whole wide world, I would throw a challenge: I would like to see women stand up for, and restore the "Woman" to her rightful place in the society. Today, all that we have is women are becoming professional house-wifing materials(just good only for the home), referred to as sex objects in all areas of life, children manufacturing machines, good advertisement materials etc. Honestly, what baffles me is that women are generally are comfortable with such wrong perceptions of their sex by the male sex. More, they encourage it. I would like to see a woman stand up and say NO!!! |

@O-B-J Who is the woman that gave birth and back to you? Which OBJ family circle are you in? My name is Kimba, and I'm from Circle 001. I'm asking these questions because the your profile pic and mine look the same, its just that mine is more human-looking than yours. I just wanted to ask what is your "degree of deviation from the true OBJ genes" @Damsal Could you actually do something for someone/something u hate.Ok, fine, everyone has his own opinion. DO you mind, tell me why you hate Nigeria? Has Nigeria offended you or are you pissed because you are a Nigerian or at least related to it? @LiquidMind I breed a generation of 419er. And send them all over the world to bring back our wealthAnything you say can be used against you!!! @Kenshin Thank you o, please tell them again! @Yemstar topic, what did i do for my country? easy i leftyeah rite!!! Obj before u start talkin did u do anything for Nigeria? U quote kennedy like u were there when he gave the speech. The difference between america and Nigeria is the american government cares for its people while Nigerian government cares for their pocket. So its pretty difficult to build loyalty for such a placeEasy, Yemstar, There is no government without people. The people are actually the government. The difference between America and Nigeria is that Americans care for Americans, while Nigerians don't give a F about their fellow Nigerians. @Dondele, @O-B-J while your pour those curses online through your keyboard, just make sure it doesnt get destroyed!! @O-B-J they started itAs I said, i do not think you are a true member of the family circle. True OBJ clans educated on the Otta Farm Faculty of Science don't curse. We take everything with a grain of salt, a bowl of water while we douse the tension with a smile. Peace!!! |
Business / Re: Would A Private Investigation Firm In Lagos Make Money? by kimba(m): 10:07pm On Aug 07, 2006 |
@Seun Video evidence can be collected as well as audio recordings. Have you not watched Cheaters?Yes, video evidence can be collected, and that may do in an Oga's/Madam's extra-curricular affairs scene. @LoverBwoy if for example they have the freedom of information act; the investigator would be have access to people bank transfers and would have acess to a copt for EFCC ICPC and coyes, this is what im talking about!!!! but definitely they would not have freedom of speech Erm why does private investigation has to do with Oga's wife and mai guard alone?Thank you o, abeg, ask them!! Does the Nigerian government need any more Video Evidence that Nigerian Police are corrupt? What have they done about it? Nothing!!! |
Business / Re: Would A Private Investigation Firm In Lagos Make Money? by kimba(m): 9:52am On Aug 06, 2006 |
Private investigation ko, Corporate Investigation ni, The question is, how do we know the Private Investigator is telling the truth. There is no truth in the Public/National/whatever investigators who are empowered by the law to investigate. In the kind of Nigeria that we have today, where everybody suspects everybody, what has the private investigator gotta prove about himself to me, that he is as credible as he claims. The way I see it , he, the Private investigator is looking for trouble. In a country where there is no law binding me to open my mouth and say what I saw and didnt see, with me fully informed and aware that witholding of information vital in catching a criminal(for example) is a terrible offense punishable by law, where is the law sef? in a country where its better to keep quiet and let-what-be-that-will-be, at least for my own safety, I believe the Private Investigator has no hope. Example: Doesnt the IG know the problems that the Agberos, touts and their likes are causing for motorists and individuals in Lagos state? What has been done about it? Stop and search police have become stop and steal. Does the Nigerian police want to tell Nigeria that up till today they dont know, they have no clue about the murder/s of Bola Ige? tell me more about Private Investigation. Who will give the Private Investigator the information he is looking for? 1 Like |

Crime / Re: Rev.kings Devlish Actions by kimba(m): 9:36am On Aug 06, 2006 |
The General Overseer of Christian Praying Assembly (CPA), Emeka Ezeugo, has told a Yaba Magistrate Court that he cannot be tried for murder because the court lacks jurisdiction. Police re-arrested Ezeugo alias Rev. King on Wednesday shortly after another Ebute Meta Magistrate Court granted him bail over an attempted murder charge. His bail was on the strength that he would be re-arraigned for murder following information that one of the victims that sustained fire burns had died in the hospital. King, who spoke through his counsel, Mike Okoye, told the Chief Magistrate, I. O. Akinkugbe, that her court lacks jurisdiction to entertain the murder charge preferred against him. Okoye told the court that the police are in contempt of court because another court of the same jurisdiction had earlier granted King bail. He added that the current murder charge is an abuse of court process. He explained that the name of the victim for which murder charge was brought against King also features in another case where he is standing trial for attempted murder. The counsel also urged the court not to entertain the suit, adding that the only option left to the police is to wait till the next adjourned date at the first court to amend the charges. The prosecution counsel, Abass Williams Ochogwu, urged the court to discountenance the defence argument. He argued that murder charge was brought against the accused because one of the victims had died. In her ruling, Akinkugbe threw out the charges. She said her court lacks jurisdiction to entertain the matter. The accused was arraigned on Wednesday on a four-count charge of attempted murder and setting seven of his church members ablaze. The 40-year-old King was docked with two members of CPA, Donatus Chiazor (53) and Kelechi Chikere Queen (26). They are currently in police custody. http://www.independentngonline.com/news/44/ARTICLE/8188/2006-08-04.html http://allafrica.com/stories/200608030386.html http://www.andnetwork.com/index?service=direct/0/Home/story&sp=l47867 |

Its a shame, its a pity that we have to let Dr. Okonjo go. But with the kind of country we have where the good people are hated, and the area boys are king, the situation is not too surprising. One would have been wondering how she even survived there for 3yrs. Welcome to the new Mrs. Usman. And as usual, I believe her first major duties will be to find faults in the procedures and process flow of everything and everybody involved in and leading to Nigerias release International Debt club, abi |

Romance / Re: Does Love Exist? by kimba(m): 1:38am On Jul 23, 2006 |
Love exists because even though it cant be seen with the eyes, cant be held with the hands, it can be heard with the ears, explained with the lips, felt deep in the heart, and truly, anything that can naturally satisfy one of man's senses must surely exist, at least to an extent. Love doesn't exist because it is usually that feeling that cant be explained with words. in short, Love is whatever you make it or call it. |

Politics / Re: The Most Corrupt Public Institution In Nigeria by kimba(m): 11:13pm On Jul 20, 2006 |
@Chkta Chxta O boy, na u talk am. Nigerias problem just changed its name. Heres what I stand: I dont think the problem of Nigeria is any president, vice, or any government official. Its not any institution or body. Nigerias #1 problem is its people. If Nigeria can solve this problem of its people even if by 30 percent, we will see changes in no time. The problem with Nigerias people is the idea of default-corruptness, the potential is always there in every person. See, no matter how close you are to a person, especially within Nigerias walls, you just still have "to be careful", maintain some distance, dont give it all up on the "I trust you stuff". We are the people who put the government in power, and if we can agree among ourselves, to want to see a positive change, we will see it. Its just that to see two-Nigerians totally and 100% united without any reservations for each other (forget tribe, religion or whatever) is very difficult. Heres my postulate: The Number of Yorubas, Igbos, Hausas, and all the other tribes in the nation are more than the number of Nigerians. We would rather choose to be tribal than national. Its more of most people dont believe in the country, so everyone is looking for his own agenda. In fact, everyone has his/her own agenda planned out. The question is: when can, when will Nigerians begin to look for and work towards the common good and common benefit of everyone, with the future generations in perspective? |

Romance / Re: What Women Want (WWW) by kimba(m): 10:54pm On Jul 20, 2006 |
What women want? Women are like that test, that you think you have jacked really hard and prepared for and when the results come out, you see your script all reds, and as you go over all your answers one by one, you just begin to see your own mistakes very obvious, which you never saw at first, as in after you banged, you are now telling yourself "I must have been really stupid". Just like an "ITK"(I too know) problem, or just sheer over-confidence. You want to do all the right things, but nothing seems to be working out with her. The truth is also that women are like the Mathematics test that you never prepared for, and you passed, and your classmates are congratulating you, hailing you, suddenly you become a hero, and you are wondering "Am I really smart or what", if you are asked 'what your secret was', the truth is you cant find an explanation. All you know is that everything is working perfectly, even more than you planned. If you were to ask yourself what the right things were, that you knew you were doing, to sustain the relationship, you wont find an answer either. |
