VaselineCrew: Protesters have started blocking roads in Lagos, leaving a lot of people stranded.
What is your opinion on this?
Do you think it is right that they are blocking roads?
In as much as it looks wrong and inconvenient, believe me it is so inconvenient but as long as it does not involve violence of any form or abuses it is right to get the message passed and clear.
In a sane society those people driving are suppose to join protest as long as the message is unbiased and for their own benefit as well.
If you could stay calm and watch the oppressor oppress the poor and the less privileged and you can't fight it with any peaceful tool that you have you are more like the oppressor.
luvmijeje: This protesters are unreasonable. You can't reason with them. While they are enjoying their 77 million naira largesse, the Nigeria Army should take back control of the toll gates.
people wey dey join them no dey read news? dem no hear say government has agreed to all of their demands? this thing happening in this country is because we have failed to use force to disperse these jobless protesters.
...And the major reason FG is not using force is because of the financial support it is getting from international community. You need to act like a slave of democracy in order to enjoy these things in full.
Nobody on this forum has been able to tell us why this protest should continue. All they keep doing is mentioning and cursing people who give cogent reasons why it must be suspended.
VaselineCrew: This man has been protesting since his youth, even now, he leaves the comfort of America (A country Nigerians are dying to go to), to come to Nigeria to protest.
What is his reward for all this?
He gets cursed by his own people, while they make songs for "Jagagban"
This life is funny, but solace is that God judges all.
XtremelyCoded: In the heat of the #EndSars protests, it seems Wizkid is very uncomfortable with Reekado Banks' plan of dropping a collabo with Wizkid later today.
since one werey banned me from speaking my mind on certain thread, I will kuku speak at the slightest opportunity I have.
The CNG noted that it was no longer an exaggeration that the security situation in the country and in particular in the North had deteriorated, while the authorities did not deem it fit to extend the swift spirit deployed against FSARS into security the North.
Can we all see enemies of state, they should go on with their protest we will not join them this time. We have been speaking against what they are fighting for now for so long but they are always against us
The Best way to Savage the Situation of our Country Right now is to Restructure immediately Just as Papa Adeboye said..
The Truth of the Matter is that Nigeria is a Country made up of Countries..
Nigeria is made up of about 4-6 Countries..
We Have Deceived ourselves tooo Much.. The Tribalism, the Injustice,Hate, Nepotism etc is too Much.
If Restructuring is not Possible, then the Various Countries in the country called Nigeria need to Peacefully Go their various ways..
Most Important! As we do what we do , Let's do it with the Conciousness of Eternity... Let's Ensure that we are Reconciled with God through Jesus Christ and we are Prepared for Eternity..
So Should in case we are called Home or the Big one Happens, we all will meet at the Feet of JESUS to Part no More!
You are correct, but it should not be done in line with that 12 state arrangements.
For the fact that it is even coming from the northern leaders who where against it shows that it is a Greek gift.
If we don't know how to go about proper restructuring, we should go back to Regional gvt
Who knows what is inside COMFAB agreement o
Op stop banning me!!! Don't let me send SARS after you o
Nowenuse: Southern Kaduna people you have to correct yourself! They are the same people with those of us from Jos. We are Christians and that's why we can never be part and parcel of Hausa' fulani foolishness.
bakobenjamin198: My friend, let me school you on what you don't know. These are people from Southern Kaduna. They are equally anti-bad governance just as you in the South-South, South West end South East because they have equally suffered a lot of injustices from this government. They are Christians dominated areas and anti Sharia law too.
WoW, this is something we don't get to see daily. I would keep Southern Kaduna in mind.
You see the rest they like progress on reverse mode. No actual progressive thinking. Religion has eaten their sense of reasoning.
delpee: That we have democracy today is because the older generation fought for it. Those who stopped the teaching of History in our schools have successfully confused the younger generation!
Only to hijack democrazy to their advantage only, Tinubu and co comes to mind.
I am starting to like Kaduna people smh, you don't watch when your brethren are fighting for their rights and your rights, it looks like they are the only ones with sense in the entire north
adekolaelect: simply bcs many of you are lazy and crazy to get money by all means yet if you get it you spend it unwisely . they don't lean Artisan and many of you believe once you go to school with unproductive professions You must have money else you will go for frauds which had dented the Images of the Nigeria in other countries through some of you unproductive useless youths .
well spoken, but what you have failed to do is answer my simple questions, instead of giving answers you swerved and started you blame/accusation method of defense.
This shows that most of you who are elders and are not in support of the protest are so unbiased, devoid of truth, fact and reality. You people are the reason why we are in this mess today because you have failed to speak up for yourselves and even for those who has been unjustly killed, extorted, tortured.
For your info there are many out there now learning craft, there some who whose the wrong path and there are some whose life pattern does not follow learning a craft but you are here painting everyone who fall in these categories with one brush.
You should cover your face in shame.
For the fact that you are into carpentry doesn't mean I should join you or engage in fraud get that correct.
Stop the stereotype, you are not different from sarz officers that we are protesting against.
adekolaelect: and young stupid!!!!!!!! .what do the protesters want again we all asked for end SARS and it was disbanded but you refuse to end protest and your fraudulent activity in the society .
lol see who is talking about fraud when we all know that if we should start addressing fraud in this country it start from the federal level, your generation are all failures because they are the ones who forced some youth into such act and even till now they are still raping the country cold.
Let's deal with that first then we come hard on those youths who are involved in fraud.
So keep shut
Some few years back fraud was not a common thing among the youth so what happened?
adenigga: This is to corroborate the argument of WIKE.
We should thread softly in as much as we have fundamental right to protest, we should remember there is a limitations to even the ''rules of law''
SAGAY'S SUBMISSION!!!
Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN), Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC) on Monday enjoined Nigerian youths to put an end to the #EndSARS protest in the country following the intervention of President Muhammadu Buhari and the disbandment of the unit by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP).
Sagay who said the protest is being hijacked by hoodlums added that having done what the youths requested, the federal government may be have no choice than to forcefully put and end to the protests if the youths continue.
Speaking in a chat with Daily Independent, Sagay said having proven to be a listening government, the youths should be satisfied with the steps taken by the government and suspend the protests.
According to him, continuing the protests after all that has been done by the government may be as a ploy by the youths to destabiliise the country using #EndSARS as a smokescreen.
He said "My observation is that hoodlums are already hijacking the protests. The IGP has already disbanded the SARS. So, it no longer exists officially as a unit. The youths refused to stop protesting, they said they wanted the President to issue an Executive Order dissolving it. Executive Orders are not used for that purpose".
"Executive Orders are lawmaking instruments to make laws, just like National Assembly will make a law, although this type of Executive Order is below that level. It wouldn't have been an appropriate thing to do".
"But it's as if the President is listening, he now came and made this address in which he accepted everything the youths are asking for. He went on to even say that the squad people who are responsible for various harmful and illegal activities will be identified and dealt with. To me, that should be the end of the matter".
" I believe the youths should be satisfied at this stage. If the youths still come out tomorrow again, then it will look as if the whole demonstration has a hidden agenda for which EndSARS is being used as a cover. It will seem there is an agenda to disturb the stability of the country and engage in activities that may be along the line of #RevolutionNow which itself is the highest crime in our constitution".
"In such a situation, the government will have no choice than to bring an end to it and nobody will be able to complain then".
"This is what they were doing in Hongkong for nine months. They got all that they want in Hongkong but they refused and continued protesting; they stopped all commercial activities; stopped flying in and out of Hongkong and paralysed all activities until the Chinese stepped in and were forced to pass the law, completely suspended their rights, and now they are complaining".
"So, our youths must know how far they should go. Since they have gotten more than they want, at this stage, everyone should quietly go back to their homes and not continue obstructing the highways, disturbing commercial activities in the state".
"Otherwise, it could give rise to much more serious consequences which they themselves will not be happy about" Sagay said.
I believe a real reform is going to happen with this EndSARS protest. But for that reform to happen, the protest has to stop. It doesn't make any sense to still go on the street after the first step at reforming the police has been taken. The sensible thing to do is to give a month deadline to see what further actions will follow the dissolution of SARS and if nothing happens, the protest can be re-commenced.
The reform has to be done quickly once the protest is put on hold then we would be back to where we started from.
The government don't rate us
They think it is the normal shout and after one week Nigerian youths would go to sleep like before. So instead of waiting to see them dish us empty promises on a platter of gold we protest until the right thing is done.
One day it would be the turn of those benefiting from the current system but for now it is reform police and justice to victims of police brutality when these two had been met we rest.
No police has been brought to justice despite the killings during protest, that shows they are waiting for us to loose guard so they would be back to their normal lying formats and unserious approach.
Zero (with personal good reasons) but I can never be like you or like that silly retired man who thinks if you drive a 7 million naira car and you are between the age of 20 to 30 you are a suspect.
thebosstrevor1: How many 30 years old in Nigeria are making millions
The reason why you are saying this is because the populations of the poor at thirties supersedes the rich at 30. There are people you don't know that are in their early 20s making millions in a legit way. My brother became a millionaire at around 23-24 and today he owns properties worth millions and other businesses source of money business.
My dad became rich between 20-23 equivalent to a millionaire today around 80s source of income wood works
Everything is time bro
I have other sibling who made millions around early 20s so what are you saying?
There are others I won't like to point out and there are thousands of young men and women in Nigeria making millions before 30
For the fact that you made your first million at 40 or you have never touched 100k in your life doesn't mean everyone should be poor like you and that retired ass hole
Today teens and early 20s are making millions through crypto currency, forex, binary, solving tech related ventures, Agric and online retails etc and you are here still speaking grammar you better ask them how they run it and they should teach you.
Just of recent before the end sarz protest a guy was busy trading on forex and he was held by sarz until he lost all his millions because his forex account was still in trading mode and he was released, guess what the guy committed suicide and nothing has been done till today to get him justice.
He was only 21
Let's not talk about musicians, footballer, directors and music producers that are making making hits in Nig
coolcharm: You stop me and you want to see my phone and Facebook? Are you normal? In fact that retired idiot is mad!
What is the work of EFCC?
What is the work of the Banks and the CBN in monitoring cash inflows and dealing with such suspicions from their regulatory point of view?
Imagine explaining to a roadside police officer that you are a freelancer who works remotely...
With their fish brain... Bam! You are yahoo yahoo.
Mscheww
That is how a friend of mine who is a freelancer a legit freelancer o was stopped on the road there is no explanation and evidence he did not tender, they collected his phone sent some incriminating things to it and dusted his account dry, 100k gone in minutes on top that he spent a week at the police station.
TheRareGem1: STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE OFFICE OF THE VICE PRESIDENT
OSINBAJO TO ANTI-SARS PROTESTERS: GOVERNMENT IS COMMITTED TO PROSECUTION OF RIGHTS VIOLATORS, HOLISTIC POLICE REFORMS
*VP adds: We must all stay focussed & committed, restates disbandment of SARS only first step in process
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, has said that government is not only committed to full-scale police reform but also ensuring that wrongful acts are duly investigated and prosecuted.
The Vice President gave the assurance when approached by State House correspondents at the Presidential Villa on Monday, just after the President assured Nigerians that “the disbandment of SARS is the first step in our commitment to extensive police reforms in order to ensure that the primary duty of the police and other law enforcement agencies remains the protection of lives and livelihood of our people”.
According to Prof. Osinbajo, “the President also spoke, few minutes ago, about the prosecution of all those (law enforcement agents) who have committed wrongful acts. I think, all these are commitments that have been made. But we must also understand that it is a process. It is not an event. Reform is a process. We must show commitment. Everyone must be interested, and we must stay focussed on the issues.”
Addressing the concerns of protesters still on the streets, the Vice President said “I think the clear message is that there is a government commitment to ensuring that the process of reform is done and those who have committed wrongful acts are duly investigated and prosecuted. And whatever replaces SARS is something that is acceptable, first of all, in its compliance to all the tenets of the rule of law and human rights.”
Continuing, the Vice President said “these are all issues that we are very deeply worried about. All of us are deeply concerned about it. Many young people have complained to me. I have also been involved in many cases trying to resolve these kinds of conduct.”
Prof. Osinbajo added that “I think it is a very good moment for the Police Force, a good moment for law enforcement and for all of us. This is the time for reform, a time for change and we are all committed to it.
“Everyone is committed to seeing a Police Force and also Law Enforcement that will meet the expectations of the Nigerian people. The purpose of law enforcement, the purpose of policing, is for the safety of lives and livelihoods of Nigerians. So, we are all committed to that, and I think that everyone is committed, we are all very committed to it.”
The Vice President said “the most important thing is that SARS has been disbanded and the IGP has committed to ensuring not only that it is disbanded but also that whatever takes its place has the full participation of civil society groups and all other stakeholders.”
