Electrical fence is a good and safe. it helps to keep some certain level of security in your home. If you have plants that grow around your fence make sure it is properly trimmed.
They require a working power source. If you have access to the grid, that is good, and your fence is ready to go. If you make your own power, then you will need to integrate them to solar power or another source. The power consumption is still low, but it is a constant low-level drain you must keep in mind.
An electric fence must be maintained. Broken or damaged insulators can leak current, poorly grounded fencers can fail to perform, weeds and vegetation on wires can drain the voltage and negate the entire purpose of the fence, and a scared animal can run right through the fragile wire if they are spooked enough.
You also need to ensure that the fence has been properly grounded otherwise it may become hazardous or ineffective.
Electric fence can cause serious shock to humans, but it can electrocute like a cat to death in some cases.
it is definitely worth installing.

Pls I need more light on electric fence for private residence. Pls how safe is having one especially above the metallic gate area? Has there been situations where wrong installations or forces of nature (heavy winds and rain,) has led to collapse and electric current leaking on the gate? Has there been cases where flow of rainfall has conducted electric current from the electric fence to unwanted areas? How legally protected is one should one's electric fence electocute someome (say a domestic worker) who mistakenly touches it? And how much electricy does the fence consume in say 24hrs of operation? Can it be powered by alternative source of energy? Is it worth installing one? Thanks

I came across some few posts in the Building Construction section suggesting that it is only achievable when incorporated in the initial building plan. Does anyone use this or has knowledge on this?

And for deep freezers, would buying a standalone solar deep freezer, so as to reduce the load on a solar system one will want to incorporate, be a wise decision than just factoring in your regular deep freezer into your solar system set-up budget? Thanks

solar water heater works superb. georged1 a member here installed it in 2017, and is enjoying it well..you may reach out to him and go to the solar/renewable energy thread for more info.


the avg solar/dc freezer consumes about 70w for 220liters. and costs about 1805 of the price of normal freeezer..while the normal freezer of similar size consumes about 125watts..

get a lithium battery pack and adequate solar panels...and a good installer...and you should be fine

Pls, what are your thoughts in buying semi detached duplex in gated estates built by reputable real estate coys in Abuja in places like Gwarimpa, Karsana and Life Camp, compared to using same cash to buy a plot in far outskirts satellite villages to build a fully detached and fenced one? Aside the obvious proximity and the perks of being close to the city center, will it be wise
financially,consideringg factors like security (since obviously for comfort reasons, building a fully detached and fenced personal duplex is better) to consider a semi-detached already built one?

It’s from experience.
So once he used sharp sand paper it will give it smooth surface with little friction which will allow the paint to hold.

Reason why you will see your office satin paint peel off on too glossy surface at time by your furniture set

Just make sure that it's installed correctly. Some "Engineers" don't like to use levels and trust their Trophy beer induced eyes too make judgement.
