I apologise on behalf of all those who have been communicating in Hausa pls. I'll like to enjoin all of us to, pls going forward, maintain the general language of communication which is English/Pidgin.

Bro, let's be sensitive by considering those who can't understand hausa. I think we also wouldn't like it if for example the Igbos decide to pass messages across in their dialect. Let's communicate in the general language everyone understand so we don't derail this fine thread. Da fatan an Sha ruwa lafiya.

Egbon Mogaji, I just went through this and I must say it is eye opening as this is my first time knowing a gas powered water heater. I am most grateful to you and to this thread. Now, considering the present high cost of LPG in Nigeria, do you think a propane water heater would still be a cheaper option compared to electric water heater?

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Kingdemu: 4:24pm On Apr 06, 2022
Good day House. Pls, how reliable is a solar water heater as a central source for hot water in a house? And would you advise someone starting a new building to design his plumbing in such a way that a single solar water heater is the central and sole source for hot water for all bathrooms and kitchen in the house?

If I may... before you install the solar water heater.. look for Niyi here in nairaland(satellite TV technology). If he can be kind enough to respond..he is using 300lrt solar water heater..he is going to tell you to have an alternative means or if possible do just electric only...but lastly do your research... I may do both or one (electric) at the end of the day. Cheers
Alright I'll check him out. Thanks

I believe solar water heaters come with different tank sizes so just buy an appropriate size and it should have hot water until the next heating cycle. I use something that approximates this though the heaters are not solar heaters. I have 2 x 100 liters central water heaters and the power is designed to come on for 45 minutes every day from my inverter only when my batteries are full. I also have an option for mains power on it which I never use because I never need it. I always have hot water with the 45 minutes heating every day from my solar inverters.
What tank size would you recommend for a family of 5 (2 adults and three kids in a bungalow)? And maybe an additional adult in the BQ? I really would like to get this right as there will be no provision for individual water heaters in the bathrooms and kitchen. Or can a design fit in to have both? May be to first of all install the central solar water heater and if it doesn't work I abandon it mount individual water heaters without re-piping?

Best idea, same system in mine project, it’s may look expensive at the beginning when add the cost of water heater, energy consumption, my brother is 100% cheaper. The entire system of 13 showers cost about 1m then, compere with Aristo 30 liters @ 55x 13 with Nepa bill unko for life. This one naw free hot water for at least 10 years of lifespan on the solar water heater.
The setback here is having no hot water early mornings and late evenings as someone wrote has been his experience with the solar water heater.

Personally I believe that solar water heaters are best used as a preheater.

In my system I have a central 25 or 50 liter (I forgot the actual size) that serves the whole house. I’ll be introducing a solar water that will be serving it with preheated water.
And I was seriously considering a solar water heater as a sole central source for hot water, to be incorporated into my MEP design of my future build. Nice to know it doesn't work.

Bros.. be ready to buy a new engine after 7months... That car is not strong... It has a factory fault/error... Just be ready to spend some cash... I'd advise you go for a Lexus or Pontiac
So because your boss probably bought a lemon and has an illetrate kazeem as his mechanic who makes him change engines after every 7mnths, every Ford Edge is automatically crap and generally a bad car?

Mr Poster, Nairaland is a very bad place to ask for review of any car that is not Toyota and probably a Honda. Join real online car forums and also try locate real users in ur locale and ask for reviews pls. In this place, a car is automatically bad if it is not a Toyota.

LG has a proprietary network called ThinQ. The app runs on a lot of their newer products. I have it on my TV. Basically it lets the devices communicate to each other. I can turn on my TV from my phone, the fridge can send me a message when temperature is low, door is left open, blah blah.
Wow. Me love technology. Thanks for explaining Sir

LG ThinQ as explained above.

@henrymor

In a large room, floor standing ACs is your best bet. In some cases, getting a space to install split unit ACs on the wall to achieve maximum cooling, can be very challenging. This is where Floor standing ACs tower above the rest.

Either way, go for the energy efficient type.

________

I love this particular model of LG Inverter AC. It’s a 2.5HP Floor Standing Twin Tower Dual-Inverter Air Conditioner With WiFi.
What's the use of the WiFi?
