It is very true. There is no constitution that says : 1. People should be kidnapping their fellow citizens and expatriates; 2. Ritual killing is ok; 3. Rape is acceptable; 4.Cannibalism is nice; 5. Corruption is pemissible; 6. Armed robbery is a good thing;etc It all lies with us. We need social re-engineering, re-orientation, teachings on our values and societal norms to our children, etc. Fashola on point. But we also have enforcement problem in Nigeria, Fash forgot to say that one. |
We have lost a life in the process. Painful. But I like Fash, see logical questions... Who imported them? Who cleared them? etc |
So Mr Femi has been wearing white clothes since then. |
Haveyou forgotten he defeated Dora, a former DG of NAFDAC and former minister. The man is a strong man. |
I LOVE YORUBA-THE LANGUAGE IS EASY TO LEARN, THE PEOPLE ARE HOSPITABLE, ALWAYS CONSERVATIVE ABOUT THEIR CULTURE AND VALUES BUT WELCOMING DEVELOPMENT IN ALL AREAS JUST LIKE INDIA & CHINA. |
I will like Fashola as president because of his lofty ideas and briliance but the political climate is not clear now for SW (Obasanjo just left in 2007). Most likely from my permutation, Power is going back to North, so Buhari or Ribadu as President then maybe Dora Akuyili as VP will be a good combination. Fashola can never and should never be VP to anybody, he is too brilliant and outstanding for that position. That position is too docile and inert. He should contest for presidency in 2014. He should rather be made a minister in the interim. I like Fash. |
Osun people should wake up now. No state has power over Personal Income Tax. It is a Federal Govt Act. |
Painful.RIP |
The tread is unnecessary. The truth is Yoruba started it, maintains it and sees the future. From Da Rosha (Yoruba returnee from Brazil)the first Nigerian millionaire in pounds and dollars to the Forbes rated millonaires/billonaires of today- Yoruba controls the economy with the exception of Dangote/Dantata family. But this will only bring arguemnents because every tribe wants to claim to be the best even when they see clearly that some are better. |
Is it a fight? What is propaganda in the fact that I saw a good news about my place and I have decided to post it. If you have a problem with that please open up. Ibadan is one of the big things with over 5 industrial estates, FDI's, etc. Haters go and die. South West O ni baje ooo |

Financial Times lists Ibadan as one of 5 African cities to watch! In an article published by the Financial Times, Ibadan is listed as one of the “next 5” cities in Africa. According to the article, the city possesses a “rapidly growing economy but serious business climate deficiencies – that offer some of the biggest potential rewards – provided multinationals can stomach the risks.” Other African cities on the come up include Addis Ababa in Ethiopia, Dar es Salaam in Tanzania, Kinshasa in Congo and Mombasa in Kenya. Some of the world’s largest companies have already made inroads into these economies. Diaego, one of the world’s largest brewing companies, paid $225m for Ethiopia’s state-owned brewer Meta Abo last year, to tap into Addis Ababa’s growing consumer market. What’s more, the African Union is headquartered in the city, making it the political capital of Africa, Frontier says. That’s a bit of a stretch, but the business buzz in Addis is undeniable. Fellow beer group Heineken is spending $325m in Kinshasa, Congo’s capital. Frontier says: “while poverty and an underdeveloped infrastructure reduce market size in Kinshasa, staggering population growth and consistently higheconomic growth means the city of 10 million cannot remain ignored by many MNCs.” Dar es Salaam, Tanzania’s largest city, arguably offers the best investment prospects of all. Taking into account its size, short-term stability and growth, Frontier ranks it as the third best risk-weighted business opportunity in all of Africa by 2015. An emerging trade hub in east Africa, it is increasingly handling more cargo than Mombasa, the region’s other sea trade centre. And Japanese carmaker Honda Motor has recently shown an interest, teaming up with a Tanzanian company and preparing to build an assembly plant to expand sales in the city. There are risks to expanding in all of these markets, of course – Frontier highlights the usual concerns about infrastructure, corruption, and regulation. But Africa is the fastest growing and most rapidly urbanising region in the world. The risks of staying out could be greater still. The article also forecasts that the economy of Lagos, which is listed as one of the “Big 5”, will by 2015, outweigh that of it’s nearest competitor, Johannesburg, which has the biggest economy in Africa. Johannesburg has a nominal GDP output of $51billion, while Lagos has a GDP of $40billion but that of Lagos is predicted to jump when Nigeria rebases its economic statistics next year. The Big 5′ - cities are said to be broadly politically and economically-stable, and already major FDI destinations. They are: Accra, Ghana; Johannesburg, South Africa; Lagos, Nigeria; Luanda, Angola; and Nairobi, Kenya. It would seem fate has quite the sense of humour, with this article declaring Lagos as “economically-stable” just as the state has been declared insolvent by the Revenue Commision. http://www.ynaija.com/thenextbigthing-financial-times-lists-ibadan-as-part-of-african-cities-to-watch/ |

Lord Naya: IBADAN IS A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT AND DISGRACE TO NIGERIA. IF IBADAN THE CAPITAL OF YORUBALAND IS A BIG RUSTY SLUM, HOW WOULD EKITI, ONDO, OSUN AND OGUN LOOK LIKE ? I GUESS LIKE A SEWAGE TANK. KADUNA, KANO, MINNA, SOKOTO AND EVEN MAIDUGURI AND DAMATURU LOOK FAR BETTER THAN THIS DESPITE BOKOHARAM. THE NORTH IS FAR BETTER THAN THE SH.ITHOLE CALLED SOUTHWEST. DAN ISKASo, evidently you have never been to Ibadan before. It is so big that the population and the space there is so big that it is bigger that most of the Eastern states. It houses big people like Bola Ige (before his demise),Harry Akande, Dehinde Fernadez,Arisekola Alao, etc. Ibadan is beautiful but has its bad spots like other cities. I wish you visit Ibadan and enjoy yourself. |

ANNA OKON writes that the life of actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde outside the cameras is about to be unveiled in a reality TV show tagged Omotola, The Real Me AS the award-winning actress is set to air her much-talked about reality show, she has expressed anxiety over its implication to her personality. Jalade-Ekeinde says about the programme to start on DSTV “Before now I thought people who got into reality TV shows were those who reached the end of their careers as entertainers. When the producers approached me, I thought perhaps my career was over. But they told me they had done a lot of research and found out that people wanted to know about me.’’ She adds, “If I sit down and tell you that I am confident about this I would be lying to you. I am very nervous about the show because everything about me is going to be in the public domain now. I cannot talk myself out of the show. As it is common with reality shows, you are going to see everything because already there are parts in the show when I forgot and just let some ugly aspects of my life show. If I tell the producers to edit those parts out, they would refuse and say they want everything to be as real as possible. “So it is a project that may make or mar me. But life is all about risks. I would rather try and fail than not try at all.” The actress also says she has signed a contract with UK-based Television network, OH TV, for the first 13 episodes of the show. Stating that the producers have agreed to allow the content to reflect only 10 per cent of her life with her husband and the rest of her family, she adds that the remaining 90 per cent will dwell on her at work with friends and colleagues. Chief Executive Officer of OH TV, Akin Salami, describes the actress as a ‘‘quintessential African woman,’’ noting that there are many women in Nollywood who would have produced the drama needed for the show but they went instead for her.
