There is hope for this country with this development. |
babyosisi: Fashola should have dressed in something more professionalFinally, Oyibo has finally colonized the brain and culture of some individuals. Why, ab initio, should I wear English dress? We speak English and forget our language, we eat their food to the extent that we call our food local and now, you blame a Yoruba man for wearing his tribal/ cultural dress to host white, how best do you sell your culture. Fashola, you are on point sir. Some unwise people think they are wise, SMH. |
ok. |
holly-pagan:No be Ibadan, na ebonyi. Laugh. The truth is some us just burst to laughter some times when some individuals make their ignorance public by saying unfounded things about Ibadan. Some of the facts you dont know is Oyo State alone, has a land mass of almost the whole/ all Eastern States-Abia, Ebonyi,Anambra, Imo and Enugu. So, if you just pass Ibadan and conclude you know Ibadan, I tell you, you have missed it. There are 1001 things about Ibadan that you dont know. Very big, very nice to live in, very cosmopolitan, very hospitable, very commercial, etc |
Okija_juju: LIESSS!!!!it is you that is lying. If this is the real Ibadan, then the question is Where is Govt House, UI, UCH, Jericho, COCO House, Broken House aka Femi Johnson, Where is Oluyole Estate, Liberty stadium, Adamasigba stadium, Olubadan stadium, Ibadan tennis club, Alalubosa, Idi ape, Iwo road, Ring road, Sango, Ibadan poly, Eleyele, School of Hygiene, School of Nursing, Molete, Bodija Estate, IITA, IAR&T? etc Apparently, you dont know Ibadan. The picture you took must be Bere, Oje, which is the village part of Ibadan, and as you can see, the village part has a tared road-lol. Ibadan is one of the best places in Nigeria- with 3 big stadia, over 3million residents, 11 local government, first University, First teaching hospital-UCH, more than 4 industrial estates, etc. I miss IB city. |
bokohalal: I actually like Ibadan. It is one of the Nigerian cities I would not mind living in for the rest of my life.I found the city very cosmopolitan, accomodating and inexpensive. All the negativity about Ibadan seem like joke to me.YES O. I WILL LIKE TO EXPERIENCE THE PLACE AGAIN. SUCH A NICE CITY TO LIVE. |
slim fit :defend himself for what ![]() Some people can be funny and make hilarious statements for no reason at times. You wanted to say the Business Man Bakare, sorry Pastor Bakare, should pay the land tax ASAP or forget about it, Fashola did not make this law, so he who wants to go to equity must go with clean hands, Pastor Bakare should pay his tax now or else, he forgets about building any residential estate. Or is the estate for charity? No be business? why is he now complaining or he did not plan everything as part of investment before embarking on the project? |
0lumide: Ahn ahn!!! Abdulie!!!!!! Akwa Ibom is not doing as half good as Lagos. Don't get it twisted. Comparing Lagos to Akwa Ibom is like comparing Abuja to Nnewi. No be same catigori oo..Your analysis is very perfect: When Nigeria had 25 banks, about ten (10)of the banks had Yoruba CEO with some other having Yoruba chairmen, only few ones like Oceanic, Zenith, UBA, Fidelity and Finbank were Deltan and Igbo. People always look for reasons to eaqual Lagos but it can never ever happen. Capital of Nigeria left Lagos since 1992 (21 years ago) yet Lagos is known all over the world more than Abuja. It has been so and so shall it remain. Lasgidi ilu ogbon, AROMISA LEGBE LEGBE. |
kettykin: This hypocrit should have rather announced that the state Government will no longer take revenue from oil than come to deceive his gullible followers. Can lagos do without the tax from oil company headquaters in lagos.Pls dont sya what you dont know. The only tax any company pays to any state govt is PAYE which is from the salary of the staff. No oil company pays tax to Lagos State. There is Petroleum Tax Act (PAT) which is different from other taxes. About 75%of the income of the oil companies is paid as tax to the Fed govt of Nig so invariably it is the Fed govt that collects the tax not state govt. Do you also know that the oil companies are in joint venture with NNPC, so pls know what you are saying before jibering. |
As the 3rd album right? Good for her. Very hardworking woman. |
The problem is some people are always too hasty to make a conclusion. It is normal to pay a charge befor ecollecting C of O. It happens everywhere no peculiar to Lagos. It only shows the portion of land bought is much. |
bunmila: That christian lady has totally lost her way and needs serious prayersYou picked it from my mouth. Jesus said What shall it profit a man 'lady' that gains the whole world 'enjoys love in this world' and loses her soul. What will she give in exchange? Painful. Will the guy accept the sonship of Jesus? Will the guy accept the Lordship of Jesus? Will the guy allow you to worship your God in Spirit and Truth as the Father desires it? Will Love/ Marriage take you to Heaven? Your salvation is greater than any earthly or terrestrial relationship. |
denzel2009: What is wrong with chatting with okada man? am I missing something? No, you are not missing something, you are missing Many THINGS and few of them are: 1. In his hey days, you could not have seen him open like this, meaning he is no more a celebrity, level has changed, power has changed hand, status has changed;etc 2. Then he couldn't have carried one small black nylon when you are not my house help; 3. Discussing with that baba on the bike says it all, his level has changed- he stood and baba was on a bike, instead it should have been Azadus in his Bentley/ Range Evoque, Nissan Armanda, etc and baba standing; 4. When last did you see Tuface, D'banj, P Square, even small wizkid or O.B.O crunner Davido in such s state and such environment without being mobbed by crowd. Many things have changed about great Azadus. My prayer is God will remember him for good and restore him. |
brixton: Lol, stop usin pics to decieve me abeg. Water log stil de ihama and boundary road? In as much as I'd commend d gov, der lota work to be done esp in our rotten graHe cannot finish the whole state at once now. If Igbinedon Lucky had done something reasonable for 8 years, OShio baba would have started from somewhere else but unfortunately he has to start afresh. Government/governance is a continum. |
GARRI (x7):You wanted to say he should have set up a committee to look into why the pace is slow for 35 months, almost 3 years, like our dear presido. Later he should also set up another committee to look into what that committee has done and finally another committee to write white paper for the investigation of the first committee before withdrawing the contract. Pls note that this is what we call SLA (Service Level Agreement) it must have been stated in the contractual agreement ab initio, so no reason for an unnecessary delay. Thank God Mr Fash is a lawyer by profession, he understands 'law of contract very well. Abeg he is on point. what the residents want to see is a motorable road and not a bunch of excuses for the delay like somebody (presido)was giving an alibi for corruption the other time. In fact people like Fashola actually saved my psyche because Jonathan would have made me to believe some things are not possible in governance in Nigeria. |
Is that all for 6 years? Na wa o. Any way better than nothing. |
Gov Fash and plausible responses. Good one sir. |
from the previous cases and all the precedences, it has always been OBJ unless GEJ's own will be an exception. Good luck VS Madarikan ( touch me not juju). I dey laugh ooo |
Reference: See what I mean. We cannot even agree what corruption is and who is or is not corrupt. How then can you begin to tackle such a phantom. The average Nigerian defines corruption by the threshold of his or her moral standards and this varies from person to person. Every Nigerian thus has a break over point and consequently a pet corruption project he or her tacitly supports or patronises. We are just too hypocritical. You have good points bro, however, it is better for us to look for precedence and use it to address our issue. Ghana was worse than Nigeria in the late 70's and 80's. I grew up knowing Ghanians in my area and I thought Ghana was a tribe like Igbo or Hausa in Nigeria. They used to be the cobblers, hawkers, puffpuff and other snacks sellers, etc. It was bad for them that they could not stay in Ghana, their sport men and women were playing for Nigeria, IICC Shooting star ( Edward Answer was the No 1 keeper for Leventis FC). The solution came immediatelly all the corrupt leaders were killed. The Ghanians left Nigeria and now Nigerians are rushing to Ghana for schooling, business, holiday, investments, enjoy power supply, etc. It is now Nigeria must go instead of Ghana must go in the 80's. Why- LEADERSHIP. 1. LAW MAKING IS CORRUPT, 2. LAW ENFORCEMENT IS CORRUPT; 3. EXECUTIVE ARM IS CORRUPT; 4. JUDICIARY IS CORRUPT; We only one good thing in Nigeria- Good leaders. My conclusion: EVERY SOCIETY HAS THE TENDENCY TO BE CORRUPT AND LAWLESS, BUT THE ONUS IS UNEQUIVOCALLY ON THE LEADERSHIP TO MAKE THE WRONG RIGHT. |
This is why I love this man. His intelligence is too glaring to be ignored. God bless gov Fash. |
THE MAN IS IS ONLY BRILLIANT ACADEMICALLY BUT NEITHER INTELLIGENT NOR WISE. AS A MALLAM(TEACHER OF QURAN OR A DEVOUT MUSLIM) HE BELONGS TO ONE POLAR END OF THE RELIGION AND ANYTHING HE SAYS WOULD BE SEEN IN THAT LIGHT. HE SHOULD LEARN HOW TO TALK REASONABLY. EVEN IF HE HAS A GOOD POINT, PEOPLE WILL NEVER TAKE HIM SERIOUSLY BECAUSE OF HIS ETHNO-RELIGIOUS AFFLIATION. HAUSA CALLING FOR A BAN OF AFENIFERE; MUSLIM CALLING FOR A BAN OF CAN; MUSLIM TALKING ABOUT JAIZ BANK OR ISLAMIC BANKING; HE IS JUST HITTING THE POLITY. |
I want to respond not because you post story was reasonable but to make known your hidden agenda for writing this article. 1.Your two examples above are too shallow to make conclusion on any issue; 2.Ezogwu's coup was not totally successful has he was unable to achieve his aim, but such action in Ghana has a positive result Jerry Rawlings killed all the corrupt leaders and you can see Ghana today, a model country in Africa. Ghana is now a reference point of an ideal African setting. 3. Gen Buhari did not plan the 1983 coup and was not part of the coup but was invited to lead having discovered his good and faithful attitude in the Nigerian Army, a condition/ trait he displayed within the short period. He has a sheet, if not clean totally, that is better than others before and after him including the most corrupt of them GEJ-fuel susbsidy, pension, immigration,NNPC, etc. 4. You cannot do image laundry for GEJ, I voted for him so you are not in a better position to preach him to us. the truth is he is not cut out to lead. He is a faithful and good follower. He should support people who can lead. We are tired of people who are not really ready for leadership but got there by circumstance. Nigeria is a complex state and she needs a leader tah is intellectually capable of such. 5. It is only a dull person that will conclude that Nigeria is not utterly corrupt even the blind can feel it, we need serious minded person that will not be afraid of the Madueke's, Oteh's, Patience's,Faruoks, Otedola's, Ngozi's. I therefore, put to you if a Ribadu as president or Buhari would not do better in fighting corruption. Pls be frank and objective. |
CONGRATSSSS! |
Pls let us know the budgets of all the Eastern states for feeding then you can demand for Lagos' own. Biko. |
Moral of the story is 'do not be proud'. |
talktimi: Nigerians forget easily that's why its easy for them to be trampled upon(minus me sha).Well said bro. And after we have completely overhauled our system by getting rid of the cancer called corruption how how do we explain a skyroketted increase from N300b since 1999 to 2009 only for GEJ to come and turn it to 1.7trillion. Toooooo muccccchhhhh. |
So we never pass 5000MW? Very pathetic. Since 2010?, Sorry 2007? Sorry 1999, Sorry 1960, I mean to say 1914. Shameless country. |
Why did you dig this out? Very very unnecessary. He has changed. Now a performing gov. Akwa Ibom o ni ba je oo |
Dont know of others but I am aware Fash is 49 |
Fashola on point. Change is always difficult to adjust to. Every reasonable person knows that if Makoko and the burnt plank market at Ebute meta were to be in Singapore, Malaysia, USA, UK even Dubai, it will never remain the same. You will most likely see a wonderful architectural masterpiece or one of the best estates in the world. So, if we all know this, let us stop unnecessary ranting. The workshop should be moved to another planned place. It is high time we started planinning things in Nigeria. Eko o ni baje |
REVOLUTNIS: 95% properties at Aba road, D-line includes Bori camp military barracks and some parts of Diobo, Rumuomasi, Ikwere road in Port Harcourt belongs to the Igbos and MUST be return to them for peace and fairness. I know this wont be acceptable to some folks here, but pls, Don't descend on me am not Igbo but just saying the hiding truth. A God fearing and truthful Rivers man will will confirm this..........SO YOU HAVE NEVER HEARD OF LAND USE ACT AKA LAND LAW IN NIGERIA? FG WILL USE U DANCE KUKERE. THOSE PEOPLE ARE JOBLESS. OK BIAFRA SHOULD ALSO TELL US ABOUT THE PEOPLE THEY KILLED, MAIMED AND BOMBED AND RETURN NIGERIA'S LAND TO NIGERIA SINCE NIGERIAN LAND LAW STATES THAT ALL LANDS BELONG TO THE GOVT EXCEPT YOU HAVE CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY/OWNERSHIP AKA C OF O. |
Pathetic. |

when the labour unions decided to "negotiate" something they'd agreed upon tey tey just to deceive gullible Nigerians and guess what ? It worked like magic with a caveat (complete subsidy removal by april 2012) the NLC/TUC agreed patapata. I guess you all missed that part too butdont worry the govt go soon remind una this year when the new financial year resumes by maybe march/april.
