Lol, don't be that guy. But yeah, the IS250 will be way more reliable than any Benz in that class. It's a slow car, though.
pace of acceleration is relative . an is 250 will annihilate a corolla .

Check out Samcrac. Sam does something similar but instead with auction cars. He's currently working on an Audi R8.

A lot of online reviews point towards high failure rates of their HPFP units.

Why won't the timing belt snap when you use fake timing belt and don't adhere to the manufacturer instructions with regards to routine change of timing and auxiliary belt kits? Prompt routine change of timing and auxiliary belt kits with OEM replacement parts will keep you free from woes and stories that touch. Use China parts and watch the car tear your pocket.

For one thing, this is my real moniker, I just joined nairaland, for another, all the Peugeot cars I've owned have served me well, because I understand them to the very last, I won't get in the mud with you, but if you need to be educated more on understanding car maintenance no matter how tricky or complicated they might be, you can hit me up. My 607 serves me well. Let me even make this clear to you, I do at least 100-150km daily because of the nature of my job and the Feline has been holding up well since April this year when I got her. Meet me on the freeway with your weak Lexus and I'll dust your ass with my pug even when it's an I4 and yes it's an EW12 yes that EW12 that the uneducated mechanics condemn that it's a bad engine just because they decided to be ignorant and refused to learn to do the right thing. Instead of humans to learn, they condemn. Enjoy your Lexus while I enjoy my 607. Did I buy the car with your money?
The last time I checked, only 3 countries manage a Peugeot; England, Nigeria and France. Unfortunately, France signed alliances with Ford's and Nissan and Renault and Fiat only thus leaving Peugeot high and dry. Unlike a Lexus that's recognized in 5 continents. By the way, the last time I checked, I still raced my Lexus to 180km/h as I have always done it for thit past 5years. Now, who's weak and who's car's a failure?

What's this nonsense. There's absolutely nothing wrong with choosing not to work on specific brands. Better to focus on your strengths and the best market.

I mean, there are techies that only work on specific parts, even. Maybe only transmissions, and won't touch any other parts of a car. It's called specializing and anyone with half a brain knows that's how you make the big bucks.
Don't mind the dolt.
Car Talk › Re: Top 10 Items You Should Always Have In Your Car by kingreign(m): 7:28am On Oct 18, 2018
girlfromafrica:
As a driver, you should be prepared for the several unanticipated events that come with driving a car in Nigeria. From vehicle breakdowns to serious situations like accidents, these are occurrences that take place a lot on Nigerian roads. For safety purposes, the car service specialists at Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep advice that you keep the following items in your car.

1. A camera
A camera can come in very handy in case of an accident. You camera will come in handy as it will help you document any damage. Documenting the damage at the accident scene will prove especially helpful for showing evidence of damage to your insurance company in Nigeria.

2. First-aid kit
Many Nigerians are still yet to understand the many benefits of having a first aid kit around. A first aid kit will come in handy for treating minor cuts, bumps or bites that you might incur while driving.

3. Charged cell phone
The many benefits of a charged cell phone in your car is the reason why many Nigerians carry a car charger in their car. You might need to make a phone call if you are involved in an accident or your vehicle breaks down. You might also need to make a call if you need directions.

4. Earpiece
Did you know that looking away from the road to your cell phone just for a second while driving can be very fatal? This why you should always have an earpiece in your car. This will allow take urgent calls and still keep both hands on the steering wheel.

5. Flares
Road flares are a safety equipment used to alert people to hazards in the road or highway. Some of these hazards might include closed lanes, fallen trees, accidents and other issues. Flares are very helpful for alerting other passing drivers to your presence if you are stopped on the road or to a hazard on the road.

6. Spare tire
Many Nigerians, especially in Lagos, carry spare tires that are bad just to fulfill the requirement of road safety officers. This can backfire when you actually need to change a bad tire. Always have a spare tire available in case a bad tire needs to be replaced.

7. Toolbox
With owning a car in Nigeria and anywhere else in the world often comes the default skill of car repair. You might not be able to fix bigger issues like wheel balancing issues, but you'll definitely need a toolbox if you have lesser issues. You might need tools for tasks such as changing a bad tire or headlight lamp.

8. Map
This is another one many Nigerian drivers fails at. They'd rather spend hours driving aimlessly and asking for directions. Even if you know exactly where you are going, you might run into a detour and will need to find an alternate route.

9. Driver’s manual
Are you one of the many drivers also guilty of driving without a driver's manual? A driver's manual is a vital reference that contains information on everything you need to know about your car; from dashboard warning signals to the quantity of fuel your vehicle requires to function at its optimum.

10. Water and snacks
This might not sound important, but it will be useful if you are traveling with children or pets and you somehow become stranded. You wouldn't want all that yelling when you're trying to think of how to get out of a difficult situation.

Finally, you have to be sure to get regular service and maintenance checkups by a trusted mechanic or a certified automotive experts in Nigeria. This will ensure that your vehicle operates at its optimum level and that you don't have to spend money fixing issues that could have been prevented.

Kamalu5258:
What man doesn't understand he mystifies and condemns to Hades, the 607 I use now has been very good to me, it's my third Peugeot in three years. I've used a 206 TU3 engine, 406 Ew10 engine and now I'm on a 607 Ew12j4 engine and it has been nothing but fun. Let me burst your bubble, I purchased the 607 from a frustrated owner who didn't know what to do neither did his Kazeem have an idea on how to make the car run which I fixed with just a few tricks on the ignition, infact the mechanic didn't know how to set EW12J4 timing which was set within 30 mins, I even had to tow the car out of his compound so that he doesn't see me fix the car up and maybe increase the price because I saw through his frustration. You don't understand the system Peugeot cars work with so I won't blame you, my 607 is and always be my daily driver, the ride is a tank, all you have to do is buy a scanner and throw it in the boot and scan whenever it acts up and you'll know the exact component to fix. It's evil because you want to cut corners and when you don't cut corners, it'll be the best car you ever had, have your heard the OEM parts are so cheap and readily available? Don't call it evil just because you don't understand it and you can learn it's systems too if you so wish. Even when I get the infiniti, my 607 will still remain my daily driver because it's so reliable.

I can still dig more out!
Its like having a Land Rover Freelander and telling me it's very reliable. You only buy them for brand loyalty.

Foot note: I've owned my current car a Lexus RX330 for 5years and I've not replaced a simple plug or fuel pump and it has never had a misfire. I only change it's fluids and brake pads. Its just when I travelled with it last month I bumped into a very nasty pothole at night that broke it's shocks hydraulics.

Hope your 607 is as reliable as this.

Coming from a Newbie who just created a moniker yesterday evening to wake up and beef me. Why not come at me with your real and main moniker.

You lie and you live a fake life. Peugeot 607 never sold well. They're a flop.

kingreign , gazzuzz and their conterpacts are causing so much harm than good here on Nairaland. Leave people to buy the cars they love, you keep castgating other car brands in Nigeria cos you can't fix them. You want all Nigerians to drive just Toyota and Hondas so you guys won't run outta business. Go and learn how to fix other car brands for Christ sake and leave people to get the value of their hard earned money embarassed
You like choking on my name. It seems you have nightmare about me always.

I think I've got the G35 on my radar right now, was thinking of adding a 2005 BMW 5series to my Peugeot 607 which is my daily rider, from what I see here I'm definitely going for the Infiniti.
P.S no car is bad, give a car what it needs at the proper time and it'll serve you well. Was even surprised that it's the same engine on the QX4 and the 2004 Pathfinder which means it's cheap and easy to maintain. My G35 just has to be a Manual Tyranny sha, I have a knack for Manual Transmissions. 270hp with manual will tear up any car on the road.... It just has to be a manual
Scratch that evil car from your list. Some cars are manufactured by devil himself a Peugeot 607 IS one of them.
