Check if crankshaft pulse ring is bent or broken or misaligned, check if timing chain is stretched.

You may wish to have this knowledge at the back of your mind. You giving your car to someone you do not trust based on finances tells alot. You trust someone with a car that your life, that of your loved ones and other road users depend upon for safe operations yet you do not trust him for finance?

I have a nagging issue with overheating on my Lexus es300, it overheated and mechanic worked on it but then I carelessly forgot to close the cover when topping water and it overheated again.

Luckily I noticed the temperature and shut the engine on time, mechanic came, check it and said everything was okay and topped the water. wahala now is notice the coolant reserve boiling steaming hot when I after like 40 minutes of driving with the AC.

The water returns back to the reserve with the temptature needle still in the middle also.

What can do to fix this?

Replace radiator cap.

If you can go for very high quality, pls do. I personally don't subscribe to Tokunbo as alot of them are subjected to various degrees of wear and tears thus diminishing their performance and lifespan. Also, most dubious parts sellers fraudulently refill and sell worn out shocks to unsuspecting buyers and these won't last.

If you can lay hands on TOKICO, KYB, TEIN or SHOWA struts, you're game but then they're pretty expensive.

That's a genuine HONDA OIL. it's good.

Turns out it was the rear differential oil that was bad and expired
Had to replaced it. Now, there's no more burnt smell anymore .

Okay. That's nice, but the fluid doesn't give a burning smell, rather a sulphuric or rotten pungent smell

I've been following this thread and it's unfortunate that you had to cuss and insult the OP over HIS own property he bought with HIS own money, for HIS own business. If you feel the price of HIS own goods is expensive, why not look out for something elsewhere?
You clearly have not been current with happenings in Nigeria. That car's duty is over 3m at the moment, USD is approx 1,200. Factor in trucking of vehicle from state of purchase in US to port, factor in shipment, and when it comes some fixes to be done and then transport to HIS own car lot.

You need to calm down, be logical and rational before you conclude hastily.

It's written on its manual, also the 'feel' some CVT transmission gives. A rubber band effect.
