Please, is there a reliable Auto electrician you can recommend in Lagos? I have the annoying P0011 code. I've changed the Solenloid in bank one, but the issue persists. Before moving into the cam and crankshaft sensors, I would love for a reliable auto electrician to test the wires. It's not an oil issue as I've done an oil change in recent times.

Hello Guys. Please I need help with my 2nd generation Toyota Solara Coupe 2004 (2.4L 4 plug engine & 4 speed gear). After an AC overhaul, an unqualified rewire fried my ECU (causing car to not rev) and ever since I tried several ECUs, they all work well but my gear started delaying from 2 to 3. Even with my current ECU.

Whenever the gear is about to shift from 2 to 3, I generally leave the throttle pedal so it can shift smoothly and not roughly.

Please advise.

Let's start all over again from the basics,

1, Does the replacement ECM bears exact part number as the original one?
Pls post your VIN and the replacement ECM part number so we verify.
2, were any fuse, relays, part etc cut or removed and not replaced properly?
3, Are you sure of the state of the replacement ECM. Is it okay or not?

The car is in Lagos. Either at V.I or Ogba, any of the two locations work.

No work has been done on it except for oil and oil filter change that was done about four weeks ago

Please I need guidance on my 2008 Lexus ES350.

It started two nights ago when the alarm went off, the usual alarm where the horn beeps at intervals.

I thought there was an attempt to break into the car, but I peeped from the window and there was no one.

I unlocked and locked it back and the alarm stopped. Few minutes kater I went down and noticed that the radiator fan was rolling on its own. I had to remove the battery terminals to stop it.

The next day, I went out with the car and there was no issues. It started the same alarm wahala last night. I had to remove the battery.

It has started the alarm again today at work, and I noticed that when I don't lock the car, the alarm doesn't go off. It goes off about 30 minutes after locking the car.

I got a rewire, and I asked him for his plan, he said he wanted to disconnect the alarm.
My fear is that the alarm could be a warning to something else that is going wrong with the car. I'm actually bothered about the radiator fan that was rolling on its own.

I don't want any rewire to mess up my car, so I need advice from experts here.

It's very difficult to profer solutions online for this type of challenge. You'd need a competent technician to fix it. Where is the car located in Nigeria and what work was carried out on the car recently?

My Suzuki. Mini bus stopped accelerating, engine sound is very low, when I put it on, it has low sound and doesn't move. I called gearbox mechanics, he said the gear box is fine and may be electrical fault.

The repair bills won't be same as a regular commuter car because when those luxury features starts breaking down (which they sometimes do earlier than expected) you'll understand that you shouldn't put luxury and reliability in the same context.
For the record, a Corolla/Civic would be tagged more reliable than a Mercedes C class or BMW 3 series.
A Camry/Accord would outlive and be cheaper to maintain with fewer parts breaking down than a Mercedes E class.
Just the same way the Avalon would be on the road longer than an S class for example.
Those cars are somewhat categorized in similar or closer class range.
The fact that it starts and drive don't mean they're in tip top shape.
When you hookup an advanced scanner and run a full system scan on those luxury vehicle, you'll be shocked at the number of faults you'll pull out that the owners have turned a blind eyes to.

I repair cars and manage fleets and from experience, I have seen corolla and civic as the most abused vehicles on our roads. I have quite a number of high end cars that have zero error on their computers.

If you daily your luxury car like the normal economy car, your repair bills go skyrocket na.

A Lexus Rx, Es, GS, IS, Acura MDX, RDX, TL, TLX, Mercedes C, E, ML/GLE series are luxury brands and they're durable and reliable. Pretty reliable and durable models from their respective marques. Heck, I know quite a number of Nigerians using these cars as a daily driven cars with none other as alternative. Guess what? They're doing pretty well and holding up just fine.

If you can comfortably afford both, then go for the Mercedes.

Thank you very very much for responding. A home service mechanic has been called to come fix the issue. As for now the car is being driven only within the Neighbourhood and cannot be driven far to the mechanic shop. This is pending when the Provincial Drivers License is perfected and acquired.

Yesterday, I finally had enough. She texted me while I was in church that she's coming I said okay, waited for her, then told her if I didn't see her, were ending this relationship. Too many tampering done on that car, alot of things going on. Pls visit another competent technician for thorough physical evaluation of that car.

the battery was replaced and the cowl left unsealed. maybe sealing it up again with something like the windshield gum will do the job.
although looking at it closely, the design is really crazy

Mine has the strip and it's 3 years old in my possession and still holding up well

someone parked it outside for some days and noticed the water dropping seriously from the passenger side and a soaked under carpet.

For the water dripping into the carpet, I strongly believe it's your sunroof drain.

There are very well documented reports and repairs on these.

Check if rodents has visited the wiring, if yes, fix it. If no, replace the 3rd clutch transmission switch on the transmission, drain and refill transmission fluid with genuine Honda DW-1.

That is actually the weather/water seal. Have it replaced pls, your IDPM E/R sits close to that battery bay.
