tanx, but you know EGDE and GPRS are much slower than 3G. That means, in an area without 3G, the speed may remain constantly slow. I will consider it.

Ok, but I mean the proposed location of the cafe. That will determine the type and cost of the Internet connection you will have to use. if it is outside the main cities, you may have to wish vSAT.

PoliticsRe: Voter Registration. . . Jega Asks For Another N6.6bn by kinharold(m): 3:21pm On Jan 27, 2011
A brief mathematics show that the figure may not be that big.

The cost of paying 240,000 ad-hoc staff at the rate of N15,000 per week is N3.6 billion.

When combined with 9,000 staff and more supplies, the figure is not much.

We seriously need to stop making mountains out of molehill
good mathematics, but ddn't he do this mathematics before he said he can register about 70m in just 2 weeks. many pple tried to tell him earlier that that won't be possible but he ddn't listen.

Now, after agreeing and signing to do a job at an agreed amount and for an agreed duration, he couldn't deliver. And for reasons/faults that are obviously his:
his staff come late to work
equipment failure
unavailable equipment where it is needed
non payment of staff as at when due etc.

Now that more precious time is required for him to try and do the job, he is askin us to pay for it.

My own: Nigerians should please, give him part of the needed amount and let him source for the rest from within. All, so that we can all do our best to have a credible register and a free and fair election. May God help us.

SportsRe: Breaking News !!:Amos Adamu Suspended For 3 Years and Fined by kinharold(m): 5:06pm On Nov 20, 2010
Why is it always one embarrassment, after another?

If l decide to list all the "international embarrassment" that have been bestowed on oneself, as a Nigerian, in the last one year, l guess it becomes understandable to forgive those people who ridicule Nigerians!

From the Abdul-Muttallab pant-bomber, to the Independence day Bomb-blast, from Boko-Haram massacre to unnecessary cholera deaths, from blink small-no blink-at-all electricity supply, decadent hospitals, death traps called roads, to that shameful Ibori trial in London, to pictures of Lagos residents cannibalizing a dead & rotten-ing Whale!

From the Bank executive "slap-on-the-wrist" sentence, to the realization that importers of many containers of sophisticated and high-calibre weapons can suddenly disappear into thin air, to allegations of officials using fake certificates (like the Custom Boss!) and

From the shameful episode (or was it home movie Shocked ) when Nigeria could not locate its President until he was pronounced dead, to our woeful performance in the South Africa World Cup (with all the un-official boxing matches that followed the sharing of the loot! Grin ),
Now Amos Adamu has added his own
Amos Adamu is funked and deserves even worse but he (a Nigerian) is not the only one suspended or fined.

It is what you focus on that you see. there is "boko haramism" in several other countries, "muttallabing" didnt start in nigerian or by Nigerians.

In dis same one year:
Super Falcons are African Champions, Finidi George is coach in Spain, Mike Emelano is coach with Chelsea, the other junior national football teams are doing us proud.

Also this same year: no more fuel shortage, Uti is Big Bro Africa, Lagos govt is manufacturing electric transformers, Innoson is building cars in Nnewi.

My dear, it is what you focus on that you see. Condemn where necessary and COMMEND where appropriate.
PoliticsRe: Taxi Driver Who Hit Jonathan’s Car Charged For Attempted Murder . by kinharold(m): 1:29pm On Sep 27, 2010
The Taxi driver "Rammed" into the President's (Then Acting president) car. Rammed!!!! Not just any other car in the convoy, but the one that was conveying GEJ. Add that fact to how tense the period of this incident was (Yar'adua's illness and "Acting" president issue), then you will understand that it doesn't sound ordinary. It is in fact an attempted assassination. In some other countries, bullets would be rained on the car to stop it from getting to the President's car. Especially when the president is in a tense political period with his opposition group. If the taxi driver really made a mistake, then it is a very unfortunate and regrettable one at that. May God almighty help him. Fact remains that his carelessness would have killed the President. No country would take it as lightly as Jonathan is even taking it.
I know that you are Fashola's fan. What if it was Fashola that was rammed into by a taxi driver in Lagos, at a period that someone like Tinubu is threatening to remove him as Lagos state's governor? Where would your thought go to first?
What were you expecting? That the man should be left to go Scott free?
In as much as I do not believe it is right to lock up a taxi driver for merely hitting the convoy of presido, we must also understand state security matters. That Taxi driver could have been anybody, a coup plotter, a mercenery planted to obstruct the convoy so they can attact presido or it could have been anything so due investigations must be carried out before you talk about release. The presido might not even be aware of what is happening the law is just taking its course of action. The Presido's convoy is not one that anybody can collide with except the person has a plan. So if you are appealing for the taxi driver's release that is a different thing but to say GEJ is at fault I totally disagree with you. Presido might be unaware of the matter except if after investigations it is discovered that the taxi driver was on a mission to harm presido.
I think your hatred for Jonathan is beclouding your reasoning here, that taxi driver is one hell of a lucky naughty person, why don't you go try ramming into Obamas motorcade, you'd be dead even before you attempt it, are you okay ?, do you know that's the president of a country, for the guy to have rammed into the president's car means the guy was either impatient or just had a death wish, even in the most advanced of democracies you don't expect them to just release the guy, he would be held, interrogated and all this would be done without even filing charges at first because his motives must first be determined ?, if they have laws in the US and UK to detain citizens who pose a terror threat without filing charges for a period of time, who the hell is this bloke who makes an attempt at a presidents life---- guy don't let your hatred for Jonathan make you makes comments that just sound too absurd.
I dnt understand hw some pple reason. HW CAN A TAXI DRIVER HIT THE VERY CAR CARRYING THE PRESIDENT OF ANY COUNTRY AND YOU EXPECT IT TO BE TAKEN LIGHTLY.

@ poster
Just imagine anybody, taxi or limousine driva ramming into the very car of OBAMA etc.

Am not a die hard fan of GEJ, but lets use our head and call a spade a spade.

the man is lucky in be arraigned in court. there are a 1001 Nigerians awaiting trial for years, so his case is no different.

he is paying for his foolishness or carelessness. that is if he didn't have other motives

PoliticsMoscow Suffocates, Pakistan Drowns by kinharold(op): 4:42pm On Aug 07, 2010
The US, Germany and France have asked citizens to avoid travel to Moscow as Russia struggles to battle wildfires which have claimed 52 lives and choked the capital.

Germany closed its embassy until further notice and advised citizens against "non-essential" travel to the affected regions. The US State Department asked nationals to seriously review travel plans.

The French foreign ministry also asked citizens to avoid travel to nine affected regions and announced it was sending experts to determine "the most adequate aid" it could offer.

Moscow's iconic landmarks such as the spires of the Kremlin towers or the onion domes of Orthodox churches were rendered invisible as a heavy smog hung over the city after the worst heatwave in decades broke out in July.

President Dmitry Medvedev called on Moscovites to show patience, although he acknowledged "we're suffocating, you can't breathe".

"We all want this heatwave to pass but this is not in our hands, it is decided above." Medvedev said.

Pakistan's Prime Minister has described the floods devastating his country as the worst in its history. There are fears that flood waters are affecting up to 12 million people in the two worst affected northern provinces alone.

In the southern province of Sindh, at least half a million people have been evacuated from areas at risk of more flooding.

An estimated 650,000 homes have been destroyed and 1.4 million acres of crop land ruined. The cost of rebuilding roads, dams and power infrastructure has been put at £60million.

Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani, addressing the nation for the first time since the disaster struck after visiting flooded areas, said: "At this time of crisis I would like to appeal to the international community to support Pakistan to help alleviate the suffering of the flood affected people.

"Let me at the same time appreciate the quick response by some members of the international community who have immediately rushed goods and provided other support. I would take this opportunity to appeal to overseas Pakistanis to extend support to the people of their homeland in coping with their losses and suffering,"

The death toll from Pakistan's floods has risen to 1,400, with the situation worsening as raging river waters move from the northwest part of the country to the Punjab--the nation's agricultural heartland--and to Sindh, Reuters AlertNet reported. Hundreds of villages have been submerged (AP)

Thank God for saving Naija from this kind of situations; i wonder how we could have coped. God Bless Nailja.
