If someone prefers a war torn country to Nigeria, what does say about d people ruling Nigeria. This is an indictment GEJ 's Presidency d more reason why people should vote BB. Funny enough they are Igbo's strong GEJ supporters I think it is high time Igbo's join d gravy train sweeping Niaja, why should your sisters go & do ashewo in a war torn country when u have d power to effect change. |
This is a new poll started today and Buhari is already a million miles ahead. Mock Presidential Poll who will you vote for? Ribadu 51 (13.9%) Jonathan 91 (24.7%) Buhari 226 (61.4%) Total Votes: 368 |
I reeeeeeeeeeeeeally worry you guys on NL, don't I? How many impostor Beaf's have there been in 1 week (all mods I guess).I think my brother is just star struck by "Jonathan". Because like millions of young Nigerians he is a member of Jonathan’s Facebook’s FAN CLUB always sending post to the President and getting favourable response back not knowing that it is people like “ Beaf” replying him. The boy think say “him get intimate relationship with Mr President” I am sure a lot Niaja youths would fall into this category of people. For abroad we can log onto the web inside toilet sef, but in Naija “facebook” is still a novelty. |
LOL!I know beaf would rear is old ugly face on this thread b4 long. But let us call a spade, a spade, all u guys shouting BB for life, does your neighbour, friends, parents, and associates share your optimism if not then all these noise on the internet is just a waste of time and an exercise in futility. |
When you speak to every day nigerian it feels like they are not conversent with anything going on outside nigeria. They seem to be contended with the madness and on average they trully believe jonathan is a messiah just because he has been able to step up electricity supply in some area for like two, three times a week or because he paid off some miscreant militants who are just as objectiveless as nigerian government.I can remember reading about how someone convinced his parents that Buhari is the guy they should vote for. The person said his parents believe the economy is better in the hands of a PhD holder than some ex-soldiers whom they have seen play his last joker b4. |
Poster:Are u saying MEND are against Jo-boy, that is news to me oh, ![]() |
My Brother a medical Doctor came to london for a weeks holiday, and I asked him casually who he would vote for considering the avalanche of bad news and press against Jonathan on the web. To my astonishment he said Jonathan all the way oooooo. I was shocked, and I asked him why Jonathan, he said don't you know he is a Phd holder. I said and so what, he said Buhari is coupist and an illetrate Soldier man. That made me thinking I hope most folks back home are not as parachoial as my Brother. I know Yoruba people like someone " wey sabi book" but could being a Phd. holder swing it for Jonathan. I hope my brothers utterances is an isolated case. ![]() |
BREAKING NEWS!!!! : GEJ BANNED FROM CROSSING RIVER NIGER RESTRICTED TO SOUTH and Abuja ![]() |
Because you are the only one that knows that. Mr KnowAll!I noticed the same thing just b4 the primaries, bombings all over the place. It would do Mr President a lot of honour if he accepts defeat like a democrat. That would leave an enduring memory in the minds of a lot of Nigerians after all, he has said not one Nigerian blood is worthy of it being spilled in his own futile attempt to forcefully lay claim to the Presidency. Democracy is after all goverment of the people for the people, the people are the judge and jury. If they don't want you let it be. We all saw how the Irish Prime Minister handed to the oppostion over the calamatious role the incumbent played in not regulating the mad and crazy credit lines given to all asunder, a correaltion can be drawn with Nigeria where huge revenue accrued to the nation cannot be accounted for, yet vast depletion of our limited scarce resources is all we see. Lets not lose sight of the fact that we are in a boom time now. ![]() |
Is there a correlation between GEJ's unpopularity, obvious downward slipplery slope in the polls and MEND's statement? ![]() |
Omisore v ACN in Oshun State Agagu v Labor in Ondo State Olagunsoye v ACN in Oshun State Iyabo OBJ v ACN in ogun thESE would be interesting elections. |
clueless fisherman, |
So Buhari is this popular in Taraba, I thought it was a PDP strong hold. PDP chances in d so called geographical North seems to be getting even more bleaker as d days go by. At this rate Jonathan might just be restricted to d SE & SS. |
There is beautiful strip of land, in fact it is an island of d coast of St Louis Senegal, go there open a nice beach bar. I always say if I have a bit of money I would buy d whole strip and build beutiful bungalows facing d sea, then advertise d resort in Europe, France, UK, Italy, Spain & Portugal. That is something u should think about. Take holiday to St Louis Senegal. |
Would really like to know, does FAN Milk - The FAN bit stand for Francis Arthur Nzerebe or is it just a rumour. A Ghanian friend told be they FAN Milk in also in Ghana too. How come, does he own d company in both countries. |
This is simple to prove, check the expenses of the judges if it is 100 or 30 times what they earn, then u would that a lot of water has passed under d bridge. |
Na Sambo go settle Boko Haram people when he gets there if he would get there because that 2015 go bloody. |
How many Nigerian cities have 'mayors'? The title sounds quite grand I must admit but what happened to good old 'Governor of FCT'? if we must democratise it like you insistThis city was built from the scratch, that is why you cannot compare it with any other city SECONDLY IT HAS NOT GOT A TRADITIONAL RULER. There are suppose to be no indigenious people IN Abuja because they are suppose to have all been re-located to Niger State hence why it should have a mayor. It cannot have a Governor because it is not a state, it is a federal capital territory. |
Abuja May Get Elected Mayor in 2003, Bill for National Assembly Soon Bature Umar 17 January 2001________________________________________ Abuja — Following sustained clamour for the institution of the second tier administration in the Federal Capital Territory, the National Assembly is set to legislate a Mayoral status for Abuja. The mayoralty which will be created by the National Assembly through a bill to be presented early next month by the House committee on the federal capital territory will pave the way for establishment of a second tier administration for the people of the territory like other states of the federation. What happen to this bill. I bet it has been forgotten in the dustbin of history. Our house of Assembly men and women promise heaven and earth but delivers nothing. |
With regards to selection issues all the parties in Nigeria are guilty, is it ACN with the express drafting-in of Tinubu's wife, daughter, son-in-law. At least the favored in CPC are not Buharis next of kin. With PDP we can all see what is happening in Ogun State although been the party in Government with the added fact many of their current Governors are not performing one wonders how these Governors won their respective primaries in their states. PDP believes in maintaining the status quo. Nigeria as a nation needs to grow democratically beyond this aberration where primaries are conducted and someone else's name would be pulled out of a hat, they should have a sifting process in place where every potential candidate running would be screened b4 they run, and I believe many of these parties do have such policy in place already, but they seem to enjoy taken innocent peoples money for the form and all what may only to jettison the person if he/she wins the primaries. |
What do I mean by the word " one Million Man vote" am I saying one million Nigerians should besiege d polling station? What of constituencies & wards less than " one Million" how do they manoeuvre OR out- manoeuvre themselves at achieving such a pivotal, spectacular & overwhelming figure. Fellow citizens you do not need to despire over d intricacies of this political module. It is a strategy borne out of exigencies, past experience, and the burning desire to get it right next time. It is a well thought process used in some geographical spheres as we speak. It is a paradigm that has been deployed albeit in its rather raw form in North Africa & d Middle East and I must say d results has been unbelievable successful. The " one Million Man vote" is an attempt to marry that crude & raw revolutionary tactics Into democracy as practised in Nigeria. It is an infusion of the salient power of the congregational might of the people, it is d missing link between African democracy & western democracy. It means on ballot day the whole community down tools & head to the polling station. That is where all communal activities we take place on the day. The aim of this overwhelming multitude congregating in places of election is to forstall any attempt by unscrupulous people embarking on what has become d mainstay of our democracy( ballot Snatching)The people would stand and count their votes. Just as Buhari said lynch anyone who want to steal your vote even if that person are the police,SS, or the military, just like in Egypt & Tunisia d people would be protecting & safeguarding their future. Other variants of the principle are all progressive parties should form a coalition devoid of d bickering that is evident at the higher echelon of the party, this coalition would be an informal thing led & driven by local people. An informal aliance would be agreed amongst communities, the reason been that the spirit of unison, oneness and that overwhealming power of speaking with one voice is kept intact for d benefit of the local people against perceived enemy of d state & consequently enemey of progress. |
It is important GEJ and INEC let the people’s vote count this time. As far as I am concerned any employer who works out on his boss can as well kiss that job goodbye that employer does not give a hoot about the job, but unfortunately on this occasion the Governor surely gives a hoot about the free unaccounted money he receives from the federation Account monthly but he is not ready to justify how he has spent the people’s commonwealth. If one loves a job, they do everything possible to protect the job. But walking out on your boss is a No-No. The electorates are the boss because they put the Governor there in a free and fair election the Governor would listen to their every beckon because he knows his continued stay in power hinges on keeping a civil and cordial relations with the populace. GEJ must allow true democracy to be entrenched and fester in the country, we cannot continue to condone impostors in power in our polity. (IIP) |
I am yet to find a single poll where Jonathan leads. There is a popular saying that there can be "no smoke without fire". These statistics ARE a testimonial, that GEJ's should be preparing his hand-over notes, if he has not started working on it. Like play, like play what I thought is an impossibility has become a reality, defeat has come home to roost. PDP would have to result to ballot snatching and other avarice all over the country at this rate, otherwise Team JEG might not even be second best sef. I challenge the good people on NL to post a poll in which JEG is winning and I can bet within 4 days Team BB would overtake them. What does that say of JEG's flagging campaign. Wahala dey oh, incumbent has never lost in Africa b4 would Naija be the first and would our country become another cote' de' voire. |
Why bother with the election if he is going to bribe and buy votes, This is why Africans are viewed as not so intelligent. With views like this how can we move forward.Tell me one country an incumbent have lost an election and I would show you an ideal African country. If Jonathan lose to Buhari he would be first African to do so. That is why it is easy for a camel to go through d eye a needle than an incumbent to lose an election. If it however happens in Nigeria it would mean politically Nigeria has come off age, and that would be kudos to JEG |
African Leaders with their " Na Me Dey There Syndrome"It is case of power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. How can one explain Al-Islam, Gaddafi's first son's behaviour, threatning his own people with "we would fight to finish", this is a man who is suppose to be a Phd holder from the London School of Economics. "Who says Oyinbo no dey take bribe" The man has shot the reputation of that school to pieces. |
I don't think Gaddafi is "shooting his way through". If you do you will not be told. The issue in Libya is a bit complex. At the peak of the fight against terrorists, Gaddafi spear-headed efforts to ensure that extremists don't find a safe heaven in North Africa. We are all human beings people get fed up even if u are running a fantastic and good goverment. You cannot be a permanent Leader. Democracy or elections wets people'e apetite for the possibility for change even though that change might just be a mirage(hence those african leaders still holding on to power albeit through electoral fraud like Museveni, Kabila or Bongo), but it gives people hope that change is possible. |
"ORONTO DOUGLASS", I CAN REMEMBER THAT NAME, THE PRESIDENT'S MONEY MAN, THE MAN WITH THE SLOSH FUND BAG, HE HAS YET TO TELL NIGERIANS WHERE HE GOT THE $50,000.00 HE USED TO BRIBE BAKARE FROM, "abi Aso Rock be CBN now". ![]() |
Bash Ali said that, “I am proud to be a Nigerian… I am proud of this encouraging exercise. Home is home… and home is sweet nothing is more comforting than to be among your people at home.”I agree with what Bash Ali said here, I think Gaddafi and his sons’ blundered big time. How do they think they can shoot themselves out of a problem? What Gaddafi should have done is, calm the protesters down, and say his government would look at their grievances and get back to them within a week. After a week he would announce to the Libya people that he is stepping down, he would now put an interim government in place who would conduct a free and fair election. He would contest in this election which he would definitely win been the ex incumbent, he would rule for the agreed number of terms, and step down passing the baton to someone else, at least that way, they cannot say they do not have a democracy. So many Head of State in Africa has done so, they have legitimise their stay in power through this route. The problem with Gaddafi is he is a very proud man, he doesn’t want to stoop down and contest in an election, personally I do not see anything wrong in it, he is popular in Tripoli, half the country lives in Tripoli he could easily have won a free and fair election by bribing and buy votes plus the added fact that he is popular in that city. Benghazi would just have been a bastion for opposition politics. I hate it when a country that is doing well gets reduced to chaos and anarchy, it does not make sense. The following Presidents Legitimise their stay in power. Some are still there but others have since left power and at least Legitimise their stay in their own country not been in exile in a foreign country. It makes sense for a thieving rogue to be amongst his own people than be in the UK,US, Dubai, or France. At least for them to be around they would be contributing to the local economy. 1. Jerry Rawlings 2. Eyadema of Togo 3. Bongo son is President of Gabon 4. Senegalese President 5. Kabila Jnr – in Congo 6. Museveni- even thus he does not want to go, he still stood for an election and won. 7. Ethopian President- also another long overstayer but he also stood and ran in a election. 8. President Dos Santos of Angola 9. Kerokou of Benin- I think he did one term and left for Boni Yayi 10. Both Guinea and Niger where military Head of State they did a “ Dongonyaro” 11. Mauritania President was an ex Military Head of State. 12. Bashir of Sudan is not running in 2015 |
Sharrap!During Buhari’s time Nigerians do not have to leave the shores of this country. Nigerians at the time don’t even know where Chad was let alone Libya. The kleptomanic and Gluttonic regime of the PDP has not only impoverished our people, but has made our ladies the scum of the earth, the lowest of the low, our very proud women has been reduced to undesirable caricatures peddling love in backwaters such as Mali. Do you know other African nationals use to be scared of dating a Nigerian girl in the past. They use to tell me our women are just too posh. Is this what any sensible person should be proud off? I wonder how you would feel if your own sister is in one of those dingy brothels in Mali and Bukina Faso servicing dirty Tuaregs. The fact that there are 500 destitute Nigerians in Libya, who believe that it is better for them to trek across the desert in search of a greener pasture than to die of hunger in Nigeria is an indictment on JEG’s Government. We are all witness to what the Angolans are doing for their people, building a 200,000 housing scheme in the city of Luanda for Angolans. What is GEJ’s stimuli for Niger Delta’s development, give able body men free money for doing noting. Not forgetting the very good and kind gesture of taken care of all the Alimenjeri from Mauratania to Chad by putting all of them in a comfortable hostel. |
Routine goverment duty. The problem is becos we have had anarchy in our society for so long we don't know any better, that is why when our goverment observe what should be one of her statutory roles we start dancing and celeberating. Can someone tell me anyone out of those two other gentlemen contesting for the Presidency WHO would not do the same as Jonathan, I am sure one of them might even go a step further by supporting the people of Benghazi so that they can push-on all the way to Tripoli. Buhari has been known to push invading chadians away from Borno State and going 50 miles deep into chadian territory when he was the Governor of the then North Eastern State in 1975 without taking orders from the SHQ. This is a case of over-blown gratituty over what is probably the easiest of all the Task in GEJ 's in-tray, people have been dying in Jos since last year his silllly goverment does not have a clue on how to deal or arrest the sitiuation. |
Thank God our intellectuals are catching the drift. I don't care if we have GEJ in or Buhari this is one law that must see the light of day. Our people need to be handle with an iron fist. I see how my country men and women come to the west fleece and abuse the governments of western nation off benefits, I find it revolting, these are benefits meant for the down and trodden of the society. How much more in our own country. These turn-coats would get away with anything including murder and nobody would holding them responsible for such action. Did a sitting Senator not commit murder in broad day light, what happened to him The men in our ivory towers should preach the gospel of the death penalty to our students in the university, We cannot continue to let 20,000 or so people hold us to ransom, like the speaker in that piece rightly said we can do without them. |
Akintola advocates death penalty for corrupt Nigerians CHIEF Adeniyi Akintola (SAN) has said that death sentence should be inserted in the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt and Other Related Practices Commission (ICPC) Acts as penalty for any public officer, contractor, professional or private citizen found guilty of official corruption by a court of competent jurisdiction. Akintola, who delivered the 2010 Annual Alumni Lecture of the University of Ibadan Alumni Association (UIAA), on Friday, said he had taken pain to study the average Nigerian elite and discovered that, “He has no shame. He doesn’t resign from public office, even in the face of glaring allegations of graft and abuse of office against him. However, he does not want to die. He fears death.” Speaking on the topic, “Corruption and the Rule of Law, whither Nigeria?”, at the Trenchard Hall of the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Akintola noted that, “the little stinkers who steal the nation blind” cannot be up to 10,000 in a country of over 140 million people. “We can afford to lose them. We can afford to do without them. There is enough for everybody’s need in this country but not enough for everybody’s greed. Let us rise up, therefore, to blow the whistle on them. Smoke and fish them out,” he stated. The legal luminary, therefore, called on Nigerians to join hands together to confront and destroy the stinkers before they destroy “our common wealth and nationhood.” Akintola, who said these corrupt Nigerians were everywhere — in commerce, industry, politics, civil service, military, legal profession, media, the church, the mosque, and indeed the entire fiber of the society, admitted that though they were few, they were very powerful, adding, however, that they were not as powerful as God and the will of the people. The Senior Advocate, who is also a human rights activist and a social crusader, said corruption included all illegal and immoral exercise of powers, advantages, and or privileges, while the rule of law, which could serve as a check against the abuse of power was different from the rule by law, which operates in Nigeria and which serves as a mere tool for a government that suppressed in a legalistic fashion. On the way forward, the legal luminary said there was the need for a synergy and or collaboration between the EFCC and ICPC, the Code of Conduct, the NDLEA, the Customs the Immigration, the tax board at all levels and professional bodies such as the Nigerian Bar Association, the Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Institute of Taxation, the Nigerian Union of Journalists, the Institute of Auditors, the Institute of Estate Surveyors and Valuers and the Institute of Quantity Surveyors, Sociologists and Criminologists in the universities. That, he said, was necessary to stop political office seekers who are fond of making anticipatory declarations of assets. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Isaac Folorunso Adewole, the chairman of the occasion, himself an alumnus, urged all alumni present at the occasion to invest in the Alumni Association and contribute to the development of the University of Ibadan, Ibadan. |
