With people like you in Nigeria, we'll remain a backward nation. Estimated 100 billion naira stolen by Mr George and you're asking for a pardon after doing just one freaking year in prison?Ibru – 2 BILLION DOLLARS, punishment, 2 months stay in a luxurious Hospital in Victoria Island, now missing in action only God knows where she is at the moment. Igbenidion – Practically stole 75% of all income accrued to Edo State in a 8 year period. You do the maths. Oshimeoile has only being there for less than 2 years and has already out-performed an 8 year old Governor. Alams- with a budget of 3 billion dollars a year, Bayelsa has nothing to show for this kind of money, punishment- was in hospital during most of his sentence and later freed due to time spent in custody both in England and Nigeria all taken into account Bode George - Longest serving political criminal and still somebody wants him locked up for more years, where is the fairness in this kind of justice |
On a general note, I see a lot of ignorance on nairaland especially from our kinsmen in diaspora. You can have a very good career in Nigeria with your integrity intact and not having to lick any bosses' backside, it just depends on the company you work for. There are a lot of companies with well laid-out structures designed to prevent nepotism and favoritism especially in appraisal and pay determination processes. Simply put, your direct boss does not determine your appraisal 100%. You have processes to fdeal with integrity issues that will keep the whistle-blower anonymous (for conflict of interest, corruption etc). Your pay is well laid-out and never comes in later than 24th of every month come rain or shine. Personally, over the last 5 years I've averaged about 20% pay increase per year. To summarise, investigate the particular company you are interested in and ask questions of insiders. That a good gauge, not what one anonymous person says on nairaland.Oga which one be your own with diasporas people dem collect your girl-fiend abi wetin now, samething in the other thread about Lekki Toll you are blaming Diasporas again and you swore u would not pay that toll, yet you get over N2MILLION A YEAR, HABA are we to belive your cock and bull shiiit or just ignore you. |
Again, a lot of ignorance being displayed especially by our folks in diaspora. This struggle is not about the concept of public-private partnerships and what have you. It's a struggle against a cabal's intention to enslave a people, many of whom have known no other homes since their forefathers settled in the fourteenth century. If LCC had taken the coastal road, built it whichever way they liked and cahrged whatever amount they want on it, very few people would have complained and they would have been stifled easily. But for tinubu, through LCC, to take the only existing road in a neighbourhood, resurface it and add a lane on either side, build 3 toll gates within a 24km stretch and intend to collect 120 naira per pass from motorists for 30 years is something that will not happen. You are free to have your opinions, but we who are on ground and feel where the shoe pinches will not allow this injustice. They should have dared to collect the tolls on January 3rd, then they would have seen what their eyes have never seen before. Bloody rogues!!! Vagabonds in power!!!You are on point there, the coastal road should be their baby and not an existing road. |
A lot of people are starting to review Fashola's performance holistically without the bandwagon clarion call of "eko oni baje" people are engaging their brains once again, the hoodwink Fashola has been using has started to fall off people's eyes. Can someone tell me one-thing Fashola has done in the last 6 months, the man is living on past glory. To be sincere I do not blame him, we are in a political charged period and a lot of Lagos State's fund is spent on fighting battles in far-away Ekiti, Osun and probably Oyo and Ogun state, hence the slow-down of Fashola's goverment in recent months. |
With people like you in Nigeria, we'll remain a backward nation. Estimated 100 billion naira stolen by Mr George and you're asking for a pardon after doing just one freaking year in prison?100 billion Naira !!! That is still less than what Ibru, Igbenideon and Alams stole yet they walked away with just a pat on their back. We cannot have one rule for some and another rule for others. The rule of law stipulates all are treated b4 the law. |
How did you know thatit is irrelevant wether he has seek repentance from God because he saw Pastor Adeboye and maybe faking it trying to show some remorse, the bottomline is, he has served more time than any other corrupt politcian and should be left alone. Prison is a place for reformation and not a place for condenmation(hence my quote "he who has not sin should cast the first stone" that is why it is called correctional facility in America. |
This is how you people quote the Bible to suit yourselves. Did the same bible not urge you to "Give unto caesar what belongs to Caesar"?It is a shame that in the over 20,000 corrupt public officer's from Councillors to the Presidency, Bode George seems to be the only one handed a lenghty sentence. Talking of double standard. (Sentences for Ibru, Igbenidion and Alams comes to mind) ![]() With that said Bode Gorge has served more time in prison than any other political criminal and deserve a pardon, if we want to be fair and apart from that if he has undergone a spritual re-birth what right have we got as humans to remind him of his misdeameanors when the king of kings have absolved him of that sin. ![]() |
Personally I welcome official opposition in d SW, PDP fits d bill being a national party, all dat remains is for credible candidates to take up candidacy of this party and discuss issue based politics.I wrote the above a couple of days ago in another thread why PDP won in Ikorodu, and I am sure Fashola is a listening Governor we are in a democracy and not some authorithorian regime, concession needs to be taking from all stake holders, thank God Fashola is aware he cannot take the elections for granted hence his suspension of the tolls, this is why I love democracy, the accrued income from this project would have to be sought from somewhere else. You mean that glorified dual carriage road that was there before. Isn't the lagos-benin road also a dual carriage highway, but look at its condition. The expressway's construction is an overhaul, and not a repair job. |
"He who has not sin should cast the first stone", all men are and would be absolved from their sins so long they repent b4 the grim ripper comes calling. It might sadden a lot of you that those who committed the most gruesome and cruel sin in the eyes of man might end up in the bosom of the lord in heaven(those awesome pictures of the Jos mayhem comes to mind) . God's way is totally different from man's way. You steal 1 kobo and you steal 20 billion dollars is the same in the eyes of God that is the grim truth. ![]() |
Good decision. The said road was already a dual carriage way, PREVIOUS Goverments built it for free, the present goverment is only re-surfacing and expanding some areas within the network, why should anybody pay for an existing facility which is only been window dressed by LCC. ![]() |
James is a political refugee, so there is some ptical refugees outside d country. |
Personally I welcome official opposition in d SW, PDP fits d bill being a national party, all dat remains is for credible candidates to take up candidacy of this party and discuss issue based politics. If d PDP candidate in Lagos say he would tear down those lousy toll gates, he would not only have swayed a large % of Lagos electorates to his party he would actually effect change in d lives of his constituents which is one of d fundermentals of democracy. |
There are no coup plotters in d Nigerian Army anymore even Dambazza's army were clueless on grasping power wen it was steering them on d face. Baba has actually weeded d army during those 8 years of OBJ's reighn. Our army today is psedo-professional if not fully professional. |
I would not vouch for Ogun State as been an entirely ACN Strong-hold. They are planning on fielding d guy Amusan who has already lost two elections. If Dimeji & Iyabo defects to ACN then they might have a chance because Dimeji, Iyabo, & Baba plus all other ACN supporters would be pitching their tent against Gbenga Daniel. But if those duo of Iyabo & Dimeji are still in the PDP, I can't see ACN beating PDP. Is it not d same ACN dat lost Ikorodu which is Ijebu in a way, how much in Ijebu proper. |
@Siena, How much it would cost me to convert Peugeout 406 petrol from right to left. Cost both in London and Niaja preferable. You can email me on aolugbeniga@yahoo.com. Thanks. |
Jonathan has committed a diplomatic faux pas by proclaming military action so early on. How do expect Qatarra to take over a city he is d minotry, it is like a PDP Govt forcely impose herself on d people of Lagos. And to add salt onto d injury d PDP goverment would now be based in Lagos. How do u even win a war in enemy territory. Nigeria should have pushed for another re-run which would be monitored by all sunder with renewked vigour and intensity making cases of electorial fraud almost impossible. Perhaps open ballot can be used in d disputed areas where election results were cancelled. But this gung-ho attitude does not make sense. |

I hope we have enough helicopter gun-ships, these are the kind of weapons that are good for close combat battle. Our highly accalamed Alpha Jets were highly in-effectual in the battle of Freetown and Liberia. |

Good, Bad or Ugly some salient words where spoken, even though d guy might be a dunce, those true talk must be taken on board by our leaders especially Nigeria. We cannot pretend every thing is fine wen our society is falling to pieces. We must let every dollar earned count. |
so egyptians are not africans ? Shocked ShockedThe Nigerian situation is lamentable, $300 billion dollars have been mis-managed since the mid 1970's and yet the only defence u have in other to counter what the guy is saying is holding onto some fairy tale stories of Egypt. The Egyptians are Arabs and not Blacks. Can you imagine the new Governor of Ekiti State declaing assets worth over £3 million pounds and yet the said man has not one factory or business that is employing Nigerians. How do u acquire such a wealth when u are not engage or involve in any known economic activity. |
What is d problem in Jos, because if one does not no d problem, professing a solution would be a redundant exercise, what does d xtrians want & what does d Muslims want. Having said that those damn cattle Fulani are a problem, they think they have the God given right to graze their animals anywhere in d country, no wonder they have clash with Yoruba farmers in d SW. If they can do that in d SW which is far from being their territory how much more Jos dat is in d North. |
IS Nigeria and others going to invade IV C when Jos in Nigeria is facing the most brutal onslaught till date. ![]() |
