Car dealership is an industry that is quite viable but laced with a lot of competition, you only need to take a sneak peak into the autos section to understand what i mean. One of d strategy of achieving d 9 cars a month buyout is to introduce things like part exchange which an old car would be use to exhange for one of my cars especially transporters obviously I would mindfull of my profit line, this might include extending some credit lines to some of my would be customers, even though I really don't want go down dat line in Naija but it might be d way forward. |
You have only 7.5million sir!Land is 2 a penny in d wilderness of Taraba bordering Cameroon, we are not talking Lekki here, most Nigerians are so short sighted, they hardly look beyond there noses. I remember once when I came to Lagos, and I told a friend I wanted to visit Akodo Beach in Lagos, d guy told me he had never heard of d place b4. I took d guy there & he was suprised a place like dat existed In Lagos, d water on d beach was so calm, in fact d calmest beach in d whole of Lagos. I am sure if u build a house on dat Beach I doubt if u would ever experience flood. |
Another Good idea is go buy hectres of land in Taraba State & go into Tea & coffee plantation farming with d view of exporting. Kenya & Cote de boîte live & breath by there Tea & Coffee. But all these Malo killing people in Jos & Maiduguri makes d biz un-attractive. I don't t want to be part of Boko Haram's unfortunate statistics , moreover this biz is too long term, I have not got d patience for it. |
THere is one stock I am eyeing " Tullow Oil " quoted in d London Stock Exchange, they are d one tapping Ghanian oil, I have this funny haunch the stocks would quadruple in d next 18 months. Abi make I just close eye bang d whole dough into this one, d Stocks looks like a dead cert. |
One of the ideas I am toying with is selling 100 cars a year, at a minmum profit of £1000.00 or N250,000.00 after all cost have been deducted. It would mean selling 9 cars a month. What I find in Naija is most people want to make 100 times d money they invested, what then happens is u see a car that is meant to be sold driven all over d town & probably sold for cost price or even at a loss 8 months after. Even if it is sold at a profit 8 months after d profit must be seen as profit/8 which in d grand scheme of things is not good enough. A good turn around is good for business. This thread is not about me, it is about our people changing there business culture. It is a shame most d big busineses of d 80's & early 90's have all packed up when they should be waxing stronger. How many of MKO Abiola's busineses are still alive today, we should have a new mind set. By selling a 100 cars to needy families a year at rock bottom profit I am actually providing a service. So it is about providing a service to my people. I still see Datsun 120Y plying d streets of Ibadan as Taxis, a car built in 1976. I think entrepreneurs should see those eyesores on our streets as a challenge dat requires urgent attention. |
My oga’s for obodo oyinbo want to pay me off, after serving them diligently for 13 years in the British Civil Service(“I don clean yansh tire”), I told my wife that I want to go back to Naija to invest, because I believe it is faster for me to turn £30,000.00 or N7.5 million Naira into N100 million Naira in Naija than to turn to £30,000.00 into £400,000.00 in England, moreover in Naija you get away from the un-necessary Tax Liabilities that you incur just breathing the air here. Advice from 419 guys are not welcome as I can identify your undesirable antics from a million miles away. So ladies and gentlemen crack on, please give me some ideas that can work back in Naija. |
It is a private Uni, for crying out loud, if u don’t like there rules get d fuuuuccck out of the place, na by force. |
The fact is we use to have Kingway Retail Stores in our cities, Bata footwear in our cities, Leventis Stores in our cities, obviously when our currency crashed by almost 2,500% income stood at the same level for so many years. In Nigeria income stood at 1984 levels for a long time so by 1994 the damage was already done, income only started going up recently by between 3 to 4 % yearly since 1994 thereby impoverishing our people. I can remember my mum who was an astute saver had over N100,000 naira in 1984 in her account, which was about $70,000.00 dollars then, by 1994 it was worth just about $2,000. If our income has gone up as our currency was crashing our so called legislators who today are getting an income equals to100 million times that of the lowest paid public sector worker would not have been paid that kind of money because the money they are getting now would have been evenly distributed within and amongst the rank and file of the civil service. For instance in the UK, the new Conservative government announced to the civil servants that the highest paid civil servant must not get more than 20 times the lowest paid civil servant, and if anyone is getting that income that person should apply for compulsory redundancy. |

In the UK over 600,000 are employed by this sector. The whole of Lagos has tops 3 malls, that is a shame for a city of 20 million people. Most of state Capitals don't even have a mall, that should show the level of development Nigeria is at the moment. For instance there is no reason why Tinapa in Calabar should be a failure, Tinapa should be able to tap into the 1 million people living in Calabar to sustain itself. But be because we pay slave wages 75% of Nigerians cannot even buy an apple in a shoping mall yet we are one the Richest Country in Africa. What is the point been the richest nation in Africa when our citizens cannot buy a single apple in a shopping mall. |
The budget is a budget for someone planning a quick exit and early retirement from Aso Rock. Those two Jonathan & Sambo are doomed already and they know it, they have deicided to pursue plan B with reknewed gusto than any other scheme, they are already planning a life style outside the prying eyes of all u armed chair critics. |
Our President an Easterner using pre-1967 division of Nigeria cannot fix a major road dat connects d most commercial city in Nigeria with d East. Can someone tell what he can fix then. ![]() |
If this year he built just the Benin-Ore road, and he said more would still be coming then we know better days are ahead, but I don’t know what to vote him for.”This road has been bad close to 8 years now, that is 2 pdp terms, enough reason for any sane person not to vote pdp in the next dispensation. |
Two things here thus : 1. It is good to educate your kids, we can see Bukola is his own man and makes his own decision not following his father's every beckon like mu-mu. 2. It would appear that Saraki Jnr- Bukola is an ingrate, after enjoying a gift giving to him on a platter of Gold he has turned against the hand that made a man out of a boy. Bukola was an errand boy prior to been the Governor, OBJ would not even give him any serious post, making him a lowly special Assistant. The third point is, if Saraki senior wants to continue in his accustomed way and style ACN is the party to associate with. Kwara State is naturally an ACN State(forget all these rigging), even if the candidate is a goat, that Goat would win, now combine an ACN Goat with Saraki's influence need I say more. ![]() But there is a catch thus, can Tinubu and Olushola Saraki wear the same Trousers. The answer is CAPITAL -NO hence the ANPP option, which throws everything open for every single party. |
On the balance of fairness, the mauling or should I say the wasting of eleweomo was a fight skewed in favour of the Senator by 60% to the Senator and 40% to eleweomo. It was a fight on the surface of it that bears all the hallmark of a classical western gun duel. Unfortunately there are salient rules to this macabre game of brinkmanship. The presence of a reasonable or some semblance of officialdom would make the most hardened and un-ruly of men to become meek even if for a second and toe the line of good behaviour, thereby giving the other person that edge and element of attacking first. This killing was pure cowardice by the senator, not a fair fight, an act in all ramifications similar to the shameful shooting of a man behind his back. I am sure when this dastardly act was committed successfully, despite the Senator losing two men and escaping by a whisker, the bloooody over paid and over-indulge law office of the federal republic would have been boasting and banging his chest at those who wishes to listen to his phantom tales of bravery not knowing before them stood a man who has just commited a callous and shameful cold blooded murder. In fact I think eleweomo's group did well despite the initial element of suprise employed by the Senator, by killing two of his aides. Like the old west, people who shoot men behind the back themselves don't live too long to continue peddling their tales from moonlight. I once read a book about the old west, a man once shot a dreaded master gun duelist at the back, by so doing he took the crown of being the fastest gun-man in the west, what it meant then was who ever kills him would automatically become the next legend of the west, u can imagine the number of takers after this man's scalp. I am sure the Senator is aware that long knives are out all over Oyo state to take his scalp and whoever succed would step into the un-enviable shoes of eleweomo. |
Tokyo should watch his back Auxillary, eleweomo's Lieutenant would be avenging his boss watch out for motor park fight part 2. |
You don't have to be Einstein to know d Senator was spoiling for a fight, already information must have already been passed to him dat eleweomo & his boys would be there with all their weaponry. Basically It was down sheer Bravado by d Senator to come to d venue obviously buoyed by his mobile guards who probably have been given specific instruction to hit d head man of eleweomo's gang, by doing so d fight would be over b4 it even started. I think what we have here is you kill or be killed, d Senator lost two aides this is one Russian roullete I would not want get involve in, it is a game of death only played by men who has written their wills, d senator after all escaped by sheer luck. |
Pls where are War hardened Angolans and perhaps the Zimbabweans? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zimbabwean_Fifth_Brigade Zimbabwe's dreaded fifth Brigade b4 they were disbanded in the late 1980's was one African's most outstanding fighting Units , but they were disbanded after they brutally crush uprisings in Matebeland in the early 80's leading to over 20,000 civilians death. |
or someone who does not support jonathan in your previous post, i doubt you sincere. I am totally against the move.Jonothan's hands are tied, this is a regional decision not a single countries decision. If 14 other partners want to use force would Jonathan say no and look like a coward? ![]() |
This conflict might be Jonathan's Joker or get out of jail card, any President facing declining support at home from time memorial almost always take the hideous and treacherous route of military adventurism with the hope they can pull a quick fast victory which would make their approval ratings at home hit the roof. General Galteri's ill concived invasion of the Malvinas or Falklands comes to mind, I just hope it would not be a repeat of another shoddy military misadventure with a disgraceful consequence. ![]() |

A nation that has chosen to pay her Legislators(by the way only 550 individuals) $1.7 million dollars a year would go no where. Those salaries should be cut to N3million a year, and I can bet my life their would be enough takers in the land vying for this post therby enabling ordinary folks to chase that elusive and phatom dream of becoming a lawmaker. The savings made from this salary cut should be use to put more booths on the ground. Can u imagine a nation of 150 million people only having 85,000 personnel in the Army, Airforce and Navy. One of the major problems that bedevils us in Jos and Maiduguri is, that we have not got enough booths on the ground. We should have a minimum 1 million people in uniform, ranging from the Army, Police, SSS, Airforce, Special forces and navy personnel. |
Why are we not seeing bombings in the christian strongholds of southern Nigeria. Is it not a Muslim group that claimed responsibility which the Sultan described as facelessThere have been 2 bombs in Jonathan's backwater within the last 2 weeks, even Mr President is scared of going for an official opening in Yenogoa, so Mr man your statement is a fallacy. |

Oga Tokyo started the war, says Eleweomo Interview Nov 24, 2010 By Leke Adeseri, Regional Editor, South West & Ola Ajayi As one approached the residence of one of the factional chairmen of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, Alhaji Lateef Salako, a.k.a. Eleweomo, one needed no soothsayer to tell him he was entering into a lion’s den. Though things appeared normal but, many loyalists were always on the look out for any unusual movement around the man’s location. That reporters were dilly-dallying on where to park their vehicle was enough to raise suspicion in the camp of Eleweomo. By the time they parked in the premises of a school, hordes of his supporters armed with pump-action guns were already out with their fingers on the triggers. But, immediately the reporters introduced themselves, they relaxed and warned the visitors never to behave the way they did knowing the situation in the city. The reporters simply nodded in agreement. Eleweomo looks like an innocent child who could hardly hurt a fly. When he speaks, one begins to wonder if there is a mistake of identity. He is gentle-looking and soft spoken. But one could feel after all these descriptions that there is no art to find mind’s construction in the face. He speaks about how things fell apart between him and his former boss, Alhaji Lateef Akinsola, a.k.a. Tokyo. FIRST signs of division among the two One of our union members was injured in the head. When I saw him, I told them to go and call the person that fought with him. But the man did not heed my call. I went there myself, but I was shocked at the way the man was behaving to me. Alhaji Lateef Salako, a.k.a Eleweomo, Tokyo and I are the ones causing problems in the state Notwithstanding, I took the boy that was wounded to the hospital. When the problem started in Molete, I had to tell Tokyo on phone that he should be coming home after narrating what happened to him. The crisis started on June 2, 1999. In the evening of that day, when I heard that he had come back, I called him that I would see him later. The problem that started the previous day had spread to Beere where many vehicles were vandalized. But, thank God, the police did not allow it to spread to other motor parks. Based on the crisis, the Commissioner of Police invited the two of us to the police headquarters at Eleyele. When we got to Eleyele, Alhaji Tokyo had arranged some people who were speaking against me. I then asked him to check his call log and see how many times I called him but he refused to pick my calls. And I told him that the following morning, I called but was told he was sleeping and the secretary that picked my call the first time also switched off his phone. The commissioner asked us to sign an undertaking that we would maintain peace, after which we were asked to go. When we left the police, the governor called us that we should see him. That was around 10.00 p.m. Governor spoke like a father to the two of us that we should not be fighting. When the Governor entered the place we were waiting for him, he just prostrated fully for the two of us pleading that we should sheathe our swords. When we saw that the governor prostrated, as Yoruba men, both of us prostrated too for the governor. He said we should allow peace to reign. When we left there, to show my innocence and absolute loyalty to him, I boarded his personal car. I was the only one with him apart from the driver. Alhaji Tokyo kept on raging and threatening me that he would still go for another term in 2011 and he would not hesitate to kill whoever may be standing in his way. I was afraid and kept on praying that God should let me alight from his car safely. When the car stopped for me to alight, I prostrated for him that he should not be offended and that God should help us to avoid problem. Tokyo’s query But, the following day, Tokyo sent a query to me. I then asked if I was the one to be issued query. Notwithstanding, I answered the query and sent it to him. He sent it back that I should direct the reply only to him. He wrote some note on it that I should go and remove all those people I copied because I copied the Commissioner of Police, Director SSS, and our national office in Abuja. But by the time he sent it back to me, I had already sent the copies to those places. By that time, I never knew there was another plan in the offing. The following day, I was in my house at the other end when I started hearing gun shots. I could not go out, all the neighbours were running helter-skelter. If not for my defective eye, the matter would have been worse. They could have killed me. I was eager to know what was actually wrong. Before I knew what was happening, the attackers were already jumping into my compound after climbing the fence. My guard outside was killed and two of my children were hit by bullets. There was serious confusion. In fact, it was my neighbours that helped me call the police. May be the police and the criminals missed each other on the way, it was shortly after they had left that the police came. When my neighbours started talking outside, I knew they had gone. The following day, many drivers from units came to sympathize with me, but Tokyo did not come that time. We were picking spent bullets on the ground. The police invited us again the following day. When I wanted to leave for the police station, I asked him if I should come to his house so that we would go together but he said no. I went to the police station alone and stayed for over one and half hours, Tokyo did not come. After sometime, I had to tell the police that I was going. I don’t know how the police got the information that he was hiding on the roof of the house. He was claiming that he did not know anything about the matter. If he did not know, why was he hiding in the roof of his house? The following Thursday, we all appeared in Abuja where the National Working Committee had to ratify the decision of the union. The electoral committee that came asked three members each from all the units and local governments and they all said they wanted me as their chairman. The committee said it had no power to elect me as the chairman but it had the power to appoint me as the acting chairman. Industrial court This made him go to the National Industrial Court, they struck the matter out and the same thing happened the second time. It was the third time that some unit chairmen were given judgment that they should go back to their offices. It was not Tokyo. He was not the one that instituted an action against me, it was those chairmen. That first time they said they were attacked was not true. Tokyo and his men are just causing hardship for all commercial drivers in the state. When the drivers are coming from Lagos, they would force them to stop and collect all their money from them. If any of them failed to co-operate, they would break the windscreen and all side mirrors and windows and ask him to report at Olomi. If they report at Sanyo Police Station, they would tell them that the place is a ‘no go area.’ So, that was what caused the problem that time. They stopped four buses but one of them escaped. But the drivers in the other three buses were brutally killed. They shot them in the stomach and chest. So, the one that managed to escape went to Iwo Road and mobilized other people. They did not even bother telling me. May be they knew I would advise them not to fight. By the time, I waded into the issue, it had gone out of hands. The union members had gone haywire that if they would kill all of them, let them go ahead. They would not tolerate a situation that they would go on trip to Lagos and somebody would stand on the way and take all the money they had laboured for all day. By the time they had time to attend to those people that were shot, they had died. I did all I could to check the crisis, but it went out of my control. When they claimed they had got the judgment, it was on Saturday when there was nobody in our office that they went to break the doors with guns, cutlasses and axes and said they had taken over. If I was blood thirsty like them, it would have been more calamitous for the two sides. I heard they were going there. If I had thought the way they had thought, things would have been worse than this. All my supporters living in that area ran away for fear of being attacked. How many casualties have you recorded from your end? One, two, three….eeeemmm, four, let me say six. By my count, we have lost six men. That day, they killed three people and at another time, they killed a couple. All the people they killed were the breadwinners of their families. Imagine that. Where is Mukaila, aka Auxiliary? We heard he was injured in one of the crises. It is a lie. They are lying. There is nothing wrong with him. When that crisis was on, he did not know on time. One man asked me too. I just called him (auxiliary) to know where he was. He told me he was at Iwo road and I told the man to go and see him there. If someone is injured, you cannot continue to hide him. The man saw him. He is hale and hearty. Some even said he had been killed and some said he was in the hospital. All these are blatant lies. Don’t you think you owe the people of Oyo State, especially those living in the crises-prone areas some apology? It is not like that. Why they told you that is that ……pause…If you ask in this neighbourhood how gentle I am…. Some people would come just the way you came and later unleash terror on people and run away. So, it is because of such people that they stood on guard. My gate was free before and people just walk in to fetch water. How do you think this problem can be resolved? Any matter that is in court, it is court that would settle it. I said something before we started that Tokyo and I are the ones causing problems in the state. The police should detain the two of us. And when that is done, there would be peace in the state. We are the agents causing apprehension and tension in the state. Why should we be suffering the innocent people who are not our union members? It is unfair. As we are now, no one can claim he is the chairman, the union has been proscribed. And Industrial court is not the end of the matter. The Appeal Court is there. As things are now, Senator Lekan Balogun and others are behind Tokyo and it seems you are hiding under the governor. Don’t you think that the union has been hijacked by politicians? If the union is politicized, it was Tokyo that started it. He started it during the tenure of Alhaji Lam Adesina. He entered into some secret pact with the then governor and said we should work for the party to win the state. |
Party blames Fashola for loss of Ikorodu The Lagos State chapter of the Democratic Peoples’ Alliance (DPA) on Wednesday described the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN)’s loss of Ikorodu Constituency 2 to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as a vote-of-no-confidence passed by Lagosians on the regime of the Lagos State governor, Babatunde Fashola. According to a press release by the party, the defeat of the Action Congress in the by-elections was no fluke. “This government has failed to make people the centrepiece of its policies. Those who constitute the silent majority finally decided to speak through their votes in Ikorodu; and the message is loud and clear - Fashola has failed woefully to positively impact commoners’ lives,” the statement said. The by-election was held on Thursday, December 23, to replace an ACN member of the State House of Assembly, who died in office. The party explained that Ikorodu Town represented the typical rural settlement in Lagos, which had suffered utter neglect and deprivations at the hand of the Fashola government and that the ACN will suffer a similar fate should free and fair elections hold in Alimosho, Iju, Badagry, Epe, Lekki and other places. It said the PDP won because of the Lagos State government failed to provide good roads, drainages, potable water, and stable electricity among other things for the people of Ikorodu. “In these past three years, [Mr] Fashola has concentrated projects and developments on metropolitan Lagos, to the neglect of other places. Projects have been massed on routes leading to and from Alausa the seat of government, the Ikeja Airport, and government houses in Ikeja GRA, Ikoyi, and Lagos Marina,” the DPA said. According to the party, the result of the Ikorodu polls reflected the people’s irritation at the government’s demolition of houses and business places, without provisions for compensations and alternatives. “The Ikorodu-Shagamu expressway remains impassable and a deathtrap; with many goods’ lorries and petroleum tankers ending up belly-up, with attendant loss of lives and possessions, when they try to ply that session,” it said. Ikorodu flooding Recalling floods that affected parts of Ikorodu Town withing the year, the DPA said the Mr Fashola’s government was yet to account for the N700 million President Goodluck Jonathan provided for victims of the disaster. “Those in the refugee camp are today suffering utter neglect and deprivations; and many live in subhuman conditions. They don’t even know when they will return home and can as yet see no visible programme being put in place by government to prevent a reoccurrence,” the party said. “Moreover, this regime’s capital of friends is fast depleting, because it has spent its life span fighting, intimidating and victimising virtually everyone: Doctors, teachers, drivers, okada riders (commercial motorcyclists), traders, business people, market women, street traders, the unemployed.” Losing Ikorodu The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the Ikorodu Constituency II Bye-election, Olugbenga Akinwale Oshin, won the election with a total vote of 3,438, which was 416 votes higher than the total vote of the Action Congress of Nigeria’s candidate, Olusayo David Alagbe. Kazeem Adeagbo, one of the PDP supporters who spoke to NEXT after the election result was announced, said the victory signals “Ikorodu’s salvation.” “ACN is not popular in Ikorodu. They have no structure here and all they do is make noise. Now, we are beginning to save ourselves and the salvation will be completed in the next general election,” he said. The loss had come as a shock to Can supporters. “We are surprised,” said Femi Maribade, an ACN’s supporter, who attributed his party’s loss to “over confidence.” “Up till about four days ago, there was no noise from the PDP camp and we thought we will win easily,” he said. |

Mr KnowallAnd you too should know Mr KnowAll is not one of those who would be intimidated by how much you earn because it has no meaning to me.(for all we care u might be one of those humpty-dumpty in our House of Assembly who have not done a day’s job in their life) Your N20 million is noting especially when it is stuffed underneath your bed, people with that kind of money in a develop world know how many people they employ not on slave wages. If 1000 of your type who are fortunate to have or earn N20 MILLION as you seem to claim, the horde of restless, un-employed, under-employed and angry youths that abounds in Nigeria would be gainfully employed on a good pay thereby reducing the social vices that has become the bane of our society. The dastardly act of Armed Robbery, prostitution and Kidnapping would not be the order of the day in our society, if men like you are doing something positive to enrich our economy and live up to their responsibilities. I personally would implore your type to pay that Toll because in a way I sympathise with Lagos State Government that is some serious loss of revenue for the state. It is common knowledge the so called super-rich don’t pay their taxes in Nigeria hence why the state is targeting all asunder without discrimination, a bit draconian to say the least but an aggressive attempt to take from the rich that lives in Lekki. |
To be in the Nigerian House is like winning a lottery ticket. A prudent and modest Assembly man after 4 yearS as a reps or senator should be worth a conservative $1 million dollars and to think some of those law makers would go straight from the four corners of our Universities without any experience whatsoever to this doyen of Super-Earners beats one’s imagination. This callous regime of handing a lottery ticket to 500 individual’s year in year out is not sustainable and must be stopped, no country in the world would go down this road of un-wanton and blatant wastage of her resources. ![]() |
And finally, why is the Man of God not making himself more useful with private discussions with the truly needy in the prisons? Why not take up the cause of those unfortunate ones still awaiting trial? George, who looked trim and well fed, was dressed in a white kaftan with brown sandals. He held a private discussion with Adeboye for about three minutes during the cleric's visit to the penitentiary.Go and read the article again, he only spent 3 minutes with Mr George. 3 minutes to me sound like a man going through the motions with Mr George (that is exchanging pleasantries or small talk) rather than a man bidding for George’s release. |
