As far as humans have been maintaining records, it is reported that at least 25% of people born in every generation, men and women alike, go on to never marry and/or procreate. So, even if a person desires it, the fact that there are not enough people out there to marry will always be an issue against this suggestion that it is all driven by desire alone.

Again, the book specifically indicates that the man would need to leave his father and his mother before he could then cleave to a woman— there is no indication whatsoever that the woman ought to do the same for her to become one with the man. So, if your tradition and laws specify that which is completely different from that which is recorded in the book, then clearly, both systems are in no way connected.
