^^^^yeah. create a new user id to push an erroneous opinion. |
@trex73 christlike not christ-equivalent. get that clear. |
Trex73:longevity and godliness are two different things. Zoroastrianism is much older than organized christianity and it has existed for centuries but it does not acknowledge christ. That doesnt make it a thing of God. Trex73:How do you know that? because he has chosen to question and understand what he lives by doesnt automatically make him an apostate. He might be trying to refine your thinking but that doesnt make him a kaffir or unbeliever. Trex73:Please supply the bible verse that says I am to consider myself as Jesus not a follower of him (the focus is now on you not on the Author and finisher of our faith but on you). It is an idea of Jewish occultic origin to assume yourself to be part of the Godhead. That is the basis of Kabbala not of Christianity. In Kabbala, God exists in all of us not separate from us. Christianity teaches us that God exists independent of us. Note the difference and know where your inspirations come from. Dont let modern/occultic philosophies corrupt your worship of God. |
I don't think they really care. Population control benefits us, first and foremost. It isn't as if they share a border with us. . . so if Africa and Nigeria becomes an overpopulated, poverty-stricken land, it won't affect them negatively. No hordes of poor people streaming into their country Also, the world won't be half black for the forseeable future. There are more Chinese alone on earth than blacks. . .
I was just being pedantic. however, i can foresee major upheavals if we keep increasing in population without corresponding growth. If we are complaining about unemployment now, then we havent seen anything yet. There's a need for a solution. Fast. |
The prospect of a half-black world must be quite scary. |
His suggestions make perfect sense but they wont happen. How do you convince the political class to give up 100+ juicy Assembly/Reps positions in the interest of forward movement? And how do you convince all those agitating for Ibarapa state and Anang state to give up their aspirations and go back into regional mode. it wil be hard to create an eastern region nowadays (other tribes will not want people to lord it over them.) |
tried to put myself in that position but its hard to imagine. How do you handle someone old enough to have had you as a baby @14? |
@Playmode we have all those. there's a birth and deaths registry in every local government. Its just not enforced and monitored adequately. Thats where birth and death certificates come from. @the troll (gernded): Contributing meaningfully wont hurt you for once. How is population management done in Ghana? (at least you should be able to oppress with that instead of posting useless posts). |
accepted Benzion72. my apologies if i hurt your feelings in anyway. lets end it. |

Yes I depend on my carpenter to make chairs and the mechanic to repair cars and at the end of the day, I pay them what they deserve. In the same way, their money is useless if graduates , like myself and many others, do not manage the institutions that provide the services they need. No amount of apprenticeship/freedom will make an uneducated mechanic the MD of NNPC/Shell/ Chevron. It Cannot happen. Some doors are just closed to you. |
For all those complaining about the choice of location, Adding more power through a power grid means that the unused power can now be distributed to OTHER AREAS OF LAGOS. Thats 114MW extra that can be given to Iyana Ipaja and the others. more for Lagos island does not leave out other areas. Its a Win Win. Now, if only NEPA/PHCN would stop hiding away all those prepaid meters. |
Pelumiv:My programming experience was fraught with many starts and stops because i kept coming up against all manner of obstacles related to the nature of the language (learning how to configure apache with mysql and php was really irritating. Thank God for WAMP and XAMPP). Doing all that plumbing delayed the pleasure and also having to navigate all that syntax(sigils at the back of variables among other things) at the beginning. I coded python initially and left because someone convinced me then that php was way cooler and besides I didnt have a clear idea how to get it on the web. Looking back I can say that coding python always had this ease/feeling of power associated with it (mind you, doing funny stuff with arrays or magic class functions in PHP makes me feel smart). During my youth service, i had to handle the readouts from a VSAT and manually copy some parts out into an excel sheet. While poking around, i found out the system came with Python bundled. I picked it up and created something worthwhile(using python regexes) before going home. It felt really geeky and good. Even when you dont totally know the syntax, you can guess (thats another reason I liked Java back then but am real rusty now) what the right thing is (PHP is meant to be that simple too but I havent gotten the spirit completely though the flow comes and goes sometimes). |
How much would it cost to build a block of 4 flats? i have been trying to get my head around the concept but I cant understand how long it would take to recoup your money among many questions? please assume cost of land is 5M and the land doesnt require extensive sandfilling. just buy and build status. How much would it cost to build a block of four flats with 3 bedroom apartments. |
lol |
About time we had some of those. Checked the New Posts and its clear there are lesser people making Programming posts compared to politics and other sections. This should bring it alive again. |
So use that explanation to rewrite what you wrote below and make it clearer. just quoting percentages makes no sense if you dont explain clearly. as for the issue of percentages going above 100, there's usually an accompanying explanation or the context is usually clear e.g "the value of the stock soared 600% in 2010". Not just quoting numbers like a layman: Nairaland Members 90% market sellers, 30% PDP. BE CLEAR, thats it. |
make use of the advert section on this site or make use of nairalist for this purpose. thanks |
@muskeeto He is actually making use of this forum as it was meant to be used. If you have the answer, provide it. DONT INSULT THOSE LESS KNOWLEDGEABLE, it gives the impression you dont really know the answer and dont even know that much about computers and would rather cover it with mockery and insults. |
Gaining top proficiency in either takes years so you simply have to decide what exactly you need to achieve. At some point in both cases you would need knowledge of the other area. So I would suggest you reframe the question to "Which to do first?" and that depends on your character as a person. An easy way to find out, take CCNA (networking actually but pretty close in experience to what a typical telecom course is) and experience what its like to learn lots of commands and use them from Memory and what it feels like planning/administering a network and compare that feeling with what you would get from building stuff using codes. That would tell you more than we can type here. besides its a pretty cheap way to test and make a life decision. (Cheaper compared to what you would lose embarking on the wrong one only to realise you are a programmer at heart or the "chosen one" telecom engineer). I am more of a programmer tho but lately I have been doing stuffs that required some programming and some telecom/networking hardware/knowledge. its fun and if you later get the chance to marry the two YOU WILL REALLY LOVE IT. trust me. Ciao |

If you attend a university and do not come out with something worthwhile, the fault is yours. If you attend and you do not leave with a deeper understanding of why your course is important to the world, then the fault is yours. The original purpose of universities was to advance the society's knowledge and better solve its problems. A graduate is supposed to be uniquely empowered (if he/she applies himself/herself) to solve the nations problems. |
benzion72:Your car runs on Newton's theories and other dead men. Science by its nature depends on the work of dead men long gone including the Greeks and Arabs who suffered so that generations unborn may profit. Besides some music LPs and some funny antics, how many jobs did fela create? how many dictators did he remove? how much did he add to our GDP? Did he win any Nobels (Literature, Science or Peace)? he's an icon alright and our history will never be complete without it but if he was interested in making a mark in the medical profession, the ONLY PLACE TO DO IT was in a university. lest I forget, Einsteins theories (e=mc2 ) is still at the core of all nuclear power stations. The Krebs cycle (contrary to what your biology teachers are telling you) is not outdated. Your body still goes through that process. And if you want to find out whether Newton's laws are old and useless, Jump off a building and see whether his Laws of motion apply to your fall from the sky. |
Since you speak english, start well. Focus on python (I am a php programmer but I can tell you that if I had to start all over again, I would never have left Python at the initial stage). |
You need to work on your knowledge of mathematics/statistics. Percentages are meant to add up to 100. |
Masters in any art usually possess a form of humility. You dont seem to have such and therefore you deserve no respect. You clearly dont know the difference between a worm, virus or crawler. Learn to accept being wrong sometimes. It doesnt necessarily mean you are any less for accepting. As one great programmer once told me, WE ARE ALL LEARNERS. |
but how can you deliver if you dont have the capacity therein. You can only give of yourself. what you dont have YOU CANT GIVE. |
you are an exception too ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ |
benzion72:Bill gates was already ahead of the curriculum in his chosen field and he's an exception. (besides he was studying economics in university not computer science before he dropped out) and Dangote is there because your country rewards people who know how to work the system. If you are prepared to live your life by manipulating the system then what you said is true otherwise a university education is definitely useful. most Fortune 500 CEOS in the US (some of them even richer than Dangote) attended A UNIVERSITY. Get an education and dont let envy or pride deprive you of what you need. |
what is the world comin to?? can u imagine a woman driving motor cycle?
Dude, come to the east (Southeast to be specific), they do.@Poster, Anybody can be a programmer and a woman can be even more successful if she uses her emotional side/conversational skills to learn more from the customer about what solution is required than a man who would rather assess you analytically at a thousand mile range. besides you are culturally at an advantage: You are bred to be responsible. most women in nigeria can be trusted to cook a pot to conclusion. Cooking takes patience. Same skills needed to be a star programmer who DELIVERS. |
guess dude took the term "Brazillian hair" literally. I see the work of a nagging girlfriend here. forced the poor guy to go to extremes. |
Same here. Graduated from a private school and had classmates who left with passes. Of course we couldnt laugh though the question on everyone's mind was (How can you come here to pay N1m+ and be so lazy as to leave with a pass? Your popsy should simply shoot you.) Yes people do fail. most people that criticize private schools do so because they couldnt afford it then and will do anything to make themselves feel that they did not miss a thing. |
