12large1: Finidi yes just by a little. But, that’s it. Remember finidi had only few world class seasons and was a flop at england. A place where moses got an epl title and was an integral part
Yes you are right Large But Finidi was a class with Ajax.
isan: Lol calm down he plays in scotland and he's not where near prime taye taiwo
Let's see what Calvin has to offer but playing in Scotland should not be an issue cos I remember Erickson Larson played for Celtics and I think SE starter Balogun and Aribo are in Scottish league..
I hope he comes good in SE cos I don't rate Collins and Sanusi.
If I have my way Ebuehi to the right and Aina to the left.
Subzero047: Nacho is a better finisher than most strikers in the EPL,he had the best goal per game ratio in the EPL as a 19 year old, and he had the second best last season
Oga Subzero but you didn't rate Nacho well despite scoring two goals against Liberia.
Please can you make your analysis more broadening on Iheanacho performance so that people can really understand your point of view.
andrew444: My biggest prayer is aina not starting against Cape Verde ,he will be the scape goat
He has played the first game so ebuehi should be starting ,if aina is starting he should be starting at LB
Scapegoat due to one or two opinions on this thread?
Andrew if he perform poorly trust naijas he would not be spared just like the way he was dropped from WC team.
I think those nagging negative criticisms on Aina by one or two here does not form general opinions and mind you those guys love Ebuehi like kilode which is normal but sometimes loving a player should not form a bases of harsh criticisms on his rival.
andrew444: Nigeria won the game but you must always look for a fault
If you dont like aina say it with your full chest, dude hardly got bad games for the eagles but you guys must look for a way to attack him indirectly, even if naija won liberia 7-0 you will still come and make noise about how ebuehi is not playing , you should be happy we got the 3 points , i am sure ebuehi will start at cape verde so that most of you will keep quiet
The hate for aina who has done nothing wrong is so irritating
I would not be surprised seeing someone praying for Nigeria downfall anytime Aina is playing....
Honestly I don't see any much difference between Ebuehi and Aina, anyone of them good for me.
My wish is to have Ebuehi as RB/RWB and Aina as LB/LWB cos I don't rate both Collins and Sanusi though my opinion.
Philosopher1979: Did u watch etim esin play. I heard he was better than okocha but I never watched him play
Chief Icons4 has done justice to your question... Etim Esin was a very good footballer and I want to say no Nigeria footballers enjoyed the love Nigerians have for Etim.
Etim Esin was shot after left camp midnight without informing anybody with his new Peugeot 505 stolen but Nigeria government made sure he was operated upon and still make U20 team to Chile.
This is to tell you how great Etim was..indiscipline ruined his career.A fruitful career for Etim would have been a milestone for Okocha to climb though I will still pick Okocha cos nothing to write home about Etim career.
AndSunGorilla: Na the latter years of Owoblow and Muda Lawal I watch o. I be aburo of una egbon, shey kin dide, ori idobale ni mo wa?
I heard how fantastic Muda was but unfortunately I didn't get to watch a lot of him. And Dr. Owolabi the left foot bomber!!! Got an actual Phd while still playing soccer. Those guys were so disciplined, adokiye the barrister and mathematical too with is engineering degree.
Okay o Aburo... Muda Lawal remain one the best DM that came out of Africa with five afcon appearances(76,78,80,82,84)and member of the great team that missed out 78 world cup with Odiye scored Nigeria. He was honour with Africa sport ambassador.
Yes Felix Owolabi is a PhD holder when he was still playing. Adokiye was a university student playing for Nigeria ditto Segun Odegbami an Engineering student. In the 80s to late 90s we have many Nigeria players schooling and still playing the game.
Andrew Uwe was a University of Ife student playing for U20,Nosa Osadolor Unilag, Adeolu Adekola Unilag, Olaolu Ashaolu unilorin,Tunde Sanni Uni Ife,Patrick Ikeji former NSC director,Gabriel Jigbale OAU and some members of Nigeria U20 to Mexico 83,U17 and U20 85,Saudi 89 and Scotland 89 went to United States to further their studies....to be noted Jonathan Akpoborie and Mike Emenalo graduated from United States universities before going to Europe for professional careers.
I think the lured of lucrative contracts in Europe has put stop to these unless the ambitious one like Ndidi who I heard is doing his degree now.
Honestly good to have degree as a player cos my good friend Seyi Olofinjana is reaping it now and also a close pal like ex polish international Emma Olasadebe, Niyi Ogunlana, Akeem Lawal, Dayo Ajoge.
charlesemeka85: Latest transfer deadline day speculation is that Chidozie Awaziem could join fellow Super Eagles star Terem Moffi at French Ligue 1 side FC Lorient.
The talk is that Lorient will initially take Awaziem, 24, on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.
Should this transfer go through before Tuesday’s deadline, it will be the second time defender Awaziem will play in France after he previously played on loan at FC Nantes three years ago.
In this summer transfer window, Awaziem has also been linked with Turkish champions Besiktas.
He came through the ranks at FC Porto, who shipped him out on loan severally before they finally sold him to another Portuguese club Boavista after a successful loan spell this year.
He has already been capped 22 times by Nigeria and has scored a goal.
22 caps international on loan just like how Omeruo on loan wahala... Awaziem deserves better deal.
AndSunGorilla: Up sooting!!!!!! That's my darling team, I grew up supporting tiri SC listening to the radio nigeria live commentary. The days of friday Christopher, Muda lawal, ogbein fawole, edith agoye, john benson, isiaka awoyemi, Kabiru baleria, david ogaga, Olumide Harris, felix owolabi, wasiu taiwo, demola bankole, tunji adeyemi, mutiu adepoju, dotun alatishe, ajibade babalade, gbenga okunowo, mercurial taofik Malik ati bebe lo (abbl).
I Don spot my age mate o.. Respect AndSunGorilla... Chei Ogbein Fawole, Felix Owolabi and Muda Lawal
TheSuperNerd: Chidozie Collins Awaziem (Boavista) also deservedly makes Sofascore's Portuguese Primeira Liga NOS TOTW after his masterful Libero display at the heart of Boavista's defence.
BascoVanVeli: I won't stop defending this because there was absolutely nothing there. I posted a video of Luis Suarez using the same move. My main issue is with u guys claiming that his intention was to hit that player when clearly he was removing the guy from his space and now u are using meaningless issues to judge this situation. The same fight and aggressiveness that u guys are bashing is what got him this far in life. All u should ask is that he manages it which he is doing.
What do you mean by meaningless issues?Baba pls always calm down.
Osimehn belong to us and nothing like defending or hating here my man.
Baba his talent brought him to this stage and not fight.
He just needs to manage his success with care cos this season he must shake the table with CR7 and no need for unnecessary cards.
JohnBullMySon: Never chest. He missed the face and hit his jaw.
Pic 1: Osimhen going for his face and neck.
Pic 2: Osimhen's hand lands clearly on jaw and neck.
Violent conduct, straight red. What are you even arguing?
I think time for us to stop defending what is not...Osimenh just need to take it cool and stop behaving like upcoming player. Osimehn should realized that he is a big star and a role model to some young ones and his behaviors on and off field is important.
I remember how he almost messed up with Punch newspaper, his party photo despite covid restrictions uploaded by a friend and his club reaction. Also his outburst with Leon Balogun during training as a rookie in SE.
I think some of his red cards offences can be avoided if he is cool especially this one we are discussing.
Osimenh missing three games due to red card is a big minus to Napoli as a club.
TheSuperNerd: The Magic pass of Awaziem: MOTM showing and that World class pass, A Madness
Chidozie Collins Awaziem's assist isn't talked about enough. That pass is worth 30million pounds You don't pass like that if it's not in you. Either you have it or you don't. Kaaiiii...
Who here remembers Alessandro Bastoni's Mad long range Assist last season vs Juventus (to Barella) that got the whole of Serie A talking?
Well, Chidozie Awaziem produced something of similar top quality. World class pass from his own Defensive half over an entire defence and midfield and into the final third for his teammate, Hamache, to chase and convert into a goal. Awaziem beat an entire team's outfield Defensive network from front to back with that super long range pass. What a ball!
Check out the insane Vision, quick thinking and then the super pass in the highlights clip below... WORLD CLASS DELIVERY.
A clip of a the assist and eventual Goal from various angles:
AWAZIEM HAS MAD LONG RANGE VISION. Showing why he once had a 30million euros release clause inserted into his Porto contract when he first broke out in his first senior season at Porto. Coming into his own at 24.
Deserved MOTM across all stats sites and Portuguese media sites.
His CB-Sweeper role heatmap is also beautiful.
I never rate Awaziem but watching him in the last Afcon as a makeshift RB convinced me enough to say I made a mistake about his potential.
I think the guy has come of age and Ekong who I never rate and lack any potential to convince me as a better CB need to sit down for Awaziem in SE.
Time to see young Awaziem pairing old Balogun in SE.
TheLoneCitizen: Since football began, no winger in Nigerian history is more efficient than Onyekuru for the Super Eagles. He guarantees over 1 goal contribution per game when wearing green.
Victor Moses doesn't come close.
Bro I no understand oh.. Onyekuru is the most efficient winger in Nigeria football history?
AndSunGorilla: Good report sir. Just curious is Kehinde Awoniyi a boy or girl? And is she into sports too? Never heard about Taye Taiwo's twin and well I might be wrong but I also thought Odion Ighalo is a twin too cos it seems Odion is a name of twins (not sure). Just curious to know if Kehinde Awoniyi is married and how old is she sef?
Andsungorilla you go pay me o... Abi na Taiwo age you want to detect or you want to marry Kehinde ni.
If na age matter for Nigerian born player I no dey o but Taiwo is quiet young sha
elyte89: Good move ...I am still hoping for dis guy rejuvenation and hit d ground running,so DT he can pair with osimhen upfront.. DT partnership would b devastating
Walahi I rated this guy highly but injury really dealt with him.
I was with them in UAE and really sad for him when he got injured though it paved way for my boy Awomiyi. Till today Awoniyi always saying thank you Isaac with a joke.
Subzero047: Nacho is a better finisher than most strikers in the EPL,he had the best goal per game ratio in the EPL as a 19 year old, and he had the second best last season
When it comes to finishing I gave it to Nacho even in Super eagles.
wayodude: Haha not yet. This is against a team in the Finnish league. A first rate level level striker would do more damage to this level of opposition I reckon. But all the same good advertisement of his ability. I must confess I haven't always been a fan of his.
Well said.. not a fan say it all meaning you don't rate him.
Hope he can continue with this sudden improvement cos his technicality has improved since last season.
humility33: Thank you bro I was beginning to think and check if it was Berca or Inter Milan they were playing against....any average striker should bang goals against this finish team on a good day
But still...I will say WELL DONE Awoniyi
Baba just give it to my son and thanks for saying well done though you are not a fan.
It's a great boost for any striker to score a goal even against a very low team.
Ask Osimehn why he always happy scoring 4 goals during pre season against non rated teams. I remember when Nacho had hattrick against Scunthorpe in FA cup we are all happy not minding the club level. It gives them the needed confidence.
Awoniyi goals not against Inter should not be your judgment cos I watched this guy against Bayern with his Dad right beside me and I said Taiye just need to improve on his awareness cos he supposed to score a goal but his naivety failed him.
I think he has improved a little bit and let see what will happen this season.
humility33: You simply cant grab my views A player that has talent+hardwork and consistency wil play for Liverpool team easily
If he had so much talent he would tore the German league in pieces
I want to ask you a simple question did highly talented Osimehn tore German league apart....don't you know Wolfsburg would have ruined Osimehn career but thank God for Charleroi for giving us our real Osimehn who is now value at 80 millions dollars.
Did you know that most players just need good developmental ground and faith of a coach to explode.... check out Iheanacho under Pellegrin and Iheanacho under Gardiolla, hope you can spot the difference....
I know you rated Nwakili highly.Pls what can you say about his development....He was released by Arsenal and sold to huesca and funny enough talented Nwakili couldn't make ordinary Huesca team and loaned to Alcoron.I can tell you if giving chance Nwakili would have made Arsenal team as a squad player.
Please just wish Taiwo Awoniyi well in coming season.
humility33: Your assumption is flawed I never questioned if he works hard or not but only expressed my view as regard what makes it possible for a player to play for an elite team like Liverpool...talent+hardwork and consistency which I doubt he has because it would have been visible all this while
Taiwo Awoniyi is a talent and very hardworking young man and being consistent is a question mark that I agreed with you but for him to make pre season show sign of hardworking.
Taiwo is my son so I always pray for him to have a breakthrough with Liverpool though not easy but good for him if he can be registered for this forthcoming season.
My man let's see what will happen this season, possibly he would be a good squad member.
