so you will ignore the fact that he was bad for more than 70% of the game? Do you think that such comebacks happen everyday? Let's look at it critically, he was poor for like 60-70 mins out of 90, that means he was poor
Hope u remember Atlanta 96,Nigeria vs Brazil.Pls go and watch d match again and tell me Kanu's performance in that match.

kanu had a quiet game in greater part of d match but when it reached certain stage Kanu came alive with two great magical moment and two goals that nailed Brazil.

After d match he was given man of d match coz d two goals were massive and we got it at d needed time.

My man w u say Kanu had a poor game coz he was quiet for like 70 mins of d match.

What make a player is not about running up and down for 90 mins alone but sometimes a magical moment when a player need to lift his team.

Kanu did it against Brazil and Uzoenyi did it against Morocco,d two brought a dead team alive again coz at that moment nobody gives Nigeria any chance again, sorry for comparison.

Can PSG lose 6-0 to a team from Cyprus or Albania,?

The players u are referring to as playing in Bosnia, Cyprus or division are Musa Mohammed, Shehu Abdullahi and Dele Alampasu right?

Firstly these are seasoned former youth internationals that we already know their capabilities.

Musa was captain at U17 and U20. Winning d golden boot award at the AYC. Though i do not consider him as matured enough to be in the starting 11 but he is at least good enough to be in that 25man squad.

Shehu Abdullahi played U20 under John Obu. He was part of the Keshi's 2014 CHAN team, he played under Oliseh, and also the Siasia's Egypt double header.

He even performed very well at Rio Olympics. Shehu is a kind of player that will always make the team sheet bc he is a utility player. He plays DMF, CMF and RB all very comfortably well.

For Shehu to leave the NPFL to Cyprus speaks a lot abt our local league. Shehu IMO is better than the league he finds himself playing. He is even nominated as part of the team of the season in Cyprus.

As for Dele Alampasu. He is not on this list so where does division3 come in here now?
Or tell me which player(s) from that Rohr's list that players division3 football.

I dnt base my arguments on sentiments but objectivity and facts.

U mentioned today that u dnt watch the NPFL so you are in no way in a position to advice Rohr or anybody on that.

You said Rohr should look inwards,

who told u he and his crew have not been watching the league?

If they found no player worthy would you force it upon them to pick any player?

Besides is Ikechukwu Ezenwa not a Homebased player anymore?

Was there not a time when Enyeama was the only home based player in the Super Eagles?
My man let end it here,we all want d best for Eagles either with foreign or home based players.

I have said it before that these people shouting MLS this, MLS that cannot boast that come what may the Super Eagles will beat Columbia, Uruguay, Chile, or USA. In the FIFA ranking, USA is 30th, Uruguay is 9th, Columbia is 7th, Chile is 4th. Nigeria is 41 o. Some of the players of these teams play in the MLS, Fernando Adi is bossing them week in week out. Even Kaka was invited to the Brazilian team while playing in MLS.

We have players from Cameroun, Ivory Coast, and Mexico playing in the MLS.

So what's the excuse for not inviting Adi when he is regularly showing his quality in the league. It's not just the goals, it's the ways he scores them. Is MLS not better than Cyprus league? What about Bosnia?

According to a 2016 ranking, here are the top 10 leagues in the world:

1 Spanish La Liga 48
2 Premier League 47
3 Bundesliga 42
4 Italian Serie A 37
5 Portuguese Liga 35
6 French Ligue 1 31
7 Dutch Eredivisie 27
8 Argentine League 21
9 Brazilian Serie A 20
10 USA MLS 20

Source: http://www.totalsportek.com/football/ranking-best-league-in-the-world/

I repeat: What's the excuse? Why not invite him to camp and let him compete. Glad the likes of Siasia and Oliseh are out of the settings with their lies that he cannot undertake rigorous workouts.

My man i tire for guys here coz i don't really understand what they want as related to Super Eagles striker.

It was on this thread that i was hearing Kayode Olarewaju is not d answer,d same thing Adi but Osimieh who has not kick start his professional career is d answer or injury prone Isaac Success is d main man.

The same people w be telling us Iheanacho is not a top 9 but under Guardiola even Pellegrin he is a top striker with good goal ratio to show for it.

Pls ask them to recommend a striker for us coz if u ask them again Ighalo,Ideye are out of it,then who lead d line may be Osarenren Obazee of Hanover.

I keep on mentioning Bosnia and Cyprus coz of Super Eagles players like Musa muhammed(Bosnia)and Shehu Abdullahi(Cyprus)such league w not aid their development compare to their counterparts in Belgian or Dutch league not to talk of EPL,La liga,Bundesliga,Portuguese league.

I'm of opinion that it is better to look inward than inviting player from such league so that it w discouraged our talented players from going into such league.

Honestly i rate Musa Mohammed and Shehu Abdullahi very high.

PSG lost to Barca, arguably the best team in the world.

Rivers United got pummeled by a team from Sudan.

Is the Nigerian league better than the league in Cyprus or Bosnia? Is it not the same obscure leagues where many top players in the Nigerian league end up?

We have talents in the league but let us be honest, if they stay in the league too long, they lose it. The best Nigerian players do not stay in the league.
Bosnia or Cyprus league?i surrender

Olisadebe single-handedly took Poland to world cup and was one of d best striker in Europe then with great review all over d world.

Stop it my man, nobody is saying creating a slot for any home based. If they merit it,they should be called ASAP.They are Nigerian and super eagle is not meant for only foreign based.

I believe PSG is worse than River United with this result,so what a fuss.

My point is cleared,it is better for Rohr to look inward than inviting player from obscure league of Bosnia,Cyprus or division 3.

I already agreed with u that no local good for Eaagles coz u watched d league and i don't have d opportunity of recent.

@bolded is still what I can't fathom but I no agree make we dash home based quota ooo.

We can invite the very good ones but not at the detriment of the better ones in Europe.
I'm not talking about quota for home based but if we can find some of them that merit it,they should be called to camp to slug it out with their foreign counterparts.

But according to ICON4s,NPLF player presently are not good for Eagles which made me sad coz we cannot be going to Europe and be inviting players playing in Bosnia,Cyprus or third division just coz they are foreign based.

I only highlighted the poor quality of pitches to show my tenacity to watch d games despite it nt being TV friendly.

Nobody is disputing the fact that the local league has produced numerous great players in the past.

If u have known me well enough u'll know i am nt d type that will rubbish the local league.

My argument spans from the look of things now, presently in 2017 and not in the 90s, 2002 or 2013. Look at the present set up of the Super Eagles do you think any player(s) from d league can offer some thing superior?

That is why i first asked if u follow the league. And went ahead to ask u to name credible home based players and asked which foreign players to drop.

U have answered that u dnt watch the NPFL. So it means u dnt know anything abt d current state of the players in the league.
If present NPFL cannot produce one or two player for Eagles, then our football future is in serious crisis.

Look, I follow the NPFL to a large extent.
In most cases i always endure the poor quality of the pitch and pictures.

I mostly do nt watch the games live bc of the EPL games bt i watch them later during my leisure times.

I even watched the replay of Enyimba vs MFM game last night enduring the look of that patchy UJ Essuene stadium pitch.

So i know what i am talking about. Any player that must wear the Super Eagles jersey must deserve it.

Taking abt Obinna Nwobodo we never said he was good for d Super Eagles but a good prospect.
Pls whom do we blame for d poor quality of d pitch or are u saying coz of bad pitch d home based don't deserve a call up.

If Obinna Nwobodo is still a prospect for Eagles at 20 then something is amiss. There is need to give this guys benefit of doubt may be they have something to offer instead of saying they are not good for Eagles.

My man talents abound in Nigeria league even in d schools but our major problem is that we are blindfolded with foreign based coz i don't see any reason player playing in Bosnia or Cyprus w be making Eagles squad or a player playing in division 2 or 3 in Europe.

Let me tell u why i believe we can find one or two home based that can find their way into Eagles squad.I have a friend known as Emma Olisadebe who later played for Poland and was instrumental to their qualification for 2002 world cup. This guy was discovered by coach Fanny Amu during NUGA game and preparation for world university game.

During world university game camping,a prolific striker in Nigeria league Edith Agoye needed to be benched for this guy coz Olisadebe was a pure class. After World University game coach Fanny Amu convinced d guy that u need to take football as a career not just playing it,as at this time d guy doesn't have a club but playing normal campus football.

Fanny Amu took him to Jasper United from there to Polish league where he was scoring week in week out.He switched allegiance to Poland coz he was overlooked during Sydney 2000.This guy single handedly took Poland to world cup.A Nigeria University student that left school 1997 and find his way into Poland national team in late year 2000.

Now tell me are u saying we cannot find such player again in Nigeria despite our bad pitch.I believe player like Kanu,Okocha,Amokachie,Finidi,Yekinni,Keshi,Yakubu,Mikel and of recent Mba,Oboboana of Afcon 2013 fame came out of d same league.

the truth is even the home based players will not picked on merit...
still remember the LMC cried out during our first CHAN outing... lamenting that the players picked by keshi were not the league's best...
how could u explain oliseh omission of igbinoba of nasarawa united during the last CHAN despite his attacking prowess from the midfield position

abeg they should let the coach do his Job
Keshi CHAN team still remained d best coz i remember d team won bronze in that tournament.

On Olishe omitting Igbinova from Chan team, then what can u say of Rohr omission of Aluko and Oyekuru from London friendlies..

My point is simple, home based players deserve a look in coz we have a league where players are playing week in week out.

Rohr just need to look inward and see if it's possible to see a rear gem among d home based who can slug it out or even displaced d foreign based.

I am whole heartedly with Rohr's team selection.

The best and most promising talents and professional players are outside this country.

Celestine Babayaro that was making comment the other day, how many home-based players played along with him during his hey days in the late 90s?

We have gone past that time where Keshi would be reserving 5-7 slots for home-based players!

Players should be invited based on merit. If our best 25 players are based in Europe so be it.

The home based eagles had a chance to impress at CHAN last year but they showed they lacked substance. Another CHAN qualifiers will commence soon. Let Rohr use that to assess the players.

No room for mediocrity. We need the best devoid of allotments and allocations.
Pls this home based deserve some respect and not total condemnation. The truth must be told and whether w like it or not Rohr goof for not looking inward for players who can slug it out with their foreign counterparts.

We haven't pass d era of not considering some home based players coz we have a league which i believe no matter what one or two player should find their way into d team on merit but not considering this players at all is out of it.

Rohr is getting it right should not stop us from evaluate his team selection.Nobody is forcing any home based player on him but he need to look inward for quality players.

Reports in Spain suggest Deniz Aytekin may be removed from Champions League duty after making controversial calls in a 6-1 thriller at Camp Nou

The man at the centre of Barcelona’s remarkable comeback against Paris Saint-Germain, Deniz Aytekin, may have taken charge of his last Champions League game this season, according to Marca.

The German referee made a controversial late call at Camp Nou on Wednesday which allowed Barca to complete their stunning 6-1 fightback.

We need a complete number 9.. meaning
1. can take on any defender.
2. can convert from slightest chances (poacher).
3. can score from difficult positions (can create goals out of nothing)
At the moment I don't see any Nigerian player that can consistently do the above.

For now I think we can make do of a poacher, until we find that Ideal striker.
Let me add that I see great potential in Success/Iheanacho partnership. Watch U17 Nigeria vs Mexico group game

Success can muscle defenders and can create chances with ease... Iheanacho can finish
Good point but no Nigerian player can meet this criteria. All we need now is a goal poacher.
