Business / Re: Time Running Out For Nigeria’s LNG Projects by kokosheen(m): 5:27pm On Jul 22, 2014 |
emk4lif: Brass LNG should come on stream by 2017 while Chevron's Escravos Gas To Liquid and Bonny LNG are all also doing quite well, Olokola LNG is however a dead project, both the govt and the IOCs have basically pulled out. Brass FID most likely won't come till 2017, not to now talk of construction. Conoco-Phillips has also pulled out of the project and with their pullout, the technology the FEED was based on needs to be revised as its the proprietary Phillips Cascade process. To get another technology partner on board and carry out the FEED and cost estimation again would take a serious NNPC 2 years. The project is looking more dead than alive. Chevron's GTL is different from LNG and shouldn't be mentioned here - also, FID was gotten way before this present government (ChevronTexaco Awards Major Contract for Nigerian Gas-To-Liquids Project - http://phx.corporate-ir.net/phoenix.zhtml?c=130102&p=irol-newsArticle&ID=693582). OKLNG is as good as dead with the present govt. NLNG Train 7 FID should have be awarded long before now, as the cost of the project compared to Brass would be about 1/5th but giving times 2 the monetary value. This is a project that would pay itself back in less than 3 years after start-up. Seriously, politics is a b-i-t-*-h. 1 Like |

No issues, he should take the old passport to the Nigeria immigration office to stamp it "Cancelled without prejudice" and he can attach it to the new one. This is what they do to expired/replaced passports. |

Shakslayer: I'd wanted to write on the bold text, but wasn't sure of how strongly you feel. In the real sense, you've to MAN-UP!!! I've had something close to that at my former company and we were just 6, so there was no place to hide. But whenever she was around me, I start thinking of all the flaws she had as a person to dim my "LUST" for her. It worked eventually but you could cut the tension in the room with a knife whenever we were alone together. If you place youself in her shoes, what do you think would help her life most? you or a job? The choice is yours. By chance, if you can recommend her another company and secure her a job there, that would be great. |

Shakslayer: So recommend her.... other things shall fall into place |
Romance / Re: An Emotional Dilemma by kokosheen(m): 12:19pm On Sep 19, 2013 |
First thing is if she would add value to your organisation. If she has shown the potential to be an asset, recommend her for a job. Don't forget to think with that brain in your head and not with the organ between your legs Second thing, if you do recommend her, do not work with her at first!!! You can easily explain this to her and you HR that you want her to have a broader understanding of how your organisation works in other departments and do a development plan for her. This might span a year or two. Third thing, if you get her employed in another department and still feel the "LUST", do try and make love to her and get it over with . 1. If she refuses your overtures, you don't have to work with her again at the end of her development cycle. 2. If she agrees and you get bored after a while, you don't have to work with her again at the end of her devlopment cycle 3. If she agrees and you both fall deeply in love and want to leave happily ever after, hmmm, that depends on your organisation's policy and beyond my scope (when it comes to that point, open another thread on NL ). Any of the 3 points above should only be done on a very private level so as not to create the impression you gave her the job because you've been shagging her. Good luck hunting |

Apart from the funds being stolen, the greatest disaster is the environmental devastation in humongous proportion!! You have to see it, to believe it, and you'll weep for ND people... Unfortunately, the main actors are NDeltans themselves as the cry of na our oyel closes all discussions when the issue is raised. For those my XYZ broses in this game, crude oil is a known teratogen and can cause birth defects and changes in fetal development. The target organs for crude oil are the hematopoietic (blood forming) system, lymphatic system, nervous system, and reproductive system. The Benzene component is a known carcinogen and our crude has loads of Benzene. This means that all the fishes, vegetation and water in the region continuously being exposed to crude oil spills will eventually pass on these effects to us..even after the Oyel finishes.. 3 Likes |

atlwireles: Thanks for this, we need to educate some people before they start giving themselves headache over something so simple. davide470: Well, Shale Gas or not..the market for Gas is still active and progressing Everything you wrote is right but errrrr, NLNG Train 7 hasn't been constructed yet (hopefully the President will give the go ahead by signing the FID). 2/3 of the posts on this thread scare me, as I know some of the posters might be connected in one way or other with people that take decisions on issues like this. Information is a very powerful tool and getting the right information is even more key. Please, if you want to learn more about the world's energy sources, market growth and major buyers, kindly google: world energy outlook, you'll get a link to the IEA (International Energy Agency) report on a yearly basis. You can also search for "energy outlook" with qualifiers like BP/Exxonmobil/Chevron which gives reports by these companies chopping the money itself. http://www.worldenergyoutlook.org/publications/ Ciao. 2 Likes |

Politics / Re: Chevron, Shell Pull Out Of Olokola LNG Project by kokosheen(m): 4:46pm On Aug 24, 2013 |
edo.girl: I've read all you've posted to this point and I think you should do a little more research before posting what is plainly rubbish. 1. Brass LNG is not the biggest LNG plant in Nigeria, it doesn't even exist physically yet, only Nigeria LNG (http://nigerialng.com) with a 6 LNG train operation producing 22MMTPA (Million Tonnes per Annum) of Liquefied Natural Gas has been built and producing. The plant not only produces LNG, but produces 4MMTPA of domestic gas (LPG) where 150,000 Tonnes is supplied to the domestic market monthly. 2. The price of LNG has not collapsed around the world (come on, where did you get this rubbish from)!!!. Yes, the traditional markets in America and western Europe have had challenges like Shale gas production and the global economic downturn but this has been greatly upstaged by the market in the far east (quadruple the western price). All exporting LNG plants in the world are making a killing. FYI, NLNG made over $10B revenue last year alone and Nigeria got over 3B USD as profit from NNPC (remember Okonjo Iweala's lament last month about NNPC not remitting NLNG's dividend to the federation account). 3. We need the Brass & Olokola LNG projects up and running ASAP to take advantage of the growth in energy use and yes, I said growth, as LNG is the cleanness form of hydrocarbon and with companies paying premium for CO2 emission (in civilised countries), most manufacturing plants are now being powered by natural gas. Also, don't forget the issue with Nuclear Energy, even though it generates loads of energy more efficiently than other forms, its just not safe. So, until more cost effective renewable energy forms are available, LNG is energy future of the world. In essence, the spiral effect of another LNG plant to Nigeria is enormous as, one the country gets revenue from profit sharing and taxation of the company and its workers, two the number of people to be employed during construction (more 30,000) and when operational (5,000) who are mostly Nigerians helps a whole lot (1 employed person, supports > 6 people, do the maths) and three, the skill set the Nigerians engaged during construction and normal operation is not something you'll ever find in a bookshop or university classroom, which in the long run will help the country to have the skilled workforce to grow the country once our politicians get their act right. I do agree on one of your points though, which is that Nigeria needs to diversify its economy quickly. we can't continue to live like this as the middle and far eastern countries have shown. Please, visit Malaysia which was behind us in terms of economic growth 30 years ago and you'll be amazed what can be done with a little political will (Malaysia is like a Nigeria in another continent in terms of weather, corruption and Oil&Gas). 2 Likes |

Unfortunately the system is being setup to churn out prostitutes, kidnappers, armed robbers and the like.. How can you be paying 65k for an assistant lecturer and you don't expect him/her to do something on the side... If NOI is sincere, she should start the cutting of the recurrent expenditure from her cabinet>>>Damn it - They have two ministerial positions doing the same function (Fed. Minister and Minister of state) with their retinue of PAs, SAs, Assistant & Deputy PAs and SAs. No scholarship endeavour, just pay and pass for the guys and back for ground for babes..... By the way, what ASUU is requesting is for the FGN to implement a 2009 agreement signed by this same set of mofos... And to think the RETARDEEN claims to have been a lecturer, SMH 1 Like |

Zet72: Anybody who feels the statistic raised by Suswan in this article is bogus, should counter it with his/her own verifiable statistic. If you read the original post carefully, you'll note that the only statement attributed to Suswan is the OP's thread title, every other thing written in the post was by a Mr. CLEMENT UDEGBE, a lawyer from Lagos who I guess should be Igbo, go figure on the unrealistic statistics. To put it in context, the amended budget passed for the entire federation of Nigeria this week is N4.9Trillion, imagine all the projects ear-marked in that budget (east-west road, railway rehab, power projects etc) and you say Igbos have assets worth N600 Trillion in Abuja alone!!! Haba, Nigeria as a federation has not made this amount since independence. 9 Likes |
