# oil bunkers

These should not be included by law, but in real terms, they play a very large role in the local ND economy

Wizee: Seems lyk ur out of ur mind, dis is 9ja ooo, if u sue him,wit his money n connection,u wont get a dime and he will go scout free.

How do you know the kind of connection he has and if he does, won't it be an hindrance to have negative news being battered around about him?
Romance / Re: Guys (men) Please Can You Translate This? by kokosheen(m): 5:38pm On Nov 23, 2012
Sweetlemon: But seriously, most people on NL need to learn comprhension skills. The question I asked P the end of my first post is "please what does he mean by he "wants to buy a bed first before we have sex" "? and not "please how can I have sex with or how can I try to convince him to be my boyfriend" so it really surprises me to see all these funny comments about me being desperate to bed him or me tryin to be his girlfriend. One clown even asked me if I was proud of the fact that most guys can't take their hands off me as if the illiterate didn't see where I wrote that I was tripped with the fact that this guy is not in a hurry to bed me. Meaning that I'm very impressed and not desperate to bed him!
#smh
The level of education in Nigeria and quality of graduates keeps getting worse everyday!

You should expect such comments, I think about 50% of posters on this forum are undergrads or still in high school. Personally, I don't mind the mix, some comments (curve balls - I call em) make me laugh sometimes grin.

So take the good and shaft the bad.

@Jarus
im kinda dissapointed in you sir, wont you be ready to help me when i need you? Why do you want to continue the bad blood?

You've being on Nairaland since 2007 and yet all you know is how to insult people.

FYI I don't know too much and the only reason I'm following this thread is to see how I could help, unfortunately, the intention of the OP is suspect to me (personal opinion) since he couldn't correct some assertions he made in his post and if I do contribute to the post might end up helping his scheme.

You want info., you are internet savvy, everything is on the net. Its for the OP to correct himself (he's not a Shell staff) and we can take it from there.

My one pence (You didn't have to throw insults)

Jarus: The OP just doesn't sound like someone that works in Shell (SPDC) to me. There is just this aura of Shell staff that is missing. I can identify a Shell person, indeed oil coy staff, even from internet aura.

Thanks Jarus...

I tried to sound him out but his other IDs are calling me bad bellus grin..

You can order books and they will be delivered to nigeria. Most if not all other stuff won't come through. Either they are on nigerian customs prohibition list or something, but they won't deliver to nigeria. Of course, you can initiate and execute orders from here without wahala, but you need a delivery address in US (or UK - whichever of their sites you are buying from).

Senate said nothing can be done and that she should write in for a refund.

Unilorin's case for now is closed because she can't take the given course. angry angry angry angry angry

Last option: Kwasu

Hopefully she'd be given something within social sciences/management sciences if Accountancy is no longer available

Wow, that's quick. Sorry about the whole issue, for all we know, it might be for the best.

efe2luv:
@Scantee.....Yes u may be right....but it all depends on each individuals level, experience and age.....For a starter/young person i think working in the field should be what u should strive for.....for a young person making a salary of thrice govt minimum wage is considered a good feat .....as one grow older and become more experienced u can now resort to office work where ur remuneration negotiation will then be based on ur working experience........for me i prefer 28/28...i work 6months in a year and earn more salary than an average nigerian full staff oil worker working 12months in a year....

You should know that 28/28 doesn't equate to 6 months in a year. Most likely you've never worked in U/S O&G in Nigeria but you can prove me wrong by typing the right number of months to be worked.

OP gave an email that doesn't exist in the shell system.

This thread is a scam thread.
Phones / Re: Glo Launches 'Glo Bolt' Super-fast Internet Modem by kokosheen(m): 12:51pm On Nov 21, 2012
chinnyonwu: I'd not be impressed till I download at 1gb/sec.

Haba, no country in the world boasts of 1Gb/sec at user end. I've a Glo modem that gives me up to 1.5MBS, which is quite cool (I can stream movies direct and still run torrents in the background).

If they can increase their network speed to range of 10 - 15MBS, then that's impressive.

honeric01:

Thanks, so what do you advice i do?

Most likely the state education secretary you mentioned before might not have much influence, but have you gotten his opinion on this current twist?

Whatever advise he gives you, since you both want her to study accountancy, brace yourself as possibility of a year loss of study is high. You should invite a lawyer as the situation currently is or if you can get across to femi falana's chambers, he might be of great help http://www.falanachambers.com/index.html

Also, start thinking of other schools she might attend next year as Unilorin is known for being stubborn. I hope this ends well.
Education / Re: Help! Unilorin changed her course overnight, What Can Be Done? by kokosheen(m): 4:23pm On Nov 20, 2012
honeric01: UPDATE:

VC called her back to tell her she should "please" take the new course and that there was a new development and the post UME score had to be upgraded, so those who didn't get up to 70 had to be moved even after they have been given admission before. (only course left that takes DE student is human kinetics).

embarassed sad sad sad sad

My honest opinion about the VC's plea - 'Utter Crap'. I've seen this happen many a time which was why I advised that you take charge of the matter. The school (since the VC is now in the game) thinks because she's a new intake, whatever she's offered, she'll take.

I will still advise that you both don't give up.

Romance / Re: Things A Woman Shouldn't Do While Dating A Guy by kokosheen(m): 7:54pm On Nov 18, 2012
OP situations arise when its prudent to do ur BF's laundry.

I broke up with a gf while in school cos she never bothered to ask how I get by esp.ly on laundry things when I had serious injury to my hand which required stitching (I was staying off campus).

After I'd removed the stitches and could do everything with the hand, I let her know how dissapointed I was and we broke up soon afterwards. What played through my mind was her lack of perception and fear of being with someone couldn't/wouldn't help you when you needed them to.

Maybe she read a rule book like this too.

Anyway, the rule is good but not in all situations.

OP disregard comments that you should take your faith like that, in most cases like this, if the victim doesn't complain - they don't get redress.

Please, how possible is it for you to join her in school? Even though your fiancee might know her way around (OND), the low to middle level people (ala secretaries, PAs) are the ones doing this and would want to intimidate her because she's a new intake.

Join her to go see the dean of students affairs and go to the admissions office too. You have a very strong case and don't take NO for an answer.

Why does one need to register before viewing the site?

Me thinks it might put people off from getting on board as they might want to see what the site is about before committing themselves to it.
