Teach your wife about the benefits of saving money for retirement and the rainy days. let her realise money in your hands is power. Once she gets this, there will be no need to hide money from her.

Having said that, yes, women love to shop..so an important prayer is abundance of money so they can spend (with some common sense).

I'm not just whistling dixies. I'm a living witness - my wife used to get payday loan regularly before we got married. so it was war at some point. But she studied my lifestyle of saving and saw the immense benefits. Now, she still shops but with sense. She still buys unnecessary stuff simply because it's on sale. LOL. But thankfully, we live in a world where you can return stuff for full refunds...so yea..back to the store.

If she's your wife - she will see the benefits and listen.

But again..ultimately, pray there's money available o...because women love to shop!

There's something called 'law enforcement' which is usually handled by the govt.

Enforce those necessary laws and people will get used to them after some time - especially when they are beneficial to all.

- Men are not as verbal as women when dealing with issues. We really do not enjoy going back n forth at each other.

- When you react, there will ALWAYS be a reaction..and this applies to both sexes. When you say something hurtful to your spouse, he will: 1. take a verbal swipe back at you' 2. physical swipe or 3. keep quiet and/or walk away. One of the three WILL HAPPEN.

- While tensions are running high and your husband is making his feelings known verbally, the way you react matters a lot. If you start yelling and nagging, you are not helping. Keep quiet and listen..let him know you understadn what he's saying even if you dont agree with him. Talk to him when he calms down - most of us will listen. If your husband feels like he's talking to a brick wall, he may stop talking alltogether.

Men hurt the same way women hurt but we are not as verbal. But we will surely find a way to react - and you may not like it..you're not supposed to anyway

When he's angry...learn to give him some pace to calm down. Dont force him to talk to you. He will calm down...eventually

Verbal insults hurt men ..the same way physical abuse hurts women.

In America, no big deal - you are getting a car in your last year of high school - if I can afford it - especially when you live in a city like Houston as someone mentioned earlier..you need a car to move around. Cars are no luxury here - my first car here was a decent toyota '88 model (pure water) for $420. Again, my opinion AT THIS TIME..meaning it could change.

Your call as a parent. The will always be consequences (good ro bad) so be ready to deal with them

jephiano: @kokoye i think what u put up there isn't 'silent treatment'. Even article states that given time for emotions to come down can be beneficial as it helps the couple to avoid saying things they would regret. Silent Treatment is basically ignoring ur mate as a form of revenge or manipulation for them to see how 'wrong' their actions or views are and how much you are hurt by them.
