Atleast he was the best we can boast of in cm position prior to aribo's debut

I have never been a fan of his but that won't make me deny the fact that he has been decent so far. Aside aribo and azeez he is the best for us in that position.

Players have different and strong attributes that makes them better in certain areas than others so it depends on the coach to utilize these qualities which depends on the style and formation he intends to deploy in a particular game
Right now Ovie progression is becoming a different level. I have always known he is good but right now l dont know who is better Eze or Ovie sincerely.

One thing we should consider Reading is 18th in the table and struggling somewhat. It's much harder to stand out in a struggling team.

Komekn, it is unfair to owe a player his wages and treat him like crap because he didn't measure up to par. I'm sure you would raise hell here if it was Ovie , Tammy or Ojo that was treated that way. Rangers and Gerrard were wrong to treat Sadiq that way and I'm sure they'll regret it sooner than later.

Football is business and part of the business is risk. Sadiq not measuring up was as likely as him scoring 50 goals. It was either one or the other and I'm sure they kept that in mind when they loaned him. If a player you loaned isn't measuring up, you send him back to his parent club. No need for maltreatment.

So, stop supporting evil
. Okay.....we know today but don't know tomorrow. It could be Tammy's turn tomorrow. This is soccer and it is quite unpredictable
You are very funny Lol.

I am replying because you seem genuine but sincerely wrong.

You know we have a PFA here in my experience it's impossible for a club to owe a player wages.

First, thing you did was to assume from a singular perspective your own and or what is purported to be Sadiq Umar story.

When Sadiq first arrived he was found to be unfit that's not very professional. It's obvious you don't know the degree of professionalism in these clubs. It was established very quickly numerous tests will ascertain his fitness even bench testing will show up issues.

He was told to get fit first, he effectively has sold him self short l. Starting work but not ready for work. Eéeeeeee get as he be.

I have seen Ojo and Ovie in training and l know how vigourous that is at Liverpool. You can ask Awoniyi he will tell you as well.

In training he was poor that's why he struggled to get into the team and that was from inception.

I suggest you have a balanced view taking all factors into consideration. Established patterns and see how matters progressed and or didn't progress as the case may be. Ascertain the chain of events progressively and you will come to a substantive deduction. Not an emotive sentiment based one.

Then again l can't blame you as you probably have no idea how things work in professional football clubs.

Can l suggest you stop supporting superficial nonsense.

"Chei stop supporting evil" LOL

I believe that the NPFL Alumni of the year is a quality award because it gives a progress report. I think it is easier to know former NPFL players than the ones we have. Let's give credit to guys who leave the league and make us proud. Chisom Egbuchalam is ballin in Korea, Stephen Odey scored against Liverpool and of all people The Panther Anthony Okpotu is the leading scorer in Tunisia while his team tops the log. It is unfair to leave these guys out. We also have Ahmed Musa, Etebo, Shehu and Ighalo in the picture.

Please don't be offended by my post. I will accept the decision but I just felt I should explain my thinking. Again sorry if this is digressing.
It's not a level playing field where different leagues are concerned.

Nonetheless, and award that highlights African based players should be on the cards. For instance l have never heard of Okpotu. Everything, can not just be Europe based.

On award category 9, Eberechi Ezeh is not eligible. That award is for players that have featured in any of our national Teams (From U17, 20, 23 and SE). Uncapped Foreign borns have their own exclusive award.

Please do the necessary amendments. Thanks
The award is called;

9. Young Player of the Year (U-21): Born not before January 1st 1998

That's the clearly descriptiive term no other deduction can be made from that. It's inclusive and all encompassing for any player of Nigerian origin.

What you are doing is changing the rules of the game in the middle of the game.

What you should do is create a new award:

When last did any Scottish team play in the UEFA Championship league? The Serbia league representative played there last season and is currently in the group stage this season.

Don't forget a Serbian club beat the current UEFA Champions 2 goals to nut last season. Can any Scottish team do that currently?

Partizan has only lost to Manchester United in the group. The other two games ended victorious and in draw. Nothing like generally poor as you portrayed. The same Partizan reached the round of 32 in the Europa League two seasons ago. When last did Rangers crossed the group stage? About 7 or 8 season ago?

The UEFA coefficient rating that placed Partizan ahead of Rangers is an indication of both teams performance in Europe.

If I go by your comment without going into full details, then Sadiq has played 122 games, scored 71 goals and assisted 25 times in the last 6 years. How about that?
Forgiveness, Forgiveness Forgiveness how many times I call your name

Chei you Fall my hand no be small ❓

The UEFA COEFFICIENTS are an aggregate of European games over period it may be 10 years. It's academic at best but fat from conclusive.

Using the UEFA club coefficients FK Partizan is rated 72. Using that same coefficient Maccabi Haifa is 87 and Wolves, Burnley, Everton, Southampton and WestHam are ranked 88 to 92.

Because the assessment is based on European football competition and performance not league. These Epl clubs hardly ever play in Europe so they are ranked much lower than Partizan.

So according to you then Partizan is better than these EPL clubs LOL shocked shocked shocked. do you truly believe thathuh ❓ I DON'T THINK SO.

I gave you a structured framework to make an informed decision but you didn't.

But NO SHAKIN, NUTTIN spoil.

I always say HERE and NOW.

If you look at the UEFA website with regards to club rankings there is a column CURRENT SEASON.

I have attached some screenshots for you to peruse. But you suppose know naa.

Now can you say which club is better as yoi drink one shine shine boy to klear your head.

Wolves has 8 Portuguese players if you add Jimenez and Boly that will make it 10 Portuguese sourced players. Benfica has 12 Portuguese players while FC Porto has 10.

You are free to check the squad list.

Yes, according to UEFA coefficient Partizan Belgrade is 71 while Glasgow Rangers is at 120. Kindly check the teams below Partizan Belgrade. That's an upgrade if you ask me.
I have assumed a certain level of understanding although the discourse is not academic at least you should understand basic analytics.

When you appraise you look at context and within context is the time and period limitations, that’s in the first instance. The second aspect is substance inference, what can be concluded from the substance of the notion, proposition and or substantive claim. Then you have strict subject discipline, but you then add all sorts of deviation.

What’s the central theme, unfair practices and preference for Portuguese players and the running of the club by proxy through Super-agent Mendes at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Within months of the take over of Wolves by Mendes and arrival of the Manager Nuno Wolves in Summer 2017, the club had more Portuguese sourced players than Benfica, Porto and Sporting. This is a traditional English club and within months the core identity had changed from English to Portuguese.

But in your quest to contend you put yourself up for question the mathematics +or- 1 is not the central theme but the notion of unfair practice.

But you are still wrong we are talking 2017/18 not 2019/20 season you jumped before you looked not wisdom. You bypass all the substantive facts to hold on to wind and fresh air. Three players Pedro, Ivan, Helder were all at Wolves at the time that’s pertinent 2018.

Nonetheless it’s not a numbers game. The notion is simple, its completely unfair even unethical practice thus the comparison that there are more Portuguese players in an English Championship club Wolves than the three top clubs of Portugal, even to have the same or comparable numbers is absurd.

Why else would Wolves be the subject of a serious investigation by the English FA for breach of rules huh However, you completely avoid these substantive facts and the deductions to be made with them. To hold on too superficial notions without substance.

What exactly is your purpose huh to learn or to content for contention sake or just to cast prejudiced based unfounded aspersions. Consider what you have written in bold and is that a reasonable deduction. huh

I don't know about what really happened to Sadiq Umar in Rangers but I think he has performed in top 10 leagues in Europe since Eredivise is among the top 10 leagues.

However, if we put Rangers side by side with his current club, past, present and future, his current club is better.
Sadiq is almost 23.

Has played professional football for 6 years plus and 75 games since 2014 that's not good enough. Why so few games if he is so good.

He has played in a number of leagues Eredivisie, Seria A and B, Scottish premier league and now Serbian league.

Prior to playing in the Serbian league has not been outstanding. He just been at best average if not below. Before he went to Rangers the highest number of games he played in a season was 12 games that's very poor to be honest. He has never played more than 17 games in a season in his entire career. And that has been at higher sub10 rated leagues in Europe.

That will change now in Serbia now for him. If he had not been to other leagues before going to Serbia. I would be very optimistic. So he has to get to better league to prove his quality.

Scottish league is a higher rated league not in dispute.

Football is always about the HERE and NOW.

Quite recently Rangers beat Porto among other higher rated clubs. Who has Partizan beat in the UEFA of higher rating ❓

Let's look at value which club has the higher quality of players. We can look at in financial value of players, that's a good start. Just Morelos and Aribo in value and pedigree will exceed the total value of thier players. There are others attracting transfer speculation.

The most expensive player they have is Markovic has a poor reputation on and off the pitch. From his time at Liverpool.

Future look at the players of Rangers a club that Flanagan( former high flying Liverpool & England RB) is struggling to get game time.

I find no comparison between them in the HERE and NOW. If you use Transfer Market the club players in entirety are valued at £40 Million and l don't even trust thier valuation they are not very market responsive.

UEFA Partizan are in Group L the easiest group but have been generally poor. The only team that's quality there is Manchester United.

Rangers are in a far harder group but are second in the group. With Feyenoord ,Porto and Young boys. But are joint group leaders Celtic have 10 points and are top of thier group. An indication of how the Scottish league two top teams are progressing.

Will you agree it's much easier to go from Rangers to bigger clubs than Partizan.huh

That's my take Rangers is ahead

What's Solanke got to with anything. You can't even show restraint or control yourself. Don't derail this thread with nonsense.

The topic is very simple at what stage do we measure a Nigerian " home grown players " first season in Europe. THAT'S THE QUESTION.

Players leave Nigeria sometimes it takes three years or more for thier first competitive first team game.

Can a player who has spent 3/4 years being trained as a youth player be justified with the tag home grown under such circumstances.

This is not about a few games but his entire time in Rangers. And the question, if he was treated fairly or not. Very simple.

Loan players rarely ever walk straight into the first team.

As I have said upteen times before. You don't have a right to play.

You earn the right to play by what you do in training and in games you are selected to play. You must perform if you don't then you don't play
.

People here are being very bigoted and hypocritical shameless with double standard.

How many players get invited to the SE and dont cut it in training and dont play. How many players have one game and didn't do anything and they are never called back to the SE again.

In club football this is a very common phenomenon. Players go on loan and are sent back without paying one game.

What's the big deal.

The big deal he is Sadiq Umar and we want to move the goal posts to accommodate him.

Tomori was very average two seasons ago in the Championship now he is playing for Chelsea and England. Players improve or even go backwards this is football.

Mendez doesn't own Wolves. The club is owned by a Chinese group.

Personally I don't believe this conspiracy theory about Dominic being frozen out of the wolves team because of Jorge mendez involvement with the team. We would like to know the other players that were frozen out of the team as well.

Mind you I checked the team's squad list for the past 3 seasons and there's only one Portuguese defender named Ruben Vinagre . And none of the defenders in wolves is represeted by Jorge Mendez. So why exactly is he being frozen out of the teamhuh?

See who is calling someone a liar...Wizard of lies
Maybe I'm speaking above your comprehension, go and check the meaning of the word proxy in the context of company control and management.

Then after that check the meaning and substance of if the phrase , " Portuguese sourced players ".

For example Raul Jimenez is Mexican but spent three seasons at Benfica before coming to Wolves for about £35 million. Or for example French defender, Willy Boly who had spent the past four seasons in Portugal with Braga first and then Porto.

You checked Wikipedia Wow !!!

I really don't care what you want to believe that's your business. But educate yourself be more substantive and Increase your understanding.

I am putting a few screen shots from highly reputable media outlets. Financial times and the Guardian.

The matters became delayed in intended convoluted financial arrangements that would require protracted legal contention. We all know, sorry some of us do, what's going on but proving in a legal setting is very problematic.

All the other stuff about players excluded is there if you look. I did that substantive post donkeys ago.

I'm not surprised at your response. As usual you know everyone in British football setup. Sadie's story is false and you choose to believe that of your British pals because theirs is authentic.

How come no one from the club come out to deny or challange Sadiq's version of the story. His story was on Scottish Sun not vanguard or Punch. Coming here to tell me about a good post being balanced when yours is one sided and reeks of bias(choosing to believe your friends over the young man involved). So much for being a Warri boy and an avid supporter of the super Eagles.

The boy was a young man trying to find his feets in a new environment and instead of encouraging him, he was frozen out of the team and treated like a criminal.

We dived and was yellow carded instead of scoringhuh? That's his offencehuh Is he the first to do that?? Footballers have done worse.

You judged his career with jus two gameshuh

Now you're coming here to tell us how he dropped to a very very very low league in order to perform. But you forget he has played in a higher league (Dutch league and Italian league) and he didn't disappoint.

Just so you know the Scottish league is rated number 16 and the Serbian league is at 19. According to UEFA coefficient Rangers is rated 120 while Partizan Belgrade is rated 71. So how is this dropping to a very very very low level.
By the way i know a few people in football not everybody.

You have decided to be purposefully misleading and be far from balanced indeed completely biased. The commentary and facts concerning Sadiq are vast, in many cases he was ridiculed by the Rangers fans as well. But you didn’t look for facts but are using conjecture to justify the unjustifiable. You could not play the racism card because Ovie and quite a few black players were in the team.

Consider the bolded, so because someone is from my country, my tribe, my village i must believe his story without question, that’s the anchor on which our national problems rest, nepotism and double standard.

I chose to believe the facts and the pattern of events associated with those facts, not just the one-sided rantings of a disgruntled player that were made over 6 months ago. As with regards to there being no reply from the club, it’s very simple clubs will not give credence to nonsense by replying, he is essentially inconsequential to them.

But who is Sadiq Umar, 22 years old and has never played more than 18 games in a season of football over the past 6 years, his career has been stop start and stop start nothing outstanding? His career has been far from impressive. Until now at this lowly rate league and club that can’t even be competitive in the UEFA league, he is now outstanding. However, he has to prove that he can cut in a top 10 European league because for the past 6 years he has proven that he cannot, again easily substantiated.

I gave you two examples of failings and commentary about him as indicators to the much wider problem, he is not good enough for Rangers. Well before Sadiq had arrives in Scotland, I said and still say he will struggle in a physically intense league such as the England league 1, I said that donkeys ago. I actually thought there was something wrong with his feet because he was always falling over. I remember Tbaba1234 made the same observation.

Football is about opportunity and what you do with it, OPPORTUNITY is key and taking advantage of your opportunity is absolutely vital. Sadiq got his first start for Rangers a great opportunity to make a claim but he completely made a hash off it and totally disgraced himself by his dishounourable conduct diving in front of an open goal. Add to the fact that he was also poor in training his time was simply up.

When you come on loan to a club, " You are not guaranteed playing time, you absolutely have to earn it "

With regards to the club rankings it does not reflect the HERE and NOW in European football as it’s an aggregate of historical results not present results in the UEFA & Champions league. That’s why Arsenal is rated 9 and Liverpool 8, Arsenal that has done nothing in the past 10 years plus. Once again, your clutching at straws to present subjectivity as substantiated fact.

Google is your friend it doesn’t take much to get press reports and substantiate to have objectivity. But you went emotive and so did the vast majority of people here. The vast majority being sentiment and emotive led as well as, followed a statement that was self-birthed , self-justified, self-deduced with zero corroboration.

What’s disappointing is that some of you here are graduates, Masters and even PhD Holders. Where is your balance score card assessment? Where is your weighting of probabilities and or the judgement of the reasonable man? I find what we do here in attitude reflects in a micro context what happens in the nation at large. No wonder the nation is in such a mess.

NPFL export of the year. Basically a player of the year for players that featured in the NPFL before going abroad. For example Ahmed Musa, Oghenekaro Etebo and Shehu Abdullahi could be nominated for this award because they all played in the NPFL.

Then the Nigerian export of the year for the player who has had the best first season out of the country. Could be coming from an academy or the league, either way it must be the player's first season out of Nigeria.
This could be problematic, quite a few pplayers leave Nigeria as teenagers to European clubs and by virtue of tht they become classed in Europe as home grown if they came as under 16 players. In this regard KC can be classed as Man city home grown player.

Raheem and Seyi Ojo came to Liverpool from QPR and MK Dons at age 14 for millions of ££ but are not classed as QPR or MK Dons products but Liverpool fc academy products.

Something to think about.

I am also proposing National Team of the year and Nation Team coach of the year.
That seems quite a good idea as particularly for local coaches who get little or no recognition unless on national assignment.

And I won't believe that other side from you....
I'll prefer the one from Gerard or his assistants
There are multiple reports match reports etc that are factual. Do some substantive digging it's not hard.

I haven't given you any story from Beale or Gerard. What l have said is l know the both of them particularly Beale more and that's not the way they behave.

U mean the same foolishness that has harboured u all along, especially when u foolishly believed Iorfa's story while u called bluff and lies Umar's? grin
It's quite clear you have read my posts above and the just two media factual and informative reports about Sadiq performances.

Dominic Iorfa had played 3 consecutive seasons for Wolves and was a first team regular with near 100 games under his belt. Winning multiple accolades and invited to the senior England team set up. Make the comparison with Sadiq now Dr delusionalhuh

Wolves was bought by Super agent Mendes and his own manager Nunos in control. Wolves had more Portuguese sourced players than Benfica and Porto.

Wolves became the subject of an English FA investigation for breach of rules.

The actions at Wolves were not individual but collective with a number of players frozen out for reasons unknown.

These events were not a story associated with one individual Dominic or birthed in thier entirety by him as is with Sadiq. But the collective actions of the club in ownership by proxy by Mendes. Against a number of players at the club as soon as Nuno arrived.

There is no iota of comparison with circumstances of Dominic Iorfa and Sadiq Umar.

Why do you like to make noise, l am indulging you today. If you keep presenting Balderdash, l will consider you as non existent.

The last disgrace I gave you when you were exposed as a blatant liar should have been enough. But you are shameless.

Komekn need to be balanced
I don talk this matter long time ago.

Michael Beale l know well and Gerard l know. I can add our Ovie was there balling and running tings.

This story by Sadiq is opinionated and entirety self birthed.

I am very balanced l know what l know but to add credence I'll screenshot some media reports.

The guy no hold him side at all. Can you imagine dem substitute Sadiq for small boy because you no fit score for reserve U23 game, small naija boy enter Dapo Mebude second half then score hat trick. How does that make him look.

And he is complaining that he was treated badly.

On Sadiq Umar's time at Rangers FC and his relationship with Steven Gerrard.

Speaking to The Sunday Post, he said: “All of a sudden, I was told that I could not use the first-team dressing-room any more. Instead I had to go change with the kids. Then, after a few days, I was also forbidden to park my car inside the training centre.

“I felt humiliated and kept asking what was the reason for the change of attitude. But I never received any answers. Gerrard wouldn’t give any explanation about it, neither to me nor my representatives.

“I believe absolutely that I was not given a fair chance to show what I can do. They made me feel like a stranger. I started only once (in the League Cup semi-final against Aberdeen) and that was when there were no other strikers available.

“As I say, for me everything went wrong after they brought in another striker (Lafferty). Once I put a ‘like’ on Instagram to a post from a fan – and I was fined £20,000, which was absurd.

“And Rangers didn’t even pay me up everything I was due. They still have to give me my salary for December.”

If we talk about a certain player at wolves, someone will tell us he was frozen out of the team because of Jorge Mendez involvement with the club but he's always too quick to pass a judgment on Sadiq Umar.

Sadiq was froze out of the team too without any explanation, not like he played 25 games without scoring.

If you can make excuses for someone because he didn't get to play then think twice before you pass such judgement on Sadiq.
Clutching at straws and a version of events that comes entirely from the player.

A good post is a balanced one that takes into cognisance all the perspectives not just a singular one.

I personally know Michael Beale assistant manager and Gerard and l can assure you that version is VERY FAR from the truth.

There are multiple reports in the media from a duplicity of sources that detail his failings as a player at Rangers. The fans view of him included.

But you chose one by Sadiq himself, what did you expect him to say. That he was treated fairly and he failed. That's a very opinionated portrayal by the player.

I have spoken in depth about this a long time ago.

One very damning example of his failings is when he played against Motherwell U23 for Rangers U23. Played the first half and was ineffective got substituted in the second half. He was replaced by 17 year old Dapo Mebude, who came on and promptly scored a hat trick. Leaving more questions asked of Sadiq.

But the worst was when they played Aberdeen in the Cup his first start for the club, he was one on one with the goalkeeper and instead of shooting he dived. He was booked. It was shameful.

At this stage he had lost the fans and lost all respect. He became a comedic character for which all manners of jokes emanated from.

It's not a right that you must play. You earn the right to play by what you do in training and in the pitch when you play.

Sadly Sadiq did neither.

There is no comparison between Sadiq and Iorfa on any level whatsoever.
