IamR: If not that Coca Cola is a big and strong brand, Bigi would have sent them out of Nigeria market. What is this hype about bigi sef...fine, dem dey thrive for Ogun state, Lagos, Osun and environs...but they are not nationwide....largest share of sales of beverages is in Lagos (no doubt)...so they're giving coca cola Pepsi a run for their money |

Partial closure of border doesn't make any economical sense to me walai.... I would've love if FG can remove PMS subsidy and subsidize cement...to bring about affordable housing and reduce 23 million housing deficit...but the story go be the same as PMS... |

KENFERDYOORI: The whole thing isn't feasible especially when the country isn't self_sufficient. You can see it evident in price hike. Thank you jàre...we are not secured in anything... Nigeria is food insecured...are we sufficient in Rice, sugar, fish, wheat, milk, beef, poultry, fruits&vegetables (tomatoes) e.t.c First, let us produce all these food items, in sufficient quantities, well preserved/stored..then watch FX drop like trajectory... But this cannot be achieved without power and some key infrastructure : road, railways, ferries |

There's no border in the world that is free from smugglers and illegal migrants...rather than spend huge financial resources in training custom officers, paying huge wages...why can't FGN remove subsidy on petrol , to discourage transborder PMS sale...since the price will arguably be uniform....and subsidize Education.. From Primary to Tertiary level and it must be in tandem with international standard and watch the nation experience astronomically growth... |

drlateef: If all the subsidy money that is used to import the 8 million litres that goes to neighbouring countries is used to get more customs personnel that will patrol the borders effectively, there will be more jobs for people and our borders will be more secure against crimes and smuggling of other items. Alternatively, they could use the money to build border walls to protect us. Why go that route ...why not remove petrol subsidy in total and let the FGN subsidize, from Primary to Tertiary level including vocational institutions for its citizens and you'll witness significant drop in poverty, hunger, communicable-preventable diseases, maternal mortality and many more... |

However, years ago when the late Ojo Maduekwe tried to popularize a bicycle-riding culture in Abuja (he was then Transportation Minister under President Obasanjo), he was relentlessly mocked by large sections of the Nigerian media, and he was almost knocked down riding a bicycle to work as a Minister, the derision grew even louder. > Yeah.. Jayslicky:

I see no reason why they should be crying for the cameras, everyone trying to attract attention to themselves, how can the eviction of a fellow contender give them this much heartbreak, the chances of one of them winning just increased.
They need to stop shedding crocodile tears, the truth is deep down everyone of them is thinking about the 60million.
Never I have seen a team in football feel bad when the opponent is issued a red card. It's a game and it's all about competition. The most honest response I've ever came across on nairaland since independence 1960, mind you, these are the same set of people that biggie do request their opinion about housemates to be nominated for eviction ó, humanbeing!!! |
