AnambraPeople:A copper casket that will gradually oxidize. However, the young man is NOT a "billionaire" in the real sense. The real net worth of any GENUINE billionaire worldwide is majorly valued in USD (which is the global reserve currency). ONLY 6 folks of Nigerian descent are on the Bloomberg Billionaire Index and the Forbes list of legit USD billionaires as of 2024. Two of them are Nigerian-Americans [Tope Awotona the founder of Calendly and Adebayo Ogunlesi who were both born in Nigeria]. The others of Nigerian descent who are legit USD billionaires are Aliko Dangote, Mike Adenuga, Abdulsamad Isyaku-Rabiu and Femi Otedola. If the dude who bought that copper casket for his transited father-in-law's funeral is a legit entrepreneur in Nigeria, then he is a USD millionaire OR multimillionaire and NOT a billionaire based off of the Forbes list OR the Bloomberg Billionaire Index.

OboOlora:@OboOlora, As an OG, I have a contrarian view to your summations in the FIRST paragraph. Let me school you a bit. Since you're NOT a "hairy" man, you don't fully understand the "biological dynamics" embedded in men here. (It's the same way most men don't fully appreciate the cyclical menstrual cramps and pains women go through). It's NOT about men having "low self-esteem" like you incorrectly stated, BUT when a man DOESN'T have that sustainable income to pay off his monthly liabilities OR a sustainable day job or career he can be satisfied with, his natural desires for anything women and anything sex literally DROPS hard like a rock under the force of gravity because of increased stress hormone levels! This happens whether a man is in a stable long-term relationship or NOT. This is what triggers "irritability and anger" in a significant number of men who haven't fully gained mastery of their emotions. Men have been naturally wired through centuries of biological and social evolution to be attracted to more than one woman once they are financially and emotionally comfortable based of off what they see because men are visual creatures with higher testosterone and oxytocin levels. Like you rightly stated in your second paragraph, women instinctively get attracted to men (who I call high-status men or lovers and providers) whether for transactional reasons or NOT. "Do you feel me? Got it? Good." The sarcasm in your last paragraph about the classless "OBO begging for OBO" got me cracking up. You're a badass ex-FGGC Ogb***so gurl. *Smirk* |

Shellye Archambeau shares her story of pivoting MetricStream, a failing company, into a market leader, emphasizing the importance of falling in love with the market rather than the product. Black America's Newest Billionaire: Tope Awotona and his Calendar software https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WDOe-KS5LkI?si=9RqdqcVD0ytPNw7P Black Excellence Excellist • Sep 2 2022 Tope Awotona's father (a former Unilever staff before he set up his own business) got shot in his Tope's presence and passed on in Lagos. Soon after that, Tope's mother and her biological kids moved over to Atlanta, Georgia in 1996 when Tope was just 15 years. His mother unfortunately passed on in Atlanta as well but Tope was a very brilliant boy and he finished high school at the age of 15! He then gained admission to college and graduated. |
That's impressive. The SECRET of the Atlanta, Georgia-based 43-year-old Nigerian-American tech entrepreneur, 'Tope Awotana, essentially has to do with the FACT that he Identified a profitable niche in the tech-related space while solving a problem or finding solutions with helping a lot of folks manage their daily schedules. During COVID-19 lockdowns, there was even a spike in the use of Calendly for managing schedules due to folks working from their homes/home offices. For Tope, the Forbes-listed USD billionaire, and one of ONLY 6 folks of Nigerian descent who as of 2024 are currently on the Forbes list of legit USD billionaires, he FAILED in three distinct businesses while still doing his day job as a tech salesman BEFORE he hit it off BIG time with Calendly which was initially offered for free and it then went viral. My final takes: Look for problems and provide solutions in those identified mass markets or niche markets. Disruptive innovation is the key in any market space. |

PeterObi4Presid:In the event that there is NO obvious leakage in the gas cylinders and you have a good calibrated digital weighting device NOT the manual type weighting scale, then that boy has to be fired immediately and handed to the police or have him drilled privately to cough out the missing balance. This is why utmost due diligence is key in these kinds of situations. Even some family members who have NO passion and aren't trustworthy aren't reliable as employees in one's business establishments. The BEST bet should have been to do a thorough SWOT analysis of the entire gas business chain by asking questions from existing gas business owners on how to avoid what I call cases of "industrial espionage" or internal sabotage which occurs in a lot of businesses yearly including the commercial banks! If you can install digital devices that measure how much is gas is dispensed off and how much is received into your bank accounts via the POS terminals that'll be fine. Second, a portable CCTV camera that enables you to MONITOR in REAL TIME the goings on in your wholesale or retail gas facility can be installed directly in the gas dispensing area to limit any insidious actions from your employee(s). Third, a STRONG warning must be given to the NEXT employee you're gonna have on his or her job descriptions and to avoid getting involved in internal sabotage because there will be dire consequences. |
crossbreedwears:Indeed, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu was a senior Banker and rose to the rank of a bank treasurer which is a very respectable position before becoming the first Chairman of the efficient Lagos State Security Trust Fund and more. He is also well read from several ivy league institutions. All the past Governors of Lagos State have been well-read folks and it highly irresponsible for anyone to call them Tinubu's stooges and other CRIMINALLY defamatory names as seen on that other thread on the NL frontpage. NO effort was made to even ban or penalize those posters (for breaking Nairaland rules) who were using toxic hate speech targeted towards all the past and present Lagos State Governors including the President Tinubu who they lied was responsible for the alleged EFCC targeting of the Lagos State Governor. |
