BusinessRe: Nigerian Businesswoman Claims She Made N1bn In 2022 Selling Kuli Kuli by Konquest:
Prestar:
Nigerian businesswoman claims she made N1bn in 2022 selling Kuli Kuli, targets N2bn in 2023

A Nigerian businesswoman, Angela Job Emodiae has claimed she made sales of about N1 billion in 2022 selling local spiced groundnut cake called Kuli Kuli.

Emodiae who is based in Jos, Plateau state with the business name: Anjees Food, also said she is targeting more than N2 billion in 2023

The revelation which has got internet users talking was made known through her Facebook page on Saturday, January 7, 2023.

She said her main clients are Nigerians who live abroad who order the product online and she sends it to them via freight services.

Emodiae said she has not begun exporting the product yet but just makes sales on social media, especially Facebook.

According to receipts and WhatsApp chats posted on her page, Emodiae showed how customers paid her for her services.

In one of the chats, she said her biggest clients are Nigerians living abroad. In one instance, the self-styled owner of Anjees Foods showed about N1 million credited to her account which she claims came from a satisfied customer.

She said she supplies the products to wealthy clients who buy in dozens, adding that she has a lot of staff who make her work easy and helps her distribute the product to clients.

The Jos Plateau Stae resident said she also sells Peanut burgers alongside her Kuli Kuli business.

But Internet users have faulted Emodiae’s claims saying that such claims are spurious and unrealistic in today’s Nigeria and economy.

Adichie Chuks said; “If Nigerians can believe that Tinubu APC can deliver them from Buhari APC, there’s NOTHING they cannot believe. “Even if she tells Nigerians that she made N1 trillion naira in sales in 1 month, there are millions of Nigerians that will defend her with their blood.” They called her claims a publicity stunt and attention-seeking.”

Hamidu Yakubu wrote; “When I recaptured my conscience I quickly notice that Nigeria’s problems is not only on leadership …. If Nigerians can change leaders one hundred times nothing can change unless we (followers) change our attitudes therefore Nigeria’s problems are not only on leaders but followers.”

However, on his part, Jenije Oghenegweke Ib said; “God can make you rich with anything he just say be and it will.”

BusinessRe: Nigerian Foods You Can Export To The US, UK & Canada by Konquest: 10:55am On Nov 02, 2024
DyshApp:
The "japa" movement has inspired many Nigerians to seek opportunities abroad, especially in the US, UK, and Canada. While adjusting to life overseas, they often miss the tastes of home, creating demand for authentic Nigerian foods. Nigerian cuisine, loved for its rich flavors, appeals to both Nigerians abroad and food enthusiasts. As demand grows for Nigerian ingredients, here are foods worth exporting:

Yam Flour
Yam flour, created by drying and grinding yams, is essential in Nigerian cuisine, particularly for preparing Amala, a cherished staple often paired with traditional Nigerian soups. It's light, has a long shelf life, and is naturally gluten-free, making it appealing to health- conscious consumers globally.

For export, ensure your yam flour is packaged and processed according to international standards. Highlight its gluten-free quality to attract both African and international customers.

Palm Oil
Palm oil plays a crucial role in many West African dishes, delivering a distinct, authentic flavour that's difficult to substitute. Beyond cooking, it's also commonly found in cosmetics and wellness products. Nigerian palm oil, when sustainably and ethically sourced, holds strong appeal in Western markets.

Ensure that your palm oil is certified as sustainably sourced, as environmental considerations are increasingly important to Western consumers. Additionally, make sure it meets FDA and EU regulatory standards for successful export.

You can add yours
Cashew nuts, sesame seeds and sesame seed oil, bitter kola and much more.

A copper casket that will gradually oxidize.

However, the young man is NOT a "billionaire" in the real sense. The real net worth of any GENUINE billionaire worldwide is majorly valued in USD (which is the global reserve currency). ONLY 6 folks of Nigerian descent are on the Bloomberg Billionaire Index and the Forbes list of legit USD billionaires as of 2024. Two of them are Nigerian-Americans [Tope Awotona the founder of Calendly and Adebayo Ogunlesi who were both born in Nigeria]. The others of Nigerian descent who are legit USD billionaires are Aliko Dangote, Mike Adenuga, Abdulsamad Isyaku-Rabiu and Femi Otedola.

If the dude who bought that copper casket for his transited father-in-law's funeral is a legit entrepreneur in Nigeria, then he is a USD millionaire OR multimillionaire and NOT a billionaire based off of the Forbes list OR the Bloomberg Billionaire Index.

RomanceRe: Panic As Coconut Tree Catches Fire After Lightning Strikes (Photo) by Konquest: 9:53pm On Nov 01, 2024
Gistmedia10:
In a shocking incident that left residents in awe, a coconut tree was seen engulfed in flames shortly after being struck by lightning. Footage from the scene shows the tree ablaze, with flames licking up its trunk and branches, creating a dramatic sight that had never been witnessed by the locals before.

Amidst the chaos, residents could be heard screaming in disbelief, "Coconut don catch fire ooh!" shocked The unusual event sparked curiosity and fear, prompting many to gather around to witness the extraordinary occurrence.

One netizen commented, explaining the science behind such phenomena: "According to research, lightning can strike a tree and cause it to catch fire. This is known as a lightning-induced fire or lightning-ignited wildfire.

When lightning strikes a tree:

Electrical Discharge: The lightning bolt creates an electrical discharge that can heat the tree's moisture to extreme temperatures.
Ignition: The heat generated by the discharge can ignite the tree's sap, resin, or other flammable materials.
Fire Spread: The fire can spread quickly through the tree's branches and roots, fueled by oxygen and combustible materials."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPbXEioEAng
This is the primary reason why folks are adviced NOT to take shelter under tree during heavy rain storms because trees get hit by lightning ⚡ and are lightning conductors.

A word is enough for the wise.
RomanceRe: Why Do Guys Like 'Carrying' Women Once They Become Rich(photo) by Konquest:
OboOlora:
The answer is simple, most men have low self-esteem and can't approach women except their financial status is worth boasting about.

Most women on the other hand too won't give you any audience except they smell financial gain oozing as you approach them. It's a transactional world we all live in, give and take.....ole gbe ole gba

So as soon as men hammer, they remember that high class girl in their neighbourhood they wanted to fvck awhile back but couldn't but now that money has come, let me go n approach her.

But some still have money without class sha, e.g, Davido that was kneeling down to beg for pooC. Or maybe oruko lo n ro OBO n bebe fun OBO cheesy
@OboOlora,

As an OG, I have a contrarian view to your summations in the FIRST paragraph. Let me school you a bit.

Since you're NOT a "hairy" man, you don't fully understand the "biological dynamics" embedded in men here. (It's the same way most men don't fully appreciate the cyclical menstrual cramps and pains women go through). It's NOT about men having "low self-esteem" like you incorrectly stated, BUT when a man DOESN'T have that sustainable income to pay off his monthly liabilities OR a sustainable day job or career he can be satisfied with, his natural desires for anything women and anything sex literally DROPS hard like a rock under the force of gravity because of increased stress hormone levels! This happens whether a man is in a stable long-term relationship or NOT. This is what triggers "irritability and anger" in a significant number of men who haven't fully gained mastery of their emotions.

Men have been naturally wired through centuries of biological and social evolution to be attracted to more than one woman once they are financially and emotionally comfortable based of off what they see because men are visual creatures with higher testosterone and oxytocin levels. Like you rightly stated in your second paragraph, women instinctively get attracted to men (who I call high-status men or lovers and providers) whether for transactional reasons or NOT. "Do you feel me? Got it? Good."

The sarcasm in your last paragraph about the classless "OBO begging for OBO" got me cracking up. You're a badass ex-FGGC Ogb***so gurl. *Smirk*

Soon after that, Tope's mother and her biological kids moved over to Atlanta, Georgia in 1996 when Tope was just 15 years. His mother unfortunately passed on in Atlanta as well but Tope was a very brilliant boy and he finished high school at the age of 15! He then gained admission to college and graduated.

That's impressive.

The SECRET of the Atlanta, Georgia-based 43-year-old Nigerian-American tech entrepreneur, 'Tope Awotana, essentially has to do with the FACT that he Identified a profitable niche in the tech-related space while solving a problem or finding solutions with helping a lot of folks manage their daily schedules. During COVID-19 lockdowns, there was even a spike in the use of Calendly for managing schedules due to folks working from their homes/home offices.

For Tope, the Forbes-listed USD billionaire, and one of ONLY 6 folks of Nigerian descent who as of 2024 are currently on the Forbes list of legit USD billionaires, he FAILED in three distinct businesses while still doing his day job as a tech salesman BEFORE he hit it off BIG time with Calendly which was initially offered for free and it then went viral.

My final takes:
Look for problems and provide solutions in those identified mass markets or niche markets.

PeterObi4Presid:
Business is really hard in Nigeria if you are not there 247,
We are too wicked, greedy and dishonest.

Less than a week, I employed this boy o, to manage my gas filling retail business and POS.
He displayed passion, initiative and experience about the gas filling business and handling of POS....so I just took the chance, we also speak same language. I've been acting nice and all but I think I now know why most Nigerian bosses are mean to their workers by default
.
Now from first cylinder we couldn't account for 10kg

Second cylinder was started today by him......when I told him to calculate everything sold from first cylinder based on daily record book ....it felt short of 10kg
.
From the sales from second cylinder that started today, The account book does not tally with what is remitted through ATM/POS mode of payment .....I dint know this until I checked my Moniepoint acct as I got home now cos my phone was dead before I went to the shop this evening

.
Even the POS part of the business does not tally with the cash I gave him this morning for people who need cash withdrawal
.
I'm boiling right now realizing the boy had lied to me when balancing the account this night using the record book, only to get home and power my phone to see cash fell short of 23k in my monie point acct linked to the POS
.
.
How do you handle boys who think they are smarter than you because theyve been in the business before?
.
And what are your experiences with dishonest workers in your business , especially this gas retail business or POS business
.
Modoified: how do I handle this case now....cos my mind is just boiling ....how can a new business fall short of 38k in less than 7 days...

.
In the event that there is NO obvious leakage in the gas cylinders and you have a good calibrated digital weighting device NOT the manual type weighting scale, then that boy has to be fired immediately and handed to the police or have him drilled privately to cough out the missing balance.

This is why utmost due diligence is key in these kinds of situations. Even some family members who have NO passion and aren't trustworthy aren't reliable as employees in one's business establishments. The BEST bet should have been to do a thorough SWOT analysis of the entire gas business chain by asking questions from existing gas business owners on how to avoid what I call cases of "industrial espionage" or internal sabotage which occurs in a lot of businesses yearly including the commercial banks!

If you can install digital devices that measure how much is gas is dispensed off and how much is received into your bank accounts via the POS terminals that'll be fine.

Second, a portable CCTV camera that enables you to MONITOR in REAL TIME the goings on in your wholesale or retail gas facility can be installed directly in the gas dispensing area to limit any insidious actions from your employee(s).

Third, a STRONG warning must be given to the NEXT employee you're gonna have on his or her job descriptions and to avoid getting involved in internal sabotage because there will be dire consequences.

crossbreedwears:
Sanwo-olu has been in government sector for more than 10 years before he became a governor. Mention one governor performing better than Sanwo-olu?
Indeed, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu was a senior Banker and rose to the rank of a bank treasurer which is a very respectable position before becoming the first Chairman of the efficient Lagos State Security Trust Fund and more. He is also well read from several ivy league institutions.

All the past Governors of Lagos State have been well-read folks and it highly irresponsible for anyone to call them Tinubu's stooges and other CRIMINALLY defamatory names as seen on that other thread on the NL frontpage. NO effort was made to even ban or penalize those posters (for breaking Nairaland rules) who were using toxic hate speech targeted towards all the past and present Lagos State Governors including the President Tinubu who they lied was responsible for the alleged EFCC targeting of the Lagos State Governor.
