Big lie about the dark Knight part

First of dark knight don't race in Lagos, they operate in abuja and the only time they race in Lagos is if the event is organized e.g revs and runways or eleko motor race

Secondly they are into drifting and show offs, they own drift league

Thirdly they don't operate in the midnight and even if lots of people will be around and not in Lagos, Lagos road are too narrow

Lately driving under the influence of alcohol isn't allowed, drinking of energy drink yes is allowed or smoking.

Brother...I'm impressed by all of this info here! So, so much....and I love this!
I was only teasing you about my name! I basically spelled out my name except for 2 letters!
It's so funny to me that after enduring so much with the pronunciation of my name growing up...(in a city where only "1" Nigerian/Malawan family existed) and people always calling my name "weird" or "funny sounding", that now I as I've joined this site, I see my name sooo much! It's such a common name...wow! I'm so amazed!
I love that!

Thank u for the compliment...I like it too!
I used to know the older NBA players (many who are retired now),, such as Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Isaiah Thomas, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, John Salley, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar etc...
However there were 2 fully African men named Hakeem Olajuwon (Nigeria) and Manute Bol (Sudanhuh).....
I'm really not that familiar with the new crop of NBA players...but that's nice info about the player you mentioned.
See my problem was that I didn't grow up in the cities with large concentrations of Nigerian people... cry

You are free to "PM" me ...and I will answer your questions (what my degrees are in, what state my dad is from, and any other questions you may have etc.) and I can ask you some as well smiley

Love the Jackson 5 song...which is an American classic
Gotta check out Andy Williams though....and see what the song is.....may know it..may not.

Boys II Men-Silent Night

Merry Christmas to you and yours too brother...
Lol...well no turkey for Christmas. My dad grilled Pork ribs, Chicken Wings, Sausage, and his favorite GOAT!!
I will bake a Ham... (the traditional Christmas meat) and the rest of the dishes.
Guess what?
I don't even eat meat anymore...so he threw in some roasted corn..lol...

Brilliant... brilliant post!

You must have been big on pro-basketball
in the past. Andre Iguodala [Nigerian father
and African-American mother], the Aminu
brothers[Alade Aminu and Al-Farouq Aminu
whose mother, Anjirlic is an African-American, and
paternal grandfather was a Yoruba King in Western
Nigeria], and
Ike Diogu are 4 of the Nigerian-Americans
who are the relatively new kids on the block in the
NBA.

Andre Iguodala however chose to
represent the U.S. in the 2012 Summer Olympic games in London
where he won a gold medal. The Aminu brothers: Alade, Al-Farouq,
and Ike Diogu chose to represent Nigeria in
the 2012 Olympics as well and it was a case
of Nigerian-Americans playing on both
sides of Team U.S.A versus Nigeria
in a record-breaking Olympic game of the
most cumulative scores ever [156 - 73]
in a single
olympic game!

I love the fact that you emphasized
on NOT eating meat anymore. Too
much meat leads to excess body
acidity which upsets the alkaline/acid
normal body PH balance. This leads to the
over 100 types of body cancers.

I'm big on 1960s, 70s, and 80s songs
because I grew up listening to iconic vinyl
songs in the 1970s and they remain
evergreen. This is the reason I posted
the 2 classic songs from The Jackson 5 and
Andy Williams for the Holiday season
here and I'm glad you enjoyed it. smiley

I love the Boys II Men's acapella version
of "Silent Night" that you posted on this
thread too. Hopefully other "foodies" will
enjoy listening to them because good music goes
with good food! wink

I'll do the "PM" soon.

Enjoy...

9jakool:
An important thing to note is that Ekiti dialect is not an Eastern dialect, it's a Central dialect, but it still has many similarities with Eastern dialects. Despite the contact with Bini, it is almost impossible to find Bini words in Ekiti. By the way contact with Bini was lesser especially in Northern and Western Ekiti.

Eastern dialects have very little/insignificant Benin influence in terms of language. Dialects like Ijebu and Remo despite being Eastern weren't directly in the Benin's line of influence. Ijebu were known to practice strict isolationism and any outsider was not allowed in their kingdom. They were pretty much an independent kingdom free of Oyo or Bini for much of their existence.

Also, Eastern dialects like Ilaje and Ondo that were directly in Benin's line of contact were not significantly influenced by Edo language. I think if you want to see the Edo-Yoruba relationship, then you can visit Ogho-Osse area in Ondo state. Ogho craftsmen were utilized in Bini's courtyards, because they were known for their ivory and wood carving skills. Even the Ogho dialect that shares a direct border with Edo was not really that influenced by Edo language. Why? I've heard the Ogho dialect was the dialect of Yoruba spoken in Bini's royal courts centuries ago. Also, Bini took on more Yoruba influence in terms of language than vice versa. I think this is because the Bini didn't really force their language on their neighbors.

Itsekiri and Ilaje Yoruba understand each other and can hold a conversation with each other despite Itsekiri being classified as Yoruboid and Ilaje being a dialect of Yoruba.

The main difference between Itsekiri and Eastern Yoruba dialects is mainly the higher presence of Bini/Urhobo and Portuguese loan words in Itsekiri as compared to Eastern Yoruba dialects.

Names like Ojo can be found in Yoruba as well. I was surprised to find that the tradition for abiku exists in Igala where it's known as abikwu. Abiku rituals are performed on children that are born to die. Abiku contains two verbs: "bi" to be born/to give birth and "ku" or "kwu" to die.

Thank you for this info
that I 'm just seeing on this thread.
I read in one if the archival materials
that Ado-Ekiti is derived from Edo
and that Ado is the Yorubanised
version of Edo. Read that Ado served
as a Bini Empire military camp
and the Bini used to come to Ikere
and other parts of Ekiti and Ondo
States on elephant hunting
expeditions.

Do you agree with these "facts"
above?

Food › Re: How To Make Beef Shawarma At Home (nigerian Style) by Konquest: 4:02am On Dec 25, 2017
MissyDee:
Shawarma has got to be the most popular street snack almost everyone enjoys. It’s also pretty easy to make at home. The only hitch you might encounter is finding a good place close to your vicinity where the pita bread (Shawarma bread) could be bought. There are various types of shawarma such as Beef shawarma, Chicken shawarma, Fish shawarma, e.t.c and each shawarma has its own unique taste. Now I’m going to make it really simple. For the Hot press (To seal and Heat up the wrapped shawarma), you could make do with a sandwich Toaster if you’ve got one or simply a frying pan….They both serve the same function only that one heats both ways (Most times leaving Sandwich lines) and the other heats one way leaving no line at all. It’s pretty straight forward wink

•Prep time: Less than 20 minutes
•Cook time: Less than 30 minutes
•Yield: 10 Shawarma Wraps

Ingredients:::
• 4 medium sized Carrots
• 1 small Cabbage
• 2 medium Sized Green bell pepper
• 1 medium sized cucumber
• 2 tbsp. chili powder
• Mayonnaise
• Ketchup
• 10 pieces Pita Bread(Shawarma bread)
• 14 chunks beef (You could also use Chicken or fish)
• 2 Scotch bonnets (Yellow/Red pepper)
• 1 small onion
• 2 seasoning cubes
• ¼ bulb Ginger
• 4 cloves Garlic
• 1 tsp. Salt
• 1 tsp. Curry
• ½ tsp. thyme
• 3 tbsp. Vegetable oil

Directions:::

Step 1: Chop the cabbage, Grate the carrots, Dice the green pepper & slice the cucumber- Set aside separately

Step 2: Dice the beef and place in a Small pot. Blend the Onion, garlic, ginger, Scotch bonnets and pour into the pot with diced beef. Season with the stock cubes, Salt, Curry & thyme. Add some water and cook till tender for about 15mins. Once done, stir fry in vegetable oil for 3 mins.

To assemble:::

Step 3: Get one pita bread and open the pocket (This divides it into two). Place one on top of the other.

Step 4: Rub mayonnaise over the bread on top. Add the cabbage, carrot, cucumber, Beef – Sprinkle with powdered chili and drizzle with ketchup and more mayonnaise

Step 5: Fold to seal the contents and place on the pan (Greased with a little vegetable oil). Reduce the burner to the barest minimum and let the shawarma heat up on the side with the open flap . Flip and do the same for the other side.

Step 6: Yep! Your beef shawarma is ready. Serve.

Remember, portion control is one of the secrets to healthy living……..So, indulge a ‘lil but stay healthy

Thanks my brother,
Yes that is my name....how in the world could you ever guess that..lol? I mean what tipped you off...lol?

I can tell that you are intelligent.
In fact, (and not to blow-up everyone's heads) Nigerians are very intelligent people (I should know)... and need to continue channeling that intellect into only positive, and beneficial things (hope I said that in love)

I took a course in college several years ago that focused on Africa. I chose it cause I wanted to learn about my people...
It was one of the best courses I had ever taken...mainly because I had an enthusiastic professor! He was actually Pakistani...so he could relate to being a foreigner in America. He was so energetic about Africa...that it got me excited! I think he had visited and loved it !

Anyhow, I will never forget the phrase, "Africa...that magnificent cake"! That sentence started off the first chapter...and I never forgot that.

Politics aside (cause I don't know anything about that aspect of Nigeria), it is a mineral-rich and fertile country....not to mention the 10th largest supplier of oil in the world....which says something amazing about that country..

Anyhow, sorry for getting off track here...I just got excited about my "other half"!
I didn't know that the Moyin Moyin originated from the Yorubas....very interesting.
Well I thank you for the future info that you will give me...very helpful!

Blessings to you.

You asked:
"What tipped you off?"

Elementary answer my dear... Don't
YOU know I'm psychic? grin
It's a beautiful Ibo name you've
got. What state/town in Nigeria is
your dad originally from?

NBA star Victor Babatunde Oladipo of the Indiana Pacers is a Nigerian-American
and he's never been to Nigeria and only
visited Africa[i.e., South Africa] for the
first time in 2017 for the NBA Africa Game.
He plans on visiting Nigeria with his entire family
next year.

His parents are Nigerian-born and he enjoys Nigerian foods such as egusi, jollof rice, pounded
yam, just like the British-Nigerian current World Heavyweight
Champion, Anthony Olufemi Joshua
does too.

So you are NOT alone among Americans/British
of full or partial Nigerian descent who have
never visited the continent!

I enjoyed your thoughts about the
college course on Africa that you
took years ago. What was your core
study/specialisation while in college?

Did you know that there were many
foreigners[Indians, Pakistanis, British, Ghanaians,
Jamaicans, and some Americans] living and teaching in Nigerian high schools
and universities during the oil boom era
of the 1970s right through to the late 1980s
because of the strong Nigerian currency and
economy? Some eventually left Africa
for the United States and Canada to
for better opportunities in the academia!

Are you able to receive NL PMs? I could
PM you anytime if I have confidential
info to exchange with you.

I would like to wish you a Happy Holidays, and enjoy your

There is enough fuel to saturate Nigeria

You are a walking history buff...I might need to refer you when I want an answer to a question....

However, lol...I see brother that I got this one so wrong...and I should know better!

I heard that word (Akara balls) a few times growing up (by my dad)...but my late mother, who was Black American, never made it.

I DID however, grow up eating Ogbono and Egusi Soups with the infamous and ever popular FuFu! My mother ground the egusi seeds and had some friends who lived in another state deliver that wonderful Palm oil...and my dad said she nailed both soups.

Those were the only Nigerian (Igbo) foods that we ate...sadly enough.
I have had MoiMoi (if that's how it's spelled) before...and I had the tastiest white yams I've ever eaten in my life...

The akara looked like chicken sandwiches from a popular American food chain called "Chik Fila"...so I thought that might have been chicken pieces!

I will definitely look at more recipes though and attempt to conquer them!

African-American descent so you have
a broader perspective to life. May God

You're right though about the
near-similarity in the looks between
akara bread buns and the chicken
sandwich.

Moin Moin [Is a Lagos-Yoruba contraction
of the Yoruba word Moyin Moyin
which evolved from Western Nigeria
as a delicacy long before the British
colonisation]. The letter "y" was removed
from the original moyin moyin. The
delicacy is popular all over Nigeria
as well. Moyin Moyin means a "delicacy
that STICKS to the TEETH in Yoruba grin
[Eyin means teeth in Yoruba].

Last but not least, I love reading

mix of cultures and genealogies. I

Lol!... grin
Well that's Akara embedded in bread buns!
Akara is very tasty deep-fried beans paste[blended
with an electric grinder/blender with a mix
of tasty ingredients].

Akara is also popularly eaten in places such as Cuba and
Bahia in Brazil where it is called "Akara Iyesa"
[Iyesa is spelt as Ijesa in Western Nigeria]. Africans
from the Ijesa sub-group of the Yoruba
people in Nigeria who were taken in thousands
as captives in the 1800s to work in the South American slave plantations
brought Akara to Brazil from Nigeria.

Sir, you are wrong. Once you register with ICAN, you automatically become a MEMBER. You might never wish to take any of the ICAN professional exam, you will still be a MEMBER once you are paying your membership due. This applies to any professional association. For you to be CHARTERED, you must have sat and passed ALL the ICAN professional exams. I hope you get to see the difference sir. Just for your information, Ooni of ife attended The Polytechnic, Ibadan .
^^^^^^^
^^^^^^^
@MT

Yes... thanks for the ICAN clarifications info. It seems like YOU know
the Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi personally for you to know that he is NOT a
"chartered account
." This is taking into consideration that he read
"accounting" and graduated from "The Polytechnic in Ibadan":
http://www.polyibadan.edu.ng/

In his profile that I read when he first became the King in 2015, it was
indicated that the Ooni of Ife read accounting and graduated from "The Polytechnic
in Ibadan" in 2002 just as YOU rightly stated, so I just automatically assumed
that he would have done all his professional exams.

"He is a member of several professional bodies, which include; Institute of Chartered
Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), an Associate Accounting Technician and a certified member
of the Institute of Directors (IoD) Nigeria as well as Global Real Estate Institute (GRI)."

Read more: http://thenationonlineng.net/why-prince-ogunwusi-deserves-ooni-of-ife-title/

I actually knew him as far back as 2002/2003 when he and a group of
business people brought Association for International Business[AIB] to
Nigeria. He was then known with the appellation of "Mr." and NOT "Prince"
even right up to 2015 as the CEO of "Gran Imperio Group," he was still known
as Mr. Adeyeye Ogunwusi, which "probably" shows his humility by not
wanting to identify as an Ife Prince in his official correspondences
with the media.

The ONLY thing I wasn't too pleased with him [Ooni] for is when he went to Imo
State in late 2017 and offered on live TV to visit and speak to the leader of the
proscribed group led by Nnamdi. I felt it was politically incorrect for him to mediate
in what doesn't concern him and his people. And those guys would have used it for
propaganda and to massage their egos on YouTube that a "whole King of the
Yoruba" came to Umuahia to "bow down" for Kanu!" grin

Thanks again and have a
great week ahead! smiley

PS: Chartered accountants
There is a big difference between an "accountant" and a "chartered accountant."

Technically, and rather amazingly, anyone can call themselves an accountant regardless of what licensing or education they have. A "chartered" accountant however must be a current member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of either England & Wales, or Scotland, or Ireland. These organisations will only allow membership after a series of examinations have been passed and after the applicant has achieved the required amount of working experience to meet the criteria for membership.

Essentially, when you choose a chartered accountant, you have the reassurance that you will be working with an accountant with a high baseline of experience and certification, and who will be able to help you determine the best course of action whatever your financial situation and needs. So, choose a chartered accountant like Frost & Company, for the assurance that your financial matters will be handled correctly and competently.

I didn't feel like responding to this post
but decided to do so to avoid gross
misinformation.

The current Ooni of Ife is an multimillionaire
International Businessman and a chartered
accountant with heavy investments in property/real
estates in Lekki/Ajah axis of Lagos, Ogun, and the State of Osun. He owns Inagbe Grand Resort,
in Lagos, Furniture manufacturing company
and more in his group of companies.

He and other entrepreneurs introduced the Association of International Business
[AIB] in 2002/2003 into Nigeria and he made effective
use of it. I never knew he was from a Royal
family and would become the Ooni in the
future because he used to use Mr. and not
Prince as his title.

He is not a poor man as suggested in your
post. Yes he may be 43 years old
as of 2017 but he has achieved what people
older than him have not been able to achieve
in terms of wealth and touching the lives
of people.

I do not see anything wrong with the way
he shook hands with Otedola. When Otedola
who is an Ijebu man from Epe gets to the Palace
in Ile Ife, he would prostrate just like General
Olusegun Obasanjo did in the full glare
of press cameras when he visited Ooni Adeyeye
Ogunwusi.

Miriam's most famous song Pata Pata was
recorded and released as an album in the United States in
November 1967 but the song reigned seriously in the 1970s
and part of the 1980s!

This is one of the TRUE iconic/evergreen songs of all-time
from my music list as of 2017 going on to 2018...and beyond.

The song's title "Pata Pata" means "touch touch"
in the Xhosa language [Nelson Mandela's language], in which
the song was originally written and sung. "Pata Pata" was
also the name of a style of dance that was popular in the
shebeens of Johannesburg's Townships in the mid-1950s.

My father made me to love Miriam Makeba
because he would play her songs among that of
other artistes in the house or in the car and I
picked up right where he left off! grin

"According to Dr. Nigel Armstrong, a lecturer in French and sociolinguistics at the University of Leeds, there is nothing in the accent that makes French sexy or unsexy. In fact, the same could be said for any language that is included on our list. No language is inherently sexy, for accents and languages are merely sounds that follow an organizational structure. The reason why we think French or a particular language is sexy is much more interesting.

As Dr. Armstrong states, the sexiness of an accent or a language is due to our social and cultural backgrounds. Several surveys have been conducted on similar linguistic phenomena. People, depending on where they have grown up and with what they have been taught as normal, are prone to holding opinions that their culture holds. For centuries, the French have had the stereotype of being stylistic, cultured, suave, and most of all, sexy. Yet why the French?"...

Ok...thanks sir for your brief historical info! You are a lover of history! I love that you took it a step further.
Interesting how you said the two basically interconnect. I guess it's the flow of the words coupled with the accent that makes it "charming".
I can see that being attractive.
I find some particular accents to sound lovely.

There are different account from different researchers because the search for the authentic account is still far fetched as it relates to Yoruba history, which Adimlia /Odua played part during the growth of the group .

To be honest, Ikedu is not a king but a form of oral language spoken in ILE IFE from which there were account of older kings that existed before Oranmiyan emerged. And odua Admilia/Adimula,/Adimunia was somewhere the 44th king, because it was during the 46th king that Oranmiyan entered back into ILE IFE to challenge Obalufon who eventually stepped down. The point here is that ILE IFE was very important as it was a cosmopolitan city and some people lived there as at that time who were of different groups but two groups were more prominent, who were the priest lineage leader and the princely lineage group. The distortion today is as a result of inconsistency of the oral narrators because of egocentrism, which has made mockery of Africa history.

On the names you referred is partly a problem because Yoruba researchers didn't accept it in the first place that ILE IFE had been moved to several location, which has been said to be eight (cool places until recently. This definitely mean that Yoruba had mingled with different tribes before the mastery of survival within the deep forested environ. And there are modern information to buttress if indeed the mentioned Leaders you accounted were Rulers in ILE IFE, which if truly DNA ought to have acknowledged them as ILE IFE 's people. Even today, Oore Otun acknowledge that they were foreigners (according to their account, Oore history did mentioned that they emerged through the sea) and odua accepted them.

And at every passing on to the great beyond of each Ooni ,Oore Otun Ekiti is the one that reveals such information to the public domain culturally. Igala is practically related to Yoruba, the same way Tapa (Nupe) people. Lastly DNA has proof of strong ties of Yoruba people and many part of the world.

I quite Agree with the Yoruba part.

I discovered that most people find languages with a good balance between Vowels and Consonants very sexy. What that means is that when speaking it, the language does not aound too frictional, and is quite free flowing and melodious to the ears.

Queen Victoria of England in 1851

read the Lord's Prayer to her and
Prince Albert at Windsor

by a British Naval Squadron off
the coast of West Africa while
on an antislavery patrol and set

who he found years later in her Yoruba
hometown of Ketu, now in Benin Republic].

Well ladies and gentlemen, our poll to find the world’s sexiest language has finally come to a close. So what is the world’s sexiest language? What are the sexiest languages per region? While some of the languages on this list may not surprise you, some of them certainly will. The winners, according to popularity are:

1. French
2. British English
3. English
4. Arabic
5. Spanish
6. Samoan
7. Italian
8. Yoruba
9. Thai
10. Tahitian

However, when we calculated the sexiest language according to region, the list turns into:

• North America: English – Known for being the mutt of all languages, English has developed into a complex and beautiful creation that borrows the precision of German, the intensity of Latin, and the refiner of French.

• South America: Spanish – The language of a never dying love contains the vocabulary and rhythm that can make any person swoon.

• United Kingdom: British English – The accent of sophistication and of incredible depth, the British English contains sounds that can adjust itself into any position.

• Western Europe: French – Usually considered the suave and most cultured of the Romantic languages, French is as soft as silk and feels as warm as a lover’s stroke.

• Western Europe: Italian – Known for its poetic nature, Italian is the language of passion and fun, making this language addictive.

• Africa: Yoruba – With percussive intensity and syllables that sound like everyone is singing, Yoruba massages your ears into ecstasy.

• Pacific Islands: Tahitian - With its warmth and voluptuous sounds, Tahitian is the sound of gold coming to embrace you.

• Asia: Thai – Soft spoken, fun loving, and happy-go-lucky, the rich textures of Thai make this language incredibly seductive.

Thanks to your help, Day Translations has been able to search for the world’s sexiest languages in the world! While some of us are not surprised that French turned out to be the sexiest language of all, one can’t help but wonder: What makes a language sexy? And what is it about French?

According to Dr. Nigel Armstrong, a lecturer in French and sociolinguistics at the University of Leeds, there is nothing in the accent that makes French sexy or unsexy. For centuries, the French have had the stereotype of being stylistic, cultured, suave, and most of all, sexy. Yet why the French?

Generally, the persons who are the most favorable of the French tend to live in a Western culture. This come as no surprise when you consider the numerous polls that have studied attractiveness and sexiness tend to be taken in either the United Kingdom, or the United States. Seeing how both nations are fairly similar in contrast to say, Canada and Indonesia, the polls tend to have the same responses. It is not terribly surprising that Italian, British English, and French show up in every poll about sexy languages.

What is interesting though, is the fact that our poll happens to include a more varied population. As you can see, Arabic, Samoan, and even Yoruba have made it in to the top ten. Has the West ever considered the sexiness of Tahitian? Have we ever even paid much attention to the Yoruba language? Maybe it’s about time that we start to dig a little deeper into other cultures and learn about what makes them so sexy. Who knows, maybe Thai is truly the sexiest language. We just need to study the culture a little more.

You also need to hear the mixing

that of "ORISHAS" a Cuban hip-hop and rap

Words such as "Ileke," a Yoruba word

I listened to the Orishas urban hip-hop and rap
group for the first time in 2002 and they sounded
very melodious. The group from Havana, Cuba was
originally founded in 1999.

Seyi Shay sang "Yolo Yolo" MAJORLY in a MIXTURE of Yoruba [about 50% of the words],
Spanish, Nigerian Pidgin English, English and Hausa [Nagode]with the Afro-Cuban/Brazilian
upbeat music TEMPO!

"YOLO" is a popular online acronym or abbreviation that stands for: "You Only Live Once."

The Queen Victoria of England described the Yoruba

Hi... you have a BRILLIANT post here and
I love the FACT that you gave a Credible
Source for your post - NOT propaganda

It might interest you to know that when the first Black
Anglican Bishop Samuel Ajayi Crowther read the Lord's Prayer
in Yoruba on his visit in 1851 to the iconic Queen Victoria of England
at Windsor Castle, she listened with attention and at
the end of the reading described the Yoruba language as
"SOFT and MELODIOUS." You can read more about
this visit to England via the updated Weblink below from the
BBC World Service Website on: "The Story of Africa" under
the entry "19th Century Black Missionaries"

Yoruba is a tonal language and it does
sound melodious when you listen to it
and the names have meanings and that
is why Diasporians like African-Americans
who are self-aware of culture give Yoruba,
Ashanti and Swahili-derived names to
their kids. Serena and Venus Williams'
late sister was known as Yetunde Price, the American rapper
Akinyele [he is NOT Yoruba originally],
Shola Ama [the British pop diva].
Ayo which means "Joy" is also a popular
Yoruba name among AAs.

I also think that Hausa is a beautiful
sounding language too and it is easy
to learn if you are determined!

Samson Motors has joined the race to have the first flying cars in the skies, with the world's first 200mph (320km/h) flying sports car, dubbed the Switchblade.

The Switchblade is a 5.1 metres long three-wheel car with two seats, designed by the Oregon-based Samson Motors. It has an extendable wings and a retractable tail that fold out, taking the car's length to 6.2 metres, meaning it can be used both on the road and in the sky.

On the ground, the Switchblade's top speed is 100mph (160 km/hour), while in the sky it can reach speeds of 200mph (320 km/hour).

Unlike vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) vehicles, the Switchblade can't take off from the road, and will need to be flown from regular airports. The Switchblade can cruise at an altitude of 13,000 feet and at a top speed of 200mph.It is also fitted with a safety parachute.

In terms of engine, the Switchblade has a 5-speed transmission for driving, powered by a 190bhp liquid-cooled 1.6-litre V4 engine, which gives the car a range of around 450 miles from the 113-litre(30 gallons) fuel tank.

Three versions of the car exist which includes the Snowbird for colder climates, the Trek, designed for heavy-duty landing, and the Aurora, which combines the Snowbird and Trek.

Prices will start at around £90,000($120,000), but once you've bought the car you can't just jet off.A private pilot's licence is required to fly it, and on the roads a full driving licence is needed.

Samson faces stiff competition from several other firms like Airbus, Urban Aeronautics , Lilium Aviation, AeroMobil, EHang 184, S2, Terrafugia TF-X and Volocopter, who are racing to be the first to have a flying car in the skies.
