Thanks a lot bro, I appreciate your concern. Mummyjaygirls actually did the magic. She went to BC on my behalf and even before she told me she did, BC had sent me an acknowledgement mail. Many thanks to her.
I'll so check out your suggestions. That's one of the reasons I booked 30th September, I'll have more than enough time to prepare well.
Great. Mummyjaygirls be helping since time immemorial. God bless her richly.

Congratulations to those who got ITA and every other person who recently had a movement or the other on their application, your ministry is gradually moving to the permanent site.

To those who missed the last ITA by a whisker, hang in tight.

And to those waiting for ECA and or IELTS, God's favor be with us all.

Hi ayxmania, good to see your concern has been sorted. Can you please clarify what action(s) you took, just so a future applicant who finds himself in your previous situation can be appropriately guided.

For your other post as regards preparation, check YouTube, you'd find unlimited past exams there. After you've had enough samples, narrow your search down, you can search for "ielts Emma", "ielts Adam", "ielts Rebacca", "ielts Liz", "ielts engvid". With these five search, you'd have enough to prep you up. You can also check www.engvid.com, www.writetotop.com then www.ieltsliz.com and www.ieltsbuddy.com for more tips.
Cheers.

MummyJaygirls, this is thoughtful and touching. I had same issue when I paid for mine, in fact, I made an inquiry on it here. However, I got a confirmatory mail and an update two days after payment was made. If I may advice, allow the poster give till end of today before you proceed. I don't understand the bolded. ITA ON THE 12th of July that means he has till October to submit so why the hurry. I would advise you take your time in order not to have your application rejected.
He said he's planning to return to Nigeria end of September, I assumed that to be last day of September at the most, so 12 (or 11) more days in October.

Hello House
I am kind of confused i need advice. I submitted POF (bank statement and bank reference) as part of my ITA documentations, but i have since been using the money for urgent things that came up, what is the consequences?
secondly, i got my ITA July 12 while in the US where i and my wife came to have our baby, all my documents are up to date but for medicals. I am confused about where to do the medicals, i will be back to Nigeria by end of September, I called up the hospital here in houston, they gave me a bill of $940 for me, my wife and my baby. I am thinking of waiting till end of september to go back to Nigeria for the medicals. my questions are as follows;

1. will it be cheaper for me in Nigeria, for many of us who did it in Nigeria what is the cost like for somewhere like Lagos ? Mind you$940 is 340k at todays rate.

2. what happens to other documents like my POF or police report that will be almost 2 to 3 months old before i get to Nigeria. Will i have to get a new bank statement, like i said earlier ...the money don dey deplete o.
please if you manage to understand me, i need your advice
First of all, what do you mean by you submitted POF as ITA documents?
1.) For a family of 3 (I assume) in Nigeria, you wouldn't spend up to N80k at max, that's if you go by the expensive hospital. So yes, it's way cheaper in Nigeria but then, you'd have just about 12 days to submit your application as you got ITA July 12th.
2.) If your cumulative US stay adds up to be more than 6 months after you left USA, then you will need a new PCC, this is where it gets tricky as that takes about 10 weeks to receive, you obviously don't have that luxury, but you can as well submit proof that you've requested the PCC - you have a little silver lining there. For POF, i'm afraid at the point of submission, you will have to show a balance which is above the required amount for your family size, in essence, you'd need to top up your account (POF).

Hello.
Thank you to everyone who has answered all the questions I have asked and other questions on this thread.
I am the PA and I have my IELTS and ECA. My husband has IELTS but his school has not even sent his transcript to IQAS for ECA.
Question:
1) Can I start the EE process with my IELTS and ECA and his IELTs. The CRS tool score is 459 with this.
2) If we do get ITA before he gets his ECA, do we still need to upload his ECA? Or no need and he can just use it to get a job in Canada or will it affect the PR chances?
3) Because I am the PA, he will transfer the POF to my account and I can submit LOE, statement etc. But does he also need to submit his own statement of accounts/bank reference letter since he is my dependent?
To support @Dammiehar post, IQAS requires 30 business days (6 weeks) to complete ECA, then there's the school delay which seems like you've been at it for a while. To put it lightly, add another 2 weeks for school to send the transcript which gives you a total of 2 months to add a maximum of 10 points to 459 which itself surpassed all CRS observed this year.

Please go ahead to create your profile, and even begin to gather documents you think might require time. In that two months you're waiting for your husband's ECA, your PPR go don de do press-up preparing to hit you with Usain Bolt speed.

Pls your candid response will be appreciated.

Thanks
In as much as i'd love to answer your question, i'd rather give an advice. There are about 700 pages on this thread, try read just about 2/3rd of the thread and you'd be over informed but if you can read all, you'd be glad you did. That's if you are serious about what lead you to this thread.

Sorry to say but your question is too mundane. If you can ask this, then be sure there are several other questions you'd still ask which have been over-flogged. You'd learn useful information you might need if you take the pain to read through the thread.
On a second thought, evaluate your highest degree.

Congratulations . Amen

Please guys I want to apply for my transcript(unilag Msc). Do I apply in my maiden name since that's the name on the certificate. And how do I attach wes form and also tell them to write my wes no on the form. Pls i'm trying to apply online now. TIA
Request for transcript in your maiden name while you can apply for ECA in your new surname (especially if some other documents are in the new surname).

When filling the transcript form, there's a space for intended address, just fill the address part starting with your WES Reference Number. I.e actually writing WES Reference Number: ABCXWZ then continue next line with WES address. When you apply for your ECA, WES will send you the address, just write it out the way it's written. Unilag (and I believe all other schools) copies the address the way applicants write them, most schools are familiar with WES so they know the reference number should be included, you don't need to tell them. If you however fill the intended address on your transcript request form without stating your reference number, I don't think you'd be called to fill it... Na so school go just help you forward your transcript without stating the reference number!

The WES form is not mandatory but you can attach it to your evidence of payment then upload same in place holder for evidence of payment. Attach both evidence of payment and the form to the required mail, here you can do the attachments separately.

I hope this helps.

Please has anyone with T.bills and Dom account in First Bank been able to get the bank letter in the CiC format?

If yes, how did you go about it? If No, how did you handle that requirement?
Hi Yimiton, if you cannot get the required format, I believe the six months statement will suffice for the dom account while you can request a certificate for the Tbills. When uploading, support the documents will a LOE stating the letter could not be gotten in the required format hence you providing the closest alternative.

URGENT PLS

Is it advisable to claim work experience while one is on study leave and not in active service.

I was working in an hospital from June 2013 to January 2015 as Medical Laboratory Scientist. I was granted study leave to go to UK for masters till June 2016.

So, from February 2015 to June 2016, I was not working. After the expiration of my study leave, I resigned cos I got something better doing.

So, does February 2015 to June 2016 count towards work experience?
You schooled in "the abroad" and you want to claim work experience "in Nigeria" for same period. My brother, your application will be flung out the window and you won't see where the thing land for 5 years!

Really angry and feeling devastated right now. July 8th exam result just came out and it was a mess up for me. LSRW-7.5,7,6.5,7.5. Feel so hurt and tired of the whole thing. Ain't doing dat exam again perhaps for now. Gotta take a break, Ontario might call while chilling being an IT person with 381 which is possibly hitting 390 after spouse's ECA or EE cut off just come down to 390 while I believe will happen someday from a personal study. I will be glad to embrace any of the stated options.

Gotta take a break but before dat lemme ask for a remark in listening and reading. Who knows, something good might come outta dat cos I'm a bit optimistic about it especially for the listening.

Guyz, can someone please list all the steps involved in asking for a remark biko. Dat's all I need for now.

Salam!
bigbrodas don't quit in the face of challenge!... I'm sure most people here can relate with having to write the exam for three times and perhaps for the fourth time. To say the least, there's the financial implication and there's the physiological effect. Three times is daunting talk little of four times. I only have one word to say - Persevere.

I'm yet to take mine but let me share one tip I noticed to have improved my practice score in listening. When you mark yourself after the test, please do not write the right answers where you got it wrong, just mark the whole test without noting the particular questions you got wrong nor their correct answers. If you write the answers and probably check through the test afterwards, your brain will most likely remember the answers the next time you take that particular test, so in effect, you've not trained yourself to listen for the answers but rather trained yourself to pick the answers.

Another less difficult way is to note the questions you got wrong but not their answers (for same reason above), here, when you get to the part of the question, you listen more attentively for the answer as you already know which part of the audio to watch out for. I hope this help you, me and others to take the test.

Michelllo, thanks for your input. Lasu has responded to the verification! I checked profile this morning and noticed a status change - now "Documents received, review in progress".

For future Lasu applicants, In my opinion using my request as reference, you actually don't need to visit the school to follow up your transcript request and verification response. Transcript got to WES three weeks from request day while verification response got acknowledged within two weeks. I never got to the school nor called anyone.

I'm quiet impressed with Lasu.

Shalom.
I am retracting part of the quoted post. N10,000 is indeed to be paid for verification!

My status unbelievably changed back to waiting for verification, I waited for about three days to see the wonders happening if it was some sort of glitch or whatever. About the 4th day, I sent a mail to WES to please clarify if LASU had responded as my status had earlier changed from waiting for verification to documents received and now back to waiting for verification. 2 days later WES replied saying they are awaiting verification and the evaluation will be completed as soon as they get a favorable response from LASU.

I gave another week to see if LASU would respond. After watching status remain same for the whole week, it became apparent a visit to Lasu is necessary so I went today. Lasu in her wise thinking sent WES a pay advice that I have to pay 10,000 before they respond. (a payment to be made by me was communicated to WES!).

What needs to be done for LASU applicants; as soon as you get a status change to awaiting verification, proceed to pay N10,000 at Sterling Bank in school - account name and number to pay to is in the banking hall tapped to the writing platform, go convert the bank teller to official receipt at Block 2 Room 11 (note, you'd be asked to write your name and purpose of payment at the back of the bank teller), then take the official receipt to Exams and Record (ICT building), there the receipt will be stapled to your documents sent from WES and verification response subsequently processed.

Hello,
I was in school on Monday, met a guy who confirmed the response should get to WES at the later part of this week. Apparently, school collates the verification request over a period then respond to all at once.

I am hopeful for a change in status by next week Tuesday considering the three working days WES requires to update status.

Plenty thanks in advance for your help kiss kiss kiss kiss

Price for IELTS
WES evaluation
Price for application and any other thing i need to pay for...
Good Morning to you,

Sweetrie has given you the basics to start with, in addition to her post, see an overview below;
Medicals - Cost varies across hospitals and family size.
PCC (Police clearance, A.K.A Police character check) - Depends on your negotiation skills but should be in range of N5,000
Application fee - CAD550, paid by PA and spouse. Huge concession applies for children I think under 18.
RPRF (Right of Permanent Residence Fee) - CAD490, paid by PA and spouse. Not sure if kids pay this.
Elders advice Application fee and RPRF be paid together.

You have other incidental cost to consider as well, such as cost of transcript (and verification cost in some cases - that's if you're using WES). Then you have courier for sending passport in the event of PPR.

On another note, if you schooled in Nigeria, please start your ECA now as it takes time to receive the report. I started mine almost 2 months back and I have not the report as at today. Don't wait to write IELTS before you begin your ECA.

Cheers.

Wrong move. Your POF in Naira will be changed to CAD, and Your USD will be changed to CAD, to check if it meets the requirement.
They will not first convert USD to Naira then to CAD.
(Everyone knows you lose money when you keep changing to different currency)

Please do not waste your money. Provide your USD statement the way it is. DO NOT sell to Aboki to present POF in Naira
Cheers
In other not to derail the thread, i'd try make this post short and probably leave the argument as it is, more so, the OP got the intent of my message.

To begin with, I never said VO will change USD to NGN first, then to CAD. In fact, I clearly stated ALL currencies will be changed to a base currency (CAD)!

Secondly, I never encouraged the OP to change the dollar to naira and then back to dollar. I am too aware (and sure she is) that money will be lost in the process.

Please see for yourself what $10,000 equates to in CAD and what "same" N3,670,000 equates to in CAD. Even if you decide to change USD to NGN and then back to USD, Sir, the short run benefit for someone whose POF is a little bit off target outweighs the monetary value she'd lose in the process of conversions.

And what you seem to forget, I don't even need to sell the dollar to have the naira equivalent!. I'd leave details of that out.
Regards.

Thanks a million! I really appreciate your response, particularly the part about explaining the PoF in a table. That will make it much more straight forward and easy to understand
In another case of yours, I was thinking about POF in foreign currency, then felt it might be a disservice if you provide POF in dollars especially if the funds was gotten at black market rate (regardless of when it was gotten). I'd give a scenario and a check to buttress this opinion;
Using USD for my analysis, assuming you have $10,000, this at present black market rate of N367/$ implies you have N3,670,000 but to the VO using official rate of N306 to a USD, your $10,000 is worth just N3,060,000!
Remember bulk of your POF is in Naira, now with addition of some in USD, I'd want to assume the VO will convert all to a base currency, more like Canadian dollar.
To the check, see for yourself on oanda what "N4,000,000 + $10,000" comes to in CAD, then check what "N4,000,000 + N3,670,000 (assuming you change the $10,000 to Naira at black market) comes to in CAD... You'd see the latter gives you more value than the former. In fact, almost 2,000CAD more!.
In essence, if your dollar you got at black market rate is changed using official rate, my dear, you've lost significant value! Thus, it will be to your advantage to change back that foreign currency at aboki's rate then present a N3,670,000 than a $10,000.
PS. All figures and rates used are hypothetical, i don't know what amount you have nor applicable rates.
Others can throw more weight.

What is the difference between proof of funds and supporting funds pls? Pensions was referred to in the document that was shared in line with POF. I was thinking that being that we'll require it to make up only the balance of 20% and not the entire POF, that it might be ok. Do you mean even that might not be unacceptable.
Yimiton, please stop worrying yourself. Sometimes back, someone uploaded a section of letter of rejection (I think). In the letter, it was clearly stated that they are aware the applicant is entitled to 25% of the pension fund. Thus, they have calculated and added that portion to the POF, yet, the sum didn't come up to the required amount! If it was stated that, they are aware of the 25% then why worry yourself? Again, I think in this referred instance, the VO added the 25% on his own thinking without the applicant mentioning it.
I would advice as its been stressed before, that you do a simple calculation (in tabular form) in your LOE stating what amount is coming from Tbills, your dom account and the pension fund. Then remember to do a Total column and probably add another column for required amount. I believe the details in tabular form will give easy and fast understanding, back this up with a worded explanation.
If i were in your shoes, my dear, I will worry less about having required amount.
My opinion.

But the monthly spending limit on my naira master card has just been reviewed from $100 too $1000.
If this is valid, then you should be able to pay using your naira card. However, I believe the increase in limit should be general than individual specific as I am yet to receive any such notice on my naira accounts.

Please house, I intend evaluated my transcript through WES, (any other preferred evaluating body suggestion will be appreciated)

1. Should I send them the transcript through my school?
2. Can I send them the soft copy of my degree cert and through wat means (email or fax)?
3. Can I pay using my naira master card? Thanks.
Hello Seer,

WES and IQAS are the commonly used institutions for degrees other than Medicine related. However, if you have a law degree, you are advised to use IQAS. For degrees apart from Law and Medicine related courses, please feel free to use either of the two bodies, both in recent cases tend to have about same turn around time. To answer your specific questions;
1.) Please send the transcript through your school. Some folks here have managed to send theirs privately but to save time, request your school to send it. If you send by yourself and the package does not conform to standard, the transcript will be rejected! You will receive simple instructions on what to do and what document(s) is required when payment is made, you can still find out these instructions before financial commitment.
2.)Yes, scanned copy of your degree is required. Only Fax is accepted by WES (you won't even find their email address to begin with). I believe only fax is accepted by IQAS too. You can use free fax services, google free fax services and you would be done within minutes.
3.)Payment cannot be made using naira cards due to the daily limit imposed on the naira cards. You can pay with domiciliary accounts card. If you have the time, go open a dom account, get your card, fund the account and subsequently pay using your dom accounts card. Another way to pay is to use someone else's card, but please be guided. Someone on this thread a few weeks back got into serious "yawa" asking a friend to pay for him.
Lastly, please read and digest pages of this thread. All you've asked have been extensively dealt with.
Regards.
