Great, we'll take it up offline but want to add this here just for someone else.

Once Unilag sends your transcript, there's a logbook where your name and tracking number is written. So you can always check that book to pick your tracking number and date it was sent. The logbook is easy to access, placed on a desk without any restriction to view.

Also, If I dive into the pool now with hubby, I will have a CRS of 430 and 456 without hubby and this will decrease by 5 points come December 26th. Unilag has refused to send my transcript to Wes since August. Can anyone Pls help With a contact to hasten this process of diving and getting ITA; ie if CRS will fall below 430 before 26/12.

FBI PCC is PCC for USA. Each country has its own PCC, sometimes with different nomenclature. For your spouse Uganda PCC, did he stay in Uganda for six months or more? If yes, it may be best he initiates process of getting the PCC early.

Now, for the bolded, Who's the PA, are you? If yes, you surely need your ECA to effectively swim in that pool you want to dive into.

You might get a contact here but I'd rather go to senate myself to have that transcript sorted, then maybe let a contact follow up afterwards. August to date is too long a time for you not to have received your ECA from WES talk little of transcript still not processed.

So I once made a post that I’d be using passport taken for e-apr for PPR and I was corrected the specifications are different. Truly, the specifications differ but I had erroneously requested to have PPR specification when I went for e-Apr . Attendant asked if passport was needed for Canadian PR. Guy must have asked if for PPR but I assumed I heard PR. So, I answered YES.

When I read the PPR specification was bigger than e-apr, I had thought and even joked CIC wanting a frame sized passport cause what I had for e-apr was biggg, to come think a bigger one will be needed was just like ok, kuku tell me you want a picture naw.

Here’s how it worked.
For e-apr, frame size is at least 35mm by 45mm. Chin to crown between 31mm and 36mm.
For PPR, frame is 50mm by 70mm. Chin to crown between 31mm and 36mm (same with e-apr).
I guess since e-apr ask at least 35mm by 45mm, my 50mm by 70mm worked well.

Ehn ehn, it is not my mouth you heard to go take PPR size for e-Apr o. If anyone go send e-Apr size for PPR, DHL will gladly thank you for you continued patronage !

For the NYSC, I would have assumed the letter will cover period of NYSC (that which is on the NYSC certificate). @Feygbe, can you please confirm date stated in your reference letter.

Congratulations kontagious....the cover page you added was it given to you by the bank or its something you did by your self? My question is did you attach the conventional bank reference letter as your cover page? Thanks and congratulations again... Sweet time-line.

The cover page was written by me, just a one page saying my POF was 2 TBills certificates and 6 months SOA. In the letter, I did a table showing the sums in each proof and wrapped it with CAD equivalent. I didn't get any letter from the bank.

Since your duties match 4021, go with 4021 for now. Duties matters more than Title. When you get your reference letter and duties listed in it differs to what you have under 4021, you can change your NOC post ITA to one that conforms with your letter. We've had a couple of folks who changed NOC post ITA and have their CoPR now.

So I checked Administrative Officer's NOC - 1221 it is, please look through the duties listed under the NOC to confirm what you do (primarily) fits at least 70%.

Your masters and work experience will give you good points, hope age is on your side? If not, you may wish to compliment your score by having your spouse (if married) take the IELTS or do ECA.

To your question, it is very ok to apply as Administrator if your duties match the duties under 1221, and your masters is good for evaluation.

If however, your job description is far off what 1221 does, you will need to search for a NOC that fits what you do. If you are sure your office will give a reference letter in totality to what you do including that of the Environmental Health Officer, you may search for Environmental Health Officer's NOC as well then compare with what you do. The NOC will have to be of the 0, A or B category. Worthy to note is that Job Title does not matter much but Job Description. So, you might find a NOC with a different title (other than Administrative Officer) but duties that fits what you do.

Long post alert!

When I started this journey, I was less knowledgeable, in fact I had zero knowledge till I stumbled on this thread. Plan then was to make my wife PA. Our profile is almost same except me with MSc and hers was still in the making. The decision to make her PA was because she has only one employer while I’ve had not less than 4, so I thought should IRCC need work confirmation, it will be much faster getting the confirmation from one employer than multiple that will be applicable in my case. More so, her employer has some form of international recognition while I have mostly played with semi-local champions, so her reference letter should also carry much credence I assumed.

Meanwhile, because of lack of knowledge, myself and my wife agreed to use an agent – who is a client of her employer. She spoke with the fellow and feedback was “first thing we need is IELTS, once that is gotten, we will proceed”. I was somewhat angered that he gave a very vague response without even telling at the least what will be done following IELTS, man didn’t even recommend the score to aim. I will later thank God he didn’t give any other detail cause that was the last she spoke to him about this journey. Luckily for us, his stand propelled me to search which of course led me to this thread.

Previous thread was around page 440+, read about the first 180 pages while keeping up with current discussion, also read about 100 pages backward and left the remaining but always kept followed the discussions.

It was during my reading I deduced the IELTS wasn’t necessarily the first as ECA takes a bit of time, then reviews about WES was somewhat terrible with folks complaining WES hardly respond to queries. Other than the communication lapse, I didn’t see any other negative comment plus few participants had shared ways of getting WES to respond (the twitter/facebook attack). Unfortunately, I don’t have any of such account but figured if need be, I was going to open the needed account and get my message across. So, WES we went with.

To get transcript from the school to WES, I posted my first questions on the thread but still PMed Yimiton for more tips and ways around Unilag. Unknown to me, she would be very instrumental in the subsequent days and months to follow. After a few exchange of emails on transcript request and WES Vs IQAS, we switched to BBM. During our early chats, she asked for my profile. Next, she sent me two CRS scores. One my wife being the PA and the other me as PA. Because my wife has only BSc at the time, her CRS was far lesser than mine. My new found friend advised I take the mantle of course shredding my thoughts of having delayed confirmation cause I’d be using three references. Later in our chats, I’d realize my wife didn’t even need to write IELTS, scores was then at the lowest ever. Another relief for me cause my wife preparing for IELTS was a dream we both dreaded. Her work is tasking, she gets home knackered and we have a wonderful infant who would still demand the most of her.

While ECA was ongoing, we got our new passports and I registered for IELTS. All looked well as estimation was to have IELTS and ECA about the same thing. Truly, both came days apart but IELTS was a wreck. Eventually registered for another IELTS while EOR was initiated. Second result was a relief, started gathering needed documents as soon as the result came, there was a draw the week of the result so I had roughly two weeks to gather all documents as I wanted to submit the earliest possible.

AOR was few days from ITA. Week of submitting, a discussion came on that would send me shaking – it was VO’s erroneously ignoring some POF documents. I had used two similar TBills certificates and balance from provided statement, all without a cover letter. The TBills were sufficient to cover my needed funds but if the statement was only considered like it was discussed then, that will be a blow.

Again, I ran to Yimiton who we had grew much closer, some successes had been achieved on our paths. Conclusion was of course to redo the POF with a cover letter and raise CSE the fastest possible time. I’d later discuss with GlitteringStar who also assured me to relax as all needed to be done had been done. Some days later, I was a bit free then went through my CIC account only to discover that my CRS score was one point higher than it should be. I digged further than found where the one point came from, spouse education was 9 instead of 8. GlitteringStar shinned again assuring me to stay calm and positive, “patapata” VO will only remove the extra one point and proceed should I not fall below my draw’s ITA.

Let me add a little more detail, maybe some questions would be answered in the process.

Work Experience/Reference Letter
Pre ITA, I filled three places of work – all previous employment. The 3rd being just a 6 months duration and without it, I’d still be over 3 years.
Since ITA was sure, I started gathering supporting document from the day of the result. The 1st two reference letters were gotten with very little effort but the 3rd was a bone in the throat. After the request for the letter, I called, mailed, texted, sent whatsapp messages but the CEO somewhat ignored all communications. I had earlier discussed my need of the letter with line head, but he was out of town so option of having him write the letter was dashed. I gave myself till a day to ITA to get the letter or I’d delete the work experience from work history. I ended up not getting the letter before ITA and I didn’t get chance to delete. I had no other option than to delete post ITA since letter was not forthcoming.

For the other two, I provided complimentary cards even though the letters were on letterhead. The 1st, a real estate firm signed by a managing partner, I included his card. The other, a much bigger firm. Reference letter was a one page on letter head with all details except for Job Description. I requested the letter made reference to the JD as an attachment which was obliged, JD was 2 pages printed on plain paper (like an internal memo) with company’s logo and name at the top – the two page JD was black and white, only the one page letter was signed by Head, HR and DMD. Both signatures were digital. I couldn’t get any of their cards so I got Recruitment Manager’s Card in place and attached to the letter.

POF
POF was initially 9 pages – 2 Tbills certificates, 6 pages of 6 months SOA, last page was screenshot of Oanda and Xe showing my total sum in CAD equivalent. POF was all from a joint account. The 1st Tbills was about 2 months to ITA, the second was a day after ITA. Both of same amount, same tenor (6 months) but different rates. Then SOA was printed two days Post ITA – a day after the 2nd Tbills. The Tbills were sufficient to cover our required funds but the statement had a closing balance of about N1.8m, Within a week from printing (or AOR), balance in the account fell below N1m. Even till now, it’s still below 1m. There’s been inflows but the outflows are heavier. Application fee + RPRF were taken from the funds. I had conviction to deep hand into POF has the TBills were sufficient so even if asked for updated POF, I’d submit the two Tbills and the SOA (maybe with a little topup). Later raised CSE with exact same document except that I added a cover page letter to the POF detailing there were two similar but different TBills certificates and SOA.

Both were done same day, a day after ITA

@Newmum, I have no contact but your colleague needs to make a 10k payment. That's probably what's delaying the verification. See below an excerpt from a previous post.

"What needs to be done for lasu applicants; as soon as you get a status change to awaiting verification, proceed to pay N10,000 at Sterling Bank in school - account name and number to pay to is in the banking hall tapped to the writing platform, go convert the bank teller to official receipt at Block 2 Room 11 (note, you'd be asked to write your name and purpose of payment at the back of the bank teller), then take the official receipt to Exams and Record (ICT building), there the receipt will be stapled to your documents sent from WES and verification response subsequently processed."

I am a Lasuite. The process of getting transcript from the school is very easy. All you need to do is to apply and pay online. It is usually ready after 2 weeks. In fact, i'm through with my certificate verification. I submitted my certificate to WES via fax and applied to LASU for online verification of the certificate. It cost me 6k and everything was completed withing 2 weeks. I am currently waiting for my transcript to be sent to WES. I did that 2 weeks ago and paid about 21k to LASU.

@Kontagious, will I get a follow up from LASU, I mean, will I be called from the exams & records that the transcript has been sent because I have no means of reaching them and I can't leave my place of work for now?

I see you paid for certificate verification, I didn't but WES still accepted the certificate on review. I'd speak about my request.

Request (including payment) for transcript was done online. For about two weeks from the day of request, I tried to get a contact that I could just at the least confirm when the transcript will leave school. About the 3rd week, I was told it takes about 2 weeks for the transcript to leave school. Exactly three weeks in, WES updated my profile to acknowledge receipt (I took that to mean transcript got to WES three days before that update).

Like a week or so after the update of documents received, status changed to awaiting verification, because I didn’t know payment was required, I stayed back and did nothing. Somewhat, status changed to document received along the line and so I thought LASU had responded to the verification only for that status to change back to awaiting verification some days later. I didn’t know what prank WES was playing, I mailed WES asking for clarification if the verification had been received or not. WES responded speaking grammar that they’d complete the ECA as soon as verification is received.

I gave about one more week to see if status would change to verification received but no, it didn’t. So, I went to school to confirm if payment is required as I had read a 10k is required (the post I saw was made about a year, wasn’t sure if the payment still applies)

Got to school and was told I needed to make 10k payment. Later found out during the visit that verification request had gotten to LASU 20 days before I went – just about the time I got update of awaiting verification. File was sitting fallow among other request yet to pay the 10k. To your question, I don’t think anyone from school will call you.

To wrap it up, you transcript should be acknowledged by WES maybe from third week of request but it shouldn’t exceed four weeks… If it exceeds the 4th week, please find time to visit the school. Then once you get status change to awaiting verification, you have to get to school as soon as you can to make the 10k payment. The verification request is sent via mail so school should have it before you get there. Once the 10k payment is made, school should respond within a week and your WES profile updated accordingly. I got the update within a week.

Even if s/he have paid, transcript is still in Nigeria. That's 9 weeks processing time excluding time for IQAS to acknowledge receipt (which can be up to 4 weeks). I'd rather go with cancellation, request refund and use the money on another body. Only if degree in question is not Law though.

As long as the transcript is signed, sealed and stamped, you can send it to IQAS yourself. Use DHL. Have someone else do it on your behalf so your name is not the sender. You should be fine.

They want the school to send it to avoid fraud. But they know what they are looking for (stamped, signed, sealed). Even if you school sends it and the seal is broken (often by reckless NIPOST, if you use them), they still won't collect it.

But if the seal is broken, don't even bother. They'll reject it and insist you send another.

Seal in question here is already broken! S/he opened the package on receipt.

Institutions issue transcript as many times as you request. By my understanding, it even becomes easier and faster after the first request. Its certificates most will not issue more than once.

For the price, its almost same across the three bodies with say +/- $50. What you should rather consider when choosing body should be your discipline and type of degree.

If you use WES, you'd have to go through verification which cost extra N10,000. The verification gets done once the payment is made. ICES on the other hand does not require verification and their timeline recently has been superb.

Last word, if you're not accessing a law degree, Please drop IQAS. Go with either WES or ICES.

Surprised to see its LASU's transcript. That school is one of the seamlessly easy schools to get transcript with little follow up needed. Speaking of my recent experience and seems to cut across board. WES acknowledged receipt of transcript exactly three weeks from the request date, that means transcript left school just about the 2nd week! My other concern is why are you so particular about using IQAS? are you aware of their timeline compared to WES and ICES?

I honestly can't tell if she did but I doubt. I don't think you should decline as long as your reference letter(s) will be in sync with the new NOC.

@Bolded, You've maxed out the other modules except the listening module. If the score is upgraded to 8.5, it will add just 3 marks to your CRS score (Remarking is a gamble plus the arduous 10 weeks wait). The best thing to do is to look for other ways to improve your CRS score. Congrats!

Reading is actually maxed out at 8 but waiting 10 weeks for 6 points upgrade (in the objective components) and at 413 is somewhat a stretch to me though.

My dear, that's a very fair score for recent draws, dive into the pool already please. I remember reading you once posted your CRS was 480s, then your humbled listening experience... Somewhat did the maths for eventualities.

Stay in the pool, you may register for another test but i'd think chances are very high you'd receive ITA before result of your new test is out. My opinion.

To those trying to check result and getting result not found, please make sure the alphabet in your passport number is capital and also confirm all login details are correct. Leaving the alphabet in small letter can lead to that error.

Should the error persist, you may hold off a bit and try much later, you should get it before the day runs out. The tension may get more intense with the wait but as it is, you just have to wait or get to BC's office before 12noon.

If you so wish but Listening and Reading must be answered using pencil. You may however use a pen when answering on your question paper but when you're transferring to the answer sheet, only pencil must be used for both Listening and Reading. You may choose to use either pencil or pen for Writing.
