Any point asking for a remark in listening?. I was kinda worried dt day though, midway into d listening part my speaker started doing one shiiiiiiiiiiii! sound like wen one is changing tv channel. Den it bounced bak, but not before I missed about 3 questions.
Your static experience is upsetting to hear, it can happen to anyone. No fault of yours but then, how do you prove your case.
To the experienced fellows, is there anyway to make complains other than EOR?

I can't keep calm oooo, #olowogbogboro is moving me on ooo. I just passed medicals, see my time line:

Dependents 5
EE may 4
Ita may 17
Aor June 2
Med pass July 7
NA july 7

All glory to my God...amen
Congrats on your med passed. Your AOR caught my attention - just about 2 weeks from ITA! That's remarkable.

I'd like to think most of your documents were handy before ITA, do you mind sharing ideas as to how you achieved this?

Recipients of ITA in your draw are still within the 90 days submission period, some are still gathering documents while some are waiting for POF to mature, my guy here don already pass medical!

Your post as well as @Mire222 post reechoes the fact that planning is sure critical to achieving success, and in time.

Congrats again.

Algbenguze:
Thanks for the info. I plan to assess my wife's BSc from LASU but need a little clarification.
1. How did you get your WES transcript request form to LASU without visiting?
2. Can she use her notification of result?
3. How much in total did it cost you? I know LASU uses an online portal and charges N4k for transcript. Did you pay any additional fees for courier?
Cheers!
Hello Algbenguze,
1.) From my understanding, that form is mandatory for only UI (I stand to be corrected) though I submitted same for my Unilag request. To the question at hand, since there was no placeholder to upload the form, all i did was to fill the address part of the form the same way WES would send you. It's something as;
WES Reference No.: 0123456789
World Education Services
Attention: Documentation Center
2 Carlton Street, Suite 1400
Toronto, Ontario M5B 1J3
Canada.
Once the reference number is quoted, I believe your package should be fine.
2.) Not sure but seem notification of result is accepted in lieu of certificate.
3.) Total I spent was N14,000 (exclusive of N100 bank charge), seems it now cost N20,557. The N14,000 is made of N4,000 for transcript and N10,000 courier charge. So, no extra fee.
Hope this helps.

Michelllo, thanks for your input. Lasu has responded to the verification! I checked profile this morning and noticed a status change - now "Documents received, review in progress".

For future Lasu applicants, In my opinion using my request as reference, you actually don't need to visit the school to follow up your transcript request and verification response. Transcript got to WES three weeks from request day while verification response got acknowledged within two weeks. I never got to the school nor called anyone.

I'm quiet impressed with Lasu.

Shalom.

POF has to be (preferably) in PA name, PA spouse name or joint account of both PA and Spouse. You cannot use any other joint account asides that with your spouse. So, your joint account with your dad will not work. "ko le werk".
Answer to your second question lies in page 0... CAD 12,164 (or slightly higher if it has been upgraded).
Cheriesparkle:
Good evening house.
Thanks to those who replied my post earlier. I am really grateful.
I have a question that has been bothering me.
Some years ago while i was applying for my Post Study work visa in the UK, i had to add my name to my dad's account. So its a joint account with both our names

Can i use this same account as my POF as both of our name appears on the account? It is a fixed deposit account. I am the only one applying for EE as my dad is not applying with me.

How much is required to show for a single applicant as POF?

Please help with all your answers. Plenty thanks.

Hello House, please help with below query from luciano80 as I have a similar case to deal with.

My passport has my middle name "promoted" to be my first name, while first name was not just relegated to middle name but prefix in the name was also removed!. All other documents have the right order (with the prefix to my first name).

I have read on this thread that arrangement of names matters not, but the absence of my prefix sometimes rattles me. What can be done to the missing letter(s)?
luciano80:
Hello house. I read this forum religiously to know every info needed....and it has really been helpful. But I have a rather bothering case which I think is kinda peculiar to me. My wife is the PA. All her documents has her first name Chiamakam but while doing her passport five years ago, it was done as Chiamaka. Only noticed this while preparing to jump in the EE Pool. We already did an affidavit for the change of name by marriage. What can we do about the absence of the "m" in the passport name? Will another affidavit suffice?
Pls help..... Any and every comment, yab, diss is very much welcomed as this point.
Thanks

Good morning house,
Can anyone who recently had WES assess LASU’s degree help with a few concerns of mine. WES has sent for verification but profile has been static for about a week, in my enquiry to see how long it takes LASU to respond, I came across claims that a N10,000 payment to LASU is required for the verification – this I read on earlier pages of this thread (the discussions were about a year ago). My question thus, is this payment still applicable? If yes, how much is it at present and how do I make the payment?

I will advise that you go to their office if you can make out time... They hardly reply emails promptly and their phones are practically never answered.
Dammiehar:
There is nothing to worry about, if you made an online transfer, you can attach the payment screenshot or receipt and send it via email. They will work on it. You can also call them after sending the email. That was what happened to me when I made payment for mine, mine was even cancelled, so even if it is cancelled, they will fix it once they receive the confirmation from you.
Thank you both. I received the confirmatory mail a short while back! Thank you.

People of God, does British Council confirm payment for IELTS? If yes, how long does it take to receive the confirmatory mail?
I made payment two days ago and sent the required mail same day, yet my registration status still reads "processing". Do i have course to worry as the one week payment window will elapse by Friday?.

Thanks bro.

For question no 5: It can be terminated, it is just that terminating it is not as easy as terminating fixed deposit. It is always better to leave it till maturity.

Corrections taken miella, and I just made another post still stating it cannot be terminated. Thanks for this!

This is so informative. Thanks for taking your time to break it down the way you have. Please I will appreciate your response to the questions below:

1. Is TBill acceptable as PoF?
2. Does fixing it for longer guarantee more interest?
3. Is the interest paid into my account from day one or is it added to the capital?
1.) from my research thus far, t-bills is acceptable. I actually intend using t-bills.
2.) yes, longer tenors guarantee higher return. But the tenors are 91days, 182days, 365days... So apart from 91days (3 months) being the least, next you can opt for is 182days (6 months). Remember you cannot terminate like FD, so if you go for the 6 months, your money is locked and unaccessible for the entire 6 months.
Presently, 91days is at about 13.5%, 182day at 17.2%, 365days at 18.8%. These rates are at per annum so remember to prorate just like FD.
3.)the interest is paid into your account on day one. It's automated, you get the interest credited just after you are debited for the t-bills.
For FD, you get principal and interest creditted on day 91 (assuming you did 3 months tenor), but for t-bills, you get interest on day 1 and principal on day 91. You have full access to your interest as it is paid.

The whole essence of t-bills is citizens borrowing FG money, in effect, it's actually FG mopping up money in circulation as you do not have access to that money (your invested amount) for the period of your investment, but the interest is good (and you have access to this from day one)

Can anyone pls explain what treasury bill is and how it works to me? Pls also help answer d questions below:

1. Does it have minimum deposit/amount, if yes, how much?
2. Can I always get/buy it anytime I wish?
3. Where/How do I get it?
4. What's d duration (minimum and maximum), is it(duration) fixed or I decide?
5. After dealing, can it be terminated anytime even before d due date if I need money?
6. Does it work like shares which is subject to profit/loss or like FD which guarantees profit?
7. If it's like FD, what's d interest rate? Is d rate fixed bankwide or varies across banks?

Make una no vex say d question plenty small o. Since it's allowed as POF, just thinking about it ni.
Hello bigbroda, let me make an attempt at your questions.

1.) it depends on your bank, I think some have minimum amount as low as N100,000. But any amount you wish to invest must be in multiple of N10,000.

2.) you can request at anytime but bids for treasury bills are done every two weeks, so if you request say some days after the last bid, you'd have to wait for the next one that comes two weeks after the last. You can however place your request at any point. Your account would only be debited I think a day to when the treasury bill will be booked.

3.) go to your bank and tell their customer service representative you want to invest in treasury bills, you'd be given a form and advised on rate and the next bid date (usually within two weeks). Rate is usually higher than FD rates. In the past months, it's been around 13.5% (for 91days)

4.) minimum duration is 91days, not sure of maximum

5.) it cannot be terminated. (but I think it's transferable)

6.) it works like FD with a set return rate, but unlike FD that you get paid your principal and interest at the last day, for T-bills you actually get paid your interest on the 1st day. That is, say you invest N1m for 91days. You'd be debited N1m on the day of bid and credited your interest same day, then on maturity, you get your N1m credited.

7.) rate slightly varies across banks say +/- 0.05 percent. So, bank A might offer you 13.5% while bank B might offer at 13.45% while another offers 13.53%. Slight variation across bank as there is a set rate from FG, the variation is where the banks makes their spread.

However, from personal experience, I have realized FCMB as better rates compared to FBN and GTB per time (for same range of amount) even for FD. You'd be shocked to find 8% at FCMB and 5% at GTB, 5.5% at FBN for FD.

Disclaimer: please choose bank at your discretion!

I hope this helps, others can weigh in for better response
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by Kontagious(m):
I hope this helps you and others requesting for transcript from unilag.

I was trying to pay for the transcript Yesterday, but got the error message, after several failed attempts and considering payment needs to be made, I decided to take a quick stop in school (Records and Transcript). I thought there has to be another way of paying other than the platform which was down.

On getting to records office, I was denied access by security personnel, man kept saying the platform is down and it affects the whole school (apparently, all payments in unilag goes through remita, so, it wasn't just transcript that got affected but all sorts of payment).

After much persistence, I was allowed into the records office - room 163, where I was told to raise a bank draft to the tune of applicable amount in favour of Unilag, then bring the draft back to the record office. This I was able to do within 30 minutes.

After getting back to the records office, I was asked if I brought along hard copies of the application, that is, the print out of the transcript application form, WES request form and whatever I deemed fit. I only went for a short stop so I was without any of these documents but all could be gotten within a short time.

To cut the story short, I got the documents and submitted hard copies. I was able to complete the online application as well, as it was scanned copy of the bank draft I uploaded.

In all, what you need do is to raise a bank draft in favor of University of Lagos, then take the draft to room 163 in Senate.

PS: This is only applicable pending functionality of the etranzact/remita platform. You'd be required to write your name, matrix number and course at the back of the bank draft.

philip3:
cheers.
finally contacted someone and was told their website is down and the whole process needs to be done online.
How long did yours take before it got to WES?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by Kontagious(m): 12:20pm On May 17, 2017
I've been to their websites, both stated documents sent without stating the reference number on envelops will not be treated.

My concern isn't about getting the reference number as I know it would be gotten when the application is submitted, but rather, how to make the schools quote the number when sending the transcript. LordSebastian has cleared me on Unilag while Dammiehar cleared Lasu.

Apologies to all for taking up space, I just don't know how to do multiple quotes.

optionese:
What reference number are you talking about? Go to the various websites and see their requirements.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by Kontagious(m): 12:16pm On May 17, 2017
Thank you for the pointers Dammiehar!

Dammiehar:
I think the one for Unilag has been answered, for Lasu I helped my sister to apply for her own. We applied through the online portal and made the payment of 14,000 through Quickteller. You would have filled all required information as needed. They did not process it on time, so I had to send someone there, even after that they sent it to USA instead of Canada, when Canada was clearly written on the online application form. We are still going through the trouble of having it sent back to naija, so that it can be resent to Canada, so you might want to watch out for that. As for IQAS, you will get the reference number after submitting your online application on the IQAS website, that is after you have made payment. A copy of the academic request form that will be filled by your university and sent with your transcripts will also be sent to your email. You will just have to go there with it I think.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by Kontagious(m): 12:15pm On May 17, 2017
Much appreciated LordSebastain. This is helpful. Thank you.

LordSebastian:
Bruv, no additional cost is required for that Unilag thingy. Once u make the payment at the bank, you send them an e-mail with attachments of the teller and the form you download (filled form by you) from the Transcript Request portal. You have the option of choosing courier or post. Unilag charges you for the processing of the transcript which I think is N2,000 or so and then additional cost for courier or post. I remember paying about N19,000 all together because I chose courier.

Also, you will be requested to fill the address you want the transcript sent to on the form you download from the Transcript Request portal. It is there you get to fill the WES Reference number along with the address.

I know nothing about IQAS. Other maybe able to help you...but I suspect the process should not be that different.

Can someone please help outline process of having transcript sent from Unilag and/or Lasu to WES or IQAS.

I understand Unilag does online request for transcript, does this mean additional cost to fee paid to either WES or IQAS?

Considering I do not have full control of what the schools sends to the institutions, how do I work around reference number both WES and IQAS are asking to be written on packages sent to them?

Anyone in the know should please help. Please

Just to let you and @obitee69 know that you can now do change of name in Lagos, though you have to wait a little bit longer than the usual renewal or new issuance waiting period. I don't know about the other states but for Lagos passport offices (Ikeja, Festal and Ikoyi), the change of name is done without you having to leave Lagos.
PS: Just in case the quote does not come out right, this is my first quote here, I hope I get it right though

Hello great people of this thread, wonderful insights here.

I started following the thread a couple of days back, I've read a few pages from start (and some from the end). I can say I have a fair knowledge of the process and what's needed, but I still have a couple of ECA related questions... I'd appreciate a great deal if I get concise answers to these questions.

1.) I intend using WES, so I went through the application page just to familiarize with the requirements... On the 1st page of application, do I choose Canada or CIC?

2.) Still on WES... At the recipient's address, can I use P. O. Box? Or it's advisable I use home address. I think I read somewhere where it was advised not to use P. O. Box(i can't fully recollect this though).

3.) For delivery mode, is it safe to choose standard delivery? considering there's about $80 difference from courier. That's about $160 for two persons. I don't mind the time difference considering our passports are not available at the moment.

4.) Can anyone who's had qualifications from Unilag and Lasu accessed please give guidelines on how not to be hindered by either school, I mean the verification process. (I intend having my certificate and spouse's certificate accessed, hence the two schools).

I know I'd likely find answers to these questions in previous pages but reading through over 430 pages would take some days perhaps weeks to complete.

Gurus and good people in the house should please help. Thanks.
