Please don't say all these about the 'Best President Nigeria has ever had'. Nigeria is flowing with milk and honey. Americans are leaving their country in droves to set up shop in Naija. But for the fact that we cannot terminate the actions of the infallible Lord Luggard Nigeria's name ought to be changed to Eldorado. Ah, you can't see the transformation you say? Open your eyes, wake up - what you are currently observing is the dream. When you wake up, you will see the Eldorado eye-wide shut!!! Don't be misled by one useless Mr. Joel Brinkley. Bow down to the lord of transformation. That your sins may be forgiven. Join the 40 laptops. That Naira may fill your pocket in abundance. henryskywalker2003: You and the 39 fools/idiots that liked ur comment are part of the reason this country will remain in the dark ages. Let me ask u fools/idiots a simple question. How long was President Sirleaf in power before the country turned around. Let me save u fools a bit of google search. She has been the president of Liberia since right after their SECOND CIVIL WAR. You fools talk about GEJ's humility and trash like that. Can GEJ agree 2 leave the safety of Aso Rock and govern from his house in the creeks? When the presidential mansion of Liberia got burnt just less than a year, after she was elected, this Lady deferred any diverting of funds to fix the palace and placed it low on their priority list and relocated her office to another ministry's building nearby and also relocated to her personal house. Can u imagine gej going to the office everyday from a location probably far from his office just after coming out from a civil war? She secured debt relief for her country few years after the war, she has once sacked her entire cabinet and replaced them with totally new people because of corruption, unlike ur beloved gej who knows how to reshuffle old hands. Even her brother who was a minister was not spared when allegations of missing funds was levelled against him and was subsequently sacked and yet another was sacked just because $200,000 went missing from his ministry meanwhile over here, we see cases of people stealing billions and still walk freely and ur gej promised us zero tolerance on corruption. Among her other achievements she was named among the tope 10 female leaders by Time magazine 2010, 10 best leaders in the world by Newsweek in 2010, 51st most powerful person by Forbes in 2006 and The Economist called her the best president the country has ever had. Can u imagine, if gej continues on this his current path, what the above mentioned would write about him? Oh sorry, I forgot. Fools like u can't do that. So, let me ask u fools one more time. Is it when gej has spent 3terms in office before it is ok for him to start doing something about the country and people can then question his actions? Or is it when we go through a 2nd civil war? Or probably after another military take over. Please help me understand why a woman is actually doing beta than this clueless fellow when all odds are stacked against her.
P.S. Do you know that Liberia is having a steady power supply more than we are? This was achieved right after the war that destroyed most of their power infrastructure. |
Politics › Lagos Bomb House May Be Demolished - Ojora by koruji(op): 2:45am On Mar 26, 2013 |
"The traditional ruler stated that the building, where the suspects stayed belongs to the Bayelsa State government adding that he had begun efforts to make sure that the building was demolished." http://www.tribune.com.ng/news2013/index.php/en/news/item/8182-lagos-bomb-house-may-be-demolished-ojora Written by Olalekan Olabulo - Lagos Tuesday, 26 March 2013 00:00 font size Print Email
LAGOS State government may demolish a building in Ijora area of Lagos State where bombs and AK-47 rifles were set to have been recovered following moves by the traditional ruler of the area.
The building is said to be owned by the Bayelsa State government, a situation which is currently picthing the two states against each other.
The traditional ruler of Ijora, Oba Fatai Ojora, while speaking with newsmen, during a visit by Arewa leaders in Lagos on Monday condemned the activities of the perpetrators of the act, describing them as “ungrateful”.
The traditional ruler stated that the building, where the suspects stayed belongs to the Bayelsa State government adding that he had begun efforts to make sure that the building was demolished.
He warned members of the Boko Haram to stay away from Ijora and other parts of Lagos or be ready for the grave consequence that would follow such act.
Oba Ojora stated that the community escaped a catastrophe by sheer providence.
“The incident could have caused a great damage, it was prayer that saved us,” the traditional ruler stated.
The Seriki Hausa and the chairman of Arewa Council of Chiefs in Lagos State, Alhaji Sanni Kabir, described the incident as “very unfortunate” and urged the Seriki Hausa in all the Hausa communities to remain vigilant.
The Hausa leader said the leaders of the tribe in the state held an emergency meeting and dissociated themselves from the suspects.
Alhaji Kabir also urged the Hausa leaders to report any strange activity or face to the traditional ruler, who, in turn, would notify the security agencies. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/03/another-suspected-terrorists-hide-out-discovered-in-lagos/ Another suspected terrorists hide out discovered in Lagos on MARCH 26, 2013 · in NEWS 12:30 am 0 By Evelyn Usman
Fresh facts emerged, Monday, on the presence of more illegal aliens suspected to be terrorists in Ijora area of Lagos, as information at Vanguard’s disposal revealed that the suspects, who are Malians and Chadians, were occupying a three-storey building owned by a state government.
Last Thursday’s raid by the Department of State Security, DSS, and men of OP Messa, led to the arrest of two suspected terrorists and recovery of arms and explosives in a building on Aromire Street, Ijora.
File photo: TERROR ABODE—Residents at the building used as hideout by the suspects at Ijora, Lagos. However, investigations revealed that the three story-building alleged to be used by the suspected terrorists is also located on Aromire Street, Ijora, close to the house that was raided last week.
Monarch raises alarm Lagos monarch, Oba Fatai Oyeyinka Aremu, who spoke when traditional heads of major northern tribes resident in Lagos, led by the Seriki Hausa of Lagos State, Alhaji Sani Kadiri Garuba, visited him in his palace, said it would have been a case of the worse casualties in the history of bombings in the country.
He blamed the government that owns the building for the development. The monarch said: “You see, this problem comes from the state government that owns that property. If you go to the house in Ijora, you will see all these Malians there.
“They are squatters and we have written to the state government concerned several times without any response. Ask the Area Commander and the DPO, they will tell you. On our part, we are trying our best.”
Without mincing word, the monarch urged the Seriki Hausa of Lagos to call his people, particularly those in Ijora to order, saying “I am not happy with what happened because your people have been living with us here since. I have been here since 1994 and this kind of thing had never happened.
“We have been taking your people as brothers and sisters. You don’t have to turn back and do this kind of thing to us. Do something because I am not happy at all. Since that day (last Thursday), I have not been sleeping. Please, let this stop. I am giving them warning. Ijora is a no-go area for them.
“If they still remain in Ijora, I will flush them out, Insha Allah. They should not use Ijora as a base. Ijora is not a base for criminals. I do not tolerate nonsense. Please, I am giving them warning again, they should leave my domain. My domain is not meant for criminals. I am talking to you (Seriki).
“Please, call your men to order. Lagos is a no go area for bombings. These people referred to as Malians, Nigeriens live with your people. Please, talk to your Serikis.”
Seriki Arewa speaks Earlier, the Seriki Hausa and Chairman, council of Arewa chiefs in Lagos, explained that the purpose of the visit was to commiserate with Oba Oyeyinka on what he described as a sad incident, and to pledge the solidarity of northerners under the Arewa councils of chiefs as peace-loving people.
He said: “We will also like to seize this opportunity to emphasise that for intensive security in our nation, we appeal to the Federal Government to do more. Although it is trying its best to check the menace, we urge them to intensify and broaden their security scope, so that this kind of thing will never happen again.
“Lagos is a mini Nigeria and anything that happened to Lagos will affect the whole nation. Finally, I will like to also appeal to other agencies and nationalities with the state to be calm and patient as we continue to live in harmony with each other.”
93 suspects handed over to Immigration Meantime, a total of 93 illegal aliens were, yesterday, handed over to the Nigerian Immigration Service, Alagbon, Ikoyi, for onward prosecution.
The aliens, whose mission in the country could not be ascertained, were mainly Malians, Nigeriens and Chadians.
Their arrest followed a raid by joint security operatives following the discovery of a suspected terrorists’ hideout in Ijora area of Lagos, last Thursday.
Confirming the arrest, spokesman for the Nigeria Immigration Service, Mr. Muyiwa Odunubi, said the suspects would be paraded tomorrow by the Command.
He said: “I can confirm to you that we received 93 suspected Boko Haram members, who were handed over to us by the Police and other security agencies.” |

We are looking for people who can get things done, not conspirators who will come together to win elections and then disappear into the ether, failing to fulfill promises year-after-year-after-year. ichommy: A founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Tonye Graham Douglas has stated that the ruling party should not underrate the capability of the newly formed political group, the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2015 general elections
He gave the warning while addressing newsmen at his residence in Port Harcourt, Saturday, saying that it would be a herculean task for the APC or any other political party to beat the ruling PDP in the 2015 presidential election.
He said; “I do not take my opponents for granted. The PDP will be short-sighted if it underrates the merger. As a PDP stalwart, I know that it would be herculean for the merger to beat PDP in 2015. I have no doubt that PDP will come together and win in 2015.”
He stated that the newly formed party will not make any positive mark in the current political dispensation or in the future, considering that those behind the merger were personalities with un-identical political image.
“They have to do election, they have to choose a presidential candidate, they have to elect national officers, they have to choose regional officers, and they have to know the expenditure pattern and contribution of wealth. Presently, fine, one or two people are barons with a lot of money. He who plays the piper dictates the tune. When you look at these variables, you will agree with me that they cannot work together. They have not tested the test of time.”
APC, which is yet to be registered by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, comprises Action Congress of Nigeria,ACN), the All Nigeria Peoples Party,ANPP, the Congress for Progressive Change,CPC,and a faction of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.

And for your information I have disagreed here on NL with some of Fashola's policies. For example, I called for the Lagos State government to be sued to reverse what seems to be the draconian law prescribing a 1-year jail term for people caught driving opposite traffic, when they have not caused any accident. On the Lekki bridge my take is the need to make sure the fee is not excessive, and that there are alternative routes - which is what Fashola planned to do anyway. Below, you said the road was not ready - but I don't know where you are coming up with this stuff. The Lekki bridge is complete as far as I know - the only discussions are about tolling and alternative routes. Sincere 9gerian: @koruji... You pitched your tent with Fashola but you call those who pitched their tent with GEJ evil or insensitive?
Let me make it clear, those who decides to pitch their tent with GEJ saw the same thing you saw in Fashola.
You said Fashola created alternative routes but I thought that was basic and MANDATORY before tolling any road? You said he suspended collection of toll at the second gate, should govt collect toll when the road construction has not reached that gate? This is the dishonesty some of ACN supporters display here.
GEJ has reconsidered many of his decisions including the N5k note, reduction in fuel price, etc
You also said "if a president is fond of name-calling or insulting Nigerians by words or deeds - and expect not to be called names then he needs his head re-examined too"
Can you give us instances (direct quotes from the president) when such happened?
You also wrote"Finally, your 4 points for"HATERS" hating are your own contrived reasons. Those who are pissed at President GEJ, andI think you & GEJ in your honesthours, are aware of those genuine reasons"
Can you give us reasons why the HATERS have been abusing, cursing and calling the president names even as early as 1yr down the line in his tenure of 4yrs?
Is it because of rehabilitation of the Airports, building of cargo terminals at some select Airports? Rehabilitation of federal unity schools? The YOUWIN programme? The recruitment of 5,000 jobless persons per state per annum? The reconstruction of railways? Rehabilitation of several federal highways? The progress made so far in construction of second Niger bridge? The power reforms (privatisation and all that)? Payment of civil servants as and when due? Lack of ASUU strike in the last 2yrs or so? Creation of additional federal universities? Building of hundreds of Almajiri schools? Because of credible elections (that made your ACN secure 2 more states)? Revolution of the agric sector under the current minister? Etc etc. And all of these in less than 2yrs.
Why the abuses, insults and name calling if not for the four reasons adduced above?
If GEJ had increased fuel price, by what magic should the price of fuel remain stagnant while that of other commodities change every now and then? How many times did OBJ increase fuel price? The recently elected govt of Ghana also increased fuel price and heavens did not fall. Almost every govt in the past increased fuel price so why should GEJ be killed because he increased fuel price? If you read the recent book of spokesperson of Yar Adua, Olusegun Adeniyi, you'll discover the Yar Adua was to totally deregulate the down stream sector 2 before he took ill. While doing that, he did not consult any body, neither did he tell us what the govt will use additional funds for fuel price increase for? See the quote below:
"it ws d reduction of d pump price of fuel from #65 to #60 dat triggered d increase in subsidy payments. Yar'adua used dat reduction to gain some level of legitimacy, following wide condemnations dat trailed hs election. D FIFA under 17 world cup in Nigeria in 2009 preventd yar'adua from total removal of subsidy cos he didnt want Nigerians to protest while we had foreigners in our midst. He travelled 2 saudi 2days b4 d policy could be effectd & never came back" (olusegun adeniyi - politics, power n death)
Some persons think they can deceive us with that word "alarming rate of corruption" again. Politics › Re: The Reasons Haters Hate President Jonathan by koruji(m): 7:37pm On Mar 24, 2013 |
I will only comment briefly on only one of the things you listed below. As I have said before there was hope that GEJ would be a different kind of president, given the kind of background he regaled Nigerians with before his election. Instead, the man went into Aso Rock and emerged as a cold, calculating run-of-the-mill politician. The fuel subsidy issue demonstrated the kind of president GEJ is very well. The argument which I and many others presented to him before he went ahead with that disastrous policy was not that we don't need to remove subsidies, but that many issues have to be dealt with first. Instead of listening to reason, our man in Abuja kept telling us fibs, such as "I will not impose hardship on Nigerians", "We will not remove the subsidy now", and the classic one, "I am battle-ready". Mrs. NGO openly said to us that the subsidy would not be removed until April of 2012, only for Mr. GEJ to destroy the new year celebrations by presenting his countrymen whom he "loves" so much and will never "impose hardship" on with a massive increase in the price of an essential commodity on that day of the year. Let me tell you, many Nigerians will never forgive GEJ for that singular act of cold, calculating callousness. And one of the most dishonorable acts was to come up with the SURE-P program, half of which consists of what should be regularly covered under the multi-trillion Naira FG budget, and 1/4 of hair-brained schemes. Acting like an emperor of a banana republic he released this document without discussion, and in a format that makes it impossible to reproduce by ordinary readers. In there was a policy that GEJ lifted verbatim from an ACN governor, Aregbesola i.e. the OYES program. The man is now going around distributing money to his many supporters and pretending that he is creating OYES-like jobs across the federation. What was really surprising was that before lifting this policy GEJ's then-mouthpiece, Beaf, could not have enough of ridiculing that policy calling anybody that say one word against GEJ's policies all sorts of names filled with innumerable lies, such as "Aregbesola is borrowing N50 billion to cut grass". And coming to the issue of names, GEJ opened the salvo by calling ACN SW governors "rascals" and he got what he deserved by being called a "drunken-fisherman" by Tinubu. Before that first name-calling by GEJ nobody was calling people names on NL other than Beaf who use to describe northerners as grass-eating abokis, and telling them that GEJ will cut them lose in the desert - so if you are wondering why GEJ gets insulted so much there you have it - but I am sure you already know that. Look, you can always find yourself wriggle room but nothing short of a make-over is going to rescue GEJ from the missed opportunities over these last two years. That is the simple truth. Sincere 9gerian: @koruji... You pitched your tent with Fashola but you call those who pitched their tent with GEJ evil or insensitive?

You are obviously a glib tongue. It think those who read my post can form a clear contrast in their own mind. You bring up Fashola. Good example indeed. Fashola has stood firm on some policies that some disagreed with e.g. Okada and the LASU school fees. But for you to say that Fashola did not reconsider any policies is plane ignorant. On the Lekki toll gate I am in agreement with the need to collect appropriate fees as needed to recover the funds that went into building the bridge. However, Fashola indeed suspended the collection of tolls at the 2nd gate: http://pmnewsnigeria.com/2012/12/14/xmas-gift-lagos-stops-tolling-at-second-lekki-toll-gate/. He also made available alternative routes for those who would rather not pay for the convenience of the Lekki bridge. http://pmnewsnigeria.com/2012/12/06/lekki-tollgate-second-alternative-road-ready-lasg/. I think this is more than enough concession. Even when Fashola had to stay firm on a policy, you will not find him calling his people names and dividing them into haters and lovers or telling us fibs. I don't see government officials as infallible, but recognize those who know what they are doing when I see it. If a president is fond of name-calling or insulting Nigerians by words or deeds - and expect not to be called names then he needs his head re-examined too. Presidents are always going to be called names - it doesn't matter how good they are. What I can't wrap my head around is the image President GEJ and his mouthpieces keep pushing in the media. It is the image of a would-be leader brooding over being called names, and then going about his business of administration with revenge for such name-calling in his mind. That my friend is not a leader, can never be a leader - hence I say to you such a person is not really a president. Finally, your 4 points for "HATERS" hating are your own contrived reasons. Those who are pissed at President GEJ, and I think you & GEJ in your honest hours, are aware of those genuine reasons. You are welcomed to continue praising yourselves even as half of the country burns - it is your prerogative. I don't care about the rest of your excuses either. Sincere 9gerian: Anothe rant of a hater.
You started by stating "a president who divides his countrymen into haters and lovers..."
POINT OF CORRECTION: none of the four (4) points highlighted about is the doing of our president. It is not his fault that some haters are behaving badly because they LOST an election. It is not our president's fault that certain haters feel the ONLY way they can win in 2015 is by ferociously insulting, abusing and calling our president names. It is not the president's fault that some persons hate him because of differences in religion and ethnicity. Neither is it his fault that some haters hate him because they childishly want to be proved they voted right in 2011.
You wrote " a REAL PRESIDENT has to face and take criticism from his countrymen equanimously"
Well if you consider abuses, insults and name calling criticisms, then you should hav your head re-examined.
You also stated "This man would not dare look his countrymen in the eyes and lie, would come out and face questioning for his policies, would respond with explanations to criticism, wouldgo back and reconsider his policies where his countrymen have a point"
Well, I wonder how many times your hero, Fashola, had to "reconsider his policies". Obviously, he didnt rconsider his policy to increase LASU school fees from N25,000 to N250,000, despite the protest by students. He didnt "reconsider his policies" on the issue of Lekki toll gate despite all protest. Not even a reduction in the toll fees was considered.
You said the president lied. Well, what you consider a lie maybe true or mistake to some persons. The word lie is very subjective. The president said power has improved on CNN. Well I recall Channelstv did a poll recently on the issue of whether power has improved or not. Though the coverage of Channelstv is lopsided (mainly southwest, with significant numbers of haters), about 30% admitted to improved power supply, which tallied with what the president said. Assuming the poll, plus or minus, represents the situation all over the country, If the tenure of the govt has not gone half way, and about 30% of Nigerians have seen improved power supply, it means before he completes his 4yr tenure, atleast 80% of Nigerians would see improved power supply.
I also know the president once erroneously quoted Transparency International on the issue of fight against corruption. The presidency later explained that they got that information from a national daily. If you call it a lie, some others may see it as a mistake. The presidency is occupied by human beings and all humans are prone to making mistakes. |

You guys need to educate yourselves. Fraternities are not supposed to be any kind of "evil" cults. It is all over the United States colleges - and are guys or girls that group together. Although they are known for hazing new entrants, that is frowned upon these days. And even hazing doesn't involve the kind of evil being perpetrated in Nigerian schools. It is like us in Nigeria to take something with noble intentions and transform it into bad outcomes. This is basically the story of fraternities in Nigeria - its evil bent these days has nothing to do with Baba Kogi. Same story with our democracy: that our so-called democracy is really a "lootocracy" doesn't mean that we blame those who came up with the noble idea of a "government of the people by the people and for the people". hrykanu231: Good looks bad intentions... A president who divides his countrymen into haters and lovers is not a president - word! Unless you consider yourself god, as one of the mouthpieces once said of GEJ here on NL, a REAL PRESIDENT has to face and take criticism from his countrymen equanimously. There is a man who rules the greatest country in the world, and is doing a wonderful job. This man would not dare look his countrymen in the eyes and lie, would come out and face questioning for his policies, would respond with explanations to criticism, would go back and reconsider his policies where his countrymen have a point, and even when he believes himself to be right would not resort to pedestrian utterances to press home his point. When any section of his country is under distress, whether from a great accident, severe weather or any kind of disaster his response becomes a test of his ability to lead and he brings the nation together with wise utterances, and actions. He rules the richest nation on the face of the earth, yet makes less money than GEJ, strictly separating his personal funds from his official funds. His wife is not attempting to construct a $4 billion edifice to avarice when countrymen are without water or electricity, and the police force is in shambles. He is the true servant of the people. We all know this man of the people. Now, let's compare...but why would I waste by breath? For I am a mere HATER!!! Let me just say that GEJ has nobody to blame but himself. He can continue to use his position anyway he wants, but he or you have no say in our reactions to his actions or inactions. If you people can't live with that then I know a river that would be glad to admit you as residents - jump in quick. Hug a transformer or eat rat poison - who f$%%#@#king cares!!! Even if someone is new to NL, they are not new to Nigeria - the lack clothes on the emperor is known worldwide, not just Nigeria or NL. You people should be glad that Nigerians have tired of the military - your ass.es would be wiping floors in a cell somewhere by now for all this earth-shattering nonsense coming out of Aso Rock each day. Yet, that does not mean that this can go on forever - 2015 is the limit. We have resolved to abstain from calling in the calvary, but the peaceful overthrow that 2015 affords will come to pass whether you like it or not. Sincere 9gerian: Some persons who are new on NL would be wondering why HATERS (losers at the 2011 elections) have consistently being abusing, cursing and calling our president all sorts of derogatory names.
Well, after critical analysis of the activities of the HATERS, I arrived at the following as the reasons the HATERS hate our president:
1) The HATERS are losers. They pitched their tent with various opposition presidential candidates during the 2011 elections and lost WOEFULLY. The INJURIES sustained from that humiliating DEFEAT is causing some of the HATERS to behave BADLY. See the views of many of them in the thread below https://www.nairaland.com/638748/why-youll-never-vote-goodluck
2) The HATERS do not want to be proved WRONG. This sounds petty but it is TRUE. Many of the HATERS are battling tooth and nail to PROVE that they made the right decision by not voting for GEJ in 2011.
3) Ethnoreliguous sentiments at play. Some of the HATERS actually feel that the position occupied by GEJ belongs, by birth, to someone from their own religuous or ethnic inclination. For such persons, no matter what GEJ does, it is abuses, cursing and more abuses.
4) Politics of 2015 elections. Some of the HATERS think they can score cheap political points through sustained campaign of abuses, insults and name calling. They hope that will give Tinubu's APC an edge in 2015.
However, irrespective of the motives of the haters, their campaign of abuses, cursing and insults is dead on arrival. The haters are losers. Once a loser, always a LOSER!!! |

Politics › Osun To Save N8.2b Annually Through Opon Imo by koruji(op): 2:49am On Mar 21, 2013 |
http://thenationonlineng.net/new/news/osun-to-save-n8-2b-annually-through-opon-imo/ Posted by: Adesoji Adeniyi on March 21, 2013 The Osun State Government will be saving N8.2 billion annually through the distribution of the Opon Imo (Tablet of Knowledge) to pupils. Instead of spending the fund on the purchase of books, the government will spend only about N200 million on Opon Imo. Governor Rauf Aregbesola made this known yesterday while distributing educational materials worth N30 million to scools at the multi-purpose hall of the Local Government Service Commission. The materials include 10,000 daily attendance registers, 11,600 school record diaries, 150,000 continuous assessment report cards for Junior Secondary Schools and 145,000 continuous assessment report cards for Senior Secondary Schools. Others are 7,000 white chalks, 70,000 cumulative record folders, 7,000 chalk board renovators and 30,000 chalk board dusters. The governor said with the downloading of 56 textbooks on 17 subjects into the Opon Imo, pupils only have to carry a digital device about, adding that this makes learning easier. Instead of being criticised for spending N200 million on Opon Imo, he said his administration should be praised for the initiative. He said about 150,000 tablets are to be distributed to pupils across the state. Aregbesola said his administration is investing huge funds in education to instil a minimum level of value in every public school pupil. He said: “Were we to buy 56 textbooks for 17 subjects offered in Senior Secondary Schools for 150,000 pupils. Over N8.4 billion would have been spent annually as against the N200 million expended on Opon Imo. “Instead of being praised for God’s endowed ingenuity and wisdom, which gave birth to the Opon Imo initiative, some people prefer to demonstrate their ignorance. They are grandstanding and claiming what they are not.” The governor described the score card of the last administration in the education sector in its 90 months in office as a far cry from his administration’s achievements in 27 months. He warned teachers against sharp practices in the distribution and utilisation of the materials and urged parents to monitor their children. |

Double wahala for dead PDP and the mouthpieces of dead PDP. Yeye dey smell like head of dead fish. Sincere 9gerian: You should rather be ashamed that your "performing party" cannot complete the railway project, that ought to have been completed in the 80s, after 14 SOLID years of ruling Lagos. It is even worse that after 14yrs the govt is talking about completing first phase? What about other phases? Even the first phase has not been completed.
This same pictures have been posted over and over again. The Op did not ask for old pictures (the same pictures that made front page several times early this year) but for UPDATES.
Fashola should complete this laudable project as soon as possible. The 14yrs wait is disgraceful |

Hehehehehehehehehe...it is a laugh riot. Blindness of the mind is worse than blindness of the eyes!!! Sincere 9gerian: FG is not state govt that lack effective legislature to serve as checks on what the executive does. The FG is being policed by a vibrant national assembly. In that NASS, the opposition are as vociferous as ever. Some members of the current NASS are forever looking for things to use in embarrassing the executive. No over-inflated contract will just sail thru like you just insinuated. |

Imagine that - Akpabio has not even contested the presidency, yet he is already ordering around his own party and insulting them. I recall now that it is this same puruntu Akpabio who said that the opposition is like a virus, and that they will be expelled from Akwa Ibom like viruses. Akpabio is a rogue. Like a horse, his brain relative to his brawn is disproportionately small, and he is given to anger. He could have slapped Uduaghan in that hall, if the latter was nearby!!! This would be the fourth shocking act by Akpabio in about a week. First, it was Nigeria winning 2 world cups after GEJ. Then it was two prado jeeps for those who don't need it. Then it was a million-dollar bullet proof car. Now, the man is virtually striking his fellow governors. |

Your post just proved me right in my assessment of you. Why did you go to wikipedia to read up about Awolowo, and then came here to talk about Zik's MA degree while stopping the description of Awo's education qualifications at "a product of night school". You and I know that the degree he obtained, even as a night/external student is way above MA. However, when we say that Pa Awo stood head and shoulders above his peers it is not because of his educational attainment, but because of the educational attainment of his people under his watch. The man left an enduring legacy in a few years of administering the SW that his name continues to revertebrate across Nigeria even today. Zik was named "the great" for a reason, he was a great man in his own right and I will never willingly tarnish his name. But many of you today show us that you neither value Zik's hard work, behaving like untaught individuals because of sad events that happened decades ago. You are welcomed to continue casting aspersions on the person of our great sage, Pa Awo - keep tormenting yourself. That attitude is the same reason why Zik's mausoleum lies desolate while you act like mad dogs wow...wow..wow..wow...wow at the mention of Pa Awo's name. You scorn a man who's resting place is a place of pilgrimage for his people. You deserve pity. kettykin: If publishing the truth means being tormented then you still have not weaned your self of the Awolowo failed educational syndrome
Who were his peers ? , the last time i checked Zik had a masters Degree from University of Pennsylvania a private ivy league he worked in treasury, police force , a lecturer and author, writer, journalist, sports correspondent , Editor in chief and CEO of a publishing Company. He also played college football.
ZIKS
Awolowo was a product of Night School which is not surprising to me he was also a secretary of Nigerian Motor Transport Union the parent body of NURTW which produced the types of Tokyo and the other extortionist parading the streets of Ibadan and Lagos.
He was an active journalist and trade unionist as a young man, editing The Nigerian Worker amongst other publications while also organizing the Nigerian Produce Traders Association and serving as secretary of the Nigerian Motor Transport Union AWOLOWO |

And this is what your great education turned your brain into - a tormented soul. Your grandfather probably could not count ABC yet here you are talking crap about a man who stood heads and shoulders above his peers. Go figure. kettykin: What Kind of abnormal and Dysfunctional Educational system, the type that produced obafaiye Shem Shame who was even deployed to a front line state by another product of Awolowo cheap and unprofitable educational system .
A close look at the harm these flawed Awolowo Educational system has wrought on Nigeria and wrought on the Economy shows that even the companies that he got through the infamous Indigenisation decree have all failed and closed down.
Establishments like the Ajaokuta Steel , Nigerian Airways , Nepa, which would have enabled Nigeria to really play a giant role in Africa Economy are failed Venture because of Kleptomaniacs produced by a Dysfunctional Education system foisted on the Western Region by Awolowo |

Politics › Re: Obasanjo Shuns PDP Peace Meeting Again by koruji(m): 7:02am On Mar 17, 2013 |
You need to stop talking with your mouth so full ..of GEJ's breastmilk I just do not understand the penchant of GEJ and his clowns for self-deceit. tomakint: Coming down to the 4th Republic {since IBB aborted the 3rd Republic of National Republican Convention (NRC) and Social Democratic Party (SDP) of 1991} it must be observed that the Peoples Democratic Party under a Jonathan government is quite different from the Obasanjo-led government where it has to be a do-and-die affair. In the First and Second Republic, two northerners (Tafawa Balewa and Shagari held sway) and were clearly seen as being one-sided, inept and visionless hence the need for the changes that aborted both Republic. This is not the case in Jonathan’s case, his administration has taken it upon itself to execute as many people-oriented policies as possible and even with two years into his government he has shown some political sagacity as a promising government that will deliver at the end of his first term! No matter how hard the oppositions try to hit the camp of Jonathan with propaganda, it is still crystal clear that he (Ebele Goodluck Jonathan) will still carry the day. By 2015, there is every tendency that Nigerians will yearn for JONATHAN again! |
