PoliticsRe: How Far With Our Troops In Mali ? by koruji(m): 7:51am On Mar 03, 2013
Thanks for your report.
However, while this shows Nigeria is doing something to conclude with the phrase "Our country nigeria is great" is sad.

First, why would write "Nigeria" as "nigeria".

Second, what does greatness mean for you - because what you described is a pitiance when compared to what Nigeria should be!!!

Henry120: Like I said our airforce have began operations in mali. Here are photos to prove.

Now as regards logistics 2 nigerian C-130 planes have been deployed to lift our heavy equipment. The british are also assisting nigerian in lifting our heavy equipments to mali. All in all, nigeria has 3 transport planes in mali, 2 C-130 stretch variants and 1 G222. We have 3 C-130's currently in service while 3 others are undergoing upgrades in europe to be delivered later this month. Of the 3 in service, 2 are in mali, while 1 is on permanent presidential duties, ferrying the presidents personal car and other logistics.

Our country nigeria is great
PoliticsRe: This Land- Celebrating 100 Years Of Nigeria ( Official Centenary Theme Song) by koruji(m): 5:35am On Mar 03, 2013
Nobody is disputing this observation.
The real problem is that this kind of mindless celebration is the reason why the true value of our diversity will not be realized.
There is no basis for celebrating the actions of a colonial master which in reality marked the full takeover of our land and resources for exploitation.
It his action was so noble and worthy of celebration then the fight for independence which came 46 years later was worthless.

This kind of celebration shows that the people we have at the top are thoughtless.
Nigerians one and all should curse the day Lord Lugard carried out this abomination, not celebrate it.

What do we call 2060 when it comes - a sub-centennial anniversary?

GEJ is the worst thing to happen toNigeria - I hope he gets deposed on Oct. 1 2014!!!

TheBookWorm: Nigeria's strength is within its diversity. If only the Nigerian populace and politicians could simply realize that.
PoliticsRe: Lagos Was Party To National Good Governance Tour Agreement by koruji(m): 7:11am On Mar 02, 2013
You can start by getting GEJ from lying to the nation at every turn. And stop going around the nation stealing projects that the FG had nothing to do with. Show us work on Lagos-Ibadan road or forever hold your peace.

dammytosh: God bless you. They see everything as fight between APC, OPC and PDP.

The nation can not move forward. Personally i don't give a hoot about any party. Present a credible candidate and i will vote for him.

We quickly condemn PDP yet, APC is extending hands of fellowship to acclaimed corrupt and clueless PDP Governors.

Who is deceiving who ?

What i see is that some people are desperate to have unrestricted access to the Presidency and will do anything to achieve that.
PoliticsRe: Lagos Was Party To National Good Governance Tour Agreement by koruji(m): 7:00am On Mar 02, 2013
This the exact reason for the tour being dishonorable. Lagos is the one expanding the road not the FG. The same FG who cannot even keep its roads in Lagos patched.

Awon ole osan gangan

myola: Thanks for your enlightenment. I would like to add that the much talk about badagri 8 Lanes is FG and world bank project against as ACN Want us to believes is lagos state project. The tour will expose a lots of such projects. It was not fashola and oshi that were talking, u are hearing from tinubu through them.
PoliticsRe: Lagos Was Party To National Good Governance Tour Agreement by koruji(m): 6:55am On Mar 02, 2013
Funny people. It is called retaliation.
Backstabing is what Maku did by using the tour for PDP/GEJ propaganda.
Angry retaliation is condemning the tour and tearing it up publicly - and just as well.

thelastPope: Nobody is forcing anyone! If the ACN governors had said "look, from what we have seen so far, we are not interested again and we will not fund it", it would have been a different story. The statements from ACN and its governors is that the whole thing was ill concieved and something they were never a party to. Its called backstabbing and deceit. Its called not keeping to your word and Fashola has shown that this is his character over time. Shame!
PoliticsRe: Boko Haram Or No Boko Haram The North Is Still Safer Than The South by koruji(m): 4:37am On Mar 02, 2013
Itan ra e ni je se kun owo yin bayi.

Even when there was no Boko Haram - crimes were just as bad in the north when you compare to the level of economic activities in the south.
This is just like when some study came out saying that x% of the bribery in Nigeria takes place in the south.
Of course. Did they forget that (x+y)% (x and y both greater than zero) of commerce that might involve bribery also take place down south.

Nigeria should be peaceful, both north and south.
Right now the north is in dire straits security-wise, and OP if you are a northerner you do the north a disservice by failing to see the potential for things to become completely disastrous up north.

Action to save the north is needed now, not regional jingoism.
The courage APC showed by walking publicly in Maiduguri is appreciated.
It shows the world that Nigeria can still work as a unit but there is work to be done. Real work.

sbaks: Despite the facts that there are islamic terrorists terrorizing the north, the north is still safer to stay or dwell in than the south for the following reasons
1. Kidnapping is not as rampant as it is in the south(of which daily people are being kidnapped)
2. Theft and armed robbery is so much less compared to the south where this is seen as normal. Im a yoruba boy, a christian but i tell u the truth i see the north as a place to enjoy the money uve worked for in lagos. If u go to places like zamfara, jigawa, sokoto, u will see shop owners leaving their shops open to attend to other issues of their lives without any fear of thieves stealing their goods.
3. The people here dont do jazz like the people in the south. 'If fact na we dey teach them sum of dis crazy tins'
boko haram i want to believe may be a politically motivated sect created to de-stabilize the peaceful north and still yet some areas are still as peaceful as amsterdam. Guys wat do u think? I may be wrong u knw[img][/img]
PoliticsRe: Maku Attacks Fashola, Says Lagos Governor Has “something To Hide” By Rejecting “ by koruji(m): 4:17am On Mar 02, 2013
This "GEJ democrats" are a curse on democracy.
You would think Fashola stopped him from going around Lagos with his silly jamboree.

There are only three things he should not expect:
1. No 10s of million Naira of Lagos taxpayer money for his already bloated pocket.
2. He must not expect to be able to around taking pictures or videos of Fashola's projects, and making it look like GEJ's
3. He must not expect Fashola to following him around on his jamboree trip.

Otherwise, Mr. Maku, welcome to Lagos.
And stop talking like you are some investigator.

truth4meal: The Good Governance Tour team said ACN governors have “something to hide.”
For the second time in one week, the Labaran Maku-led ‘Good Governance Tour’ team has hit out at a state governor who criticised the project.
On the occasion of his 2,100th day in office, Babatunde Fashola, the Lagos State Governor, had described the tour as “an attempt to appear busy” because the federal government “have no project to inspect.”
Mr. Fashola’s statement fell in line with his party man and Edo State counterpart, Adams Oshiomhole, who turned down the tour team’s request that the state provide feeding and accommodation “as agreed.”
In a statement, Friday, the team said it viewed the Lagos Governor’s utterance “with concern and deep regret” because the federal government has a huge stake in the governance of Lagos State.
“Governor Fashola should be appreciative of the Federal Government because far more than other states, the entire Lagos State like Abuja, runs on Federal Government infrastructure and services and Fashola knows that the Federal Government is doing a lot to keep Lagos State moving,” Samuel Ajayi, the Coordinator National, Good Governance Tour, said in the statement.
The Good Governance Tour, led by Mr. Maku, the Information Minister, began in September last year, with Abuja hosting the inaugural event.
With over 100 delegates comprising of state officials, journalist, civil groups, and nongovernmental organizations, the team intends to visit all states to highlight federal and state government projects.
However, the tour, which has seen Mr. Maku and his team visit 15 states across the North-central, South-East and the South-South Geo-political Zones, has continued to elicit criticisms from some Nigerians.
Something to hide
Last week, Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka, labelled the tour “a big scam.”
“I am happy that Oshiomhole told the leader of the Good Governance Tour, Labaran Maku, to go to hell,” said Mr. Soyinka, throwing his weight behind the Edo State Governor.
Both Messrs. Oshiomhole and Fashola belong to the opposition Action Congress of Nigeria.
Mr. Ajayi referred to this in the statement, insinuating that the governors have skeletons hidden.
“It is obvious that Governors of a certain partisan persuasion are nervous about the impending tour of their states,” the statement continued.
“This clearly demonstrates that they have something to hide. If not, why are they afraid of the tour of projects in their states?”
The statement further reiterated that the tour is non-partisan and that all the 36 state governors were part of the planning.
“It must be shocking to all who are familiar with how the Tour was conceived, and is being implemented, that it has taken Governor Fashola nearly six months to dissociate the Lagos State Government from the Tour,” the statement read.
“For the records, Lagos State was duly represented by the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, on the committee set up by the Nigeria’s Governors’ Forum, to ratify the template for the Tour.
“The final framework was approved by all state Governors without exception.”

MARCH 1, 2013 BY JOHN ALECHENU, ABUJA LEAVE A COMMENT

Opposition governors in the All Progressives Congress on Thursday held their third meeting in Maiduguri, Borno State, where they donated N200m to victims of Boko Haram atrocities.

The governors also visited a popular market destroyed by members of the sect.

The meeting, which was attended by Babatunde Fashola (Lagos), Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti), Tanko Al-Makura (Nasarwa), Rochas Okorocha (Imo), Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun), Rauf Aregbesola (Osun), Adams Oshiomhole (Edo), and deputy Governor of Yobe State, was to fine-tune strategies for a national campaign.

Our correspondent gathered, that the governors resolved to begin a national campaign to sensitise the public about the new party.

They also instructed individual parties to begin the process of ratifying the APC pact in line with the requirements of the Independent National Electoral Commission.

After the meeting, which lasted for a few hours, Aregbesola read their communique to reporters.

He said, “Rising from our meeting held in Maiduguri on February 28, 2013 and attended by Governors of Borno, Edo, Ekiti, Imo, Lagos, Nasarawa, Ogun, Osun, and Yobe and apologies from Governors of Zamfara and Oyo states,

“The forum reiterated our irrevocable commitment to the emergence of the new party, All Progressive Congress.

“In solidarity with the Government and people of Borno and Yobe states, we are pleased to witness an upsurge of tranquility and happy that the situation has calmed down considerably in Maiduguri.

“Contrary to the image of rampant violence that has been painted to the world, we have discovered the people going about their businesses without let or hindrance.

“We wish to commend the efforts of our brother-governors in the two states and the security agencies for the restoration of peace and stability.

“We also sympathise with the families of those who lost their lives and properties and wish to donate N200m to the two states for emergency relief and support.

“We wish to commend the Central Merger Committee of the APC on the progress so far made in the formation of the new party, particularly the recent inauguration of three major committees on Constitutions, Manifesto and Legal/INEC Compliance.

“Finally, we wish to inform Nigerians that we shall soon embark on a national outreach and sensitisation activities and we call on all Nigerians to support our effort to rescue our country from a visionless leadership.”

Governors entertained reporters by singing solidarity songs to reaffirm their political struggles.

In a brief remark, Oshiomhole explained that they were making individual contributions to assist the government and people of Borno and Yobe states, who have carried the burden of the devastation of the insurgency.

Aregbesola explained that the governors chose Maiduguri for the meeting because they wanted to share in the pains of the people and prove that leadership was about courage and decisiveness.

He stressed that there shouldn’t be a no-go-area for any leader that meant well for his people.

Aregbesola said Maiduguri was described as a no-go-area but that by their visit, the people outside now know that the situation was not as bad as people had painted it.

PoliticsRe: Lagos Was Party To National Good Governance Tour Agreement by koruji(m):
You guys need to use your heads.
Even if Fashola was in support of the the idea when it was proposed he has the right to back out, if necessary.

I remember how people were claiming ACN projects for GEJ here on NL.
I will give you evidence if you cannot find it yourself - it was Aregbesola's projects specifically that were claimed.

Now take the fact that Maku, GEJ's information Minister and a known liar/apologist for the PDP/FG, is the one running the show.
When you put 2 and 2 together you can see why ACN complained.
Maku was going around making projects look like FG projects.
Collecting pictures and videos for GEJ's 2015 propaganda campaign!

Besides, Maku was asking state governors for money to fund his "assessment" - money running into 10s of millions.
The nature of PDP, GEJ and all their apologists are open to all - ingrates and deceitful people.
You cannot hold any agreements with them and expect it to be fulfilled honorably.
I hope ACN has learnt its lesson.

And your own character, Mr. zeroPope, is very dishonorable.
All you know is Ego - what is your price?

thelastPope: The character of a man will always come to the fore no matter how much he pretends to be something else.
Fashola agreed to fuel subsidy removal and turned around and betrayed the agreement
Fashola used okada during his governorship campaign and turned on them after he became governor
Fashola had an agreement with doctors before the election and reneged after the election and went ahead and fired all 788 of them when they protested
Now again, Fashola agrees to good governance tour then turns around and betrays it again. Tells a lot about the man's character.

ypzilanti: Intelligent observers will have noticed the need for a strong opposition party in Nigeria. In the past two weeks, GEJ has started moving faster than before. Kudos to him for the small small action lately. Opposition should increase the threats. If anything Innoson is not happy that the FG is doling out bilions to buy foreign buses instead of purchasing from local manufacturers - how else are FG officials going to steal dollars?

samm_miey: First lady, Patience Jonathan said she’s not happy with those who are against the proposed N4b Mission House for African First Lady in Abuja. She said anyone condemning the the project is an enemy of the good efforts of wives of Presidents of African countries.

Speaking through her special assistant, Mr. Ayo Osinlu, Mrs Jonathan said:
“I can assure you, without any doubt that it is far from the desire of the first lady to have the project turned down. One, it will amount to an abdication of responsibility by Nigeria and that level of disappointment will be injurious for the leadership status of Nigeria in Africa. Certainly, the first lady will not expect Nigeria to behave in such a manner.
“Two, the first lady would not also want the project abandoned because it is an undertaking that the country has made to the continent. It means therefore that the credibility of Nigeria will drop significantly if it goes back on its deliberate and willing commitment to host such an organ for the continent and at the request of the continent.
“Africa First Ladies Mission give us a secretariat and you agreed that you will do it and then five years after, you wake up and say you don’t want to do it again. I don’t think that level of irresponsibility would be expected of Nigeria and the first lady won’t encourage that at all.”
Meanwhile, the Trade Union Congress have also joined those opposing the project. TUC said the building is a reflection of the flamboyant and extravagant lifestyles of the first lady.......source:The Nigeria Voice.

So Labaran Maku has to go on a jamboree for people to know what their government is doing?
This is a country where a whole president commissions electrification projects powered by gasoline generators.
So, what does these picture tell anyone.

It is sad that someone would see how Fashola reports on his projects and decided create a bastardized version of it.
Who is going to check those projects after Maku leaves town?
In contrast, the public can quickly tell us which of Fashola's projects are as reported - with constant updates.

If the FG government wants us to see its projects people there should take pictures and upload for all to see.
Does it mean there is nobody else that can take pictures of projects other than Maku and his 120 "estacode collecting travellers"?

This is a complete waste of time.
Imagine displaying the Innoson Motor Plant as part of the Good Governance showcase.

ROSSIKE: On the contrary, we ABSOLUTELY DO need a 'good governance tour' for the public to know about these projects, as the media is so terribly inept at reporting anything else apart from politics.

Fantastic images. Kudos to poster.

We really need to have good contest in Nigeria.
If Nigeria allows Mr. Transformation to get elected again after debating himself, we will have ourselves to blame.

Common sense, they say, is not common.

On the one hand, Maku not only accepted "expenses" from the government of Delta State, he was followed around by Uduaghan.
There and then Maku "praised" the massive development of Delta State.

On the other hand, Oshiomole has not stopped Maku from moving around the state.
And from writing any reports his team wants - but if they write falsehood they will hear it.

Are you people kids or do you simply consider Nigerians kids?
Do you really expect Maku to pronounce anything but "fantastic" on behalf of Uduaghan under those circumstances?
Even if Uduaghan did achieve something in Delta State the above conditions makes Maku's assessment null and void.

Oshiomole should be praised for NOT SEEKING to curry favor with the inspection team or seeking to "bribe" them with payment of their expenses.

But who am I kidding?

Sincere 9gerian: Reports reaching yours sincerely is that the Good Governance Tour Team (GGTT) Led by minister of information, Labaran Maku, stormed Edo state few hours ago.
The team arrived the state as part of its ongoing physical inspection of federal, state and local govt projects across the 36 states and FCT.

Reports has it that in keeping with its earlier opposition to the Good Governance Tour programme, the state governor, Adams Oshiomole, shunned the team. This is the first time a state govt is shunning the GGTT. Already, the GGTT have been to 14 states, including APGA and CPC controlled states. There are also reports that the state owned media organisation has been used to discredit the GGT programme prior to arrival of the team today.

Even without the support of state govt, the GGTT have proceeded to begin inspection of federal govt projects. Among projects slated for inspection today is the re-modelled Benin Airport, the re-construction of Benin-Ore road among other roads and facilities within the University of Benin Teaching Hospital. Inspection of other FG (and state if the governor changes his mind) projects will continue for 3 days after which the visit will, as usual, culminate in a Town Hall Meeting.

Aside from the five that were confirmed dead, ten victims are reportedly in critical condition from bullet pellets that pieced their bodies. A security source said that doctors in area hospitals were currently battling to save the lives of the injured.

One of the survivors disclosed that the sect members came on bikes chanting,“Allah Kubar,” then started firing at the group of people playing cards at an area called AngwanBagadaza. A security operative confirmed the incident.
Our correspondent learnt that people around the scene took to their heels on hearing the spatter of gunshots.

Several e

They also disclosed that the armed assailants escaped immediately after the attacks before the arrival of officers of the joint task force that patrols Gombe town. Huge success in your world is for an FG agent to come around checking work the FG has nothing to do with and asking the owners to pay for the trip.

You are the best man!!!

Vogue50: we all know about Governor Adams obstreperous tendencies since his days as Labour congress Leader , most times he clamours And stirs up a conventional mob reaction just to heat up the entire polity and become famous as well. This has earned him rise to fame to be a Governor of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The team has been to all the States in the North -central , South -east , Rivers state, Cross River State, Bayelsa State and presently Delta State. The Tour Team have been to 15states and also the FCT and non of the 15 Governor's complained of Maku's multi- million Naira proposal ? The governor of bayelsa was not present through out the Tour in his State and it was a Huge success.
This Moribund boisterous comedian is lying and should be ignored ! I can understand how quivering his lips will look if the entire nation finds out that he did waste a lot of Edo state resources on his re-electioneering! He can't run away from this because it's too late now , Edo is the only State remaining to Conclude the Good Governance tour exercise in the South-South region. It's high time his Mob arrangements starts working against him .
