PoliticsRe: PDP Disowns Ikenga, Says ACN Behind “APC” Name Crisis For Attention by koruji(m): 6:27am On Mar 17, 2013
There is so much delusion in the land these days. It is debatable that GEJ can be called a president...talkless of best.

ugoezeb: If you dont like Gej look for d nearest transformer in ur area nd kiss. GEJ is the best President Nigeria has ever had, though d opposition and haters r tryin to paint him black. I'm not saying that he is a saint, but atleast he is better for Nigeria nw. Within 2yrs, his administration has made serious impact like improved power, better aviation, better agric sector, reviving d railtracks. These achievements r very conspicuous for all to see. GEJ-PDP till 2019.

You need some repairs upstairs...

Kajiang02: I've always said I'm beginning to seriously suspect fowl play from the hands of ACN. The authority and confidence the buhari/tinubu led APC reacts to these issues as if "nothing dey happen" makes one believe all these are publicity stunts and its sure working for them cos they generate lots of traffic on these.
PDP is no saint either, but my pick will be the merger APC at work.

I sign on to this suggestion.
Great positive thinking.

neyyo: Wifey begging Nigerians to stop making fun of this civil servant, Father n Hubby.

At this point in time, I'll do almost anything to be in this man's shoes!!!

Instead of wallow in pity, I suggest he drops his uniform and make the best of this situation while he still can. He had better get a brand manager and delve into entertainment!

Now ask me, who in Nigeria doesn't want to listen to what this dude has to say

He had better snap outta d self-pity state of mind and use this as a spring board unto greater things! He should claim the 'Oga @d top' brand and not allow people make money off his 'misery'

A single endorsement could make him more than his 'annual salary' and after all said and done let's see who has the last laff and smiles to the Bank!!!
PoliticsRe: 'My Oga At The Top': Wife Protests At Channels TV' by koruji(m): 6:00am On Mar 17, 2013
Honestly, the first time I saw the video it did not appear to be a big deal, but there are lessons for all sides.

Shem carried the human habit of feigning knowledge of what you don't know too far, forgetting that everybody will see it. In the final analysis, it was a small mistake that should be of small consequence.

The reporters should learn to move on with grace when they see that an interviewee has been put on the spot, instead of pressing him hard over and over. If it was one of the big-time poli-thieves, one who kept $620K in bribes for example, they would neither ask him about it nor press him hard if he refused to answer questions related to his crime.

Finally, mob mentality is hard to control. Once this interview was aired the public's response was uncontrollable. It is appropriate for the wife to make the impact on her household public so that people can learn to be a bit more considerate. I hope the NSCDC would see fit to restore Mr. Shem to his job quietly - answering a question awkwardly is not an offense.

Overall, this episode shows the terrible public speaking skills of the average Nigerian, and most of our public servants who are supposed to represent us to the world. The public speaking skills of our president is just as bad - and that is just sad.

Akell: The wife of the NSCDC Commandant that was ridiculed in the crazy "My Oga At The Top" VIDEO has been reported to have forced her way into Channels TV studio today to protest bitterly to the chairman of Channels on the damages the crazy video has caused his family.

She cried that her kids at school are been ridiculed everyday by their mates. On her part, her neighbours and fellow market women make jest of her every day. She says that the worse of the issue is that her husband can't sleep at night again because of the terrible embarrassment the video has caused him.
In fact she says the man cry every night and also, the so called Oga at the Top is even contemplating sacking or demoting the man because of the damages the video has caused NSCDC.

[Before this woman came from protest at Channels TV, Her Husband has received a call about his suspension].

PoliticsRe: Yorubas Are Ungrateful To Obasanjo - Ahmadu Ali by koruji(m): 1:14pm On Mar 16, 2013
Another foolish old man talking in his sleep. I could not find one thing he mentioned that OBJ did for Yoruba people. Perhaps Mr. Ali equates OBJ serving the interest of his northern friends to serving Yoruba people. Whatever OBJ did for Yoruba people is overshadowed by his devotion to "Nigerian" interests, which are really "Northern" interests, at the expense of Yorubas. The same northern friends have abused and rubbished OBJ - those are the ungrateful ones. Ali should berate his ungrateful northern friends.
PoliticsRe: Diya Others Got Clemency Not Pardon From Abdulsalami by koruji(m): 8:55am On Mar 15, 2013
Typical of GEJ and his mouthpieces.
Question is what the terms mean legally not what webster dictionary says.

To keep it simple imagine clemency as the father, then pardon, commutation, and reprieve are his 3 sons. So the question is, did Gen. Diya get a commutation or a reprieve from Abdulsalami. Answer: No and No. Hence his clemency was a pardon. He already got a pardon from Abdusalami.

If anybody ever thought that GEJ was a person with an iota of seriousness.
Well here is the last straw for your camel's back.
The man simply has no core, no conviction.
Reminds you of the cartoon that was making the rounds during Yar'adua's sickness in Saudi.
The ambulance carrying the man with a bad heart was followed by a car driven by a man with no liver.
A liver-less president is the worst of all.

The man really thinks he has the power to do and undo.
Reminds me how Beaf use to brag about power of the presidency here.
I hope GEJ will find someone to pardon him after this crap he is pulling.
Because it is straight to jail for him.

Dishonorable people - look in the mirror.

biafran soul: I've noticed the hypocritical attitude of various emergency commentators on this forum concerning the state pardon granted the governor general of the Izon nation; D. Alamieyeseigha. I'm just wondering what the noise is all about as this same gesture was also extended to Awolowo (a well reknowned traitor) with no one then raising an eyebrow. It should be on record that the president committed no constitutional breach by exercising his discretionary powers which is guaranteed by the 1999 constitution and therefore, owes no one no apology. Afterall, what is good for the goose should also be good for the gander.

You just proved my point again.
You are a thief - who killed and ate my dog.
Now prove that I am lying because I am a journalist and speaking on my own experience and studies.
In fact my video camera caught the whole thing when you did this evil to my dog.
It is simple - any jack ass can take to the communication channels.
Until they provide necessary evidence they are the bastard sons of their father(s).
BTW, you did not kill my dog and eat it.
But that stereotypical accusation shows the kind of crass reasoning behind your posts.
Enough said.

I should believe a numbskull on NL over a journalist that's speaking on his own experience and studies. Mtscewww. During the first accusation una brought up on oduah and GEJ, Did we not ask why the heck your people dominated that administration before oduah came in and una couldn't answer that simple question. One_Naira: The article says quite a lot. No wonder this f2king country is such a piece of sh1t. People that didn't have experience or the education were hired simply because of their ethnicity. Those that failed the medical test still got hired all again because of their ethnicity . SMH!!! The north and SW f2ked this country up on so many levels. No offense to them but SMH. I wonder why they are crying foul now when people are getting rid of the incompetent ones and replacing them with competent ones. They tried to accuse oduah and GEJ for tribalism yet it's glaring to us which ones were the tribalistic ones. SMH! Im reading the comments and it comes not of shock that they playing the innocent victims yet again. Una brought attention on yourself by accusing the woman and the president for marginalizing/triblizing their administration, a guy dug deeper to understand if the accusation is accurate and discovered a shocking information. He released it to the world and una are crying foul. I keep saying SW on this forum are getting very predictable cause this is exactly the oil block situation being replayed in our eyes again. if we ask why their people dominated that administration befor ethe introduction of oduah or GEJ, they will start telling us it's because they're the most educated. This coming from people who cannot wait till they can take their first steps before packing their meager belongings to come to the SW for a better life.
Yeah, Yorubas are really clanish, yet it is in the SW that you find this same people throwing accusations prospering without disturbance.
The people who have killed you in the hundreds and thousands are not clanish, it is those who have welcomed you with open arms that are clanish.
And no, you yourself are not clanish when you get to Yoruba land and form yourself into "Ibo" groups, and dangerous to yourself, claim that you dominate everything everywhere.
You haven't learned the meaning of being clanish until you start receiving your own crooked coins.
You have one personal hearsay about a Yoruba person, I have 1000 hearsays about Ibo people.
Primitive punk.

Onlytruth: If I am to go by personal account of someone close to me, then, the Yoruba could easily be termed the most clannish and tribalistic Nigerians.
The guy in question recounted MANY instances of Yoruba thwarting his ascension in his engineering profession. I would not like to recount all the instances, but he just told me yesterday that the Yoruba dominated branch of the oil company where he is working, just bypassed him on his DUE promotion. Their game plan was to get him angry so that in his anger he would do something rash and they would then instigate his firing. I personally told him to calm down and play dead for now. Their day of reckoning will come one day. I told him to read and meditate on Psalm 37.

Let me say this now. There is no way for Nigeria to move forward without a MASSIVE overhaul of the system. A lot of "parapo" dudes are sitting on top of COMPETENT Nigerian working staff. For me, the most significant reason why that system has to change is that the people doing this are mainly incapable and unqualified to occupy the positions from which they dominate and oppress other Nigerians. Let me give an example. Since the Yoruba dominate Nigerian oil sector engineering; pray in what areas has Nigeria distinguished herself in petrochemical and marine engineering? Is there something we dominate engineering-wise internationally, any thing? Why is Nigeria not able to account for the amount of oil she exports? Why is Nigeria still backward in engineering generally? You see, there is something Ndigbo call "ewu eri, ma okuko atu" -the goat refuses to eat, (or is incapable of eating something), yet will fight tooth and nail to ensure that the chicken never eats it! That is the height of wickedness and a unique type of corruption that must be fought to a stand still for Nigeria to move forward.

BTW such unique corruption will NEVER stop until Ministers start acting like Stella Oduah. cool

Just keep your two left legs away from our affairs and we won't have to beat you to a pulp everytime. Are you really that hard-pressed for money that you have ti raise threads that make no sense to remain on the GEJ payment ledger? I pity your fingertips cheesy cheesy cheesy

Sincere 9gerian: In the last few weeks, every keen observer would have noticed the decimation of the haters on this forum. The propaganda and lies of the haters lost its potency in the face of indisputable early harvests from the transformation train. The threads upon threads of early harvests from the transformation train, created by patriotic Nlanders, ensured the haters lost their relevance.

The case of the haters was even made worse and hopeless by the wobbling and fumbling merger talks of the opposition political parties.

While the wise haters decided to switch camp and join the winning team, some others decided to stay away for sometime or adopt a siddon look posture. But the few foolish haters, who see hating as a do-or-die affair or are paid to hate, have continued to constitute nuisance in the forum and receive deadly punches.

However, in the last 2days, the haters are re-grouping and attempting a comeback, latching onto the state pardon granted certain persons by the National Council of State.

The haters have found comfort in the notoriously mischievous and biased moderators, who at the last count, have moved three (3) separate threads on the issue of the state pardon to the front page.

Nonetheless, I have bad news for the recalcitrant haters. Their attempt to re-group and bounce back is dead on arrival. The transformation train will definitely crush them.
PoliticsRe: The North, South-west, And The Stealing Of Nigeria’s Common Patrimony by koruji(m): 11:27pm On Mar 12, 2013
It just occurred to me that some people don't understand the difference between owning a resource, and doing something with the resource.
The rents or returns to resources belong to those who own it, but the profits from the venture of exploiting it belong to those who do something with it.
That you own the resource doesn't mean that you also deserve or have a right to be employed in the process of its exploitation.
For that you will need acquired skills that go beyond the God-given manna under your foot.

The well known resource-curse applies to nations, towns, villages and individuals.
When you get free lunch from the resources that you neither put their or work for but claim.
You also have the tendency to ignore industry.
In the case of individuals the tendency is to be lazy.
...ignoring education and skill acquisition.
PoliticsRe: The North, South-west, And The Stealing Of Nigeria’s Common Patrimony by koruji(m): 11:15pm On Mar 12, 2013
Awo did not give free education to Yorubas to the detriment of others.
He gave free education to those within his jurisdiction, Yoruba and non-Yoruba.
Heck, the great man campaigned to become president so he could extend it to all - but no!!! They didn't want a Yoruba man!!!
His legacy was so long-lasting that the generation after him, in the likes of Bola Ige, extended it to those after them.
That singular act during the governors like Bola Ige was the decisive factor in the future of many of us at the time.
After NPN stole the elections in 1983 the SW entered the era of the locusts.
The times have changed but the ACN is retracing the paths of Awo.
Woe-betides anyone, SWer or Federal, who disrupts this renewaal process.
What the SW wants now is for the next crop of its leaders to build on what ACN is currently achieving.
With or without Nigeria or the FG - we really don't care.

Haters will always hate, but the legacy of Pa Awo remains way above those of his peers in many respects.
As Yorubas are won't to say, "O ju mo oun to yo nu".

Bobandgreat:
You just spoilt a brilliant post by mentioning Awo. Remember others see him as a villain, bigot that gave free education to only Yorubas at the detriment of others. He is also seen as the one that sew the seed of tribalism in the heart of Yorubas that it comes out sub consciously now. You can always mention Gani, Fela, Soyinka, etc and pple will listen. Please!
PoliticsRe: The North, South-west, And The Stealing Of Nigeria’s Common Patrimony by koruji(m): 2:23pm On Mar 12, 2013
You are talking about todays education statistics while the issue is about skilled positions dating back to the 70s. You should be ashamed of yourself for such illogical reasoning. Yes the education system is bad today everywhere in Nigeria. In the SW because of the charlattans that took control of the SW in the name of national unity. We are going back to the fundamentals in the SW and glorious days are ahead of us again.

Besides, I served in Owerri and I know the scandal that pass for education in the SE, so stop foolling yourself. All that has to be done in all regions of Nigeria is to put in place a solid education system like Baba Awo did - all of us are potentially brilliant people: West, East, North or South.

Ikengawo: SW states do the second worst in education statistics, the north does the absolute worst

Imo, Anambra, Delta trade spots for top three, so i doubt it has anything to do with skill or awolowo. You can keep telling this lie of an 'educated SW' or you can pursuit real education like the rest of nigeria is attempting to do. Every SW uni is minimum 30-40% igbo while every SS SE uni is 12% yoruba maximum.

unless you feel that the oil industry in nigeria is being handled with 'skill'

What nepotism? The skill that allowed Yorubas to work in such positions were not acquired overnight.
It was the product of Awolowo's foresight. We can't but help it if that this put us ahead of others in these areas and almost every major commerce originates in Lagos. The local contents law has been on and working but you can't make skills overnight. Stop blaming Yorubas for your problems. You are the ones engaged in dangerous conspiracy and we will keep our eyes peeled.

Instead of others to educate their people like Awo did they were busy acquiring mansions and shifting money into swiss accounts only to come back with BS conspiracy theories when their people fall behind.

I hope every Yoruba reads the below.
This is the kind of false accusation Hitler threw at the Jews.
And the rest is wicked history.
Yorubas, one and all, must be ready for the fight that is to come.
We know who had control of this country for decades.
And we know those who are currently parasitically feeding on the Niger Delta.
Thank God that those who know have spoken about who really controls what in Nigeria.
Yorubas as a group supported the resource-control struggle of the Niger Deltans.
Now that they have the center they have forgotten about resource-control.
The stuppor of ephemeral power is not allowing them to see the danger ahead.
Behaving like the kind of ingrates they are capable of being.
Yorubas must not take this kind of lies and innuendo lying down anymore!!!

According to a wikileaks report – http://wikileaks.org/cable/2006/09/06ABUJA2423.html – a 2006 US Embassy cable with the subject title ‘A Yoruba Plot To Control Nigeria’s Economy?’ reveals the concerns of the Niger Deltans voiced by Chief David Serena-Dokubo Spiff, an attorney for the Halliburtonia’s Economy subsidiary contracted for the Bonny Island LNG cuss Bonny issues and the Delta situation in general. According to the cable Spiff said that much of the problem (Niger Delta) is the result of a “Yoruba plot.” He echoed the longstanding complaints that the Yorubas (from the southwest of Nigeria) control most of the workforce of the oil industry and much of Nigeria’s economy. Spiff blamed the Yoruba for scuttling an attempt to require more local content in oil services, a plan that should have put more business into the Niger delta and its indigenes. He also noted that while indigenes “know that the Yorubas are behind this,” the international companies are much more visible and provide the rallying point for the wide range of complaints from the region. The cable goes on to add that “Spiff’s analysis of the situation tracks with the general comments floating around the area for many years, particularly the accusations against the Yoruba tribe. The difference appears to be that the complaints are becoming much more public.”

I hope these men realize that whatever remains of Nigeria's credibility is being torn to shreds over this event.
If those foreign govts. can confirm the death of their citizens why can't the Nigerian government either confirm or firmly refute.
I thought the we were working with all these countries to find the hostages.
Why don't we have the same information they have on this new dastardly act by Boko Haram and associates - inside our country no less.
It would be good to find these men alive, but the world needs answers not the distinction between "belief" and "confirmation".
Or is this a case of the ostrich all over again?

MARCH 12, 2013 BY NIYI ODEBODE, JOHN ALECHENU, FIDELIS SORIWEI, ADELANI ADEPEGBA AND OLALEKAN ADETAYO LEAVE A COMMENT

The Minister of Interior, Mr. Abba Moro, has said that the reported killing of seven kidnapped foreign construction workers by a militant Islamic group, Jama’atu Ansarul Musilimina Fi Biladis Sudan, remains unconfirmed.

“As long as it (killing) remains unconfirmed, efforts will be made to ensure their rescue and security,” Moro told the Hausa service of the British Broadcasting Corporation on Monday.

“I want us to also think that belief is quite different from confirmation. And maybe the affected countries believe that was what happened, but on its part, the country where it is said to have happened, based on what it sees, is doing the best it can in ensuring the men are freed, who it hopes are alive.”

But his belief and comments by his Information counterpart , Labaran Maku, as well as security agencies showed that there was confusion in government circle over the fate of the kidnapped foreigners.

Shortly before the Interior Minister spoke, JAMBS, in order to prove its claim, posted a video of what it said was the bodies of the foreigners ( a Briton, an Italian, a Greek and four Lebanese) on the Internet.

The video released by the al Qaeda-linked group and dated March 9 shows a gunman standing next to a pile of bodies, then close-ups of their faces lit up by a torch.

It carries the Arabic title, “The killing of the seven Christian hostages in Nigeria” although the religion of the deceased was not clear.

A caption underneath the video says in Arabic and in English: “In the name of Allah Most Beneficent Most Merciful.”

JAMBS had also said it killed the hostages in response to attempts by Britain and Nigeria to free them although Italy and Greece said there had been no such attempt this time around.

Contradicting JAMBS claim, a senior presidential aide told the Guardian of London that no rescue raid was under way or in the pipeline with any other governments.

“The (Nigerian) government had zero indication of where the hostages were being held. We would have mounted a raid if we had known,” the aide told the Guardian of London.

He added that the speed at which events had unfolded over the last few days “caught (the government) on the back foot.”

Two security sources told the Guardian the hostages might have been killed when their captors panicked, mistakenly believing British intelligence operatives based in Nigeria had located them.

A secret service official said that three of the hostages were believed to have been seriously ill during their captivity.

However, as the United Kingdom, Italy and Greece confirmed the killings on Sunday, the Federal Government made no immediate comment.

Efforts to get the Presidency’s reaction yielded no positive result as the telephone lines of the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, was switched off.

It was learnt on Monday that Abati was out of the country.

Also, the Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe, did not pick his call when one of our correspondents tried to reach him on Sunday.

The spokesman for the Foreign Affairs Ministry, Mr. Ogbole Ahmedu-Ode, had said he had not been briefed and therefore could not make any comment on the reported killings.

The Information minister declined to make comments on the fate of the seven hostages when confronted by journalists in Abuja on Monday.

I don’t have the full brief to brief you,” Maku said as he walked out of the Presidential Villa, Abuja where he had earlier attended a meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan.

When he was further asked to comment on the listing of Nigeria as a terrorist state by France over the incident, the minister kept mum.

When one of our correspondents contacted the Director of Defence Information, Col. Mohammed Yerima, on Monday , he asked, “How can we confirm? There is nothing to confirm. We don’t have comment. We are saying we do not have comment.”

Also, the Bauchi State Police Command said it had no clue on the condition of the seven foreigners said to be Setraco workers.

The command said it had yet to establish the alleged murder of the foreigners who were abducted from their camp in Jama’are, Bauchi State on February 17, 2013 by JAMBS members.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Hassan Mohammed, told one of our correspondents on Monday that the command had no evidence that the hostages had been killed.

“We don’t have any information on the hostages’ death; honestly I can’t tell you anything about it because I don’t know, we are still investigating the claims by the sect. But for now, we don’t know the situation of things,” he said.

It was gathered that security agencies were still combing Bauchi and the neighbouring states for the abducted Setraco workers.

JAMBS killed a British and an Italian hostage in North-West Nigeria during a failed rescue mission by British and Nigerian forces a year ago.

A German kidnapped by an Islamist group in January 2012 was also killed later in the year during a raid on his location.

A French national is being also held by the group, while another family of seven kidnapped in northern Cameroon are being held by a group claiming to be Boko Haram.

Security officials say JAMBS split from Boko Haram in January 2012, after the latter launched a devastating attack on the city of Kano that killed 186 people, mostly Muslims.

There was never a Non-aligned movement in reality.
Everybody chose sides or played both sides.
China and Nigeria actually played both sides.
China won; Nigeria lost out. I wonder why?
It is not just a whiff of colonialism.
The whole dish is colonialism!!!
PoliticsRe: Have Anyone Noticed The City Wide CCTV Cameras In Lagos?? by koruji(m): 12:36am On Mar 12, 2013
I understand where you are coming from, but you must consider 3 things here:

1. If you alone estimate up to 500 CCTV cameras in Lagos, then there is probably more than that since there is no way for you to travel around Lagos completely. These Fashola cameras are all over Lagos, not what appears to be the Federal Roads and assets within Lagos where the FG claims to be installing cameras.

2. I am willing to bet that FG cameras in Lagos are yet to start operation because the whole project (which was supposed to include Lagos and Abuja) seems to be moribund. This is why none of those claiming things for the FG can reference Abuja, where the FG can legitimately claim most projects as its own. The NASS recently raised concerns about both the funding and implementation of the project, and there are several recent articles showing that the implementation has run into a hitch. The contractor, ZTE, hasn't even handed the FG CCTV system over yet, wheres the company that handled the Lagos system handed it over as far back as 2009 - the video above. Hence any CCTV system you see operating in Lagos right now are part of the LASG system.

http://desertherald.com/abuja-cctv-cameras-without-lenses/

3. The reason I was so gung-ho here is the renewed penchant to latch on to state projects, particularly in ACN controlled states, and pretend they were FG projects. Several glaring cases had occurred recently.

billante: I have been monitoring the arguments btw pro GEJ lead by sincer9gerian and pro ACN lead by koruji over who's project is the lagos cctv is!
From my personal obeservation the CCTV system(it involves a solar system,a radio,an antenna and camera) I have seen all over lagos presently can not be more than 500 and probably being monitor from the alausa control center....so none of u guys argument is tallying.

My understanding is its a project coloboration btw FG and LSG in which the FG gave out d contract to provide d cameras and since LSG already has a control center that also handles its 767 and 112 emergencies and with few other cctv already installed its logical to streamline both the FG CCTVs and LSG to one monitoring center.....I may be wrong! So Its only d guys incharge that can give d correct information and datas.

Shame on you. The context suggests the man was talking about monitoring the BRT system across the state to protect life and nab those illegally using the BRT lane. Like I just posted the company that delivered the system uses its successful delivery to advertise itself, and they mention 10,000 CCTV cameras.

Lagos state decided to implement an ambitious safe-city concept to cover its territory with 10,000 cameras, sensors and other technological elements.

The main requirement from the safe city concept was to create an ability to monitor the activity throughout the state and city in a way that will maintain the highest level of security at any time 24/7.

AA Group’s subsidiary, Fast-Track, was in charge on the implementation of this huge project and it proved its technological superiority by delivering a successful project to Lagos state government.

Sincere 9gerian: What happens when a liar collides with another liar? Confusion and contradictions.

A month after Fashola was purported to have launched the 10,000 CCTV cameras, a commissioner in his cabinet told the world in 2009 that the state govt had only deployed 90 cameras. See below:
