Politics / Reacting To Oby's "Hate" Article Against The Democratic Hero Of Our Time by kosovo(m): 6:17am On Apr 04, 2015 |
"If I lose this election, I will go back to my village, Nigeria is not my father's estate." - President Goodluck Jonathan. This is one of the most powerful quotes in Nigeria political ecosystem. The President clearly understands that Nigeria is bigger than him. Oby has to understand too, that Nigeria is bigger than her. She ought to know when to keep quiet! I read her "hate" article against the president not being a hero and I was totally embarrassed that people could lose their basic sense of reasoning. Being an opposition, doesn't mean you should oppose just about anything. If Oby was a patriotic Nigerian, which I doubt, she would not write that piece of junk. We are tired of irresponsible opposition people who don't know when to draw the line. Who do not understand the role of being an opposition. An opposition doesn't mean you have to oppose everything and anything, even an action that would have turned the nation to shreds. She served under the Obasanjo administration, she has never reflected upon the epic failure of her ex-boss. We all know the retired General took her to bed, that's why she has lost every sense of reasoning. She lost out of President Jonathan's cabinet which caused her to be bitter. Now let face this, President Jonathan is Nigeria's hero whether Oby likes it not. She doesn't represent the future of Nigeria, she can stick with her selfish desires, while we align with the rest of world to appreciate President Jonathan for showing us how democracy can be. Obasanjo in his time, would never conceded defeat. He said elections were a "do or die" affair. He illegally declared Vice President Abubakar seat vacant, crippling him politically up till this moment. Baba was minister of petroleum for 8-years and ruled this nation with reckless abadon. Madam Oby refused to reflect on those issues, obviously because she was part of the people who emptied Nigeria's treasury. President Jonathan, by signing the Freedom of Information Act made Nigerians see the level of corruption in his government. Although, he couldn't completely wipe it, it gave Nigerians the right to ask questions. For me, this is the foundation for clearing out corruption. On the missing $20 billion, I have always known it was part of the Northern Conspiracy to unseat the president. PWC, one of the top leading auditors in the world have shown that no money was missing. I don't believe PWC can kill their global integrity for any amount. In a sane country, Sanusi would apologize to Nigerians. Again, he was just doing what the Northern elite asked him to do - to discredit the government. Ever wondered the circumstances surrounding his emergence as the Emir of Kano? That's another grand conspiracy, which isn't in the scope of this article. President Jonathan had every right to remain in power, considering the "too much" power given to the president. He could have stopped the Card Reader, could have sacked Jega. At the point when Orubebe was causing confusion, he could have asked the police to "tear-gas" the hall and get hold of the result sheets. I know Nigerians, Heaven will not fall. The President decided not to use any of the options. Not because he is weak, but because he understands the meaning of democracy. Oby is obviously in rage, because she didn't expect the president to conceded. Worse still, she wanted the hate campaign to continue.. Praises from the international community has torn her to shreds, she can't sleep at night. Even her staff were in tears, when Jonathan took that bold step of conceding defeat. Supporters of APC and even their elite were quick to recognise the president as the Hero of Nigeria democracy. President Jonathan has done what no Nigerian leader, having powers without limit can do. The President-elect never conceded defeat once in his last three attempts. Even when it was mathematically impossible for him to win. A man didn't campaign in the South East and South South, but wanted to win the Presidency, depending solely on the Northern votes. He lost, yet he didn't conceded. His action led to the death of 800 people, including our gallant Corp Members. Oby should know that her days of cheap attention seeking is over. President Jonathan's reputation has sky-rocketed. He has gotten to a position where she can only imagine but never attain. We must give respect to whom respect truly deserves. I have striped-off any title from Oby's name because she doesn't warrant any respect. She has shown that she is cheap, gullible and totally irresponsible. We respect the president. For the first time in 16-years, there are no blood shed after elections. I leave you with greatest political quote in Nigeria ascribed to President Jonathan. "My ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian" Thank you Mr. President. God bless Nigeria. 23 Likes 2 Shares |

ogb5: Nigeria has a terrible habit of reading. Nigerians don't read history books, that's why they are desperate to repeat a laughable history. That Pa. Buhari is the change they crave for shows how far from reality a majority of Nigerians are. A man who, with unconditional powers could not change Nigeria, promises to change the nation at 72, when his powers would be limited. Some people actually believe the change mantra, that's totally unbelievable. In a country, where people are sane, such a man would be begging for apology and not votes. You cannot give what you do not have. Idiagbon was away, that was when IBB strucked! Buhari could not fire a single shot, that shows how weak he was as a General and as a Leader. Tunde Idiagbon was the government of the day. Even the glorified "War Against Indiscipline" was orchestrated by his deputy. |

He that finds a wife finds a good thing.. Despite her grammatical blunders, you can't take away her ruthless campaign for her husband.. Even if everyone thinks GEJ is clueless, she doesn't give a hoot.. For me, this is the definition of a wife! No president's wife has ever campaigned like this in Nigeria. If GEJ wins, she definitely deserves a pat at the back for a job well done. 349 Likes 29 Shares |

cozy7: I do not know if this is the biggest contradiction I have read in weeks. You claim no one is perfect. Yet, you expected a perfect administration from GEJ. Then, you go further to say Buhari is better than GEJ. Would the word "hypocrisy" be out of place here? To say that GEJ hasn't achieved anything does nothing but dignifies your ignorance. There is no government that has got it right, all of the time. I beg to say, that if you still hold that myopic and mediocre ideology that GEJ has done "nothing," you are totally unworthy of further reply from me or any person whose mental alacrity is unpretentious and ingenuous. 2 Likes |
Politics / How Nigeria Buhari Went From ‘ruthless Ex-dictator’ To ‘weak Leader’ by kosovo(m): 12:46pm On Mar 24, 2015 |
General Muhammadu Buhari, the former military head of state and presidential candidate of the opposition APC party has a reputation in Nigeria as a no-nonsense hard man earned during his hardline 20-month military government rule from 1984 to 1985. Some feel it’s the kind of leadership, fused with integrity, needed to curb what many Nigerians see as the excessive corrupt practices of the present regime. So with Buhari soaring in the polls in the run-up to the original elections date of February 14, his rivals (mainly working for president Goodluck Jonathan) made a major change to stop reminding Nigerians Buhari was a “ruthless ex-dictator” which has an underlying implication of strength. The strategy in the last four to six weeks has focused on painting Buhari as a weak leader. Strategists have tried to change the Buhari narrative with a mix of trivial distractions and dog whistles on sensitive issues. These issues have been defended and rebutted by Buhari’s team but the more they were discussed, the more traction they gained. Some of the ‘switch the narrative’ tactics will not be unfamiliar to close watchers of U.S. politics and there may be a good reason for that. According to Politico, both sides have at different times recruited U.S. political consultants including former Obama campaign manager David Axelrod’s AKPD and former Howard Dean campaign manager Joseph Trippi of The Potomac Square Group. Here are four examples of a change in the core political discussions. Raise questions about his educational qualifications Early this year, there was a huge uproar over whether Buhari was qualified to be head of state because he was unable to readily produce his high school diploma, earned 50 years earlier. It was remarkable, given he had already previously run the country and and risen to the rank of major general in the Nigerian army which requires post-graduate level of training. It was a smart move. Nigerians are huge believers in the value of education, particularly in the south, where Buhari needs to win over voters in addition to his northern stronghold. Nigerians can be said to be obsessed with academic qualifications and professional titles. This is why the school certificate story still resonates with Nigerians. The fact president Jonathan is a PhD holder makes him more qualified and a better president in the eyes of many Nigerians, especially southerners. Make suggestions about his health Questions over Buhari’s health recently become a subject of ongoing interest. Rumors started to do the rounds that he is suffering from prostrate cancer some weeks ago. It was for this reason, claim the whispers, that he arranged a UK medical visit to coincide with his speaking engagement at Chatham House in London. ‘‘The rumour that he is suffering from prostrate cancer is exceptionally worrying and it is incumbent upon each and everyone of us to pray for him if this rumour is true.’’ This was how Femi Fani-Kayode, publicity chief of Jonathan’s PDP party campaign team put it. The controversial Ekiti State governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose placed a provocative advert in major newspapers across Nigeria suggesting Buhari could be close to death by invoking memories of the president before last,Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, who died in office in 2010 from a mysterious illness hidden from Nigerians Is he too old? Diction is one thing, being coherent is another. A majority of Nigerians, especially from the south have latched on to Buhari’s stuttering speech delivery and forgetfulness during interviews and on the campaign trail. It backs up the idea that at 72 he is now too old to run a country where 60% of the population is under 30. It can’t be denied that Buhari has exacerbated his own verbal faux pas in recent times. Remember Sharia Law? Buhari should have a slight advantage being a pragmatic Muslim northerner at a time when there’s an insurgency from Islamic terrorists in Nigeria’s north. The thinking is that he would have more empathy with his fellow northerners and focus more resources on ending the problem and the root causes of the problem such as poverty and education. Instead his opponents have systematically turned it into a disadvantage claiming he is himself a ‘fundamentalist’ tool of Islamists and it’s one he’s found difficult to shake off. It is claimed Buhari was in support of spreading Sharia islamic law throughout the federation an accusation he is fed-up with deflecting. PDP members have questioned why he, Buhari, was picked by Boko Haram as part of the team to have talks with the government of Nigeria in Saudi Arabia. The tensions are such that, while president Jonathan, a Christian, is regularly photographed praying in churches on his campaign trail, Buhari has avoided being photographed at mosques. http://qz.com/368219/how-nigeria-challenger-buhari-went-from-ruthless-dictator-to-weak-leader/ |

lewis33: You are the one fooling yourself... In the last 6 years.. U.S blocked every channel of weapon sale to Nigeria.. It was blocked in the U.S, Israel, And South Africa.. Until we went to Russia and Ukraine, which U.S has no power over.. Nigeria couldn't secure some weapons to combat the hi-tech weapons of BH. Secondly, in the last 6 yrs.. Neither border nations joined the fight.. Now we have Chad, Niger, Cameron and A.U in this fight. Over 20,000 solders, Airforce and Navy are in this fight . Hence, the massive offensive and bombardment.. UPDATE: 4:36PM/20/02/15 I can't reply all the mentions, but I need to clarify some very sincere objections.. For those asking why Government didn't buy weapons from Russia ever since; Purchasing weapons isn't just like going to the market to buy Garri, if one seller doesn't sell, you simply move to the other. There is a lot of bureaucracy involved. If purchasing weapons was so easy, Iran wouldn't have had it and still having it tough with the development of nuclear energy, which the UN and U.S. Believe is a secrete plot to developing weapons of mass destruction.. On the Side Note: It is unfair to place the entire blame on president Jonathan. When the 9/11 attack happened, all right-thinking nations developed their military, including South Africa and Chad to meet the challenges ahead and guard against any future terrorist attack. If the previous government started developing and upgrading the military, we would have enough intelligence to counter the terrorist, even before they escalated to this level. Is it not a shame that the last time Nigeria got a Naval ship was in 1983? Only recently did President Jonathan acquire 8-Naval ships, four already commissioned and handed-over to their captains, while Nigeria awaits the remaining four. Finally: It is important to note that President Jonathan's hands were literally tied on the issue. He was not willing to commit Genocide in the North East like OBJ did in Odi. OBJ may have escaped the ICC, GEJ may not, if he carried out aggressive offensive without the backing of the A.U. The intervention of A.U and assistance from border nations was the game changer. Unfortunately, it happened 6-years into the Jonathan's administration. The U.S. obviously decided to suffer the Nigeria government because it refused to approve Gay marriage. This, the U.S sees as a violation of human rights, and uses the BH insurgency as a means to retaliate. Nigeria enjoys great ties with the U.S,.. going ahead with Russia who now provide military Intel to the Nigeria Army means that Nigeria would suffer further backlash from the U.S... In essence, as a patriotic Nigerian, it is not the time to blame.. it is the time to consolidate on our recent gains in the fight against insurgency and give the government all the support it requires. When the 9/11 happened, no single American blamed George Bush. Even the Opposition Democratic party became United for a common goal, and that was the WAR against terror. America has never been more United until the terror attack which sent shock-waves through the spine of all Americans. The 9/11 attack is one of the most accurately planned and devastating terror attack in the world. It is time for us to unite.. God bless Nigeria! 680 Likes 109 Shares |

Politics / New Fact Emerge Buhari Cripped The Navy In 1984 by kosovo(m): 6:16am On Feb 20, 2015 |
Prior to the commissioning of 4-Naval ships by President Jonathan, the last time Nigeria got a Naval ship was in 1983, purchased by Shehu Shagari In 1984, when Buhari overthrew a democratic government, he crippled the Navy because he felt threatened by that arm of defence. Every other government has undermined the Navy, until fresh air came under the Jonathan led government, who recently commissioned four Naval ships, including NNS Centenary and NNS Prosperity. 3 Likes |

Go to the comment section of Yahoo News, CNBC, Fox, CNN and read how Americans tear the president apart, Objectively! Despite this, you don't see any commentator destroying the office in a derogatory way, neither do you see an ex-president doing a reality show over the president to gain cheap publicity. For me, I think the Freedom of Information act is a curse to Nigeria...As any slowpoke can go online/onair to release fraudulent information.. In a sane country, Sanuisi would apologise to the Presidency and Nigeria for the fake missing billions.. PWC, a global leading auditing company has put him and his distractors to shame.. in fact, anyone guilty of instigating fraudulent information should be prosecuted, as in the case of Sanuii. 1 Like |
Politics / Shameless OBJ Must Learn From Bush Who Has Not Publicly Degraded The Oval Office by kosovo(m): 6:02am On Feb 19, 2015 |
This is how a true president should talk, unlike our power hungry OBJ who is hell-bent on saying all the BS in the world because his puppet refused to be controlled from his Ota Farm built from "massively" looted tax-payer's money. THE WASHINGTON TIMES. NOVEMBER 16, 2014 By Jessica Chasmar - The Washington Times - Sunday, November 16, 2014 Former President George W. Bush explained Thursday that he has avoided publicly criticizing President Obama because he feels it would undermine the office of the presidency. “I don’t think it’s good for the country to have a former president undermine a current president; I think it’s bad for the presidency for that matter,” Mr. Bush said Thursday evening on Fox News’ “Hannity,” Mediaite reported. The former president said that, though he follows politics and is “very aware of what’s going on,” he has no interest in generating headlines for himself by bashing his successor. “Secondly, I really have had all the fame I want,” he continued. “I really don’t long for publicity. And the truth of the matter is in order for me to generate publicity I’d have to either attack the Republican Party, which I don’t want to do, or attack the president, which I don’t want to do. And so I’m perfectly content to be out of the limelight.” 1 Like |
