It's not about the quit Notice....

Have you read that "Kaduna Declaration "?

that document portray
Xenophobia
Tribal Discrimination
Hate
Genocide

against people you said had been your loyal neighbors, who were guilty of any crime nor are accomplice to Kaduna Nzogwu coup nor Nnamdi Kanu rant.

that Quit Notice successfully show those that had not been to North that these guys are murderers, blood suckers which is not generally truth... It's also trigger past pogrom history where Igbos (which were not privy to) were massacre because of action of some Political Soldiers and evil politicians.

The North need to do more than this your talk to show they are civil, and not blood thirsty.
Leave those people...

They have zero tolerance and they can't bear insults... Unfortunately South Nigeria eat insult day and night as meal..

Kanu only crime is "He Insulted Northerners"... only..

Their major anger with Southerners is also the Insult.

but using violence and threat would not stop insult... It would only increase it.

The best way to end insult... Is to show maturity, not violent.

he wasn't arrested cos he asked 4 self determination. He was arrested 4 treason. In fact this whole hate speech thing actually started with him but that does not justify d arewa hate speech though. no matter how outrageous d bail conditions were, d point is that he saw them, read them, understood them, had professional advise from his counsel, family and friends regarding d conditions and he eventually accepted them.if he felt d bail conditions were going 2 further infringe on his rights he should have rejected them.nelson Mandela was at various times offered many opportunities 2b a free but he turned them cos he wanted unconditional freedom. So was Aung san sun kyi who was offered freedom that infringed on her rights several times but she chose to remain under house arrest for 21years. they ended up writing his name in gold.u can't eat ur cake and have it.he cant say d bail conditions are an infringement on his rights yet he accepted it.who is he deceiving?
OK we agree... "Kanu should, Infact must be Arrested "

Then Arewa Youths should be??

Leaders is amongst the virtue God deprived the east of.
Their penance for plunging Nigeria is to several military coups and civil war

Arewa youths have been condemned since day one and the north made sure they withdrew the statement they made but here is Ohaneaze fragmented in thought and purpose as usual.

They can't even provide good reasons why the government should ignore Kanu.
They did not withdraw the Dumb Kaduna Declaration... The only "Suspend " part of it...

Igbos are just too sentimental. The issue of Kanu and arewa youths are seperate. While those arewa youth should have been arrested long ago, it does not detract from the fact that Kanu violated his bail conditions and the FG is right in demanding his rearrest.
You are absolutely right...

The FG should demand for all the signatory of Kaduna Declaration... Plus Nnamdi Kanu arrest.

Not just only Nnamdi Kanu..

UN has also call for the arrest of the Arewa Youths... Let's see what did government would do.

PoliticsBIAFRA: US Probe Report Declares Northern Nigeria Unsafe for Igbos & Christians by kp3tech(op):
WASHINGTON, Aug. 25, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Statement of law firm Fein & DelValle PLLC:

The law firm of Fein & DelValle PLLC travelled to Enugu, Nigeria—the heart of Igboland—from August 19-August 24, 2017. Our visit was to meet with our plaintiffs-clients, to gather facts and to conduct research to advance the Torture Victims Protection Act (TVPA) lawsuit we have filed in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia on behalf of ten (10) anonymous plaintiffs against sixteen (16) individual defendants for extrajudicial killings and torture perpetrated under color of Nigerian law motived by the Igbo ethnicity, Christian faith, and political viewpoints of the victims. The case is styled John Doe, et al v. Tukur Yusuf Buratai, et al, Civil Action No. 1:17-cv-0133.

Plaintiffs are seeking compensatory and punitive damages to secure justice for the Igbo people, to give them hope for the future, and to deter genocide, ethnic cleansing or the extermination of Christians in Nigeria by radical Islamic Hausa-Fulani terrorists in Northern Nigeria. We are convinced that Nigeria is the most dangerous country in the world for Christians. They routinely defile the sanctity of churches by killing children hiding their tiny bodies in pews. In violation of Nigeria's professed secular constitution, Nigeria has joined the Organization of Islamic Countries and twelve northern states have adopted sharia law. The Christian Open Door Report of 2015 found that Boko Haram, the northeast Islamic terrorist organization, had killed 11,000 Christians, destroyed 13,000 churches and 1,500 Christian schools, had created 2.6 million internally displaced persons, and forced 1.3 million Christians to flee.

On July 11, 2017 by the Fulani Youth Consultative Forum (ACYF) issued an odious, chilling and genocidal threat to plunder the properties and evict by force and violence eleven (11) million Igbos peacefully residing in Northern Nigeria if they do not vacate the region by October 1, 2017. The Government of Nigeria and nineteen northern States have tacitly endorsed the ACYF threatened genocide of twice the number who was exterminated by the Nazis in the Holocaust!
The federal and state governments in northern Nigeria have refused to arrest even a single ACYF member. But today, the ACYF threat was withdrawn—perhaps because frightened by the prospect of TVPA suits against their members. Whether the withdrawal was bogus or genuine remains to be seen.

In our Buratai suit, the District Court issued an order granting the plaintiffs' motion to proceed anonymously because they reasonably feared lethal retaliation against themselves or families if their identities were known.

The actions of the defendants were crimes against humanity that can be prosecuted in any jurisdiction in the world. Indeed, the Convention Against Torture mandates that signatory nations like the United States and Nigeria prosecute the crimes of torture or extrajudicial killings.

Fourteen of the individual defendants are federal officials and two are state governors in the Southeast. One of the two, Governors, Willie Obiano of Anambra State, has already apologized for the brutal killings of plaintiffs that he admits were perpetrated under his aegis. The other defendant Governor is Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State.

The defendants have yet to answer. Several are in default for failure to respond within 21 days of the service of the summons and Complaint. We are optimistic about our chances of victory at trial or earlier. Defendants are represented by a small Nigerian law firm in California thousands of miles from the venue of the litigation in the District of Columbia. They represent they have been contacted by the Government of Nigeria, not by the individual defendants.

We salute the courage of our ten anonymous plaintiffs and their brave supporters throughout Igboland. We are unified in our insistence on obtaining justice for the Igbo people through peaceful and lawful means that disavow the lawless savagery of their persecutors. They should tremble when they reflect that God is just, and that his justice will not sleep forever.

GENEVA (25 August 2017) – An ultimatum telling Nigeria’s Igbo minority in the north of the country to flee their homes is of “grave concern”, a group of United Nations human rights experts* has warned.

The experts also deplored a hate song and audio message being circulated on the internet and on social media. The Hausa-language audio message urges northern Nigerians to destroy the property of Igbo people and kill anyone who refuses to leave by 1 October, the same date given in the ultimatum.

“We are gravely concerned about this proliferation of hate messages and incitement to violence against the Igbo and their property, especially considering the previous history of such violence,” the experts said.

“The Government must be vigilant, as hate speech and incitement can endanger social cohesion and threaten peace by deepening the existing tensions between Nigeria’s ethnic communities.”

The ultimatum was issued on 6 June 2017 during a press briefing by the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum in the city of Kaduna. It called for sustained and coordinated campaigns to remove the Igbo population from the northern region.

The human rights experts noted that some local and national figures, as well as some media representatives, had publicly denounced any form of hate speech and incitement, but said other officials still needed to follow suit.

“We are deeply concerned that some prominent local leaders and elders have not condemned the ultimatum, hate speech and the perpetrators,” the experts stressed.

“We call on the Government, media and civil society representatives, and local and religious leaders, to reject and condemn hate speech and incitement to violence unequivocally and in the strongest possible terms.”

The UN experts said any incidents of hate speech and incitement to violence had to be investigated and the perpetrators prosecuted and punished. “This includes the people behind the ultimatum and those responsible for the creation, publication and circulation of the hate song and audio message,” they added

ABUJA – The Coalition of Northern Groups CNG has withdrawn the “quit notice” it issued Igbos resident in the region, but asked the Federal Government to arrest the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu saying the time has come to curtail his excesses.

At a press conference attended by the Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum and Borno state Governor, Kashim Shettima, Sen. Kabiru Gaya and other northern leaders, Thursday in Abuja, the group however said it would continue to pursue its other demands up to the United Nations.

“Mindful of the concerns generated by the clause in the Kaduna declaration that advised the Biafran Igbo to relocate from northern Nigeria and for northerners in the South East to do likewise, and our commitment to the unity of our dear country,n we immediately opened channels for dialogue and interaction with government agencies, national and international groups, institutions and figures.

“Admittedly, we came under intense persuasive pressure from genuinely concerned national, political, traditional, religious and cultural leaders prominent among which were; a section of the Northern Governors Forum under its Chairman, Gov. Kashim Shettima of Borno state, northern traditional rulers and the Department of State Services DSS.

“Most significant was our correspondence with the then Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and most recently our interface with the Presidency through the Special Assistant to the President on Political Matters.

“In the meantime, we shall firmly pursue our petitions to the United Nations and the Nigerian federal authorities calling for the appropriate sanction of Nnamdi Kanu, other IPOB leaders and their sponsors in addition to labelling them a terror outfit”.

The CNG also listed several terms which it asked the government to consider. It said the federal government should allow and support the Igbo to hold a referendum on secession.

“Taking all other issues raised in the Kaduna Declaration over the past few months, vis a vis the effort by various government and non-governmental bodies to engage us in dialogue, we submit that there is the need to look at the following issues holistically as safeguards against future ethnic tensions:

“Allow the Igbo and support them to hold a referendum to decide their future either as Nigerians or as Biafrans in view of the fact that the population of the Igbo that supports Biafra is far larger than the few who appear to be against it. Failure to do that will only douse this tension temporarily while they regroup to prepare for the war, they have always craved and openly called for. We are opposed to war with any part of this country and we are opposed to any situation that will lead to war.

“One of the key reasons why Biafra should be allowed to hold a referendum is because the principle of self-determination has, since World War 11 become a part of the United Nations Charter, which states in Article 1 (2), that one of the purposes of the UN is “to develop friendly relations among nations based on respect for the principle of equal rights and self-determination of people.”

“And by virtue of Nigeria being a signatory to the various international conventions that entrench the right of a people to self determination; we submit that it is only proper for Nigerian authorities to reflect that right in the ongoing constitution review or in the alternative, rescind its endorsement of the said conventions.

“If for any reason a referendum cannot be held for the moment, we insist the Igbo both in the Southeast and in other parts of Nigeria including all elected and other office holders be made to discard totally any idea of Biafra and to show practical actions to prove that they believe in one Nigeria.

“Relevant law enforcement agencies, should carry out a careful, lawful and purposive search of all suspected premises in the north in which IPOB sympathizers might be amassing arms. This is necessary because since the declaration of war by IPOB, there had been cases of interception of caches of arms concealed and smuggled into some parts of northern Nigeria. Let it be known, that it is illogical to wait in this obvious and clear state of danger until the secessionist unleashes terror on innocent people and communities. By extension all unlicensed arms and ammunition should be mopped up by the authorities. And if there is a counter suspicion of northerners in the East amassing arms, they should also be searched and confiscated.

“We insist on immediate steps to be taken for the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu and for his appropriate prosecution while calling on the Nigerian Senate to demand that all Senators who stood surety for him in court rescind their bond or be suspended accordingly.

“Total closure of all the open drug markets operating in Northern Nigeria and the immediate implementation of the National Drug Distribution Guidelines NDDG as contained in the 2nd Edition 2012 developed by the Federal Ministry of Health which did not include the Co-ordinated Wholesale Centres CWC. This is the guideline which provides a distribution channel which is in consonance with the national drug policy and the implementation of which is empowered by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. To achieve this, all the states in northern Nigeria, should establish and strengthen the state task force on counterfeit and fake drugs and unwholesome processed foods, revoke all land titles where drugs are being sold and review the laws to provide stiff penalties for offenders.

“The government should come up with clear laws on hate speech, which should remain in place to contain other individuals or groups whose way of agitation is to engage in hate speech capable of disrupting peace and harmony”.

COALITION of Northern Groups (CNG), on Thursday, suspended its quit notice issued to all Igbos leaving in Northern Nigeria by October 1, with advice on Federal Government to allow Igbos hold a referendum to decide their future either as Nigerians or as Biafrans.
This, the groups said became paramount in view of the population of the Igbos that support Biafra was far larger than the few who appeared to be against it, saying failure to do that would only douse this tension temporarily while they regroup to prepare for the war, they have always craved and openly called for.

The group therefore called for the immediate arrest of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu and for his appropriate prosecution.

Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, who addressed newsmen alongside the Borno State Governor, Alhaji Kashim Shettima, on behalf of other 13 Northern groups, said the groups shall firmly pursue their petitions to the United Nations and the Nigerian Federal authorities for the appropriate sanction of Kanu and other IPOB leaders and sponsors in addition to labeling them a terror outfit.

Suleiman, who is the Chairman, Northern Emancipation Network, further called on the Nigerian Senate to demand that all Senators who stood surety for Kanu in Court rescind their bond or be suspended accordingly.

According to the group, “mindful of the concerns generated by the clause in the Kaduna declaration that advised the Biafran Igbo to relocate from Northern Nigeria and for northerners in the South-East to do likewise, and our commitment to the unity of our dear country, we immediately opened channels for dialogue and interaction with government agencies, national and international groups, institutions and figures.

“Admittedly, we came under intense persuasive pressure from genuinely concerned national, political, traditional, religious and cultural leaders prominent among which were: a section of the Northern Governors Forum under its Chairman, Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State, northern traditional rulers and the Directorate of State Security.

“We also had several fruitful interactions with various concerned individuals and groups.
Most significant was our correspondence with the then Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo and most recently our interface with the Presidency through the Special Assistant to the President on Political Matters.

“As a consequence of these vigorous engagements and as cultured people with a tradition of respect for our national values, leaders and elders, we are today pleased to announce the immediate suspension of the relocation clause otherwise referred to as the quit notice from the Kaduna Declaration.

“This suspension we are proud to say, is also out of respect for and in reaffirmation of our allegiance to one united, peaceful and prosperous Nigeria and in our unshaken confidence in the political will and sincere commitment of our dear President Muhammadu Buhari to take a holistic look at all the concerns we raised.

PoliticsN’delta Militants Shun Buhari, Insist On Northerner, Yorubas Oct 1st Quit Notice by kp3tech(op): 11:18am On Aug 24, 2017
Despite President Muhammadu Buhari’s national broadcast on Monday that every Nigeria is free to live and do business in any part of the country, militants in the oil region of the Niger Delta have insisted that Yorubas and northerners living in the region must vacate by October 1.

The group reinstated their threat in a statement released and signed by John Duku (Niger Delta Watchdogs); Ekpo Ekpo (Niger Delta Volunteers ); Osarolor Nedam (Niger Delta Warriors ); Henry Okon Etete (Niger Delta Peoples Fighters); Asukwo Henshaw (Bakassi Freedom Fighters); Ibinabo Horsfall (Niger Delta Movement for Justice ); Duke Emmanson (Niger Delta Fighters Network) and Inibeghe Adams (Niger Delta Freedom Mandate).

They stated: “We wish to thank all well – meaning Nigerians who threw their weight behind restructuring and disassociated themselves from the President’s position on restructuring. We want to remind him (the President) that without restructuring, there would be no united Nigeria,” the group said.

Accusing Buhari of not believing in “other Nigerians apart from those from the North,” the agitators wondered how the president could say that the unity of Nigeria was not negotiable.

The group went further to say, “The Coalition of Arewa Youths’ quit notice to Igbo was in collaboration with the Northern elders, the President’s cabal and top security chiefs from the North. They were properly consulted by the youths.

“Therefore, we maintain our previous position that Northerners and Yorubas should vacate the Niger Delta region before October 1, 2017, until justice is done. We can no longer tolerate this injustice, marginalisation and being treated as slaves in our own land.

“We, therefore, demand that the Northerners should return 70 per cent and Yorubas 15 per cent of their oil blocks to the Niger Delta people for justice to prevail.”

The militants’ insistence on its quit notice is coming on the heels of President Buhari’s directive to service chiefs to clampdown on Boko Haram terrorists, Biafra and other agitators for breakup of the country.
