PhonesRe: An In-depth Look At Gpus, The Companies That Make Gpus And Their Rankings by KrazyDave16(m): 6:39pm On Aug 26, 2020
Hakeem12:
Tech is moving fast no shiit. The adreno 618 paired with the SD720G is pretty impressive. My cousin bought redmi note 9s last week, and we put it to some test. It played pubg at 60fps effortlessly, NBA2k at high settings too. Fortnite though was locked on 30fps, I don't know if the game is that powerful or just poorly optmized.

Now I wonder whether SoCs like the SD665 would even run fortnite. Never tried it on my RN8 though. But then at least, I know I'm fairing better than some people that bought devices with Helio A22 and want to play Pubg on high settings grin
Depends on what device you play Fortnite on.
You can get 60fps on iPhones 8 up and some select Android devices (flagship and gaming ones) like;

1. Samsung (S and Note 9 series up)
2. OnePlus 7 Pro up(there's 90fps but on low graphics atm which is stupid)
3. Asus ROG 2 up
4. Nubia Redmagic 3 and 5G/5S

120fps on iPad Pro 2018 model.

First 2 got it cos they made special deals with Epic, rest got it cos they were gaming phones/met the minimum GPU and CPU requirements. Apple got it cos they get almost all apps first before Android.

Use a VPN and disable any suspicious-looking app from using your data and WiFi, block access to untrusted sites (this'll prevent them from popping up when browsing or not).

If above doesn't work, root your device and maybe flash any GSI of choice PE, LOS or any GSI of choice. Note that Pixel Experience works with less issues if no ROM is complied for your device (or you can recompile any ROM yourself or have a computer programmer/coder do it as they're open source and codes are on GitHub).

PhonesRe: Nokia 7.2 Vs Xiaomi Redmi 9 Vs Samsung A30 Dilemma. by KrazyDave16(m): 3:02pm On Aug 25, 2020
For the missus
1. Nokia 7.2 - decent camera hardware but you gotta install Gcam to fully enjoy it. Guessing she won't like this much.

2. Samsung A30 - Samsung only shines on flagships (the S and Note series), their midrangers good thing is the AMOLED display and since Samsung got their midrangers divided into upper and low tier midrangers, A30 is on the low side, meaning camera might be hit or miss.

For you - the Nokia 7.2 maybe or Redmi 9 (both of them 6gb variant). The A30 got no place for a businessman like you. Rather get a S7 or S8 if you can.

All talk with no action.

Most we'll see is the so-called changes on data plans above 20k and maybe a limited time offers and bonuses for select sims (looking at you MTN)

Some of U are funny.. Ur ignorance is embarasing... U claim chinese shipped fones are stealing ur data and U went ahead to mention tecno.. Is Tecno shipped from China?? Tecno isn't even assembled in China talk more shipping from China
The OS bruh, the OS...

iPhones are assembled in China but OS are done and sent out from Cupertino (California).

Transsion assembles their phones in Africa (Ethiopia abi where) but OS straight from their HQ in Shenzhen (China).

Google Pixel phones are done in China but the OS is from (drum roll please)... Mountain View (also California!)

Need I go on?

There's lots of free information about how OS and UI works (XDA and the comment section of Android-related threads on reddit) but short of it is OEMs like Transsion add/modify stock Android OS to their taste, adding several goodies or annoying bits like spywares, malwares, ads, trackers and whatnot.

PhonesRe: The Best Affordable Smartphones That Have Great Battery Life by KrazyDave16(m): 9:13pm On Aug 24, 2020
Depends on what you do with your device.

If you game or consume media content alot, 6k mAh battery cannot last one through the day but if you a minimalist, you can get a 24hr SOT on a 3k mAh battery.
PhonesRe: Infinix Zero 8 Is Coming Oooo by KrazyDave16(m): 9:03pm On Aug 24, 2020
It's pure speculation, renders states it's hot 10 (unofficial), 4G bands listed are limited/incomplete, price isn't real, whoever listed this is getting the hopes up of consumers (Transsion M.O. when they're doing something right but knowing them it'll end in tears for some, given the price history of the zero series).

SportsRe: Why Don't Nigerians Like The Nigerian Football League by KrazyDave16(m): 6:40am On Aug 24, 2020
mployer:
The problem is the people managing the league. They don't package and sell it well.

There were times Nigerians preferred foreign musicians to local ones. Then some people came in and changed things.
I still prefer foreign music with exceptions to Burna Boy and a few scattered tracks from other artists.

But you're right about those in charge of the NFL. They're only interested in lining their pockets with funds meant for the leagues. If you ask majority of those playing in these local leagues, they'd tell you they're doing it cos it's a sure way of getting picked by scouts so they'd leave this country which is only popular in killing off ones dreams and talents if said person isn't strong enough.

I didn't really like it myself.

I had a problem with the whole site design and outlay.

Can't really remember downloading anything from there. My bro was fan of it though.
True the UX was a mess but I stopped caring about it, provided I got the games I needed.
Shame the site is no more... Would've loaded some java games to play on j2me.

Any brand shipping with Android 11 up got to support seamless updates a.k.a. A/B partitions whether they like it or not.
If OEMss don't supply updates, it's their fault, not Google's fault.

PhonesRe: How To Uninstall Pre-installed Apps On Android Phone Without Root by KrazyDave16(m): 2:18pm On Aug 23, 2020
FYI

You're not uninstalling the bloatware, you're simply disabling them if you use OP method.
You're not necessarily creating space in ROM, just killing off background processes of the apps to get more RAM space.

If you doubt it, follow the method and factory reset your device.

If you want to permanently get rid of bloatware, root your device and use ADB tools but use another method or flash a custom ROM and install any system app of choice.

P.s - don't ask me how to do it, enter XDA and find out... I can't know every specific rooting method of each device.
PhonesRe: Why Is The Iphone So Overpriced In Nigeria? by KrazyDave16(m): 1:34pm On Aug 23, 2020
Y'all mentioning FX and other shii... That got nothing to do with the prices.

Apple always looks for ways to cut down production costs every year while making some sacrifices (battery capacity, sapphire that's just glass) but despite it the prices are still ridiculous

The FG had told ASUU to enrol on IPPIS pending the readying of UTAS. ASUU said it needed 2years. FG no agree. Only for bad sharp ASUU to present it within 6months of that discussion...Lol
If FG refuse to accept it, then Nigerian students and parents would know that FG is the problem. Let's not forget that Airports have been opened so that the children of the elites can travel back, as schools resume in September.
The whole izh is just sad... I'm hoping it gets approved.
Although the system put forth by ASUU might have flaws given the timeframe it was released or it was already done but they shelved it for God knows what ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

In other words, if FG doesn't agree to this
1. Strike still continues.
2. Going for UTME screening is 50-50.
3. Next year tinz for some of us.

Nothing spoil... Man got to survive long enough to leave this country for good.

Do you know how much it costs to deliver a baby in the UShuh? Thousands of dollars. The USA is an expensive country. Don't try to compare India to the United States. The purchasing power are not in the same class.
Purchasing power aren't the same but India is dominating the US in some sectors, one of them being cheap health care, something the US "world-class" health can't properly provide. Do you even know that childbirth in Canada is actually free?

Unless you got a very good health insurance, have someone who's serving in the army (person must be alive and be in active duty) or have a black credit card, using American health care is the same as damning you and your family to a lifetime of debt if not careful.

But here our Village brothers see ohh since they pay more in US so thats better.
Swrs @ bolded we think things abroad, especially the west should be bloody expensive since it means it is from a reputable person/company but anywhere else na fake/substandard. It's well.

Not really, They are not in profit, Airtel is in loss.
If Airtel leave (God Forbid) then It will be monopoly of MTN
No good service and more expensive plans.
For starters, they should remove the cap on their unlimited data plans, increase the data volume to suit 4G and upcoming 5G instead of dishing out 3.5G data volumes, fix the abnormal data leaks - zapping - when downloading large files over 500MB with 4G (Airtel does this to me all the time) and overall be more transparent with their data plans.
If they do this, they'll survive and become competitive not just in Nigeria but also India since they're struggling to pay back the loan they owe the Indian government.
