If you ask for US Samsung S10 and seller says he has it (he doesn't have the US variant but global version but him wan sell and will think you won't know which is which).

You use Middletrust to hold the cash and he delivers (Middletrust might charge you even for failed transaction). You inspect product and it isn't US Samsung, you go on Middletrust and say product wasn't what you wanted, you return it, Middletrust gives you your money.

Seller might curse you and your generation, you will look for another seller that have the US Samsung S10 or you use the money carry boys enter club.

The 690 is far far superior to the 675 bros.

If the G90T, 720G and 730 that use the A76 just like the 675, why do you think that the A77 is disappointing? I don't understand your logic sha.

Here's what XDA has to say

The Cortex-A77, therefore, has an improved microarchitecture that results in 20%-35% performance improvements. The A76 was different from its predecessors in terms of the architecture, and it was meant to serve as a baseline for the next two designs in the Austin core family: the Cortex-A77 in 2019, and “Hercules” in 2020.

That 20 to 35% is a big deal.

Plus all the other kini kan kini kan.

But last last, I concur with you, let's wait for benchmarks.
The clock speeds on the big cores at 2.0Ghz is a bit of a letdown. They should've increased it.
Even the dimensity 800/820 with 4 A76 cores will beat it at single thread performance cos they're clocked at 2.6Ghz compared to 2 A77 2.0Ghz cores.
It will be energy efficient, power efficient yes but with that clock speed, throttling will be your constant neighbor if you're a power user.
PhonesRe: The All New Snapdragon 690 5G Midranger by KrazyDave16(m): 10:52pm On Jun 17, 2020
Significant GPU upgrade from the 675 though CPU upgrade is minimal if not disappointing despite the A77 cores...
Other categories like ISP, DSP and AI engine is a bump from 675.
Waiting for benchmark results to roll in before making final judgement but I feel the dimensity 8xx series to be a better option.

Huawei needed to be killed by all means and google suit is one way to get it killed. Huawei has find away around it and all chinese phone manufacturers are working together to create alternative suit which includes joint alternative app store. Realme, OPPO, IQOO, VIVO, ZTE and so many are already on baord, they are working together to even encourage developers to create ecosystem around that.

If they are successful in that, what do u think will be next?
The answer is open for all to see.
Google can't sit back and allow that to happen even though they are not happy with what Trump is diong, they know it will push other manufacturers to look for alternative but they will not make it easy for smooth ride for that alternative to take off, that alternative will not use andriod platform as a spring board.
Huh...
But I read up that this new installation izh is more of a privacy feature to grant apps temporary permission instead of an all-time pass to your phone storage and data it doesn't need to read.

In other words, no need to manually revoke permissions for sensitive apps after using them as each app will have its own isolated storage instead of reading the entire filesystem.

I don't see how this issue got anything to do with the trade war, instead I see it for what it is - affecting all Android developers due to slower read/write speeds as some devs reported and adding the new API is a hassle (I don't understand code wella but changing API is one hell of a thing to do).

Honestly, sometimes xiaomi midrangers are somewhat better than some of their flagship offerings
TrollKiller:
don't bash xiaomi too hard.

xiaomi has solid experience in phone midrange and budget market, but has little/shaky experience in the flagship phone market

same way Samsung are kings in the flagship phone market but are not that experienced in making midrange and budget phones eg the Samsung A series

One plus has been working on the hidden camera for a while
It's definitely coming
The approach they used for the rear camera cannot be replicated with the front camera...

Cutouts for front cameras and sensors defeats the purpose of full screen they're trying to achieve in the first place.

Using it nonetheless will only make the price of phones higher, cause health hazards from falls, exposure to static electricity and repairs will be too expensive, making them not worth it, unless it'll be limited edition/collectors items.

Actually iPhones have improved battery now, at least for the pro and the pro max. iPhone XR had the best iPhone battery before 11 pro max was released and it rivaled many Android flagships. At the moment it would be difficult to find an android flagship with better battery than iPhone 11 pro max, not even Huawei mate 30 pro with 4,500mah battery.
Thanks to optimization which I highly respect Apple for. Now if they could remove the DRM shii without using backdoors it'll be great.

So I was privileged to use the Redmi Note 7 over a long period of time which was around the span of a year.

Although I've always loved MIUI and all of its customizations but it was definitely a first time having a feel of their own device.

The phone was made out of glass on the front and the back but with a plastic case. Very nice feel and premium design with sharp cutting edges but also felt "plasticky". This is beginning to sound like a review which I'm not interested in doing so let's cut the chase here.

The bottom line is their devices are good from my experience and usage especially considering what we already have here in the country, yes I'm talking about Infinix and Tecno.

I believe the level of customizations and work Xiaomi puts in their devices cannot be compared to anything Transission can offer and trust me when I say this that most of their devices are nothing but palatable trash. Still on this, Xiaomi Phones are not the best or even to considered as saviours in the smartphone world but when you factor in the prices and craftsmanship of these phones you are left with no other option but to consider them worthy.

There is no perfect phone and most Xiaomi Phones are budget devices that offer some flagship functions.

Having used devices such as the Infinix hot 8 and it's lite version I've come to a conclusion that when it comes to UI, ram management and overall feel; Xiaomi exceeds by a large margin.

I recently decided to do away with my Redmi Note 7 after the camera glass broke and images got blurry from the damage and also the power button broke cause it's made out of cheap plastic.

My advice is this, if you're sourcing for premium features and peace of mind, do not consider budget devices especially from brands like Xiaomi, umidigi, oppo and the rest of them.

But my dilemma will always be why would Nigerians take out their hard-earned money and pay for over priced phones which continue to offer mediocre specifications and are way worse than anything Xiaomi could offer.
@bolded availability and marketing strategy is what these brands have over Nigeria. There's no place you go in Nigeria you don't see it hear their ads. Though in all honesty the strength they put in their ads should be directed to make better devices.

I completely missed the high refresh thing. Thanks for reminding me. It's not like apple can't make phones with high refresh rate, I think they are saving it for their next generation of phones probably with a new design. Still comes down to them having their customers locked down, even if they release the next iPhone without higher refresh rate they will still sell because of their ecosystem. But I think the next iPhones will have a higher refresh rate
And a bigger battery capacity as well. But if they don't they'd sell alright but not as much as they'd expect. Cos the reason for upgrading from one generation to the next is pretty pointless for Apple users right now since iPhone 11 covered most of the important ones (except design), unless consumers are coming off from 6s to X series. Though they did release the intentional bug to boost sales, they were caught.
The refresh rate (or ProMotion as it's called) will be used to sell the iPhone 12 like they did the SE to Android users.

how do you expect that to happen.... There are on screen cameras but under screen thats not possible... Even if it happens except they find a way to cover it... It would be discontinued for security reasons
The under screen isn't possible now because the amount of light that enters the lens won't be enough to make a good pic talk less of video shots unless infrared was somewhat implemented but I doubt it'll stay for long.

Yes, they have not been very innovative for sometime now. I think it's mainly due to that they have their customers locked down. No matter what they bring out, people will still queue to buy. They have their own os, if u like iOS u have no choice but buy the iPhone. So they can decide to release the same phone for 2-3 generations with just minor changes. The iphone x design is in its 3rd and most probably last generation now. And to be frank I don't think changing the design of phones every year is very good for business of even for customers. If I bought an iPhone xs for $1,000, then a year later apple realeases a completely different iPhone 11, I would feel jealous, but if the design is not too different I can still hold on to my old phone for another year. Good for customers, good for business as they can still use old parts for the new phone.

Samsung have also followed this trend. In the past Samsung are known to release new designs every year, but for sometime now they have followed apple steps, release phones for generations. The s8 design was carried on till the S10 (3 generations). It makes someone who owns the s9 to skip the S10 and buy the s20. In fact if not for the competition Android devices are giving, apple are ready to delay new features of phones for as long as they can, not because they can't do it but it's a business strategy.
I'm not big on designs so my opinion on this topic will be a bit flawed but the trend here was for better camera performance than design, in my opinion Samsung and Apple got it all wrong. The S10 design would've been perfect this time around and the iPhone 11 camera should've been smaller instead but you're right about the competition not being in favour with Apple right now.

Given the rumours that iPhone 12 will come with a 120hz panel and them sourcing from Samsung, LG and one other source confirming this, it means they're going to play roulette concerning the green tint that comes with the high refresh rate instead of being left out of the refresh trend.

The thing is this, yes iPhone is not the first to implement a notch, but u should know the design of the iPhone x was leaked several months before its release. Essential phone was just quick to release their phone before the iPhone x. iPhone made the notch popular. The iphone serves as a statue that other phone manufacturers copy. Apple made the new camera trend popular now every phone maker is releasing phones with back camera similar to iPhone 11. Apple made headphone jack removal a normal thing. If they decide to bring back the headphone jack with the next iPhone then every other phone makers that have been removing headphone jack from their phones will bring it back. So many other things like micro SIM card, nano SIM, etc were made popular by apple.

Apple know how much they control the market and this is why sometimes they are slow to innovate as they don't want to rush some techs into the market so they won't run out of ideas for the next iPhone. If apple released their next iPhone without any physical buttons don't be surprised other phone makers will follow.
Wrong

Should Apple release a buttonless phone, few OEMs will follow after a few months or years because Apple is notorious for forcing changes on its customers, be the changes good, bad or pointless.

Also they aren't that innovative, they implement others ideas, sometimes make it better or change the name in some cases.
