....15 minutes passes by, Ricky Rozay still dey for interview. Lwkmd!!!

olarwarlay: Thanks for the latest info bro, you know i didn't use the Cotonou route and i got the post from Part 3.

Ok, I use Cotonou route to pay mine some months ago. I was duped before.

olarwarlay: I got this long info from part 3 of this thread and saved it on my phone since, even though I didn't use it. I'm sure it'll be of help to you....

We have discussed this several times but let me still reiterate. I want to break it down into steps:

1. Photocopy your passport and I-20 form.

2. Go to mile2 and enter a cab going to SEME border. Not sure how much the T.fare is now, just ask anyone where Cabs going to SEME border are.

3. When you get to the border, take a bike and inform the Okada man that you are going to ECO bank.There is one ECOBANK before you cross the border, that's Nigeria's ECOBANK.There is another ECOBANK when you cross, that's your destination.

4. The Immigration guys will stop you for sure.They will ask for your passport and ask if you have foreign currency. Pls, don't give your money to okada man. Some may request this from you that they will help you to cross with it so that you won't tip those guys.Pls, don't be penny wise.

5. They have about 5 points you are going to cross. If you tip for just 1k at the first point, tell the Immigration guys b4 you pay that they will give you some1 to take you along the other 4points.If you didn't request for this, you will tip at 5points.Talk with boldness.Max you can tip 2k.Those guys are thieves.They can just hijack your phone to hold you to ransom and request for 5k tip.Be smart with them.

6. Now when you get to ECOBANK, just tell the cashier you want to pay for SEVIS fee.They understand this wella.

7. The Cashier will write you 200dollars equivalence in CFA/235 dollars equivalence in CFA if you are paying for courier delivery. The last time I went 200dollars = 119,000CFA = 38k naira.You know currency flunctuates.

8.The cashier will direct you to the security guys. They will accompany you to a reliable Exchanger.Don't give bank security guys anything cos those exchanger appreciate them.

9. You get back to the bank, a girl will help you fill the Western Union form. The Cashier will request for your I-20 form so that they wont make mistake and request for photocopy of your passport so that they wont make mistake in your name.

10.When you are through, ask the security guy to point a reliable Okada man to you among those that queue in front of the bank. The Okada man will hold you fone and any other valuables with you so that you wont give any tip while coming back.

11. When you cross the border, enter cab for 800/1k back to Mile 2.

Hope this is clear enough, save journey!

NOTE The Bank will charge you 6k for Bank Charges. N6k = 18kcfa.

agadamich: Any Info people concerning booking a visa interview appointment because i have done all due processes but cant find any visa interview slot from now till 2015.
should i still be expecting or i should try the expedited option because the school am applying to opens in August 21 2013.
i have been refused a visa before, so i dont think i qualify for the expedited option.

Me; I tell am. 2000. And I started story. Ond to IT. Then after IT, I went for 2yrs certification course in solar installation and maintenance. I said I did that because the company was really struggling to survive because they were spending so much on power generation to sustain production in d company.(A german company in lagos)
Then I said I went back for my hnd in physics to broaden my knowledge of science and finished 2010.
Then I told her I got employed with xoxo company after graduation and I will be going for my study leave.(Na USA company in niger o)

I think she dey confused with d year I finished sec school and just going for bsc. Cos na so she just dey stir at the i20. Then I should have passed my docs for those period of second school till now to convince her a little bit. Shikena

Nice interview. Keep trying i think the chance for HND graduate is very slim but we will get there in Jesus Name. forget about the stirring sometime they do that to distract us.
The problem is check the bolded part and summarize it in like 3 or 4 sentences.

You can according to Biggy BUT i will advice to always have atleast 1 or 2m Excess. Because that was what i thought but it did not work for me when the VO ask if my sponsor is married and i said yes. i actually red her hands on the keyboard as she was typing but immediately i said Yes he is married she begin to backspace what she wrote before and re-type that was when i knew something is wrong. she feels my sponsor will have a responsibility so while will he spend all he has to sponsor me. what about his wife?.

eucharia64: Please am new to this thread. MY interview is schedule for next month. I contacted my sponsor for the statement of account and he said he doesnt have a closing balance of the stated amount presently. Please d big question is this: Must the statement of account end in june and does it mean the last date on the statement of account must have a balance of at least the tuition figure quoted on your 1-20 form? if need be can i change my sponspor to be on a safer side because on my 1-20 form its stated family fund. please help me out.

I will advice you change if you can. (from Experience)
my tuition was 20k dollars when the interview time approach the account has drop to 2.4m so i added about 13k dollars statment with and i stil got delay. i was told point blank that is because of the statement. so think very well the VOs that are on counter this month are good people. once you meet requirement they give you what belongs to you.

De Tus: @Kunsoft, sori abt ur denial. At times u need 2 lie 2 get wat u want. The VO does nt knw whether ur bro is married or nt. U only hv 2 say no n she'll think funds will be made available 2 u. Native speakers sometimes think specifically n it's pitiful. I tutored a frend of mine who r six in d family excluding d parents n warned him never 2 say they r six in d family. The VO asked him how many siblings does him hv, said only one n dat her sister wants 2 study Economics next yr so dat both of them can take over dad's biz wen they return home coz his dad is getting old. In d family, we call him "old skool" lol. The VO started laughing n said 2 d boy ur visa has been approved. Hv a lovely day. D boy told his dad abt wat happened at d embassy. The family n i are jst more than frends nw. U c d tactics? Hahaha.

Thanks Man. We learn everyday. Actually the VO was so friendly that we were found of each other so i start confessing like a lover boy lol. When she asked me did i have a younger brother i told her i'm the last SON of 5 and everyone in the family is committed to my education. I paid my own in Contonou. this are the step
you are paying in Cotonou currency and the total amount is 115,000 cfa. Note that N1 = 3cfa. 115cfa = 38k or there about.
You are paying bank charges of 18,000 cfa (Don't panic is among the 115k cfa)
i will advice you take atleast 45k including your transportation.
Depends on your location. If you are coming from Oshodi once you drop at mile 2 take a cab to seme boarder na 1k.

Once you drop u will need to cross the boarder and is 2 ways you either pay 200 or 500 naira to a bikeman.
Tell the bike man to take you to the Eco bank close to the boarder.

Enter the banks and tell them what you want to do. the security guard will direct you to where you can change the money is direct opposite the bank.

Go along with your 1-20 and International passport.
Take bike again go back to naija.
Just dress causally.

wabi_wabi_91: I am so sorry. Since it is just a matter of funds, I'm confident that with a buffed up bank statement you'll get the visa. There are ways to obtain this that you should be aware of. My own bank statement is only 2.6 million (required is 8 million). I am a bit worried, should I go for a later date and get a better statement or risk it? My interview is on thursday.

It depends on who your sponsor is.
I guess if i had said No that He is not married she might consider me.
She feels the guy is married definitely there is responsibility for him (His wife)
Another option is getting someone with fat statement you can claim to be your uncle from maternal side with a letter of sponsorship.

i arrived the embassy few minutes to 7:30 and lucky for me i saw some nldrs that allow me to enter the line instead of joining the long queue. we followed the process all through as if na BRT we won enter. i was called by my name on mic to report to a particular window while we were waiting to biometric. i was told that my DS 160 is not loadings the could not access my information Gbam! ( i used the old DS 160 print out, i re-printed it). what next? i was given yellow paper 90minute time out paper. she said i should go out and fill another DS 160 within 90mins. the tout said i should pay 5k to fill so that they can help me fill it. 'ole'. i quickly went to Obalende to fill and print out new one then join the queue inside.
since 7:20am to about 2:00pm

NOW THE INTERVIEW
Me: Afternoon ma, how is ur family doing?
VO: fine thank you with a big smile
VO: your documents please
Me: Sure
VO: i can see you are going for study Why UCO
Me: bla bla bla
VO: good who is your sponsor?
Me: My brother
VO: where is he working?
Me: CEO of a Logistic Management Firm
VO: How much is his salary per month
Me: 400k (Did not expect this question oo )

Me: Yes

Me: First tender the DORM acct with 13k then Naira acct with 2.4m
VO: Check page to page. then started typing as if she is writing article

Me: Yes (red flag that i noticed)

ȋ̝̊̅ think you have to come up with something else and forget about the school stuff. Probably U̶̲̥̅̊ went to a computer institute or you work as an entry level in a company. Cook one position and responsibility for yourself.

Tell the VO HND is an advance diploma so you will be tranfering the credit for the new degree.

Please Note that there is a way the VO can know the schools you apply to just that they don't have the time to do that. ON your TOEFL original score card the list of the 4 schools CODE you mention while registering TOEFL will surely be there.

Secondly, America schools are not like Nigeria schools. Once you meet the school requirements and apply early enough nothing can stop from getting the admission. Most people do apply to one or two schools. if you have enough money for application fees please apply to as many school as you like including UK and Nigeria schools. Is not compulsory to tell the VO that all the schools you apply to are in US.

Depends on your school fees. Just make sure you have sufficient funds. Secondly, the statement must be within 3 months at most. You can also print it a day to your interview.

bigfrancis21: The bone of contention is not whether using a company statement will deny or grant you the visa. Sure, using a company statement does but only if it tallies with what's on your I-20. The issue of discussion here is if someone who has 'family funds' clearly written on his I-20 and goes with a company statement get granted despite the inconsistency?

The security said to me, oga, u hv really used a lot of time. I said why can't u allow me use d toilet in a high tone. I went 2 d toilet n removed a lot of gas hahaha.
