I bet you never gave beyond that dirty N100 you squeezed into the offering plate last year, yet you call it freewill giving and expect the church to survive on that With that 100naira he has probably given way more than the tithes and first fruits you have been giving. God only cares about your heart. Except of course you see church as a bank as many like you are wont to do. |

alBHAGDADI: Which job did Jesus, Peter John, James and the rest do? They didn't collect anything yet Judas was their treasurer.
Paul in 1 Corinthians 9 explained why he chose to get a job and fend for himself. He in nope wise slam those apostles who were full time workers in the church. And what happened to Judas who was so focused on the money that he even wanted the woman that bought perfumes to wash Jesus's feet to go and sell it and bring the money instead. Jesus never mandated collection of offerings or tithes or first fruit. This doesn't mean people won't have contributed to the gospel, but it's not by force or laden with curses. |
Christianity Etc › Re: First Fruit Is A Scam, Be Wiser In 2019 by Kusetic(m): 8:31am On Jan 01, 2019 |
alBHAGDADI: Yet Peter, John and the rest apostles depended on the church to feed cos they never did any other job. Even Jesus Christ told Peter to abandon his fishing job and start fishing men, yet you expect him not to eat of men like he ate of fish. When Jesus was crucifed, Peter went back to fishing but Jesus upon resurrecting told him to leave it unless he wants to prove that he loves fishing more than him Jesus. Salvation is free, the early Christians contributed money to take care of everyone in their fellowship not just the apostles, and this wasn't from tithe or first fruits. The bone of contention here is the manipulation and coercion by the preachers we have today. If someone contributes 100naira in church, as you have been deriding in your previous posts, he is doing it out of his freewill. It is not your place to tell him how to contribute or place curses as mines for him to avoid. If he also chooses to give it to widows or prisoners, please restrain your greed and mind your business. Churches are not agencies that should be paid before getting access to God. |

A polo on shorts and a flip flop are all they don. Our people will wear dog chain and sun glasses on a suit just to buy bread in a mall.
What you should be condemning are people who over-dressed when going to the mall. It is not an occasion or an official assignment for crying out loud.

So before you call Saraki names let’s see what the court can make of the case.
Saraki can not singlehandedly stop the salary of a fellow Senator. I will be surprised if he has such powers In the article, it's clearly stated that it is unconstitutional for the senator to still hold the post and be receiving the benefits therein while he is in prison. YES ! Our Churches carry out Charity , Just that some might not involve Publicity stunts for that! My Church does that Massively but not for publicity stunts!
Having said that there could be some wolves in sheep Clothings who do not !
Question 2
It depends on how u saw the statement! I am not a member but I Watched that program where The servant of GOD made that Statement! I didn't see it as a Boast! It was more of a Encouragement! He said and I quote " Some persons say I am worth $150 million ! How can you say so! I am worth All Things! I am Dangerously Rich" My brother Everyone who Believes in JESUS CHRIST is worth all things! Provb 23:7 says as a Man thinketh in his heart, so is He
1cor 3:21 says let no man glory In Himself , All things are yours!
It's a choice to say Positive to yourself!
3. Tithe giving has no fixed way! It's based on how u get your profits, Gains, salary etc..
4. Whoever dwells on Just Tithe payment is more of a Criminal! The Primary purpose of JESUS CHRIST is to Seek and Save the Lost not to collect Tithes!
Having said that , It is Important to teach on Tithes , Givings and Offerings as it is GOD'S Principle to Godly Prosperity!
5. NO! Freeze has gone about a Right talk with a Wrong Approach! It's really Dangerous because some of men being Insulted are Men Called by GOD! Even if they go Astray, GOD HAS HIS way of Dealing with them! But the person who insults them Insults GOD Because it's GOD that called Him and not us!
I'll tell u ,Freeze has led many to things they can't recover from Except by Mercy of GOD.. all due to their Tongues!
May GOD HELP US For your no 5 answer, I disagree with you brother, when our leaders are doing the wrong thing we are supposed to call them to attention granted that freeze is extreme by using unnecessary insults in some cases. The berean Christians were complimented by Paul because they went back after every sermon to check what the preacher said and confirm it in the word and also ask questions. Many times our so called men of God scare people with their own ideas and doctrines which are not biblical and when they are corrected, other people scream thou shalt not touch my annointed and do my prophets no harm. Finally they came to power and told us that if we allow them increase pump price, that in six months, our refineries will be fully operational and competition among the marketers will drive down the cost of PMS, boom they increased from #97-145. only for them to go about claiming to be paying 10X the value of subsidy to marketers despite all their claims. my questions are the following, 1. Has our population increased so much? that we now utilize such volume of PMS within the period. 2. What happened to the money they claim they will save so as to get our refineries working, after all it is almost 3yrs now and no refinery is working more than at 25% capacity? 3. if our Budget increased from 4.2tr under GEJ to 8.8tr, please how has this reflected on our lives as ordinary citizens trying to survive on the streets? someone should please enlighten me Nigeria is a peculiar case in that our fuel consumption is not solely for vehicles but also for individual and commercial power generation seeing as electricity is very poor in our country and fixing that problem is a dream that might never come to pass in our lifetime. Saving money for our refineries will require a whole lot of things to work together, global oil prices increase, other sectors of our economy pulling their weight in revenue generation and we actually using the funds for the purpose intended. Your third question is a million dollar question, ideally if the system was sane, we would feel the effects in things like free healthcare, free or improved education, good roads (personally I love good roads, they give peace of mind..lol), constant power etc. At that time you won't care who is in power so far the system works and you reap what you sow into it. But that is a pipedream in our wonderful country. |

nelsonoba: This is how people deceive themselves in the name of love. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he GAVE His only begotten son.....". The most precious thing God had was His Son, and because of love He gave you ALL of His most precious. You that claim to 'love' God but cannot give him ordinary 10% of your money.....who are you deceiving?? You think you're deceiving God? If you can't give God ordinary 10% of your money, that means you CAN NEVER LAY DOWN YOUR LIFE FOR GOD if push comes to shove. I don't need any prophet to tell me that about you. God commanded us to love Him the way Jesus first loved us and laid down His life for us, so if you can't lay down ordinary 10% of your money for God, then YOU DON'T LOVE GOD! Do you know how I'm sure about this? Because Jesus said "where a man's heart is, there will his treasure be also". If your heart is with God, giving him 10% will be done with joy in your heart.
When you want to go and toast that girl you've been tripping for, you don't mind spending your money to give her what she wants just for her to agree to your toasting, just so she can think you love her (even when you yourself know that you don't love her unconditionally), but now it comes to God, and you are speaking big grammar to prove you don't need to spend your money to show you love God.
A lot of Nigerian christians are like you, and that is why we find too many 'so-called' christians who go to church on sundays and appear religious, but corruption is increasing everyday. Brother and sister in church are having sex outside marriage and living the same lives as normal sinners. Now you see why many people in church easily deny Christ? Have you wondered why in the early church as it was recorded in the book of Acts, they faced death and great persecution, yet they were not denying Christ? Have you wondered why those christians were being beheaded and thrown to lions to be devoured, yet they kept preaching the gospel of Christ? The answer is simple; they loved Christ with all their heart and were willing to prove it by giving anything including their lives for Christ. One of the ways they proved their love for God was by paying 100% tithe (ONE HUNDRED PERCENT TITHE). If you havent heard this before, i suggest you go and read Acts 4:33-37 & Acts 5. Do you know why God killed Ananias and Sapphira in Acts 5? Because they brought 50% tithe when others were bringing 100% tithe. Go and read the story for yourself. The point is this; those Christians in the early church loved God and it showed in how much they gave to God. They could have decided to be like you and be arguing if they should pay the 10% that God commanded or not, but instead they decided to go the extra mile and give God 100% because of the love they had for God.
Then on the day of judgement, you and daddy freeze will now mistakingly go and queue up directly behind one of those early christians who gave God 100% tithe and after they face their judgement and receive their reward, you and freeze will now want to enter the same heaven with those christians?? You had better start creating your own heaven now, because if it's the heaven of God where nobody enters without holiness, then you are not yet ready. If you like, think I'm judging you, I don't care. I have told you what is written in the bible. If you don't like it, go and quarrel with God who inspired men to write down His word in scriptures......if you have the power to do so. By the way, i am not trying to convince you, because you have already made up your mind that you know it all concerning tithing, i'm only trying to use God's written word to punch holes into your baloon of errors and deception so that the deception stops with you and you and daddy freeze don't go about deceiving innocent baby christians who genuinely desire to know what is written in God's word, but they have not matured well enough to study God's word for themselves and understand it.
****Imagine people deceiving themselves that you don't need to give your resources to God to prove you love Him **** Ananias and Sapphira died because they sold their possessions and brought only a part of the proceeds while pretending to have brought all of it. They died because of a lie. You really need to study the Bible on your own and not regurgitate what your pastor tells you is the gospel, please study the Word of God. God doesn't need your money or my money to do wonders in our life. Pharisees paid their tithes regularly and Jesus still rebuked them. I only hope you won't realize that you are probably worshipping Mammon before it's too late. |

nelsonoba: No!! you think everybody loves sin shebi?? If you don't want to make it to heaven, pls step aside let those who are serious do so. You expect me to sound religious and tell you I AM NOT HOLY or NO ONE IS HOLY That of course is how religious people sound, thinking nobody is a saint. If nobody is a saint, then who are those that made it to heaven? Why will God command us to be holy if He hasn't given us the grace to live a holy life?? You see, your problem is gross ignorance & RELIGION! These are the two reasons why you are not living a holy life. God said 'my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge'. If you are not living a holy life or you don't know how to, you need to do either one or both of these two things; 1) Listen more carefully to the teachings of your pastor when he explains the bible
2) Change the church you attend and start attending a LIVING church that teaches you God's word undiluted. These were what I did many years ago, and today I am able to live A HOLY LIFE BY THE HELP OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.
Instead of deceiving yourself to think that God is a liar by asking us to live a holy life when as you think "nobody can be holy", why don't you humble yourself and learn what people like some of us have humbled ourselves to learn about God that now empowers us to live holy? But you can keep arguing and deceiving yourself to think everybody is swimming in sin like you, and on the day of judgement, we will know if people will enter heaven or not, and if they will enter win sin contrary to what God clearly states in Hebrews 12:14 You are a very interesting "Christian". All you can say is pastor teaching this and church doctrine. You would have made a lovely Pharisee. I am a believer in Jesus the Son of God and he didn't pay tithes anywhere in the bible, He preached love towards neighbors and enemies alike. I think you need to love more and condemn others less, you won't convince anyone with your scaretactics the way your pastor most likely did with you. |

If you haven't understood the meaning of that word - greed, then please no need having any conversation with me, cos you will just be talking OUT OF POINT! You call me greedy for WANTING TO DEPOSIT 10% OF MY MONEY TO GOD. Your accusation alone is the exact opposite of what a greedy person would do. So please study the meaning of greed or I would not even waste my time replying you again
2) You said "I am not not Holy but I thank God for my life".........Do you expect to make it to heaven if you are not holy? or do you read a different bible that does not contain Hebrews 12:14 which says "Pursue peace with all men, AND HOLINESS, WITHOUT WHICH NO MAN SHALL SEE THE LORD"? Do you think there is a chance you will enter heaven without repentance from your sins? You must be joking with eternity if you really think so or if the church you attend doesn't preach that truth to you. So, you haven't learnt to understand scriptures and obey God in holiness, but you think you have what it takes to lecture somebody who is walking by Grace and trying to obey every command of God in scripture he sees including paying of tithes? Go and get your soul saved first before coming to SHOW OTHERS THE WAY. If you understood God's word, by now you would be living a holy life.
I see the same problem freeze has in you. Freeze who is still living in sin and living with a woman he is not legally married to is the one trying to teach born-again christians how to follow God. You both should first start by getting your souls saved before coming to teach others what you don't understand! And you think you are holy right? I am sure you are one of those who count how many times other people sin or tell yourself "oh that guy didn't pay tithe or offering this Sunday, hellfire straight", I am not Holy because it's not by my own strength, the Bible did say the righteousness of man is like a filthy rag but I'm sorry Mr Holier than thou, you are greedy because you are giving the tithe with the expectation of returns and you in turn condemn people who don't subscribe to your dose of religiousity. Mind you I pray to and praise God when I want benefits too but I won't condemn other people if they choose not to do the same. And before you reply this ask yourself what would Jesus do or say. |

nelsonoba: If you a responsible Christian, you won't wait for any pastor to cajole you into paying tithes just a responsible citizen of Nigeria does not wait for the government to cajole him to pay his tax when he earns a salary or profit from his business. The problem is not pastors telling you to pay tithe. They are only echoing a command from the bible. This is just like you getting angry at pastor's for "cajoling you to stop fornicating". They are as well echoing what is in the bible. The only reason most people hate hearing about tithe is because of GREED that makes them feel 10% of their money is too big to give to God.
The only thing I will tell you is this; if you currently attend a church where the only thing they talk about is money and they don't feed you with the complete word of God to help you mature as a Christian, then leave that church and go to a church where they will teach you on HOLINESS+PROSPERITY+TITHING. My church where I attend for the past 13years is one of such churches that teaches you every aspect of God's word. They teach us on sowing + tithing, but more importantly they also teach us on holiness! We want to pay our tithes and still make heaven, not to finish paying tithes here on earth and end up in hell because of worldliness. You keep harping on about greed, you are the greedy one for thinking that God is a bank that you deposit 10% of your earnings monthly into and get regular returns. You are basically telling me that you are paying for a service from God. And I will ask you again to tell me where Jesus who is the only Way, Truth and Light dedicated a sermon or even a parable to tithing not a verse where he was telling off Pharisees for focusing on tithing and forgetting basic human kindness and justice. I am not not Holy but I thank God for my life. |

Even the bible said that if all the words and deeds of Jesus were to be recorded in a book, that the whole world would not be large enough to contain such a book......but I'm sure a very KNOWLEDGEABLE Fellow like you would not have seen that statement in the bible before.
You are asking if Jesus paid tithe? Why don't you ask God who he pays tithes to too?! You sound very much like one of those religious people like the Pharisees who crucified Jesus. And I'm sure if Jesus were physically on earth at this time, you will be one of those more than happy to help crucify him for his teachings You are one of the people who water down Christianity as a whole, you are the one acting like a Pharisee by trying to force what your pastor has told you down people's throats in place of what Jesus taught. Jesus never collected tithes from people rather he fed them. He also never paid tithes because he emphasized love as the most important commandment and not the law. And if Jesus walked the earth my brother, a person like you won't recognize him because he won't fit into your idea of a Messiah pretty much like how the Jews haven't acknowledged him today. Christianity Etc › Re: Daddy Freeze: Don't Be Deceived By Hypocrisy Of Men! By Omooba77 by Kusetic(m): 11:46am On Dec 09, 2018 |
It is unscriptural for Christians to pay tithes. It was meant for a specific nation for specific purposes.
God had a covenant with Israel. God tells His people to bring the tithes to a place He’ll establish His name. He goes on to state that if that place is too far for them to bring their tithes because the Lord had blessed them with abundance, then they should exchange their tithes for money - bring it to the place and buy whatever their hearts desired, come and eat their tithes, and then share with the orphans, widows, Levites and strangers within their city gates - those who do not have a share in the land. You find this in Deuteronomy chapters 14 and 26. According to this, the Israelites partook of their tithes, they didn't just give it and leave.
Now, the famous Malachi 3 was never speaking to Christians. God, in the whole book of Malachi was talking to the priests who had started offering unacceptable sacrifices, and not even taking the tithes to the house of the Lord. So in chapter 3 verse 10, He tells them to bring the tithes into the storehouse so there may be food in His house. Food for whom? Remember, we already know that by now from Deuteronomy. All this is happening under the Law of Moses (Mosaic law). Malachi doesn't even mention how often tithes must be brought much less every month!
Christians are not under the Law, they are under Grace. In other words, when the people who were under the law worked for their “salvation or relationship with God” Christians don't have to because they have been saved by grace. They are not required to slaughter animals and bring different kinds of offerings like if they were still under the law.
New Testament mentions nothing on Christians having to pay tithes. Jesus and His disciples never paid tithes neither did they instruct anyone to do so. Paul wrote three quarters of the New Testament and had many opportunities to talk about tithes but he never did! He spoke a lot on giving and as a matter of fact giving is mentioned 176 times in the New Testament- nothing on tithes. So why have Christians been paying tithes then?
When you follow the law, you must be sure to heed to every instruction, you break one, and you’ve broken them all! When Christians are taught to bring the tithes, they are being subjected to the law and that means they are being subjected under the curses listed when they don't obey. Some tithers pay the tithes but still struggle throughout the month. Some even borrow from credit cards to pay tithes. Some have their policies lapse. Some struggle with school fees – all because they paid tithes. That doesn’t sound like these people live under blessings as promised by those who teach them to pay tithes. Could it be that they’ve subjected themselves to a law that God didn’t even have anything to do with in regard to His relationship with Christians? How is that it's only a few get blessed every week/ every month, and the tithers seldom get blessed?
Many argue that tithe is to help spread the Gospel. Really?! According to which scripture? Have the pastors been “robbing” the people of God? Have the pastors been “preying” on those who didn't care to check the scriptures? Do Christians read their Bibles?
Christian tithing has no New Testament example and no command either. #Copied |

deomelo: Saraki aka Oga JUICY and the PDP, in general, are not used to Nigerians benefiting from their own hard work and money because they are used to pocketing the money and in the case of Mr JUICY, he's to sending such funds into his PANAMA bank accounts.
The money belongs to hard-working Nigerian men and women, not to the PDP and their crooked and corrupt Oga JUICY and his looting gang. They are so used to pocketing the money meant for the masses that it's only civil servants they remember to pay once in a while, everyone else only needs some rice and maggi cubes. |

waali: So to avoid dividing the children, the Muslim students should now dress in a way that's acceptable in the Christian faith and abandon their own right? Nobody is forcing anyone to wear Hijab but for those that want, it's their right (since they have the right to choose the faith to follow).
You can't come and tell me not to dress in an Islamic way and I agree then end up dressing like a Christian. Just so you know, Christianity is inclined towards ladies covering their hair, so this is a secular matter which the school being a private institution and an entity unto itself has included in their rules and regulations. Therefore if a parent or student isn't comfortable with these rules, they can always change to a school that meets their needs |

Demmzy15: ISI is a public school. And how does hijab block the head from learning? Or if you are against clothes, why not tell your children to go naked to school, so that they learn faster! Hijab is for our children not yours, stop making noise International School Ibadan is not a public or government school since it is not funded by the Federal Government, it is run solely on the fees charged by the institution. Hence, they can determine if they want any bits of clothing, religious or otherwise, attached to their uniform. So scream religious murder all you want, what they choose to do is what will happen. |
